Original Target Clearance Thread

Since the Target deals are usually of the "your mileage may vary" type, let's keep all the target clearance deals in this thread.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance without making the store clerk unlock the display case and price-scan a bunch of games. Very often, games may be on sale, but will not be marked as such.

BigDirty came up with this nice time saver. Respect his cheap ass skills.

1) Check this thread for games that have been reported on clearance.

2) Go to www.half.com, http://bits.com/ or similar website and search for the game to locate its UPC code number. Its in the grey box underneath the box art graphic.

3) Go to http://upcdata.info/ , www.milk.com/barcode/ , or www.upcdatabase.com and enter the code so you can print out the UPC.

4) Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts and search for cheap ass deals!

FYI: "When a game's price ends with 8 cents, further reduction is possible, when it ends in 4 cents, that's the ball game, pick it up cause it's not going any lower. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." - BigDirty

Games that do not sell after being discounted are often donated to local Goodwills for sale at their retail stores, so check there when the clearance items dissappear.

This thread is for Clearance deals, not sale items or raincheck "scams"
Please Post City, State and Store (If City has many stores), game, system and price

Keep extraneous discussion to a minimum, as posts not pretating to clearance deals may be deleted by the mod crew.

As always-- YMMV

Example:

Philadelphia, PA Snyder Plaza
BigDirty's Wild Ride, XBox, $4.98

*Thanks to CheapyD and BigDirty for the info*

Spotted today, at Target in the Tustin/Irvine Marketplace:

GBA Big Mutha Truckers 3.74
Mobiblu 2MB mp3 cube 80.00

Last one of each. Passed on the first, picked up the second, which was still marked with a red tag at 135.98. The cashier stared at it and said "Guess it's on sale." Yeah, guess so :)
I have a question- can you renew your xbox live membership with one of these clearance 17.99 xbox kits or do you lose your screen name and have to rejoin as a new member. I am an uneducated mom trying to save a few bucks here.:D
The 12 month codes will add to your current xb live account without having to create a new name.

On a side note, I went to Goodwill today and saw copies of Geist for Gamecube marked $3.99. One still had the Target clearance sticker on it. haha. At least Goodwill isnt trying to make a killing on these games.

Don't know if these have been posted yet, but here's what I saw at my Target:

Xbox 3 month starter kit (original, not 360): $8.96
Xbox Live Headset (once again, original): $7.96
Capcom Fighting Evolution (PS2): $9.98
Battlefield 1942 (jewel case): $2.48
Area 51 Xbox: $9.98
Xmen Legends (Xbox PH): $9.98
World Poker Championship (DS): $13.98
Mechassault 2 (Xbox): $13.98
Mechassault: $6.98
Mario Party 6: $24.98
Tony Hawk Underground 2 (Xbox): $9.98 (I think, it's $13.98 if I'm wrong)
Psyclone "competition grade" Xbox Component cables (because we all know that third party accessories marked "competition" makes uR gAmEpLaY teh Roxxors!): $8.96 or $10.96
Dragon Ball Z Boudakai 3 (if I spelled Boudakai wrong or whatever, fuck it): $13.98

There were others, like Asphalt GT for DS, Fantastic 4 for GCN, and Batman Begins GCN, but my memory is the shits. Sorry.

On a side note, my Target has the $9.99 CD rack for "classic" CD's. I saw some great shit on there for those who don't already own them. The Led Zeppelin 2 disc GH set (good for introduction to them, but some of their best songs are missing IMO.. but those were never singles in the first place), The Beatles Abbey Road and Revolver, Bob Seger GH, and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Definitely worth checking out.
well it looks like the Naruto game is indeed a universal price drop. since i saw that drop like last week, everyone is reporting in from their local Target.

do you guys think $20 value is still too much for Naruto(GC)? i think the price is OK, and be wouldn't dissappointed. not to mention a $20 price cut, typically price cuts are like $10 off, but this is a fat cut.

other than that, nothing new from my Target, nothing great either.
The Naruto price drop is due to the sequel coming out in early September. Just wait for that one if you really want a Naruto game on the Gamecube.

Couple of things on clearance at the Target nearest me (Brandywine, DE) I don't think have been posted:

Mario Power Tennis GBA - $20.98
LCD screen for PS2 (can't remember the make) - $49.99

Nothing too great, Mario Power Tennis might be worth it if it drops again.

They also had a budget selection of GBA and DS games. DS games were $14.99, not many titles and all kiddies games like Finding Nemo and The Incredibles.

There are about 25 Max Payne 2 for PS2 at my local Target for $3.24 each.

Mark Ecko for PS2 is $4.98.

Batman Begins for GCN is $13.98.

I picked up an XBOX Live kit (3 month) for $9.98.
I saw Tales of Phantasia GBA and Mario Power Tennis GBA for $14.98 today at Pensacola FL Target.
Oh, I gotta go check the local Targets in the morning.

Here's what stood out at the Clackamas Promenade Target in the Portland, OR area. I was there around 9:30 last night.

GBA:
Donkey Kong Country 2 (3 copies) - $14.98
Dynasty Warriors Advance (a few copies) - $13.98
Lizzie McGuire (several copies) - $13.98

DS:
Need For Speed Underground 2 (2 copies) - $14.98

PS2:
Max Payne 2 (several copies) - $7.98
Midnight Club II GH (2 or 3 copies, can't remember) - $9.98
Full Metal Alchemist (can't remember which one, 1 copy left) - $9.98

Xbox:
X-Men Legends PH (several copies) - $9.98
NBA Street V3 (several copies) - $14.98

There were also a good number of PC titles I didn't pay attention to as well. All of these were found at the endcap of the big glass case, facing the TV's.

just checked my local Target for the heck of it.

nothing new for clearance, although new price cut on the current or old clearance.

:ps2: Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - $ 9.98
:ps2: Max Payne 2 - $ 7.48

no change on

:gc: Batman Begins - $ 13.98 still

I also saw something truly disturbing: The had Greatest Hits copies of "50 Cent: Bulletproof"! How in the blue hell is that a GH?!?!
Damn that is disturbing, the fact that crap games sell like that while other gems never get much respect. A lot of kids these days will buy anything with 50's name on it though.
Yup, for some reason it is "cool" to support the wealth gain of a murderer.
just curious: who did 50 cent murder, exactly? i mean 50 cent the rapper (curtis jackson) who gets wealth gain from the videogame, not "original 50 cent" (kelvin martin) the murderous gangster whom 50 cent the rapper named himself after. google isn't giving up the goods, as far as people who have been murdered by curtis jackson.

My store had a ton of goodies
Zelda Minish Cap, Tales of Phant, Yoshi:TT, Shaman King, Destroy all Humans, Winning Eleven 8, Megaman Collection, Mario Tennis, and much more!

yeah, but were they all $9.98 or under? Thats what I'm waiting for.

Saw this same thing in Port Richey, FL. Didn't see Destroy All Humans and Megaman Collection though.

Most of them were $20.98, Yoshi was $14.98, Kingdom Hearts was $13.98.

I also saw Capcom Fighting Evolution PS2, Dynasty Warriors GBA, and some assorted Xbox Platinum hits, all on clearance at their first stage of markdowns (around 30% off).

Just went by my local Super Target to check out some DVDs and happened upon a few new clearance games.

Tales of Symphonia: $20.98
WarioWare Twisted: $14.98
Jade Empire (both standard and limited edition): $9.98

There were a few others that were mentioned a few posts before mine such as a Lizzie McGuire game and Dynasty Warriors (both GBA). I'm not sure on the prices for those though. I ended up picking up a LE copy of Jade Empire for the excellent price of $9.98.

just checked my local Target tonight (update from my previous post)

:ds: Spider-Man 2 - $ 9.98 (note: CC has it for $9.96)
:ds: SEGA Casino - $ 7.48
:gba: Wario Ware Twisted - $13.98 (is this a good price?)
:ps2: Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - $ 9.98
:ps2: Max Payne 2 - $ 7.48

no change on

:gc: Batman Begins - $ 13.98 still

i went to my local target and saw:

Tales of Phantasia (gba) - $14.98
Mario Tennis (gba) - $14.98
Gun (ps2) - $10
Eyetoy Antigrav (ps2) - $24
Donkey Kong Country 2 (gba) - $20
just checked my local Target tonight (update from my previous post)

I think it's a pretty decent price. The game's a little short, but the motion sensor makes for a lot of unique microgames. If you liked any of the Wario Ware games, it's worth it. Heck, if you haven't played any of the Wario Ware games before, it might be worth a blind buy.

I personally think it's the best of the WarioWares -- more polished and longer than the DS version. The twist control is great. I saw it yesterday for 20.98, so 13.98 is pretty good. Your call if you want to wait for it to drop, but I wouldn't want to miss out on it.

It's only $10 at Sears.

I saw a few things on clearence yesterday (Target in Fresno CA Bullard & Blackstone)

Yoshi Topsy Turvey (GBA) $20.98
Yoshi Touch & Go (DS)$14.98
Ultimate Spiderman (DS)$9.98
Robots (DS)$9.98
and a ton of Megaman Collection (GC) $13.98

Picked up the last Yoshi Touch & Go for me & my wife...good times!

Got Rayman DS for $4.98 this morning, looks like it may have gone down more in the future since the price didnt end in a '4' but I didnt want to leave it there for just anyone to get.

For PC I snagged an Auto Assault ($9.99) abd D&D Online ($14.99) today. I figured I'll try them for a month for the same price (if not less) than the monthly fee alone.
I also saw Mario Tennis (GBA) for $14.99 and some other games.

Since this is over 500 posts now, whoever makes the new target clearance thread should update the first post like the Sears & Kmart clearance threads where every game on clearance is listed, this would makes things 100 times easier, and I could spend more time eating carrots and oats instead of searching through the thread.

That would take too much effort, though...the games and prices vary on a store by store basis, so any list we'd have would be incomplete and spotty at best.

And games go out of the system and salvaged must faster at Target. Stuff that was being talked about a week or 2 ago is long gone from most stores by now (like Drill Dozer and Geist)

I went to the Fort Union Target today. All their clearance games were messily stacked on top of other stuff they were selling. The two most interesting things I saw were X-BOX Jade Empire for 9.98 and GBA Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town for 9.98. They had a ton of DS Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits for 9.98 as well.

I saw one copy of Tales of Phantasia for $20.98. Of course, some ass sliced open the shrinkwrap and stole the game.

I saw a Forza Motorsport (Xbox) for $9.98 today... not sure if anyone mentioned that.

I almost grabbed it but Forza 2 is coming out real soon.

WWE Wrestlemania 21 for Xbox was also $9.98, and so was Juiced for the Xbox.

Saw an MGS 3 Subsistence guide down to $7.48... I already bought it awhile ago, so I didn't pick it up, however if it ever dropped to $4 or so I'd get it for trade fodder.

confirmed. MSG 3 Subsistence guides are also $7.48.
plus a bunch of other Game Guides under $8 range.
it looks like a lot of SF Bay Are stores have guides at clearance.

can anyone also confirm the ff:

:ds: GoldenEye: Rogue Agent - $13.98
:ds: Need For Speed Underground 2 - $13.98
:gc: GoldenEye: Rogue Agent - $9.98
:xbox: Yager (PH) - $4.98
:xbox: Splinter Cell: Pandora Tom. (PH) - $4.98

Went to the Target in Palm Springs, CA yesterday. While looking around, I found several Tales of Phantasias on clearance for $15.

If anyone has had any luck finding a Gba player for the Gc and wouldnt mind passing it along to me it would be greatly appreciated.

Im not quite sure about this but my Uncle came home with a PSP extra longer life battery adapter for 10 bucks...
