The 2013/2014 NBA Thread (LBJ is a Cav)

I'll definitely have to read up on Spurs history. It seems like they got a lot of humble players, the best from around the world. Years ago I got tired of Shaq/Kobe drama and shit like that. A lot of egos just turned me off to the sport.
Hopefully Duncan will stick around for another year for you to enjoy him. Wondering if hes going to Elway this and go out on top

This proved to be the knockout punch. The Heat never got within 5 points of the Spurs again.

was wade as bad as the stat sheet says?
Yes and no. Wade still has "it" and you can see it in very short burst but he is awful if you ask him to play more than 25min a game. He is getting old real fast (cliche). The Heat need him to be Robin to James' Batman and he is definitely not that anymore. Funny enough, I think he would benefit from playing with the Spurs and having his minutes heavily monitored.

I would think LBJ will probably move to another team. Yes, he did get 2 rings in miami but come on, dwade will not be any better. Wade declines every year. Bosh does not have enough power to be 2nd option. LBJ needs real help again. Miami became complacent that LBJ will carry them all the way and it hit them really hard in the finals.

If he leaves, his legacy will be all sorts of jacked up. Some people are going to find it hard to consider him a top player all-time when he needed to jump ship twice to compete for titles. I can't see him leaving Miami.

So Joel Embiid is out with a stress fracture. Embiid plagued with injuries before even playing in the NBA, his stock is falling fast.

Parker and Wiggins going in top 2 most likely.

Must suck to be a Sixers fan right now, they were really hoping to nab Wiggins.

Reports saying Utah offered the #5, Favors, and Burks to the Cavs for the #1 and Jack.

If I were the Cavs I'd consider it if Irving's future with the team was more clear. The guy looks like he's going to jump ship asap so its probably best to draft a potential superstar and hope for the best. Thats a nice offer from the Jazz though, lots of assets to help the team retool.

Nobody wants to play for Cleveland, its getting so bad that Jabari showed up overweight on purpose and tanked the Cavs workout lmao.

Mavs and Knicks close to a deal involving Calderon/Dalembert/Larkin for Felton/Chandler

Would be nice for the Knicks, slight downgrade at the C, but they finally get a PG. Plus they get rid of Felton haha

Pretty decent deal. Larkin being the most valuable piece.

If Phil can somehow move Amare/Bargnani then he is god. My guess is that Dallas is trying to make a play for Melo or Deron Williams.

Melo is going to meet with Dallas.

Good deal for Dallas. Calderon already is in decline and has three more years. As long as the Mavs resign Harris to hedge against fat Felton I am happy with what they did. Plus Carlisle was not a fan of some of the stuff Sammy D pulled. Certainly has trust in Chandler though.

Didn't add too much salary too.

lolknicks with a decent trade!? getting rid of 2 awful players and salary? blasphemy.

Why would mavs be interested in Williams after what we just saw is beyond me.

Melo isn't coming to Mavs so people can get that pipedream out of their head.

All of a sudden Dallas looks more appetizing to free agents after dealing for Mr. Chandler. I like the trade as a whole for both sides, although I HATE losing Shane Larkin. I'm not a fan of his size, but the kid has potential...Calderon and Dalembert have my respect for their contributions to last season's team as well.

If we swing and miss (like the past few years) on a big free agent, then we lost this deal. It's a gamble that Cuban is making but in my opinion it's a low risk deal. Chandler's in the final year of his deal so that expiring deal would give some room to make moves in the 2015 free agent class.

Hoping for the best, but after the last few years I'm not expecting anything huge.

I think Dallas is good shape regardless of whether they land Melo or Lebron. Worse case scenario they can go after Lowry.

I hope the Magic just keep theory two first round picks (and Afflalo) vs trading up.

They can grab Exum or Vonleh at 4 and someone like Nurik or Payne at 12.

Better to pair two promising players with Afflalo, Oladipo, Vuvecic, Harris etc. than take a gamble on Parker or Wiggins being a superstar.

As a Knick fan, love the trade, if for no other reason than Felton is shown the door. The fact that Phil was able to do that and actually get useable pieces back was amazing.

I was just about to post that, i was like how the hell is Woj already on 9.

Where does Dante Exum go now? He refused to work out for Utah and did not want to get picked there because of "their market" and Trey Burke.

lol

I wonder how Exum will work out for the Jazz. He wanted to play for a big market, even denied a workout with the Jazz because of its market.

Wouldn't be surprised if Rondo is pissed about that pick

David Griffin says that most of the trade offers for the #1 pick that were reported by the media never happened. Not really surprising that most of the talk before the draft was just smoke.
