The 2013-14 NFL Thread
Looks like Minny is about to go always goes full retard this every draft.
It's paid off when everyone went, "what the fuck, Adrian Peterson? But he's always injured" but for every Adrian Peterson, Randy Moss, or Percy Harvin in the Viking's history there's a Troy Williamson or Christian Ponder in there to make you realize sometimes their picks look like they're just based on a throw at a dart board...

Ravens will have choice of Minter, Ogletree, and possibly Cyprien. Do NOT take Teo.

EDIT: OK, maybe not Ogletree. Wasn't expecting that.

I don't want to see them take Teo. Hell no.

Holy shit, Ozzie didn't trade it. Awesome. Seeing Geno go to 2nd round, for some reason makes me happy.

Loved the "Can we trade our picks for a new GM?" sign by the Cowboys fan.

OK, Ozzie, go Elam or Cyprien, don't care who.

Yes! Ravens get a safety to replace Reed and Seton spins the Wheel! Yay.
Nice. Glad they can recognize that CJ is wasted without a top o-line in front of him. Can't let Locker keep taking bad hits for that matter either. This coupled with the Levitre signing will hopefully make for a formidable line in the coming years.
CJ has no more excuses
Too bad that this all means we'll have to suffer through Teo Watch tomorrow.
I hope nobody was playing a "how many times will ESPN mention Te'o" drinking game tonight. If they did, they're probably dead.
CJ has no more excuses
He actually had a pretty decent year last year, all things considered. Not 2,000 yards good, of course, but that doesn't happen too often. At the end of last season, 4/5's of the Titans o-line was out due to injury (and one of them just ended up retiring). I agree, he needs to work harder in preseason, but if they put legitimate blockers in front of him, I think it'll help motivate him. Just hope the Titans can figure something out on defense. They were terrible last year.

Hard as it was, they decided to compete with the Bills in the "Who the fuck is navigating this ship?" competition and arguably won. They could have easily picked for value at either the 18th and 31st and not come off like complete fools. I know these drafts are full of surprises and disappointments once they hit the field for real, but seriously, the guy they got could've been had for cheaper.

I don't think the pick was bad. Frederick is a great player and will start for us on day 1. He can play Center or Guard, so he could fit 2 needs for us. Thinking about it more, I do think we didn't get the better end of the trade deal though.

It may not be a "high profile" pick, but getting a day 1 starter in the first round is never bad.

After ripping the Buffalo pick, and I still think they didn't need to trade up to get him, I understand what they are trying to do. They see him a similar QB as Kaepernick and obviously Marrone is looking to run a read-option offense.

They better just hope 1) read-option doesn't get figured out by defenses as quick as the Wildcat did or 2) he has the chops to make the throws from the pocket.
I still don't know what the hell the bears were thinking. Wish they would have picked ogletree
They were probably thinking Jay cutler needs more than .2 seconds in the pocket to throw. :p
Pretty cool video inside the Patriots' draft room

I especially like the "Bill's on the phone with another team right now" followed by a cut to Belichick not on the phone with anyone. And then you see the whiteboard with no other trade offers and realize that they have the Vikings bidding against themselves. That's how you do it. :D
Devious as hell, but I can't even be mad since everybody is playing this game right now and the Pats just set the gold standard in it. Minny still got a decent pick, but even then they must be looking at the vid and saying "son of a bitch!"

He was graded a 3rd round pick. That's a reach and you gotta be right on reaches.

He was graded a 2nd rounder by some people as well. It depends on who you ask. A lot of offensive linemen were going higher than expected. That's just the way this draft turned out so far. Warmack and Cooper were pushed up to the top 10. Pugh, Long and Frederick were pushed up into the bottom of the 1st round. If the Cowboys waited until their second round pick to pick him up, he wouldn't have been there. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of interior linemen were taken higher than they were prospected to be. That's the theme of this draft so far.

Well I mean. You can't say he definitely wouldn't have been there.

And again, you can reach for players. You should draft a guy wherever you want if you are sold on him. But if you miss on that player it's a problem

Well yeah I can't predict the future! :p but Looking at some teams who pick before the Cowboys second rounder: Ravens, Jets, Bills, Chargers and Panthers; they all need help on their interior offensive line. To me personally, it's a safe Bet that he wouldn't have lasted. Especially since he is looked at as the best Center in the draft, and he can also play Guard.

It's pretty front loaded but he's proven that he deserves the payday. Plus it's not going to be too awful when they need to draft fresh blood in three years or so.

The 49ers have selected Tank Carradine

Bills took Robert Woods, WR

Raiders took Menelik Watson,

Carolina took DT Kawann Short from Purdue

Is Mayock seriously the only objective guy at this table? If he wasn't there, this might as well be some random forum yokels reporting.
