The CAG Mario Kart/Animal Crossing/Tony Hawk WiFi Thread - 'Friend Codes' - Up. 12-21

My apartment complex's wifi doesn't seem to let me play. I can see the network and I put in the WEP, but it says it can't connect to the DHCP server. I know what that means, but meh. I found the router's IP...it's a Belkin. Something tells me I have the one that is listed with compatability issues.

F5D9230-4 v2 .... Hmm, not listed in the OP.

I'll keep trying.
 
I've only played one online match so far and now Nintendo Wi-Fi is down! Arrgh.
Whenever it's back up - if anyone wants to race me (Master H), my friend code is:

I've been playing the various Mario Karts since the first was released, so I should provide an okay challenge!

Perhaps the DHCP Server on the router is set to "Static" instead of "Automatic" IP address assigning?

Are you able to access the router's control panel?

but what if my CAG name is different from my DS name?
 
anyone down for a game right now? I hear that friends codes are the only way to play wi-fi at the moment due to the rest of the network getitng slammed. So if you wanna play, post and I'll add you.
 
gizmogc - you may want to mention in the original post that - as far as I know - BOTH players must enter the friends code to allow the players to Friends Match. My suggestion: once you add a friends code, PM the user with your own friends code and ask him to add you in return.

I was wondering the same thing... I'm assuming he just hasn't added anyone yet and assumed that there was some sort of confirmation process.

I'm down for a match if anyone wants to add me. I wanna see how this thing runs.

there are no invites are far as i'm concerned.

all there is is a little symbol of a guy on your top screen just above you wireless-signal-strength that appears if you're friend is online.

i'll be adding gizmogc and joeposh right now, and will be playing also.

Yeah that's my biggest complaint. It would be nicer if you could see exactly who was online and just request a match up. The race itself was extremely smooth though, honestly wouldn't have been able to tell it was a long distance match up if I just glanced at the gameplay for a while.

You won't even have one until after you set-up your wireless connection info.

After you do that, from the Main Menu, go to Nintendo WFC > Friend Code > Confirm Friend Code (to see your own) or Register Friend Code (to add other people's codes to your "Friend" list).
