John Connor from T2 would not have turned into that much of a bitch. He knows what he needs to do. Terminator 2 ended with him basically having come to terms with his destiny.
Sarah Connor is supposed to be a fugly militant asshole, not some soccer mom acting like she's hunting for the guy who hit and run after the big game. Sarah Connor from T2 would have pulled that bullet out of her shoulder with her teeth and hidden it in her mouth to spit at the Terminator when it came back. The character isn't supposed to be some mini-skirt wearing, cleavage-showing gun model. There's plenty of porn for stuff like that, leave Sarah Connor the way she's supposed to be. And am I the only one bothered by the fact that the guy she was going to marry looked way too much like Robert Patrick(the guy who played the T-1000 in T2) for her to be comfortable with?
Why would Skynet have sent back a lower model Terminator? They never bothered explaining why an old T-800 was sent to do the job instead of a T-1000 or some other superior model. This also brings up the question of how did the resistance get a hold of a "superior" model Terminator than what Skynet sent back? This is assuming that giving the need to eat and having emotions makes what is supposed to be an unstoppable killing machine "superior". I took the blue eye flash to mean that she was the same model of machine that was used in Terminator 3. And yes I know that this show is a ret-con of T3.
Then there's the absurdity of having put together the time machine in the bank vault. The plan they tried to pass off as reasonable was absolutely ridiculous. The resistance had sent back in time enough scientists to scavenge parts that, when put together, could make a time machine? If they have that many incredible, resourceful scientists to spare, the war against the machines shouldn't be all that tough.
There were so many stupid plot holes in this pilot that really had better be addressed. In fact, I would be fine as long as they don't ignore the Terminator corpse left behind in 1999. There was that whole Terminator 2 movie where they went through all that trouble to destroy any Terminator technology in the present day so it couldn't be analysed, and Sarah would not be fine with just jumping into a portal and leaving the key to starting all this shit in a bank vault that's going to get investigated by any and all authorities. There's also that time machine constructed from parts found in the present day that they left in that bank vault. And that nuclear gun or whatever that was. Oops.
