Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Still can't believe I got like $200 credit for my launch ps4 towards a ps5 back this time in 2022. They've gotten really bad at values recently.

My naive self thought if I waited, it'd still be like $350 or so, $330 at worst. If I hadn't gone for that $410 value, I'd have lost out on $110 credit... 😬

damn so they are really are banking on customers coming in only during black friday and christmas week for the good sales. That honestly sucks.
More like customers rolling on the TIV roulette this Holiday season. They're going all in banking on hope.

PSA: Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is out.

Ugh, $49.99...can upgrade for $10, but the physical version is so pretty (>m<)

I haven’t been paying attention to Switch TiVs, but: is $100 after the weekly bonus good / decent for the non-OLED Switch? I have a launch console (so it’s hackable) but I don’t trust selling on eBay. Just want to get some value out of it because I feel like by the time the Switch 2 comes out, TiVs might be worse.

They'll probably have a trade in deal towards the Switch 2 that'd value your console for more than a sad $100.

Is the 20% bonus for any preorder or specific ones? The website doesn’t really say.
I traded towards Astro Bot PS5 yesterday and that got the 20% bonus, if you are looking for a "New" game that triggers the bonus. Also, it triggered the $10 off Pro Renewal, so added another year for $14.99. It will be $19.99 later this month without a purchase.

So $60 trade credit for og white 360 ? To get the extra $30 i have to trade towards what ? Will a defective white 360 get as much ?
It was via an active offer on an account. I believe Saturday was the last day to use them. There were also 10% bonus trade on Tech, 30% trade bonus on games, and I think one other. I only had the tech offer on my account, but no use to me.

You can get around $57 trading in everything but the tablet itself if they take the straps and joy con grip. I do think there may be a better deal soon, but that’s a gamble and not based on anything other than a guess,

Will be trading in my OLED - does GS allow you to get two bonuses for a console preorder (assuming there’s a deal for the Switch 2)?

Ah, good point, and that’s without an ongoing controller bonus right now. I can’t remember everything that is included:

Tablet
Joycons
Grip
Straps
Ac Charger
Dock
HDMI

Is that everything? So if I do all of the above without the tablet itself, it’ll be $57? Hmmmm…

Indeed this is the way, dock dropped but to $24.20 so I might be off was an even $25 before. Straps are $0.50 I think when they take them. Joy Cons are also an odd amount at $28.60 for the pair, the grip is $1.10. So $54.90 assuming they take everything.

I noticed in store the deal....get $10 off power up rewards new/renewal when you buy a new game.

So anyone know if you can stack? and if active can it be at any point?

I plan on getting a new game with my Aug2025 membership. Will the deal work for a renewal at $15?

I don't believe you can stack renewals any more. POS may allow it, but I want to say policy says no. My membership is up in March and I was able to renew instore yesterday. I'm not sure if the is a time constraint tied to when you can renew or not.

I'm talking about interest rates for standard savings account.

Edit:
Granted that's only one data point: Wells Fargo shitty basic savings account.
There’s savings accounts and money market accounts still offering over 4.5%. If you’re getting less you ain’t doing it right

Hell, I remember getting $400 for my launch PS4 when I got my PS4 pro

These times are different with inflation going on. Also, in case you haven't noticed we still haven't seen a price drop on the base PS5 disc model, while the digital model is increased in price.

Ugh, my GS.com order is lost in shipment and it's impossible to reach a human via their customer service line. Worst part is that I know better than to buy from GS.com...

Also, I noticed that my "Rewards Activity" history doesn't add up to my "Current Points" number and thus, I can't redeem my points for rewards certificates. Like, my history is a 10,000 point difference between my current total. Any idea what's going on? Can in-store GS see the correct points on my account?

How did you select store pickup for an unreleased item?
It was available to order for pickup yesterday and I was able to see stock numbers at all the stores in my area. The option has since gone away. I didn't complete the order as I didn't want to tie up credit if it was cancelled, but it fully was letting me place the order if I wanted to with the in store pickup discount.

I don’t know about the points, but redeeming points for certificates has been broken for a few days now.

Seems it's fixed now that we've finally arrived at the release date

Except the sales tax is calculated incorrectly, it’s like 3% higher on the total for the PS5 Pro than any other retailer in my region. I checked my home address, selected other stores, etc. The sales tax number doesn’t change. The higher sales tax just negates the whole pick up discount.

To anyone who has the courage, gcx.raise.com has $500 giftcards for $425.24. I am considering it on the pro in store but I'm worried if the giftcard eventually gets flagged. Can gamestop retroactively charge me the difference.

I did a $500 and two $200. If you sign up for their texts, you can get an extra 3% off.

It came out to a little under $600 for $700 in credit. Used it as soon as the cards came available and placed an order for pick up at Gamestop.

Came out to about $625 after tax for the Pro.

Gamestop let's you put more then 1 giftcard per order online? If so, what's the limit.

Now, i just need to call the store when they open to make sure they have the pro in stock and they won't cancel my online order. The $25 off plus the $100 I'd save in buying discounted giftcards is a win.

I was thinking of ordering online for pickup as well, but my worry is preorder inventory is included in stock shown online, so my order would get cancelled upon store open. Definitely a good idea to call prior and hope they answer the phone.

Remember that Dollar General typically has 10~15% off GameStop gift cards around this time of year. So before you go after sketch sites, consider that approach.

I took the chance and all 3 giftcards worked. With the 3 percent bonus for enabling text. I saved $122.35 plus the percent back on my card. Best deal I could I find. Order is confirmed and I did call the store when they opened to make sure. The spend 250 save 25 gets voided but still worth it if you want a pro day 1.

It gets voided if you use a gift card?

For me it did. I think you have spend $250 in cash. Since I used $700 in credit. I only spent about $35 so that's why I think they removed it. It was on my final checkout screen until I added the giftcards. At that point, I'm fully invested and have to make the purchase. I had a feeling it would be removed so it didn't bother me.
