I love how the one company I freelance for is so studious in paying me. Every Friday checks in my mail box. Never fails...even when the guy was out of town he still managed to pay me on Friday.


But then the other company I work for.....these Nigger's never get around to paying me. I have to send like 10 emails and 5 voice mails to "remind" them they owe me money.


I have taken to the habit of "forgetting" were all their footage is until they can pay me. Its work well so far. Bastards.
 
Hey guys, I need a program for keeping an eye on the temperature of my laptop... the fucker overheats and just quits -- apparently this is a common problem on t60p models... anyone know of a program I can use to monitor the temperature?

What the hell is a zinger?


Found it. Its a program called speed fan. It tells you the temp...and it also allows for you to turn your fan up or down depending on what you want. I used it for my computer..but I am sure it will work for your laptop.

Wish I could get a legit job (its what I really want to get into). Though its fun making skateboarding videos and the pay is good (when you can get work), its not what I really want to do for the rest of my life when it comes to film. Or hell, if anyone knows anyone that is willing to poney up about a quarter mill, I have a script all set to go.

Your a film guy huh? Where do you live?

And I dont really have a "legit" job. Being a freelancer is cool....but sucks balls a lot to. Instead of working at one place...I work at 5. All with 5 different producers and 5 different crews. Shit can get really frustrating sometimes when I never know what the hell I am doing for the week.

This week...I had nothing planned. Come Tuesday...all of a sudden all 5 companies want me to work on stuff for them. So now I have gigs W,T,F,Sat, Sun.

The cool thing is that you get to go all over the world (though I havent yet) and meet tons of differnt people.


Why dont you PA for a couple of film crews or production houses until you build enough contacts to get hired somewhere. Thats what I did.

Thanks.[/quote]Ran into the same issue with my aunt-in-law's laptop. Thankfully it did it right before the warranty ran out, though it took 3 hours to get it back under warranty, as HP didn't have it under warranty correctly.

Fan problems aren't any fun. Shouldn't that T60p still be under warranty?

I just won't mind a job that I can actually put on my resume (I tend to get looked down upon me when they see that I really only have skateboarding videos as experiance).

As for where I live, I'm about an hour outside of Chicago and Milwaukee and I have put in for some PA work but man is that shit job competative around here. I tend to get over looked by fuckers with a film degree (would kill to go to VFS but I just can never afford it).

I don't know that it's a fan problem persay. From what I've been able to find online, indications point to it being something faulty in the design -- like the original RROD 360s. It's not like it dies randomly on any normal instance -- it's only when the processor is heavily taxed.

From what I've found, unplugging the machine as it gets hot will save it (running off the battery).
 
Bahaha. Someone at my work got fired for a bunch of egregious offenses. They had to keep him on payroll as he went through a ridiculous appeals process up to the Director of our Department. (which is about 4 levels above me), who has final appeal power through our company's bylaws and such.

The guy since having his final appeal denied has since barged into the president's office (who threw him out), and since gone to the VP of the company (who told him that the Director has final say). So now he's sent out an email to entire company explaining why he was fired (of course he twisted it to make it sound like he's an innocent bystander), and telling us if we don't do anything we are all guilty by association and that the man will crush all of us too.

I didn't buy it, but then again, I was one of the people who got him in trouble.

Time to call IBM and have someone fix the damned thing with a new system board.

It was weird, one set of iPod headphones didn't work, but the next day I tried another set and they did. Must have been slightly longer.

Either way, I did end up finding my iPhone headphones, which is a relief, since it has music control and the ability for me to have a phone conversation with them.

Though to to be fair, (outside of FFVI) I picked some shitty games. I got Planet Puzzle League and three fillers to be exchanged (Drawn To Life, Rune Factory and Touch Detective 2 1/2)
