I noticed that this thread has been dead for a while so I contacted the author and she agreed to let me take over...so we are starting a minty fresh, brand-spanking-new Toys R Us clearance game thread....

I have put the last 2 entries under spoilers so we wouldn't lose that data but most of it is pretty old...I will probably delete the stuff that goes back to early 2010 as it is really irrelevant....so we are gonna start small here....I have a few updates to post from my ventures out today..

I would like to keep this thread in the spirit of the Target Clearance Game thread so I will be setting it up like that...

Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numerous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

For the most part, prices are universal! Though there will always be exceptions...

Just like Nintendo has done with the Wii, Sony has basically left PSP behind. It has the fewest releases of all current gaming platforms (even the DS is getting more support). It might as well be considered last-gen at this point.

Our TRU don't even have any PSP games in a glass showcase any more. I literally stacked all PSP games on the floor and carried them to the price scanner(?).[/QUOTE]

I can confirm these saw them at the store in Joliet, Illinois.

Yeah i think thats my issue and probably alot of others.At least i know it can and does work properly,haha.I had problems walking around in the game,but finally got used to it after a while.
 
It should be noted that most of the 9.98 games mentioned for PSP are part of a generic item SKN along with some PS2 and Wii games, so you probably can't look them up individually.

This is correct. These $9.98 clearance games are provided by the same vendor that supplies all the $19.99 super buy games. You can tell them apart by the generic UPC sicker on the back of the games.

its not looking good for nintendo, but even i admit that I have stopped buying wii games (especially if they are offered on 360/ps3 platforms).

I think everything will work out for Nintendo within the next year, but they are definitely in a weird place right now. It feels like they suddenly stopped caring about what they do. I'd like to think they are just focusing all of their attention on Wii U and are urging developers to do the same, but it's hard to tell what's going on from this side of the fence. All I know is that the number of releases has dwindled significantly. Hell, there isn't even a lot of shovelware coming out right now. Like you said, it doesn't look good...but I remain hopeful that looks will be deceiving in this case. Unlike so many people, I'm really looking forward to Wii U and the inevitable explosion of Nintendo goodness.

But for now, the 360 has all of my attention because it currently has the most activity that I care about. They're really putting me off with the new dashboard, though; I might focus more on PS3 once that's released to the public.

I already did that anyway. Don't get me wrong, I love the Wii, but I prefer playing on the Xbox. Compared to Wii and PS3, it feels much more welcoming. The other consoles feel like they're shut off from the world whereas the 360 is always presenting me with new stuff. It's basically the only console that I buy multi-platform games for. 99% of the games I get for Wii and PS3 are exclusives. Thankfully, they both have a shit-load of exclusives, so it all works out quite well for me.
 
I'm sure it's almost useless to ask due to demand, but if ANYBODY out there is near a store that has a CoD: BlOps Hardened Edition in stock, please let me know what it would run me to get some help getting my hands on that game.

It may seem like a dumb question but are all of the clearance prices on the OP "in-store" prices? I've seen some of those games online @ those prices but when I had couple of them scanned on Tuesday / Wednesday they were full price.
 
I'm still looking for "good" clearance games... lol. Best I've found so far (in Columbus, Ohio) is Prince of Persia Wii ($9.98 final price), Bioshock 2 PS3 ($9.98 final price), Assassin's Creed 2 PS# ($14.98 final price). I really want the Wii version of Call of Duty 3, so if anyone finds it hit me up via PM for a trade. Thanks.

No, the prices in the OP are the lowest reported drops but they vary from store-to-store.
 
I guess I was a little late on the fishing bundle. I already have the dangerous hunt bundle so I did not pay close attention to the clearance thread.

My 9 year old son is in the hospital and LOVES fishing (and fishing games). Online stock checker looked like it was sold out by me, but my wife did not give up and had TRU employees calling around town.

Very happy she found one on the way to the hospital to give to my son and another near where the TRU employee lives. He will get it transferred so we can give it to the son of the friend who is watching our other children.

Awesome customer service from TRU! I have never experienced anything else there.

Almost every ps3 title was $34.xx. armored core 4, kung fu panda, some mixed sports games, can't remember what else I laughed at

Got "volunteered" to work on a project at my job that's consumed me the last 36+ hrs, so sorry for the late reply, but that's the feeling I like imagining as well! I used to collect coins as well but gave it up in high school, having never owned an uncirculated coin, so your lucky:D

But back on topic, got bit by the Skylanders bug, so made my fourth round on this glorious last day of the B2G1 and picked up 15 of the figures earlier today. Ok, I'm done for real this time:cool:

Nice score. You have no idea how hard it was for me to not buy those stupid Spyro figures. I don't even think the game is going to be all that great, but I loved the old Spyro games and a lot of those guys look really cool. I would've been all over these last month or next month, but I sadly had to pass on them tonight. I just hope I'll manage to find the exclusive/rare-ish ones for a fair price once I actually have money.

Are any of the skylanders going to be rare? I've seen a ton of them around. I guess not a big seller in my area. TRU, Target, and Best Buy seemed to move only a few units this week.

I've seen tons of them at many stores as well, so not sure if any are rare or ever will be, but figured the B2G1 was a great opportunity to pick some up. Now, I can start checking my list against whats available in other stores to see if there are any cooler ones I'm missing.

Worked 4 straight days and missed the drop on the Rapala games. This royall sucks because I spent 3 days last week looking for a deal on this combo to see if the pole worked with Sega Bass Fishing on XBLA.

Now even Best Buy drops it to $29 and all the stores around me have sold out!

Some of them are definitely going to be rare, but I don't know about any of the ones that are currently on shelves. There are some exclusives that won't be around long, though. And there's a TRU exclusive that you can only get by spending $100 on Skylanders stuff between now and Christmas Eve.

What exclusive, I thought they were just giving you a voucher for one of the $7.99 ones. I've spent close to $100, I think I only need less than $10, I bought six 3-packs and three singles during the b2g1 sale last week.

EDIT: From what I can gather from reading a few forums is that there is a legendary version of Trigger Happy that will be the exclusive.
 
Could use some advice. My local TRU has six Cabela's yet not a single rep can find them. The system stated it was on the floor though after 15 minutes no one in the store could find them. In the end I was told they're probably not in stock or sold out.

Based on what I have seen on my local TRU; the workers that are in the video game area that know of the deals tend to put them under the video game cashier desk until off work and then buy them allfuck; maybe if you gotten earlier you would have gotten at least one; I have seen them do it when I used to buy the clearance games last year...
 
It seems like people are going crazy over these Cabela games all of a sudden... What's the deal with that? I always thought these games were considered kind of a joke. Are they finally making decent games or what? I'm genuinely curious because our TRU had a few of these last night. Same goes for Rapala, although it was quite expensive in my opinion.

Yeah, after I bought Cabela and Rapala for $10 each (way on the top shelf), I actually saw the remaining copies later on behind the desk.

I never cared about the games before,but since it dropped to $9.98,figured i'd give Cabela's a try.Its kinda scary with alot of animals jumping out at you.The gun pretty much sucks though,unfortunately.
 
If it's a good game and gun, then sure. But I've never known these games to be good and it sounds like the gun's not so great, so it currently seems like it is quite easy to beat. Heh.

Really?! FML i didn;t even bother to check, I asked the girl and she looked in the storage rooms, but didn't find anything. She even said " i think i saw some, let me check" . I hate when they go into that locked room. Thats the second time i try to find a clearance game there and they don't have it.
 
Yeah, like the other person mentioned, all the remaining copies were probably behind the desk because one of the employees was going to buy them himself.
 
Anyone know if that Power Gig listed is the bundle or just the game itself? Newegg's got the game alone for $5, but apparently it sucks?

Still want the guitar though :)
