"The Bad Guy" Razor Ramon: Wrestling Thread

I think they'll have "Daniel Bryan" be a Miz creation, leading to Danielson-Miz for a title at some point, possibly on Raw. Have Bret win the title, then vacate it and say that he wants to see it defended by a man who can do it justice, and have Danielson come out and beat Miz in a match for the newly-vacated title.

What the fucking fuck at this SD spoiler.

Kofi Kingston defeated Christian to win the WWE Intercontinental Title. Unfortunately for Kofi, Teddy Long arrived and said he was instructed by Vince McMahon to reinstate Drew Mcintyre, and to give him his title back. Drew Mcintyre is once again your WWE Intercontinental Champion.

The E must seriously hate those two. :whistle2:|

SD spoiler related

That works for me, they're trying to get people to hate McIntyre, and it sets up matches between those 3 pretty well.

in regards to the spoiler

there was a story earlier about how WWE had no idea what direction they were going to be taking the mcintyre storyline into. guess they just decided to go with a triple threat storyline
After reading the Danielson promo, it sounds awesome. "Daniel Bryan never wrestled on the independent scene, but I know another guy who used to kick people's heads in and beat the crap out of other wrestlers. His name is Bryan Danielson. Daniel Bryan is dead. He can't even beat Rookies."

Can't wait to see how Bryan does as himself. Impressed that WWE recognized how over he was and how talented he really is.
I saw Danielson's promo on NXT. He received a nice pop when he mentioned the name 'Bryan Danielson.'

WWE recognizing how over Danielson is with fans, old and new alike, is definitely impressive. I'm thrilled Danielson will be able to use his name and build up its value with what-ever push WWE gives him. "Daniel Bryan" was a terrible moniker.

I hope they give Danielson a fair chance to make himself a star. Imagine a WWE where Chris Jericho is a mega-heel and Bryan Danielson is a super-face. That would be very interesting.

David Otunga is particularly colorless.

Justin Gabriel will make for a solid, perennial mid-carder who fluctuates as the holder of the Intercontinental championship. Wade Barrett probably has the best chance in vying for a World championship.

I dunno if anyone hear has watched FCW developmental, but Wade Barrett is the best commentator I have heard in years. They had him and Byron Saxton as a two man team while Barrett was hurt. Wade straight up channels Jesse Ventura and as far as heel announcing goes he makes striker look like a joke.

Maybe he really is JBL 2.0. I was happiest with JBL when he got hurt and became the smackdown commentator. I'm not saying I want Wade Barrett to have a permanent injury, but if anyone had a calling to do commentary after their wrestling career was over its this guy.

Wade Barret's biggest plus is that he can talk with the best of them. The only thing holding Wade back is his in ring ability, which is by no means terrible. He just needs to polish his game up. I foresee big things for Wade Barret in the future.

Although I loved JBL, Wade Barrett seems to be a superior wrestler. he's by far my favorite NXT rookie.

Even before last night's eliminations, I would have done things as such- 1 Raw contract winner; 1 Smackdown contract winner. Then I'll state what I'd do with the rest:

Wade Barrett: Raw contract winner

Justin Gabriel: Smackdown contract winner

Daniel Bryan: Pretty much what it looks like they're doing now.

Heath Slater: I like the kid, even though he can be annoying. Bring him up as a lower card SD guy.

David Otunga: I'm on the fence here. He impressed em a lot in the firs half of the show, but not so much lately. Try him out as maybe hosting a talk show on Raw, leading to matches down the line.

Skip Sheffield: Send to FCW for more seasoning. Has some potential on the mic, and is a big, strong dude.

Michael Tarver: Fired for real. Man, that guy has nothing to offer.

Darren Young: Eliminated; sent back to FCW.

Tarver was like a black CAW. Guy had absolutely no redeeming qualities. I'd take an hour-long Shannon Moore/Orlando Jordan Tuxedo match over Tarver.

Kurt's new movie...

I just don't see Bryan being popular like CM Punk was...you know, as the IWC's champion who just blew up mainstream

Too forced.

A huge name from the Smackdown roster makes his return tonight on Superstars. For those who want to know, it's
Curt Hawkins. He's teaming with a man making his Smackdown brand debut, Vance Archer. Archer and the horrible Tyler Reks were "signed" to Smackdown right after the supplemental draft, in case you missed it.

That River Of Darkness film looks like complete and utter shit... makes me want to watch that shitty Nightmare On Elm Street remake again which is godly awesome in comparison.

WWE's last unofficial offer to Jeff Hardy before he went to TNA had a $750,000 downside where he would only have to work 65 dates a year, giving him the biggest break on the schedule out of any WWE stars, including Shawn Michaels.

Obviously Hardy turned the deal down as he was upset that nobody backed him after his drug arrest and he was upset over the promos that WWE had CM Punk cut on him after he left the company. The feeling was that Hardy wasn't with the company at the time and the promos from Punk weren't business as they weren't used to build a match.

I read that and laughed

That's life....at the time you feel disrespected. He'll look back on it and go "....da fuck did I just do????"

I mean, unless he really REALLY enjoys being apart of TNA...

Maybe, but you have to remember WWE can copyright it. If Danielson went on to become a megastar using his own name he'd have the power to take his name and stardom with him if he decided to split. The name doesn't mean anything, it's just a way for WWE to wisely cover their hide. When you think about it, letting him use his real name might seem a little like they don't plan on that ever happening.
Only nowhere near as good as JBL was in the ring.
Truly, he is a rasslin' god.

JBL has poor in-ring skills but is excellent on the mic. :)

You bring up a solid point. WWE allowing Danielson to use his name may be a sign that they'll bury him. I hope they don't.

Unfortunately it’s not good news for WWE Women’s Champion, Beth Phoenix. The Glamazon has been diagnosed with a torn ACL after suffering an injury at last week’s SmackDown tapings in a match against Rosa Mendes.

It had been hoped that the injury was a minor ankle injury — Beth was taken off last week’s Mexican tour which took place immediately after the taping in order to rest up and return in time for this week’s SmackDown taping in her hometown of Buffalo, New York. However, it became apparent that the injury is much more severe than first thought. Sources suggest that Phoenix could be out of action for an upward of six months.

Fans will see how WWE handles her injury on tomorrow’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Phoenix’s injury is the same one that fellow three-time Women’s Champion, Melina is on the sidelines with.

Ouch

Man... so 2 of the top face women are out now- 1 on each brand. I guess the belt will probably go back to McCool. She's the only other one on Smackdown with any talent. The rest of the Smackdown divas, minus Beth and Michelle?

Kelly Kelly
Tiffany
Layla
Rosa Mendes
Serena (never wrestled a match on TV)

... Yeah.

And I have been thinking about this for a while- have you guys ever realized that the only 2 people to beat Sheamus by pinfall (he's never submitted, but likely will on Raw vs. Cena) are Triple H (Elimination Chamber; WrestleMania) and... Goldust? I clearly remember Goldust sweeping Sheamus off the ropes and giving him his first ECW loss.

That's gonna leave a huge crater in the Women's Division. If WWE was smart, they'd finally push Gale Kim and give her a legitimate title run, but that would make too much sense, now wouldn't it?

The problem is that she is on Raw. They should trade her to SD in exchange for, uh... Rose and Kelly just came over, I don't want Serena going anywhere, and Layla's perfect teaming with Michelle. So, Tiffany? Then again, Vickie, as the Raw GM, could trade for Layla since they've been aligned.

Oh, and Sheamus needs a match at Over The Limit. He could renew his rivalry with Goldust! LOL. Actually, I'd have him beat Evan Bourne. Sheamus would get in most of the offense, then Bourne would go on a flurry, head up for Air Bourne, miss, then get pump kicked and Razor's edged for the win. I'd also add The Colons vs. Morrison & Truth to the card, with DiBiase at ringside.

And I'm glad they're building up the tag team scene, reuniting The Colons, teaming up those 2 jobbers from Smackdown on Superstars (no spoilers here), and adding Jericho & Miz. The only thing is, The Miz should be defending the US Title, and Jericho should be a main event heel. But they do need more teams, and both guys are excellent heels and great in tag teams. It's just funny that they've earned a tag title shot without ever having teamed together on TV.

fucking over Cryme Time just as the tag teams start getting together...fuck that noise.

It could just be me, but Tiffany did really well her first night wrestling on SD (sans the traditional Diva Dropkick). I could see them giving the belt to her, or at least putting her into the title scene. But it's the women's division, so nobody cares.

As many have reported, Bryan Danielson was slated to win WWE's 1st season of NXT. But since he was eliminated on Tuesday that is no longer the case. The current idea that is going around is for Bryan to continue feuding with the Miz, which would end with Miz dropping the title to Bryan on a PPV. After the program with the Miz, Bryan Danielson would go into a program with Chris Jericho and fight for the "I'm the best in the world at what I do" tag which Bryan is known to be in the indies and what Chris Jericho claims to be in the WWE.

 Pleasepleaseplease, if this is true, don't fuck this up too badly, WWE.

I wonder if the speedy eliminations were to get NXT over with before the Fatal 4 Way PPV - that way they can put the winner in one of those title matches.

Before they have Bryan fued with Miz and Jericho, I hope they just build him up a little. Next week would be a perfect opportunity. Have Santino challenge Bryan to a fight, claiming that last week was a fluke. Also, have Santino call him Daniel Bryan or completely botch his name like only Santino can, at which point Bryan clearly announces that he is now Bryan Danielson. Have the match, let Santino get in some of his goofy offense before Bryan tries for another small package. Santino kicks out, parades around a little in excitement, and then Bryan throws him into whatever his WWE finisher will be, Cattle Mutilation or something different.

I think they'll stick with that heel hook - it would look very awkward for someone to drag themselves to the ropes while in Cattle Mutilation

Well, it depends on how strong they plan to sell the Cattle Mutilation. If it's STFU/Liontamer painful, then getting the the ropes isn't even a problem. On the other hand, if it's Walls of Jericho painful, getting to the ropes would be an issue for anyone higher than midcard.

What a shit show. I enjoyed the opening segment since it at least set up a good match, although it was enjoyable for some bad reasons as well. Namely, RVD being just kinda there, and AJ YELLING TO GET HIS POINT ACROSS. TBP's promo was also nothing special, and Tara-Taylor was bland. WHY THE HELL IS TARA WINNING MATCHES WHEN SHE'S LEAVING THE COMPANY!? Job. Her. Out. Also, her spider tat is terrible.

The rape angle sure was rushed, literally. The segments for it lasted like 30 seconds, and some couldn't be heard well because a million people were in the background yelling. This was just groan-inducing stuff, and reminded me of Goldberg being detained in WCW for allegedly attacking Liz. Hogan removing his mask and then covering his head with the hoodie was a cute touch, but the cops probably should've actually cuffed him given that he's, you know, a psycho monster who loves throwing people into glass, tacks, and barb wire.

Williams-Kendrick was a fine little match for the three minutes it was given. I liked Taz on commentary bringing up that Kaz, who was also on commentary, should just go take his rightful title belt, which he attempted to do after jabbering about it for a minute, leading to Douglas losing and grabbing the belt.

Morgan killing GeMe was about what expected, then Joe came out and killed him so the Band could lumber down and unearth the Feat or Fired case to win the gold. Well, at least they pinned someone to win the belts instead of just opening the case to win it instantly. Can't wait to see them lose the belts by having EY do the job. I think this was the first TNA title win of any kind for Nash, and definitely the first one for Hall, which was kinda neat for historical purposes, but what good can be done with them as champs?

Ink Inc. cutting a Reaction-style promo that was supposed to be taking place after the Outsiders win, but was during Douglas Williams's entrance since you could hear his theme playing and Penzer introing him, was a fine example of TNA needing a continuity editor. There's no good reason this should've made air on a show taped 10 days ago. This thing was just stupid. Then they had one with Flair looking 1,000 years old wearing one of those girly tanktops that HBK and Hoyt used to wear. He was subtitled, despite being completely audible. Then there was one with RVD and Jeff Hardy in the dressing room with the audio basically impossible to hear that they actually needed subtitles for. I love the idea behind these behind the scenes things, but the execution hasn't been the greatest, and the special-ness of them is hurt by them being used for so many angles.

Orlando Jordan came out in pink tights, groped Rob Terry during a low blow, then threw a wild card down on him. Real subtle. Tomko-OJ was better than I expected. Tomko appeared to lose a bit of weight, as he lacked the love handles he had before, and he moved around way faster. It's a shame he was in there with OJ, who now has a gullotine choke for a finisher...and then lost it halfway through. Again, this show was taped TEN DAYS AGO, and this couldn't be edited out.

Then Tara had a second match, with Sarita...AND SHE WINS AGAIN. Stupid, stupid, stupid. They certainly built her up well for the title match, but perhaps they should have done this during an earlier title shot, since she's done with the company in three days. Good video package for Jarrett-Sting, but man did such a seemingly major match seem like a complete afterthought compared to every other thing on the PPV's card since it barely got even a mention for the first hour and a half of the show.

Hardy-AJ-RVD was pretty good stuff. It had a fast-ish pace to it, and I liked the integration of Anderson in it to do something on the show to build up his match with Hardy. AJ's DDT on the floor looked awesome thanks to RVD's selling, although I would've liked to see him win with just that and not the feet on the ropes. Post-match brawl with Anderson and Hardy leading to Hogan coming out in a BRAND NEW HULK HOGAN H2 T-SHIRT was good. The swanton off the announce table to the floor through a table on Anderson was a bit much though. Why not save that for the PPV since now they'll either have to top it on that show or underwhelm viewers?

Then we get the big reveal of Lacey Von Erich's footage - Desmond and Chelsea planned it while she was peeing. Now, despite them just getting the footage from Lacey about a half hour before this point, the company had time to watch it, evaluate it, AND FULLY SUBTITLE IT. That seems completely impossible, and that's coming from someone that attempts to transcribe these shows. After all this bullshit, they show an awesome video package hyping up the RVD-AJ match as a huge deal with clips that actually make it seem like a major event. They also turned the farcical bullshit we've been subjected to for the other feuds seem somewhat logical due to how it was presented in the video - completely different from what we've seen for the preceeding two hours. It's a shame, too, because if they stuck with the serious build throughout the show, maybe something would mean something and their PPVs would be purchased by fewer people than Heroes of Wrestling.

just watched that atrocity of a trailer for the new angle movie. i watch horror and i watch a lot of bad horror (i own GHOST SHIP). this looks like the rare exception where even if i saw it in a redbox i wouldnt even think it was worth wasting a dollar on.

You know, I was thinking last night after watching the Goldust/Sheamus match... I miss ECW. Not original ECW, but the one that was cancelled 2 months ago. It was the only show that anybody could be important on, no matter how long you've been with the company, how much of a jobber you are, or how big you are. Just think about everyone who had the ECW belt within a year or so. Kane, Chavo, Swagger, Christian. These are guys who are fairly talented wrestlers but just aren't the main eventers that would be centerstage on Raw or Smackdown. Hell, the first 3 I named pretty much went back to jobber status (or heavyweight champion jobber status) while Christian... he's just too popular to be a straight up jobber. Then you also have the guys who were in the ECW championship scene like Yoshi Tatsu, Regal, and Shelton, and they're all in the same boat.... or fired. NXT is alright, but I just wish there were rookies I cared about aside from Danielson and Barrett. And even with these two guys, Miz and Jericho did wonders to make them important.
