I watched the Haruhi episode too I thought it was alright. I hope this series is less confusing than the first (in terms of watching order).

I just finished watching Heat Guy J. I thought it was awesome; I loved every minute of it. I really enjoyed how the show was able to get me to smile during almost all of the fight scenes. It's because J is such a bad ass character and because he always has some new saying about how a man should act. I totally recommend the show if you have not seen it.

I've already read the fourth novel so I know generally what the plot will be. I think I'll wait until the entire season is out before watching it. There are a few scenes from the novel I'm looking forward to seeing in animated form. Now I just need to wait for Spice and Wolf 2 and that'll be it for me.

Regarding Welcome to the NHK, I'm interested in watching due to some great reviews here (or on the Rightstuf clearance thread, they're basically the same thread anymore) it but am put off by the reviews on Netflix that categorize it as "as close to hentai as they come."

Does it really take things that far?

I just realized that if there's a 2nd season of Haruhi, could a 2nd season of Lucky Star be far behind? Or will they wait until after the 3rd season of Code Geass?

I just watched the first 3 epsides of Eureka Seven, and I must say that I like it.

Is anyone watching Eden of the East? I think it's this season's best new show. Just like Denno Coil was a couple years ago. Why was that never licensed? That show was fantastic, and I really wish I could own a copy.

I am, but it's not that good. Everyone's spazzing out over how awesome it is, but I don't get the hype at all.

Denno Coil was not that good. The characters were absolutely terrible.

Glad at least someone else other than me likes it, haha. I also just downloaded Dennou Coil based on your recommendation (and reading the synopsis on ANN). ;)

I watched Howl's Moving Castle for the first time yesterday (thanks again, TLP). It was a strange but awesome movie, like all of Miyazaki's works I guess. Different than I expected though.

What are you currently watching?

I just watched the first 2 eps of Cowboy Bebop. This is supposedly one of the best dubs? Really? I mean, I guess the main two characters have good English VAs, but most of the side characters have awful dub voices IMO... ugh (I noticed this espeically on episode 2). I might switch to Japanese audio if it doesn't get any better.

Imbeciles on Netflix...

"Ok this is hilarious this one is not for the kiddies adults only... But like I said not for the Kiddies this is close to being a Hentai Well I liked it you might too .Thank you for your time and I hopes this helped"

I saw a few similar comments elsewhere, but the other Netflix reviews were a bit more helpful and cleared things up. Thanks for the information!
When did this happen?
Just wishful thinking for now.
Never.
Don't count out a 3rd season yet.

Never used netflix before, but the people leaving reviews don't seem like the brightest. Enjoy Welcome to the nhk, it's an awesome show.

Yeah, I liked Tokyo as well. Not sure I'd watch it again, but it was worthwhile.

So... anyone watching Shangri-la? If Spice and Wolf was microeconomics, this show is definitely macroeconomics. Def. worth a watch.

I finished Moon Phase today. It was decent. Not great, not awful. Kinda cute. It was a good show to watch mindlessly. Love the opening song though, haha ("Neko Mimi Mode").

Also, for Fullmetal Alchemist: Sub or Dub?

I've seen a few episodes of the dub, and Al's voice is pretty annoying. Do the other characters make up for it though?

Eh, I'd go subbed. The dub is very competent, but as you said, Al and a few others bring it down a bit.

Reading is what manga is for, not anime. Don't let one voice put you off the dub.

finally a naruto manga with a decent ending though they did drag that story on for way too damn long. cant wait for whats next for konoha.

I'm a bit indifferent to the latest Naruto manga. While I didn't think it was as horrible as Moxio thought, I was a bit annoyed by the deus ex machina style storytelling that seems to be more evident in Western comics*. Really? Did they really just do it so that
everyone's favorite character wouldn't be killed off and please the fanboiz? And if Nagato really did possess such ability, under the presumption that he could theoretically bring back anyone who freshly died (read: hours or minutes), couldn't he have just killed his friend Yahiko to satisfy Hanzo, kill Hanzo's group when they betrayed him and then bring Yahiko back to life? And even if it cost him his own life, wouldn't Yahiko, supposedly a beloved best friend, merit such a technique?

Despite my above misgivings, I am looking forward to seeing how Naruto will fulfill Nagato's and his own dreams w/o compromising either one.

*I'm looking at you DC -
Jason Todd
/Marvel -
Scarlet Witch
as a few examples

How can you read what you just typed and NOT think the latest manga was awful? He basically just made the entire Pain arc completely pointless: only thing different now is that Konoha is destroyed.

well just be glad that storyline is over thats really what i was happiest about and that one surprise.i hope they give some insihgt as to why the other kingdoms didnt help out especially the sand kindgom.

For me, the story is about plot, not plot device or more bluntly, 'why' instead of 'how'. If Nagato did something similar like
bring back only Jaraiya or Kakashi but at the cost of every other person who died in the attack
, I'd still say the same thing in my other post. I'd be annoyed by it briefly but move on to as to why it was done. Just like in DBZ, even if 10 or 20 chapters are about how they're building up their Super-Saiyanness, I'd still be interested in the 11th or 21st chapter explaining why they had to go to such extreme lengths.

Yeah I thought the Naruto ending was pretty lame too. I really liked the whole arc though. I was so confident in my prediction of Nagato giving Naruto his Rinnegan though.:whistle2:#

Yeah I though about dead Yahiko too when we learned how Nagato could resurrect people. You're dead on jayrue.

How could you be confident in a retarded prediction like that? There's absolutely no basis for that--and I use the word in the loosest sense--theory.

I'm with Moxio. It was a really lame ass cop out.

Ugh I'm getting tired of the back and forth about the lastest Naruto chapter already. I thought it was written well at least. There was a real sad and somber feel to it. Didn't like what Pain did with that last jutsu though.

Ok I got something better to fanwank argue about. Pain vs Itachi, who would win? Now that we've seen what all they can do I'm still not sure. Itachi had his sharingan and that Suzano technique. Pain could control anyone by hitting them with those black rods and he had that black hole technique. I would give Itachi the edge if his sharingan could work on Pain. I was hoping for a possible fight between Pain and Madara but guess that won't happen now.

Are there any websites out there to have a wishlist of animie's a person would like to buy? There are quite a few series I would like to purchase but it would be nice to catalog what I want to buy so I remember, or for gifting, if someone wanted to buy me something.

(Edited my post. Sorry about that.)

I've been watching Cowboy Bebop. I've gotten through the first 2 discs (10 episodes). It gets better and better. The first 2 episodes were kinda "meh," but from then on it's been great. I've stayed with the dub and am glad I did. I'll probably re-watch it in Japanese w/ subs eventually though. It was interesting hearing/reading the commentary from the Japanese VAs on the 1st episode, hehe. Also, love the soundtrack for this series.

The prophecy did say someone with the Rinnegan would bring revolution to the ninja world. Pain didn't do that. He brought to life a bunch dead people.

It was just a prediction. They can be wrong. Jesus Christ.

What're you talking about? The revolution hasn't come yet.

This has nothing to do with the prediction. It's that all the damage that was done, which was really important, was reversed. It pretty much ruined the point of the whole arc and boiled it down to "Akatsuki has two fewer members."
Has anyone here ever read Arigatou?

It's one of my favorite mangas.
A depressing story about how a Japanese family's life goes wrong: an immoral protagonist, her sister who was gang raped before, her alcoholic mother who later devoted her life to a cult, and her father who lost favor with his company.... full of sexual content and highly violent.

Hmmm... Good enough for me. Will check it out. It does have a story beyond the fap material, right?

Just finished watching Fruits Basket (anime). It was great and definitely had some touching moments. If I had to give it a rating, I'd say 8/10. I'm thinking of reading the manga just to find out what happens next, starting where the anime left off. Or is it worth it to read it from the beginning?

The one thing I found weird about it though was that
almost all the guys looked like girls, and most of them dressed up in girls clothing at least once.
Is that just a shoujo thing or what, haha?

Also, I've gotten through a lot of Cowboy Bebop (2 discs left). Even though I recently got the ending spoiled for me :)bomb:), I guess I'm just enjoying the ride. It's not a show I would sit and marathon through, but it's cool to watch one or two episodes at a time and just enjoy it. I usually blow through shows like that in a week or less, so it's nice to take it in a little a time for a change, heh. Some of the extras on the discs are entertaining as well (ie. Yoko Kanno's commentary on ep. 17.
Totally different than I expected she would be, haha
).

Season 1 or 2? Either way, yeah. Totally fucking sweet.

I agree with Kirin, but you could contact the seller and ask them what company's name is on it. And don't let the "wood box" fool you I've seen some damn fine quality bootlegs. That's a weird oxymoron, damn fine quality bootlegs.
