There's belief that Melo figured he could take the money now and force a trade later if things don't turn out well. Which is funny cause if he wants out 2-3 years from now he won't get it with the size of his contract and most likely, decline of his game.Since Melo is staying, he better not ever bitch about losing again, since the Knicks aren't making the playoffs this year or maybe the next. Might better better off for the bulls that melo didnt choose them. they now can go after more than just 1 piece. Gasol & Stephenson sounds better than just melo.
If he thinks he's going to win a staring contest against the Zen Master he should get his head checked. There's belief that Melo figured he could take the money now and force a trade later if things don't turn out well. It's just like any other job. You want to get paid what you feel you are worth.Melo back with the Knicks. Greed>Rings.
The East got good without me knowing? Knicks won 54 games with a bad team, they'll make the playoffs this year.Since Melo is staying, he better not ever bitch about losing again, since the Knicks aren't making the playoffs this year or maybe the next. Might better better off for the bulls that melo didnt choose them. they now can go after more than just 1 piece. Gasol & Stephenson sounds better than just melo.
Exactly, you named all the teams I was gonna name specially since 2 of those teams made the playoffs without their best player in Brooklyn and Atl. Even the Heat after losing lebron still wont be any type of bottom feeder. Hell i was gonna do a maybe on Detroit and completely forgot about Stan so that possibility goes up tremendously.I don't see the Knicks making the playoffs. 8 teams that are better than the Knicks: Raptors, Nets, Bulls, Pacers, Cavs, Hawks, Hornets, Wizards. There's also other teams that could be better: Detroit with Stan Van Gundy, Miami with just Wade and Bosh, and Orlando with their young talent. The Knicks are far from a sure thing for making the postseason.
Salary cap is going to be 80 million in like 2 years. Its a movable contract. There's belief that Melo figured he could take the money now and force a trade later if things don't turn out well. Which is funny cause if he wants out 2-3 years from now he won't get it with the size of his contract and most likely, decline of his game.
Parsons is a solid player, but he's not worth 15 million. He'll be 26 when the season starts - he's probably not going to get better than he is now. Harden and Dwight form a solid nucleus, Beverley might actually shoot more, and the Rockets will be in decent position to make a move in 2015-16, when the cap jumps. The Rockets will let Parsons go to the Mavs.
Must suck to be a Rockets fan, they went from possible super team to a borderline playoff team. Still a long off-season, but they have nothing outside of Harden and Dwight atm. They basically traded Lin, Asik, Parsons and a 1st round pick for Trevor Ariza.
I agree with this, even as a Mavs fan. Parsons is set to make $14.7 mil, $15.37 mil, $16.02 mil (player option on third year) with 15% trade kicker. I have every reason to be upset at this move...but I'm not. Given the current situation at SF in free agency, with Deng and Ariza (who are both 3 years older than Parsons and at their peak) off the market, it is an absolute must to sign him or else it's another year of depending on Matrix to play big minutes. The other option was Lance Stephenson but then we'd be small at the 2 and the 3...I'll take it.Parsons is a solid player, but he's not worth 15 million. He'll be 26 when the season starts - he's probably not going to get better than he is now. Where Houston messed up was not exercising their option to keep Parsons for under a million for next season.
The Hayward deal is dumb. The Jazz could have saved 10 million if they hadn't held firm at 12 and just gave him 13.Lol @ teams that over payed for Parsons,Hayward and Marvin ing Williams.
Just that he doesn't want to be a backup so he's leaving Dallas...I figure he just started looking around when word on the Parsons offer broke. Nothing yet as far as interests but he should have a few contenders interested in him.Still no word on Marion?
With what? They have gutted their roster of most of the quality trade pieces already.Rockets now looking to trade for Love or Rondo
the only reason mchale still has a job in the nba as a coach, is because his connections and from his days as a player. and he was a horrible gm for minnesota, other than drafting kevin garnnet.Mchale is horrible and James Harden is terrible on defense nothing new here. Although Harden can show flashes of playing good D if he wants to as we saw in OKC but he doesn't want to and McHale is really bad at everything. The fact that he's still the coach is mind boggling. As for being the Hawks of the West, that isn't going to happen.
Also - sorry about that long ass post above guys. I needed to get that out of my system. You can only post so much on Twitter where everybody is an idiot.
Don't be sorry. I like reading a fan's analysis on their team (and just the game in general) as long as it's fair criticism/praise and not biased "Refs this, refs that" comments for negative results or bandwagon type comments for success. Also - sorry about that long ass post above guys. We don't have nothing besides Pelicans 1st round pick 4-19 unprotected, Patrick Beverley, and T Jones that are worth trading. Not even close to enough to pry Rondo from Danny Ainge. I know it isn't enough for Love, especially since Flip is asking for the world in return. A third team could get involved but both highly unlikely to happen. With what? They have gutted their roster of most of the quality trade pieces already.
That and the team wants to keep him around to keep working with Dwight on his post moves. Which is stupid to me because we have Hakeem that'll do that shit for free.the only reason mchale still has a job in the nba as a coach, is because his connections and from his days as a player. and he was a horrible gm for minnesota, other than drafting kevin garnnet.
danny ainge has been dangling rondo for years. i highly doubt any team will trade for rondo due to ainge's asking price. unless a team like new york with james dolan as owner, when they traded for carmelo anthony. lolWe don't have nothing besides Pelicans 1st round pick 4-19 unprotected, Patrick Beverley, and T Jones that are worth trading. Just over 8 mil a year.. He took a 14 million dollar pay cut and didn't even talk to teams who wanted to pay him more..what a champ.Dirk re-signed 3 year $25 million.
He's hoping to cash in after his 2nd year by opting out. I like the fit for the Hornets though.Stephenson to the Hornets for 3 years 27 million. He will make $200,000 more per year but it's a shorter contract than what Indy was offering. Not sure if should be relieved or disappointed.
