If Lethal would've bladed, it would've been picture-perfect.

Watching that segment again makes me miss Charlie Haas' stint of impersonating other wrestlers. Man, that was a great couple of months.
At least he did call someone in the crowd "fat boy".

Lethal was spot on with that impersonation. As much as I have enjoyed some of his Macho Man skits, that one topped it all.

They just announced it for next spring next year.

Can we get a link with a confirmation on that?

As far as I know the licenses for TNA was sold when Midway was selling every property they owned and I haven't heard anything on a new TNA game or who bought the rights to do the game.

Now there is a AAA Lucha Libre game coming out in August and it looks pretty similar to TNA iMPACT. Which is not a good thing, the first TNA game was incredibly lackluster.

Sometimes you get the idea that McMahon really is an old-timey pro-wrestling fan who knows he could put out a superior wrestling product, but knows that it's simply not as profitable to do so:
- Vince said he would not use the "economy" as an excuse for everything negative, stating too many blame the economy. Vince said "we're strong, we're not superlative at the moment" and talked about how when he used to just promote live events and they didn't draw, wrestlers would come up with excuses for it, except Bobo Brazil who did not believe in excuses. Brazil who would simply point out that they didn't draw well that night and it couldn't be blamed on "the all night gas station" or anything else people might have gone to instead of the show that night.

That's kinda adorable.

But, alternately, is he a bit clueless about gaming or something else?
- The decrease in video game sales this quarter was attributed to the changeover in game platforms, with many companies introducing new systems and WWE's titles being for the now "old" systems.

He also seemed to concede that WM26 wasn't as a whole show as good as prior years - perhaps admitting that Hart/McMahon shit the bed?

I posted the links which were for a Denmark website a week or two ago in the general game thread for wrestling.

For all the shit that McMahon gets from the internet and various other promoters, I really think that his current position as head of far and away the biggest professional wrestling promotion on the planet isn't a mistake, and it isn't a position he simply stumbled into. He's monstrously difficult to read because I can't tell when he's "in character" or being himself. I don't even know what "himself" means when it comes to VKM. He alternately comes off as Satan, a benevolent guy who is capable of extreme acts of charity, and a million shades in the middle.

Like (most) everyone else (on the internet at least), I think he got very overexposed as an onscreen character but in hindsight, I can sort of see why it happened. Having Vince as the biggest heel in the company was sort of a riff on promoters having their kids or themselves as champion. Vince knew that he wasn't going to jump to WCW. Thus any major face would always have a foil in him. Plus he could always recruit various top level heels to sort of represent him in the ring while he remains a mouthpiece ala Corporate Ministry Undertaker versus Stone Cold.

Long story short - I think Vince has always done what he felt was best for his company (duh), and despite some issues (guys becoming World Champs without grassroots support, too much Cena, too much Triple H), I don't think anyone else would have necessarily done any better given the fact that WWE needs to appeal to as big a wrestling fan population as possible.

Possible reason for the Smackdown spoiler discussed earlier

Drew McIntyre and Smackdown diva Tiffany got married in Las Vegas on May 2. It is possible he dropped the Intercontinental title and was "fired," in order to go on a honeymoon.

Once again, the worst thing they ever did was go public. When it was just Vince's money, they could take risks (though, admittedly, they didn't take many). Now, because he has people to answer to, his only job is to maximize profits. That's why we're in a rut.

I think, deep down, that the man doesn't really believe that what they've been putting out is a great product... just one that consistently brings in money. It's a fairly good point that he could easily put on shows that the IWC would jiz over, but there's no profit in that. It's that clarifying thing when you realize that, yeah, we buy DVDs and games, but that's nothing compared to the mother that brings her 4 kids decked out in Cena gear to every show. Pleasing us is a losing proposition for Vince, money-wise.

It's a shame, really. It's why I'm curious to see where this Orton thing is headed, because it's a great example of the FANS making a choice about a major player, which hasn't happened in a while. WWE can claim all they want that 'they' turned Orton face, but the man was getting pops LONG before Legacy imploded. The people in the stands have chosen Orton, and I really want to see how far WWE lets this go.

I don't buy that entirely, though.

ECW went in that direction early on and did not detract from the typical Monday/Friday crowd - offering genuine variety in wrestling content = expanding your market by appealing to different demographic groups.

But we saw that ECW went in the direction of "WWE Paint By Numbers" programming and production style within - what? - 3 months?

Same with NXT. What leads me to believe that this isn't really true is that nobody is really trying to offer up a wrestling program that caters to *wrestling fans*. I think there is money there, there is a market there - and when you have a promotion like WWE which will have canceled two shows in two years if they don't do something soon to save NXT, they're clearly not doing the proper thing with their ideas and investments. Likewise, you have a promotion in TNA that's two hours of fucking talk, no clear heels and faces, cockeyed booking, and three minute main events (well, talking is more often than not in the main event slot, but the final wrestling match on the card was 3 minutes).

Point being, there may be wrestling fans out there in positions of influence and power, but I don't get why they keep trying the same tired production and booking styles that died in the late Clinton administration?

Drew's deal is probably so he can
go to Raw

I'm excited about going to the ROH show tomorrow, while the lineup isn't as good as the next day's show in NY, it's still a decent card and I'm looking forward to taking pics of the new belts.

- On the WrestleMania 26 DVD, WWE edited out the several seconds where Jack Swagger took too long to retrieve the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Hilarious.....because I thought he seriously wasn't going to win it because he was fumbling and bumbling with it

I love that I can download the DVD rip of the New Zeland broadcast of Smackdown before I have to go to work and watch it in the morning. For some reason the KFC logo is always blurred too when they show that KFC is the sponsor for the night.

On Smackdown tonight:
Match booked for Over The Limit - CM Punk Vs Rey Mysterio. Hair vs joining the SES.

Color me confused, but I thought Rey was supposed to join SES after losing at Extreme Rules. Talk about just throwing away the result of a PPV match.

It was never made a stipulation. Punk just said it a lot.

Rumors are that Rey-rey is going away for surgery, but those rumors have been swirling around for months. Either way, I hope he loses.

From another forum. This had me nearly coughing up my lunch, I was laughing so hard.

WWE presents: CENATION.

Every match & segment is booked by Cena.
Every wrestler & employee wears Cena merch at some point, and they plug his merch non stop.
Half the show is just a big video package broken up into segments. Showing his greatest moments, matches, and feuds throughout his career.
One fourth of the show is wrestlers, WWE employees, and celebrities talking about how awesome he is.
And Cena of course is in the main event in some ridiculous match where his entrance is him skydiving and landing outside the arena by a parachute. Then he is greeted by hundreds of his fans and the entire WWE roster as he is escorted to the ring on a huge Cena float that shoots out confetti, fireworks, and free Cena shirts.
The main event match is the odds completely stacked up against him to where it seems impossible that he will ever win.
But before the match even starts, he cuts a 15 minute promo about his life, his career, the fans, and anything else he wants to talk about.
The match is like an hour long, and is him being beatup, beatdown, controlled, and decimated by his opponent/opponents. The finish comes when he gives the Attitude Adjustment to three people at once, then duct tapes their legs together and applies the STF on all them making them simultaneously tap out at the same time for the win.
This match will also be for both heavyweight titles so Cena becomes the unified heavyweight champion. Then he lays both belts down in the ring, and Vince McMahon comes out with the brand new John Cena Unified World Heavyweight Spinner Belt Championship.

Christian/Cody Rhodes and Kofi/Ziggler were both pretty damn good matches. Maybe it's because he's been relegated to run-ins and 2 minute Raw matches for so long, but Rhodes is a lot better than I remember him being.

Just got back from the Manassas show and man was it a lot of fun. The matches were in about the perfect position on the card, and none of them felt like they were too long. The main event was pretty good, but not the best match on the card. Tyler took a scary bump off a knee breaker where he landed on the back of his head. He was moving around fine after it, thankfully. I picked up a shitload of DVDs while I was there, including the TNA Fandimonium tag team one.

Full rundown -

There were 2 dark matches. Grizzly Redwood teamed with two dudes wearing black and purple who were identified, but I couldn't hear what their names were. They beat the Bodysnatcher and two other dudes. Then KoW came out, said they'd only one singles tonight, and worked a tag against the fat dude and the skinny guy with the furry boots. Fat and the Furriest did some neat wheelbarrow spots, including a wheelbarrow spear and a wheelbarrow splash that led to a guy near me saying "THAT MIGHTA HURT IF HE WEIGHED MORE THAN 100 POUNDS!". KoW killed them a rocket launcher European uppercut then finally a Doomsday Devise European uppercut for the win.

The lights went down and the show actually started at this point. Eddie Edwards faced Bobby Dempsey, who got a holy shit chant for rolling and nipping up, and a huge BOBBY chant for doing a flying spinning headscissors. Edwards won with his ankle hold after Dempsey blocked it a couple times.

Jay Briscoe beat Claudio, who got heat with a "grow up" chant after a million "man up" ones. Briscoe won after something - I think a school boy out of a torture rack, but it was kinda hard to see because of someone blocking my view. Hero came out and attacked Jay, leading to Hero vs. Mark Briscoe. Jay kicked out of a couple rolling elbows and a yakuza kick, but fell to a standing elbow shot, which was kinda weird. He got on the mic and said that it was BULLSHEEET and swore that he and Jay would get their belts back.

Erick Stevens vs. Roderick Strong had some awesome chop exchanges, including an ungodly loud one from Strong that was greatly aided by the building being an enormous tin tool shed. Strong won with a sliding kick to Erick's jaw. Very fast-paced match, but I was surprised there weren't many backbreakers from Strong.

After intermission, it was time for Colt Cabana vs. Kenny King, which felt more like a second on the card comedy match, but also worked well for folks to just have something lighthearted after the break. Much of the match was built around paying off the crowd's show-long chants of snapmares and fallaway slams. King blocked two snapmares, but took the third, leading to a long 'that was awesome!" chant. Colt then did the fallaway slam, which got a "you got slammed" chant, and King said "Yup, SURE DID!". After a couple of butt butts from Cabana, he did the reverse crab, but Steen came out and caused a no contest.

Steen told the ref to get Colt out of there or else he'd rape him, which got a huge laugh from the crowd. He was the most hated guy all night, getting a ton of chants on him due to his weight. Daniels came out to the biggest pop of the night. Everyone was happy to see him, and he did the "shush" thing in front of his mouth when the crowd had a "fuck TNA" chant going, and told them to instead chant for "ROH". Steen also got a "you suck dick chant", and he responded with "Tastes like sausage." Dude was "on" tonight. He responded to another fatass chant by rolling his ass into Daniels's face. Daniels won with the uranage>BME combo, and Steen cried to the back to an "ole" chant, which led to him throwing the barricade around near the entrance way.

The match event of Rhett Titus and Austin Aries vs. Tyler Black and Delirious was pretty good, but was kinda forgettable. Literally. I don't remember much about it other than Delirious distracting the ref causing Tyler to get beaten up, and Aries getting dueling "Awesome Aries" and "Austin Asshole" chants. Delirious won with whatever he calls his version of the Ki Krusher, and then Tyler thanked us for coming and said that ROH might not be back to Manassas, but they would be in Richmond at the end of the month.

I didn't have high hopes for this show going in since I knew it was the "B" show compared to the loaded NY show tomorrow, but the crew still busted their asses and I had a great time. Not sure what the attendance was - the building was full, but didn't have many seats available anyway.

I can't wait to see Jack Swagger attempt a gutwrench powerbomb on Big Show and throw out every muscle in his back.

Smackdown was pretty decent. I also liked the Kofi/Ziggler and Christian/Rhodes matches. I expect Christian to win the title. Also, CM Punk ftw.

TheRealMorrison - still doing morning media- ... Would Jack Swagger be able to use this key to the Starbucks bathroom?

SD thoughts -
Liked SD a lot. It had a couple of great matches in Kofi-Dolph and Christian-Cody. Each had a really brisk pace to them and Christian being given time for his matches again does wonders for both him and this show. Cody also had his best singles match to date here, and did more to set himself apart from the rest in it than he ever did in Legacy. I loved how Kofi blocked the sleeper, but Dolph basically smothered him to finally lock it on, only to wind up falling to the wacky kick. Good way to protect Dolph, which I hope they keep doing after going back and forth on him being a comedy act. Serious Dolph can actually excel, wacky Dolph can't.

The Drew-Matt thing was kinda weird. While I think that both Kofi and Christian would be better champs as far as having great matches on a weekly basis, Drew benefited from having the title, and him being stripped of the title, and then fired, for beating up Matt WHO ASKED FOR HIM TO COME OUT AND CHALLENGED HIM TO A FIGHT doesn't make much sense. However, Matt did put over the supposed brain injury or whatever they're trying to get over, so he did clearly attack a very weakened man and they stripped him of it to protect Matt, but it still doesn't do much for me. If it was done to put Drew on Raw, then not only can Matt not get his revenge, but Drew will be lost in the heel shuffle on that show.

Luke-MVP was another good match. Luke's been on a roll with his matches, and MVP's hot streak on SD is just what he needed to remove the stench of his Raw run. The Rey-Punk exchange afterwards was excellent, and surprising too since Rey did the bulk of the mic work. Rey's rarely been good on the mic (the Eddie '05 feud and this would basically be his best stuff), but he was very good here and made some good points about him agreeing with the message, but not the way it's delivered, and Punk acting superior to his followers despite them sacrificing their hair instead of him and doing his dirty work for him. It was kinda weird that they seemed to go right back to their Extreme Rules stips for their Over the Limit match, very weird in fact, and just what is this supposedly revolutionary PPV concept? They've been plugging the show since Raw nearly two weeks ago and have mentioned nothing about the show other than the name and a couple of non-revolutionary matches.

Show-Swagger was built up well, although I think it would have been better to have Kane lose via something definitive to Swagger to show that Swagger can in fact beat a much larger man. The intrigue of Swagger-Show would be helped by "Can Swagger do Move X that beat Kane to Show at the PPV?", but they opted to have a DQ and then Show chokeslammed Swagger through the announce table. Well, at least Show parading around with the belt ensures that Swagger won't lose the feud, but I don't see it helping him much right now.

"There's our SmackDown Champion"

Quotes -
Striker - MVP’S HEATING UP! IS IT THE SHOES!?
Grisham - You like basketball, Matt?
Striker - Oh yeah!
Grisham - REY COMES OUT OF THE WWE UNIVERSE!
Punk - Rey IS A COWARD! REY ATTACKS PEOPLE FROM BEHIND BECAUSE HE DOESN’T HAVE THE ABILITY TO FACE A MAN FACE-TO-FACE! YOU COST LUKE A MATCH AND I WANT YOU TO COME OUT BECAUSE I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY TO YOU! (Rey comes out)
Striker - Ask and ye shall receive.
Rey - What’s wrong, Punk? You seem like you’re upset - is it because I jumped you from behind!
Punk - YES IT IS!
Rey - Just like the mystery man who’s been attacking me? I’ve gotta give you a taste of your own medicine. Is he gonna attack me from behind or jump the rail?
Punk - YOU COWARD! YOU JUMP ME FROM THE AUDIENCE! YOU COWARD! YOU TALK ABOUT A MYSTERY MAN. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT. IT MAKES ME THINK YOU’VE BEEN PAINTING THE INSIDE OF YOUR MASK WITH HALLUCINOGENIC DRUGS BECAUSE YOU’RE SEEING THINGS NOW! A masked man? THIS IS CLEARLY AN EXTENTION OF YOURSELF - YOU’RE BLAMING OTHERS FOR YOUR PROBLEMS - JUST LIKE THE WWE UNIVERSE. I know the reason you’re out here and the reason people come to arenas to see CM Punk - YOU WANT TO BE SAVED AND JOIN THE SES!
Rey - There’s only one person here hallucinating - THAT’S YOU! I came out here to shave your head!
Punk - Well Rey, in case you forgot, I beat you at Extreme Rules.
Rey - Yeah, well you lost to me at ’Mania! So the way I see it, we’re even! One to one, and it’s not over yet. Let’s have another match at Over the Limit - I lose, I become a part of the SES. You lose, YOU SHAVE YOUR HEAD! And I’m the barber!
Punk - I think you’re having what most addicts call is a moment of clarity. You’ve realized that you need help and you have a problem. I’d love nothing more than to welcome you into the arms of my loving crusade, so you’re on Rey, you’re on.
Rey - I have a better idea - why do we have to fight at Over the Limit when I could come down right now, step inside the ring, raise my hand high and pledge to the SES TONIGHT! That’s IF you shave your head now!
Punk - No, that’s not going to happen!
Rey - Tell ya what, there’s just one thing I don’t understand about the SES. I understand the philosophy - don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs - that’s the good part in your message. I’m agreeing with you, but the messenger is bad! You have to realize that everyone out here wearing a Rey mask represents the good in your message, and if you’re serious on saving and helping these people, you and I can do some good together, so lead by example and shave your head!
Punk - This has nothing to do with me shaving my hair - it’s a symbol of purity! I DON’T CARE IF YO DON’T LIKE IT, I’M BETTER THAN EVERYBODY!
Rey -T hat’s what I thought. You shaved Serena’s head, you shaved Luke, you know what? WHAT’S MAKES YOU DIFFERENT THAN THEM? They’ve followed you, protected you, and it seems like THEY have done most of the work in the SES! Why are they bald and you’re not!? Yeah! You don’t care about them - the only person you care about is yourself. And you call yourself a savior, let me give you some info, there’s nothing you can do to be saved from the 619!
Grisham - KOFI WITH THE JUMP OUTTA THE GYM HOPS!
Striker - 40% of the time, the IC champion has gone on to become world champion!
Grisham - Dolph came so close to being IC champion against Rey Mysterio at Summerslam last year!
Striker - What a difference a year makes! This Dolph Ziggler has added the SLEEPER HOLD!
Striker - Kofi would love to bring the IC Championship back to Ghana, West Africa where Prince Nana will be waiting!
Grisham - Matt, we know what can happen when Kofi Kingston gets hot!
Grisham - SUPERMAN PUNCH FROM KOFI KINGSTON!
Striker - WHEN KOFI CLAPS, THE UNIVERSE GETS BEHIND THE SPRING-LOADED SUPERSTAR!
(on Swagger)Show - There’s our World Champion, our SmackDown Champion…

it's entertaining that swagger is back to his mid-card jobbing status....

it's not entertaining that he has the world strap while doing so

The only thing I've liked about Swagger's run is his boasting. The guy is just so fucking bland, I can't stand it. Even when he didn't have the title, he was boring as all hell.

I laughed when Rey basically said "UMAD" to Punk last night. Can't wait to see this feud finish, but I also can't see Punk losing at Over The Limit (which is a stupid name, bah gawd).

And what in the world does Jay mean by "Wacky" Dolph?

If by "comedy shit" you mean making it so that Hornswaggle isn't on TV for an unspecified amount of time, then I say more Wacky Dolph, please.

Cripes man, he's had one interaction with Hornswaggle. That doesn't make him the next Chavo.

Drew Mac will be back soon, don't worry. I'll have him run-in and interfere in an intercontinental title match, and draw this baby out all the way to the Fatal Fourway PPV. Then you'll get Drew, that mid-carder that used to tag with Edge, that pleasant African American fellow with the ability to do accents, and the other Hardy boy. I still don't understand why people like him, I've tried to fire him, bury him in feud after feud, and yet they still cheer him! I'll have to find a way to harness that power and give it to someone I like better, maybe Chris Masters. Ho ho ho, I'm Vince McMahon dammit.

IT'S ME AUSTIN! IT WAS ME ALL ALONG!

He's been back for weeks now, and worked the Manassas show on Friday. At last night's UFC show, Joe Doerksen wanted to come out to the Mountie's "I'M A MOUNTIE!" theme, but wasn't able to get away with it.

I won't go into detail since others already have, but I just watched Raw and NXT on Thursday and SD yesterday. All were very good shows. Still haven't seen ROH.

I got the WrestleMania XXVI Blu-ray at Best Buy on Saturday. I got a call the other day saying I had reward zone certificates that were set to expire next month, and the set was already on sale for $25, so I picked it up.

It features over 11 hours of content. Disc 1 is the WrestleMania PPV itself. Disc 2 has the entire Hall of Fame ceremony rather than just the TV broadcast, along with 7 or so matches featuring the Hall of Famers, as well as the pre-WrestleMania 26-man battle royal. Not sure why that wasn't on disc 1. Disc 3 contains the episodes of Raw and SD leading up to Mania, which makes sense, but not including HBK's farewell the night after Mania was a critical omission.

I haven't watched it yet, since a friend who hasn't seen the PPV is coming over in the next couple days to watch it. But it'll be nice to see the televised version of WrestleMania after being there live, and I think it's a pretty sweet deal overall.

Hornswoggle is on Smackdown now. Lets see if the brands keep him there or if the fact that he is still a member of DX some how lets him go wherever he wants.
Santino gets dressed as Buzz Lightyear, or calls Aldrin by that name. That's my guess.
