Target has unveiled their exclusive individually numbered Iron Man 2 3-Disc BD.

Target rep officially says it's "not a Steelbook, but could be an IronPack or MetalPak". No clue what those are but still looks pretty wicked.

You can pre-order now for $35.00 at Target.com
In for 2. Thanks for copying my post w/o credit. ;)
I did find it odd that you didn't make this thread.

Paying $35 for the possibility of a metal pack? No thank you. I'll wait till more details come out, but hopefully a real steelbook i announced somewhere.

Wouldn't this be readily avaliable in stores when it's out? No need to pay for shipping then. Orders from Target's online store don't charge until the item is shipped, right?

It looks good, and it's good to see that it has the DVD/digital copy as well.

What is the difference between a steel book and metal pack?

Metal pack tend to be lower quality, with shitty hinges.
So am I wrong, or is that a numbered edition of 30,000?
You look right. I might order 2 then.

looks good, but still hesitant to buy. I feel like I'm the only one who hasn't had the time to go see this ever...I just don't know if it's worth it to pre-order this, and maybe wait and see what other stores are offering.

Well there's a possibility it could be cheaper the week of release, like it'll have some sort of in-store exclusive sale price. There's also the possibility it will not.

30,000 is a lot for something like this, especially if it's only at one store franchise in one country. I won't be surprised if it's not OOS after a long while of being on the shelf.

So it's both movies for $35? That's not too bad I suppose... that makes it about $17.50 each, still a nice chunk of change for something I'd probably watch less than 10 times total.
According to Wiki, there are 1,488 stores in 47 states. Each store will receive 20 copies or less.
Reminds me of the Boondock Saints II steelbook Walmart had for the DVD version. Each store I went to had 20-30 of them. They were all gone within 2 weeks.

No, that one is $50 USD.
Yup, as well as Thor, Capt. America, The Avengers and all their related sequels.
It's not slated to have the script written until after the Thor, Captain America and Avengers movies come out over the next 12 months. Once that's done and they know what happens storywise after those movies, they'll start writing the script for Iron Man 3, which probably wouldn't be until mid-2011 or into 2012.

Heard it directly from Jon Favreau himself when talking about doing the third movie sometime in the future last week.

Wondering if this is still in theaters somewhere since I missed the movie ... i'd be tempted to buy something like this but only if I liked the movie, and renting the blu-ray will be a tad bit difficult on week 1.

You sir, must be a Stern fan!:applause:

I would of gotten it if I was a fan of the movie but I wasn't. I thought it was okay, too much mindless action and stupid parts. I stick to the first one.

Aren't these all linked together somehow

I contacted Target about what would happen if I ordered it online and then on release day the price was different and when do they charge the credit card. Here is what they had to say the first go around:

"We won't charge your credit card until we actually start shipping your order. We also send an automated confirmation e-mail to let you know when the order ships.

Unfortunately, we don't match prices with Target stores. We look at several different factors to make sure that our prices reflect the item's market value and to make sure that it's a good value for you and all of our guests.

Although our Target stores do have a new price matching strategy called the Low Price Promise, this does not apply to purchases made on Target.com. For more information about Target stores’ Low Price Promise, please visit

http://xycsites2.target.com/site/en/company/page.jsp?contentId=WCMP04-040399

Since the products and prices for Target stores vary slightly from region to region and occasionally between the store and the website.

We're always looking at ways to make Target.com even better and your comments are a big help to us. I'll make sure to share them with the right team.

For more information on price adjustments, see the Target.com pricing policy at:

Thanks for getting in touch with us. I hope you'll visit us again soon."

I wrote them back to be clear about the "price adjustment" if needed and this is what they said:

"We're happy to adjust a price whenever we advertise an item as a sale item in our weekly ad either the same week or the week after you bought it online. Just write back with:

-The dates of the weekly ad (at the bottom of the back page)

Please visit the following link to provide the information we requested:

Also, note that we'll be able to adjust the item price or refund the amount according to the status of your order. So, you can contact us at any time after placing your order.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to give us a call at (800) 591-3869.

Thanks for getting in touch with us. I hope you'll visit us again soon".

Hope this helps out someone who may have asked.
