I saw this on a frito display when I was at work earlier today. Just do what the op says and you automatically win 160/400/800/1600 MS Points. It is one entry per phone number so just do what I did and get your family to enter too. I got 4 unique codes and earned 2560 points today. :D

EDIT: I don't think the deal is dead... Just it is ridiculously hard to get codes now. Further into the thread I see people who had to enter 20+ times just to get one code. If all else fails just keep trying.

shut up, this "deal" was out for a few days. You think CAGs are the only one that know about this? Anyone with a freaking cell phone is capable of getting codes.. so maybe it's the random people in the US that don't bother visiting forums, maybe saw it on a tv spot, maybe it's friends of people on CAG that wanted a code or wanted to give a code to someone that could use it. It's too bad you're just a little late.

You mean they continue to send "WE ARE OUT OF CODES" when they're not? I'm shocked! It's almost like they've been doing that the whole time to discourage people and/or to make it so they don't run out of codes quickly.

Wait... that appears to be exactly what they're doing. Sadly, since they're the boy who cried wolf, we'll never know exactly WHEN they really ARE out of codes.

Text messages cost me 20 cents a pop. Not sure if it's worth the risk. Is there any way to send a text message online, but to a non-phone-number like this one?

it uses 4 text messages (2 sending, 2 receiving) ... so it probably won't be worth it for you. i tried using my google voice as well, but the text did not go through

I missed it. I didn't really want to participate in Microsoft's price-gouging point system, anyway. There should be laws against these types of pricing scams--oops--I mean systems.

"Price gouging is a term for a seller pricing much higher than is considered reasonable or fair. In precise, legal usage, it is the name of a felony that applies in some of the United States only during civil emergencies. In less precise usage, it can refer either to prices obtained by practices inconsistent with a competitive free market, or to windfall profits."

Nothing posted on XBL (outside of UFC PPVs which carry the same price as buying the show on PPV) carry prices higher than about $20. None of the prices that differ from the market. Compare XBL v. PSN, then I hope you consider PSN also Price Gouging.

$5-20 for a DLC isn't an issue, imho. It depends on the game and the content/depth. $5-10 for expansions or $2 for a song are also "reasonable." Funny thing is these prices are uniform regardless of platform. So rather than attack XBL, you might want to indicate that all digital media downloads are "price gouging." Which, in this case is an opinion and not definite by the laws and facts.

Price gouging IS illegal. This isn't price gouging.

I just redeemed a code, keep trying!

Tried to send in for a second and got:
"Wait just a sec. You've already entered. We do appreciate your eagerness though."
How did they "screw it up for everyone"?

(1) It's still active as of this morning
(2) We do not have a published limit of the # of codes they have. I highly doubt they have enough for EVERYONE person ever, let alone everyone Xbox Live registered user. If this was "for everyone" Doritos would have just deposited 100 pts into every XBL account. They didn't, so it isn't "for everyone."
(3) This thread is a duplicate of one that was active days before, so you're also very very late to the party.
(4) 1 per phone #. If the person is paying for more than one phone or tells their friends, they're not ruining it--- they're just getting it BEFORE you.

And for those comparing a text message (that you're paying for) to ECA's insanity--- please calm down and realize you're not even remotely in the same solar system.
1. Apparently not.
2. DUH!!!!
3. How about providing the link instead of ASSuming your accurate.
4. Did you overlook CaptainJew stating he got several with one phone?
It's funny how worked up people get over free stuff
What is even funnier is how people only give a crap about themselves during the time of year known for giving.

1. See the post 2 above you. Try again.

3. Use the SEARCH FUNCTION. Use GOOGLE. READ THE other posts that say the same thing. Oh, you're too lazy to be bothered and just want to snark without any attempt to add anything? Oh, here we go: http://www.cheapassgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=244574

4. If you read the thread posted above AND any of the multiples around the web (go ahead, Google 2447 Xbox Points, I'll wait) that you get the message "SORRY, this number has already been used." If Capt found a work around, more power two him. It's unlikely given the messages reported elsewhere. See #2 which you obviously agreed with saying "DUH".

I guess it's easy to just blame CAGs.. I mean Doritos only wanted to give out codes to us members right.. not maybe to the millions of people in the US that this is available to as well..
Oh look, ANOTHER post with this. Thanks Az.

Also, this thread needs to be moved it is not a deal. Merge with the original thread please.

zOmG!1!!! you all ruined it!!!!!!!!!
serioiusly though, deal seems dead. congrats to those who got something, big or small. missed this one though
That wasn't so hard now was it. Thanks az.
You're a CAG veteran. Use the fucking search feature.
dead as in completely over or codes gone for now?

edit- got the completely out of codes txt.. o well
If it was the following message there is still a chance:

"DORITOS: Sorry, all the codes have been redeemed. Thanks 4 giving it a shot. Be sure to check out snackstrongproductions.com"

I'm sorry, did you tell your English teacher to go and look up where you got your information for your report instead of citing your work? Let me know what school that was so I can make sure my kids DON"T go there.

This is a MESSAGE BOARD. If you READ THE THREAD it has been discussed at length. This isn't a report or an English paper. And seriously, let us not start on anything related to "schooling" given your posts.

Also, when asked I provided the link for you anyway. Learn to be an adult and do things for yourself. Maybe then your kids will be fine.

If you want to get technical, this thread should be closed seeing how it is a "duplicate".

Just did it and was told that they were all out of codes. That sucks, I could have used some.

I wish Microsoft would do discounted code days once in a while. Amazon had a pretty sweet deal last year around the holidays on xbox live points. Hopefully they will do it again.

I keep throwing up $25 and $25 and $25. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but it adds up! lol. I sent my text and was organizing friends and family to help me get some extra codes too, but I was beaten to the punch!

What a great site! I found you thanks to a Yahoo Article, which brought me to that charity you guys are sponsoring. Woohoo!

So I did this last night on mine and my wifes phone. My code came pretty fast, but my wifes didnt, anyways I ended up just going to bed. I get up this morning and give my wife a call asking here if she had a text from doritos. She says yes, I asked her to forward me the message. Oh I cant she says, I DELETED IT ALREADY:bomb:

Logic and reason have no place on the Internets. Only hyperbole and incessant ranting (and porn). ;)

"Amazon ECA codes and 100 free MS points from Doritos."
-"What are the two most exploited deals this year, Alex?"

first try said they ran out of the codes, but second try got me a code!
you should give a couple tries..
