And we never did find out what Jackie Gayda knew.

Of course, a non-ending to a storyline that nobody gives a shit about leads one to those sorts of "if a tree falls in the woods while nobody is around, does it make a sound?" kinds of questions.

Seriously? The few times I watched TNA they made a big fucking deal about it.

Al Snow news!

As reported earlier, Al Snow was scheduled to wrestle at December to Dismember PPV, but he was forced to miss the show due to a family emergency. As it turns out, his father passed away last week. Furthermore, Paul Heyman wasn't in favor of him appearing on the PPV anyways. It is believed to be do to Snow not appearing on ECW television as of late, or because there was friction between them when they were both in OVW. Snow is currently writing OVW TV with Danny Davis and training developmental wrestlers.

Poor Al, bad timing with the holidays and all.

You know, I'd kind of like to see Al Snow do the writing for ECW. He knows the product better than most of the WWE guys. Hell, I'd like to see Snow replace Heyman as the top banana on ECW tv too.

As reported earlier, Amy Zidian, the blonde manager of Jimmy Wang Yang, was released from her WWE contract yesterday. Apparently, she was released because of her backstage behavior. Within a three week period, she somehow upset Layla El, Kristal Marshall, Vickie Guerrero, and most notably, Stephanie McMahon. At the moment, it is not known as to what she did to make those three SmackDown female talents angry. However, what is known is that when Stephanie was trying to give her some advice backstage in front of a number of people, Amy didn't know who she was. Not to say that she was specifically let go because she didn't know who Stephanie McMahon was, but it seems like she just rubbed too many people the wrong way during her short-lived WWE stint, and thus she was let go. It's incredibly important to show respect to your peers and conduct yourself in a cordial manner backstage, or else you could be let go (unless you're a top star like Randy Orton). Hopefully we get more information on Amy's release.

Jesus fucking Christ, we GET it Keller, you don't like Cryme Time (or Republicans, or the Iraq war....) Every single motherfucking time someone writes in who agrees with him, he picks out what he thinks are the most well-written responses and they publish it. Then anything showing the counter-point that is well-written is thrown in the trash, while he pulls the biggest idiot of the bunch out to "represent the other side." This has been shown time and time again. Did he even BOTHER to put ANY counter-points this time?

Why doesn't that stupid cunt use her seemingly endless amount of aghast horror to petition the guys who wrote "Little Man" or (insert almost any Chris Tucker movie here)? A hell of a lot more people were exposed to that than a midcard tag team act on an ailing pro wrestling show. Instead, she sat down for 20 minutes with her thesaurus and did her best Backlund imitation.

Cryme Time is supposed to be (and often is) FUNNY. I liked "Friday" and "Don't Be A Menace," but to that stupid goddamn wart on humanity's ass I'm probably a "racist" for it because it's insulting her people's intelligence or something.

DAMMIT, Vince McMahon plays a power-hungry, money-grubbing, backstabbing corporate asshole boss. I'M HIGHLY OFFENDED BECAUSE PEOPLE THINK THAT'S A TRAIT OF THE WHITE MAN AND I'M NOT! I'M NOT LIKE VINCE MCMAHON! But thanks to WWE, PEOPLE THINK I AM!

your writers overlook them and decide that they can create a successful imitation of Dave Chappelle's comedy
DAVE CHAPPELLE'S COMEDY? How late is this dipshit to the party? I thought she was in her 20's - saying something like that makes me believe she was born in the early 90's.

is it that Mr. Benjamin's lines are written in such a way that no one could possibly find them compelling
That's because Shelton Benjamin sounds like he's taking a fucking nap when he's doing a promo. If you had The Rock or even Monty Brown saying those lines it would have been fine.

If WWE creative continues displaying minstrel shows in place of real entertainment, then I can assure you that one day your business will once again be resigned to carnivals and side shows at county fairs.

LMAO. This person has no brain.

WWE will be aroung long after this person has given up on her stupid little quest for...whatever she's asking for.

If you think that won't happen, this student of history's got two words for you: Nigga please.

A fine way to end a letter displaying how offended you are. Funny, in exlaiming her outrage over this, she's portraying one of the most stereotypical and rampant black stereotypes of all - the one who looks for racism in everything, no matter how harmless the "offensive" material may be.

You're awfully presumptuous about what editorials Keller doesn't publish.

I agree with some of your remarks with regard to *specific sentences* of the editorial. However, just like ZL said the same thing, I'll simply say that a few incorrect or inappropriate sentences does not change the overall nature of the op-ed.

I don't think, in the end, that it is Cryme Tyme by themselves that are racist (not that they aren't, either). It's that every black athlete in the WWE, with the exception of Bobby Lashley, has been, at one time, saddled with some stereotypically racist gimmick. It's the idea that WWE can't promote athletes as athletes without resorting to some racist charicature. Cryme Tyme will surely get more attention because they're black, and will have a more vocal opposition. That doesn't mean, however, that Cryme Tyme is the only racist thing the WWE has done.

Really, someone as PC as myself sees it everywhere: The Mexicools, Saba Simba, Ahmed Johnson, Flash Funk, Umaga, The Wild Samoans, Nation of Domination, The Highlanders, Kaientai, Tatanka, The Guerreros, ad fucking nauseum. EVERY one of those guys is saddled with some stereotype based on their character's heritage.

I wouldn't argue that Cryme Tyme can't be Cryme Tyme. It's one thing to have a "Gangsta" tag team (it's been done before on many occasions), but it's another to constantly show them rapping about drugs, stealing people's property, and to have comedic segments based on how "those wacky black people talk."

I'm not saying that they need to stop that entirely at all. When it the entirety of their character, however, then their entire persona is based upon a stereotype. That, to me, is racist. That the whole range of things Cryme Tyme does is founded on nothing more than negative stereotypes of blacks (gross materialism, theft, drugs, poor speaking ability) is what makes it racist.

That it is supposed to be funny is even worse.

OTOH, I think LAX is the bee's knees. I think Konnan is (1) in complete control of their character development, and (2) letting out a LOT of very personal feelings in the team's promos and work. It comes across as very legitimate and very believable, in essence, because I think it very much is. They are awesome despite the fact that Konnan is still using catch phrases that didn't work for him in 1997. They also have the greatest entrance video I've ever seen; but that's a matter of personal opinion.
Nice, Guyver. Be sure to stare at her tits very deliberately, since I'm sure she's used to it anyway.

How did your brother win these?
turns out brother's wife won them in a raffle... or she actually won $50 but some other lady won the tickets so she traded the tix for the cash since the other lady doesnt watch wrestling
I thought you quit watching TNA...
I said I was done watching until the shows didn't have a feeling of 60 damn angles going on. This week's Impact while not perfect was damn great. Matches were given time to tell a story. Angles and developments made sense. Major angles were emphasised - including a replay or two to really make sure things soaked in.

Oh, and the lack of Don West really helped things. While TNA can certainly use Don West I feel that he shouldn't be anywhere near the broadcast booth. He really drags the product down with his continual "did you see that, that was freakin unreal" style of comments. The show overall felt more mature with the Tenay/Cornette team than it ever has with the Tenay/West team.

I'm thinking about tuning into Smackdown tonight tho.... any good matches announced (without giving spoilers)?

Oh for those in the Orlando area TNA is doing the tapings for the January 4th and 11th Impact's this Monday with Christmas being on a Monday this year. Thought I would give a heads up for those who might be interested in going.

And finally the early ratings number for this Thursday's Impact is at a 1.2 overall which is the highest TNA has gotten so far on Spike TV.

Boogeyman and the Miz?

Honestly, they've been working a program with Regal/Dave Taylor and Kendrick/London that's led to some solid fucking wrestling the past few weeks. About the only thing worth watching on Smackdown, but good enough to regret missing.

WWE has come to terms on the release of Danny Doring. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Little Guido, Tony Mamaluke & CW Anderson should probably all consider other forms of employment, cuz they're surely next.

Obviously Sabu & RVD both have one foot out the door as well. I wonder if Dreamer & Sandman will stick around?

Wouldn't surprise me too much if Joey Styles gets replaced by Josh Matthews
Wouldn't surprise me too much if Joey Styles gets replaced by Josh Matthews
Sssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh... don't give Vince McMahon any ideas.

Guido and Mamaluke could just be shifted to SD's tag division. CW is fucked, while Sandman and Dreamer (especailly) are safe. Sabu is still going to be with WWE for the foreseeable future, and RVD is probably gone in six months, but doesn't care.

Mercury is alright, but I don't like MNM in the sense that I'd prefer Nitro as a singles competitor.
anyways that deadman kane promo was awesome
Uhh... That was lamest shit I've seen since '90s WWF.

WWE isn't trying to get rid of Mercury, they're telling a story that he's new to singles competition, which was very clear during the match. JBL's commentary during the Vito match made this show great. These Raw ads are hilarious - they're claiming that a battle royal is the most dangerous match in wrestling... on a night where a match involving FIRE is involved.

I'm amazed they didn't have Finlay do a clean job to Cena. A job, what with the shitty ending... but not a clean job.

I guess Joe's knee must be really fucked up. He didn't wrestle tonight and limped pretty badly when he walked. He did say that he is going to start going for the title and then signed autographs for like 30 minutes to make up for not wrestling, which was pretty cool. So Cal Val did as well and she is even hotter in person.

The show was pretty good, but the two opening matches were better than the stuff that took place later even though those matches had a lot more star power. Also for some reason Abyss came out with the NWA title which was pretty dumb considering Sting was supposed to have it.

Extended PCS clip from this week. Also Impact did its highest rating to date at a 1.2.

That's why I asked.

How did you magically know to watch it this week?

If you were to boycott - say - Pepsi, for tasting bad, why would you just up and give it a taste to see if it's gotten any better?

I'm telling you he's an addict... All the signs are apparent. He lies about his viewage... he gets excited just thinking about plopping his fat ass down on that couch and dosing up on that mind numbing TNA programming... How do I know? I'm one as well :(

Pro wrestling is not as consistent as cola products, of course.

Is it addicting? Yeah. I think the more proper anaolgy is for all those people who suffered through watching the Cincinnati Bengals in the 1990s. Ten years of telling themselves *this* game would be where they won, *this* game they'd turn it around and never look back, *this* is the year that they get back on track...

And they remained the worst team in all of the NFL for the entire decade.

And fans continued to watch, repeating the mantra..."eventually, they're gonna have to get better."

And they did, but it took ten fucking years. That's the way I feel about wrestling now; sometimes its fun to watch, but overall its embarrassing at best, and also a shitty shitty product on top of that at worst. I know it will be fun again to watch, eventually, and I continue to watch under that same deluded mentality Bengals' fans had, thinking "this is gonna be the one where they change direction."

For the Bengals, however, it took a top to bottom complete fucking overhaul of the team, the administration, and their philosophy (they do yoga now). I'm not so convinced that the WWE will take that step. They did during the "Attitude Era," because the WWF product was immensely kid-friendly and very tame in terms of content. The financial circumstances of the company at that time forced their hand, I'd argue. And at the moment, Vince McMahon is not only (1) making money, but (2) lots of it. There's no incentive for him to change the philosophical direction of the company, because whethery its a shitty PPV or amazing PPV, a paycheck cashes just as well.

TNA has a great opportunity here, but they're also their own worst enemy at the moment. They can help make *all* of wrestling better, but they can also doom themselves to fail. The only thing that will change the WWE is for them to start losing money; I don't see that happening anytime soon.

My analogy was pointing out more of the fact that he never really boycotted anything.

To delve into the hope of a WWE turn-around, I think that - unfortunately - WWE is clinging to the idea of capitalizing on the Attitude era, as opposed to making a new era.

I mean, the Attitude era was so successful because it had never been done before -- as was the nWo era of WCW's peak.

They need to do something new, and it's as though they're refusing to do so.

Exactly. I still feel that TNA not only acknowledging WWE's current storylines but even having dumb things like VKM and "Dumb To The Xtreme" along with the whole Hardys/MNM tag team fiasco. TNA needs to be focused on building its own storylines, its own talent, and giving people a reason why to watch TNA on a weekly basis. This week's show did a far greater job for the most part on doing that. Like I wrote before matches were given time, angles made sense, nothing felt rushed, etc etc etc. I can still do without the VKM crap but even then its kepted to a minumum enough so by the end of the show I pretty much don't remember anything. Still doesn't excuse it however.

And Brak I was only boycotting until the horrible writing/booking that we saw going into "Turning Point" was done with. It was obvious to me that things were going to get much better when:

A) The reports of Russo having to rewrite the shows after he found out Impact was 1 hour instead of 2 hours.
B) "Turning Point" itself being damn good.
C) The spoilers for this week's show (and next week) had a different feel to them compared to the past 3 shows.

Now now now...since the PPV was the culmination of the previous months' buildup, as it always is, why would you order a show that aims to resolve the conflicts developed that you didn't like?

If you weren't bringing up a boycott time and time again, I wouldn't comment on it; I think it's clear to everyone around here that you didn't give up anything.

WWE does need to evolve from the Attitude era. Controversy just ain't what it used to be, y'know. It's part the characters they have, part the lack of wrestling on the show, part storylines so mundane as to insult your intelligence, part the hiring and forcing down the fans' throats of big hot muscle-studcake motherfuckers, and not focusing on people who can actually wrestle a match that entertains me. Like I said, they need to rebuild themselves from the ground up; I think that the foundation of wrestling (good guy fights bad guy, and people pay to see it) is not something people will ever grow tired of; hell, conflict is 90% of fucking everything. It's how it is dressed up that matters. Cloaked in a third-grader's sense of scandal (HUURRRRR HE SAID ASS!!!!) and presented by people who can't act, who can't wrestle, but have rock-solid pecs, the WWE just ain't what it is.

After all, if you keep Hulk Hogan's physique and wrestling ability, and take away his charisma...you get fucking Horace Hogan. The main problem with the WWE is that they aren't looking to build their company for the long term (I'm not saying they'll go out of business, of course, but rather, that they aren't building stars to replace the current top of the card, with very few exceptions).

It wasn't so much the storylines (outside of the VKM crap) that bothered me so much as there being TOO many things going on. And besides... who said I ordered it. ;)

If you weren't bringing up a boycott time and time again, I wouldn't comment on it; I think it's clear to everyone around here that you didn't give up anything.

My "boycotting" was more out of frustration of what was going on. I guess I needed to vent off. Much like, say, a Browns fan the past decade as you put it needed to vent off on how bad the team was.

Was I a bit overdramatic in the whole thing? Yes. I do apologize to CAG for that. I guess my expectations on TNA can be a bit on the highish side. Or maybe its the holiday's getting to me since with every day being so hectic that when I want to sit down and have my hour to escape from the world TNA instead gave me an hour of far too much going on.

Its all done with now. I'd prefer to move on from this. Agree?

Problem is that as long as people keep ordering PPVs, buying tickets, buying merchandise, etc etc etc... then this is going to continue. And let's face it as much as we see Cryme Time as racist there are folks out there who think Cryme Time > LAX simply because Cryme Time makes them laugh.

After all, if you keep Hulk Hogan's physique and wrestling ability, and take away his charisma...you get fucking Horace Hogan. Yep. I'm hoping by this time next year the WWE will do more than to leave, say, Ken Kennedy in midcard hell status on Smackdown.
ECW now features DQs for too many punches. Awesome.
They should have just taken the fucking "E" out from the get go.
What? DQs for too many punches????? Geez..... what next? A DQ for entering the ring?
OPEN UP THEM FIST!!!!!!

Seriously though for a promotion to go from no dq every match (ECW) to a dq what feels like every other match (Velocity Jr) is just pathetic.
