Interesting.
Capcom had someone talking about how SFIV probably won't get ported because "how do we do it when the standard controller setup is the Wiimote/chuk combo?"
Which I must admit - the dood has a valid point. Virtual controller/Gamecube compatibility don't matter - if the game needs 6 buttons and the majority userbase doesn't have the a ability to do that, then you've got a problem. And frankly I could understand Capcom's reasoning for choosing to ignore porting at that point - they'd have to already rework the game as-is, and the fear of low sales due to controller option being poor is significant.
Nintendo - with their gobs of money - could (and probably should) step in and let them release a game+wireless controller combo as the standard package, and only charge $50 for it by subsidizing it. Then you could get a nice six button controller with a cool design to play a great fighting game. 'Course, this would be seen as "another peripheral," which I admit is a problem in and of itself.
Oh well. It's not like SFIV Wii would have a better online presence than the counterparts, *and* would have gimped graphics.
Also, this scored a 32/40 in the latest Famitsu. I dunno how well 2D fighters average in terms of scoring, so someone would have to tell me if this is good or bad. Averaged out, it's 8s across the board, which I guess is better than an average game score, but someone will have to tell me what the deal is.
