So there will still be a PS2 version this year?
Yeah. They'd be crazy not to come out with a PS2 version.

King Booker is the first black man to hold a WWE/F World title. Of course, he held the WCW title in the WWE/F and The Rock is a mix of ethnicities (one major one being black) but this is still nice to see.

All hail King Booker!

Hopefully most of the new features that will be on the 360 version will find their way over to the PS2 port. Yeah I know graphically it won't be as good but at least the gameplay should be pretty close. We'll see....

I guess I didn't realize this was his first title reign. That makes it all that much cooler I guess

Customizable intro music via the hdd is what I'm really looking for in the 360 version.

If it wasn't for the Wii coming out then I would jump at getting a 360 for Smackdown vs RAW 07 and most likely Fable 2. But in the case of Fable 2 I'm not even going to place a bet that like Halo 2 it will be delayed and delayed and delayed and delayed for several years. It will then come out several years later with only half of the game that we were promissed and hyped up over. ;)

Going back on subject... I wonder what the TNA Impact rating from the Saturday rerun will end up being? Especially after the good word of mouth the show got from those who did remember it was on Thursday. Of course it doesn't help when the lead in for Impact now is some god aweful show that I sat through the last five minutes of but amazingly that five minutes felt like two hours.
WWE is racist man.

I mean WCW had Ron Simmons win it, and TNA had The Truth win it in no time either
This, ladies and gentlemen, is what we call a "non sequitur."

It's an incredibly stupid point to make on his part since WWE had him win a world title in their company within two months of debuting on-air. By the way, this brings Booker T's record to six world heavyweight titles, six world television titles, two United States titles, one Intercontinental title, three WWE World Tag team title, and ELEVEN WCW World tag team titles.

Do you really think SmackDown needs MORE people brought over to help their brand now? Or, do you think that some people could be elevated to the main show, or brought up from perpetual jobber/irrelevant match standing to the top of the card?

I, for one, would like to see Khali, if he won't be wrestling, but is allowed on the program, back Daivari as he rules the Cruiserweight division. It's not like anyone knows or cares who Shane Helms is.

I was actually worried that this feature would not have made it...Custom soundtracks appear to have dissappeared on 360 for the most part. Sure you can set it up to listen to whatever you want while playing but it is not the same.

On the old box, games would let you select what songs to play and when etc..(i.e. 2k sport games,) but now i dont see that option anywhere. I figured mlb2k6 would have it and let you customize stadium sounds etc but nope.

SD definitely needs more star power since they once again completely gutted it of established stars - I would prefer to see WWE make stars out of the guys they have, which they CAN do. As for Cena getting a Rock-like movie career - I hope it happens. He's got the hardest schedule of anyone in wrestling, and is actually working close to the amount of dates that Hogan bullshits about all the time. Plus, wrestling treats its workers like garbage, so I'm all for someone getting out of the business and making a better life for themselves. Of course, to truly have movie success outside of WWE, Cena would need to escape the quagmire of WWE Films.

Info on Super Crazy from the Observer site -
--Super Crazy was originally booked to face Gregory Helms yesterday as most expected. Crazy has also been taken off the active roster due to health reasons stemming from liver issues. Kid Kash is expected to be suspended after tomorrow's tapings.
That makes three guys on one roster, at the same time, suffering from liver issues - what on Earth are these guys doing to themselves to cause this?

That definately is suspicious.
SD definitely needs more star power
Wasn't my question. We all KNOW it needs more star power. My question was this: what is the response to the need for more star power? Elevate nobodies on SmackDown (Matt Hardy, Gunnar Scott, Paul Birchall), or import talent from Raw?

EDIT: The Highlanders are challenging for the titles tonight, three weeks after their debut on Raw. I don't have the effort to find my post, but I did predict this. Just for the record.

so the ps3 news is official... this is fucking great news. Im sure the ps2 version will still outsell the 360 version but i definitely cant wait for it. Only place to get next gen wrestling!!!!!!

They should elevate Hardy and Burchill. Hardy has been in the WWE long enough to deserve some kind of push.

How about some news from GAB and some last minute changes to Raw tonight?
We just got word from backstage at Raw that Stephanie McMahon has gone into labor. Vince McMahon and Triple H are said to be heading back to Connecticut to be with her, forcing massive changes to tonight's show.

At The Great American Bash, Mr. Kennedy was busted open during his match with Batista when he was rammed into the steel ring steps.

When examined in the locker room, he was suffering from deep cuts to the scalp one of which exposed his cranium. According to WWE physician Dr. Ferdinand Rios, Kennedy required more than 20 stitches to close the wound.

Super Crazy was originally supposed to be Greg Helms' opponent at the Great American Bash, but was removed at the last minute due to him also being found with elevated liver enzymes. Kid Kash is expected to be suspended for 30 days after tomorrow's Smackdown taping for violating the WWE wellness policy.

Kristal Marshal had to be hospitalized after last night's bra & panties match. We got no word to the extent of her injures.

U.S. Champion Fit Finlay will be turning face soon due to the numbers game and the current wasteland situation of Smackdown's roster. This is not the end of it.

While I theorized earlier today that Shane McMahon would do something with Shawn Michaels tonight to further the McMahons vs. DX storyline, that won't be happening. He is not at the show tonight.
That ending to Kennedy vs Batista did seem a little improvised, and it wouldn't surprise me if they had to bring it home early with how badly Kennedy was busted open. Using logic (which a WWE storyline 90% of the time does not), since Kennedy took Mark Henry's place in the #1 contender's match and won it by DQ, does that make him the #1 contender?

I'm loving Finlay as a heel, and really think that Regal's persona would transfer over to being a face better, but I guess you can't have all the champions being heels these days.

As for your question myke, I'd say they should do a little of both. With Matt Hardy filling in last night and coming off of a win (which baffles me, aside from the whole face vs heel thing -- Hardy gets a win over Kennedy, but he gets stuck subbing in against Helms while Kennedy goes on to face Batista), it was the perfect chance to begin pushing him towards the top, not having him job semi-cleanly to Helms. I think SmackDown needs some star power right away, and that can't be built up from the guys who are already there fast enough. If they were to bring over a mid-carder or two from Raw (a couple Spirit Squaders after they break, maybe) and then start to push some of the existing SD stars such as Hardy, the 'B' show could have a nice amount of star power right around the time of their next single brand Pay Per View.

Hardy should definitely be in the U.S. title picture at least. Well, he should be in the NWA title picture, but that's another story. ;)

I don't see how Finlay could turn face. He's a much better heel, his persona better fits a heel, and there is too much bad blood between him and others.

Is there an ETA on Benoit's return?

just watching the bash now..

it was pretty cool how taker showed up backstage behind daivari....

Khali is so awesome.. i love when he chopped big show in the back

i dont like how they changed the match last minute.....

Sorry about that. Do both for SD. Build new stars, but bring people over who are names on Raw who aren't being used. I would like to see some Spirit Squad guys brought over to SD once they break up. I doubt they'll elevate Burchill when he comes back, since they want to repackage him, and he's only being repackaged because WWE didn't feel his pirate gimmick worked.

EDIT: WHAT THE fuck?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but I think tomorrow we may see Kelly flop around like an epileptic, Sandman will earn his paycheck by caning someone twice, and Sabu will squash Danny Doring, CW Anderson, Justin Credible, or one of those other non-ECW wrestling Jobbers. It'll be a whole new show!

They should've at least wait until Raw to mention that match on the site. Those two have yet to have a good match together, so I'm dreading that title match.

Oh for the love of fucking christ. What's the point of having a title match when everyone knows damn well there's absolutely no chance in hell of a title change?!?!?! God damn this is getting dumb.

'cuz they gotta get TBS over as a threat and a big bad champ. I'm not gonna get worked up over it anymore, man, it's just not worth my time.

I guess this proves once and for all that if you are a part of ECW you have no chance in hell of ever getting a title shot.

Also I agree that Regal should have been the one to turn face. He could bring up how Booker screwed him over in the number one contender's match few weeks back and now Finlay's little bastard screwed him over for the US title.

Then he and Finlay could feud. England vs. Ireland fuck yeah!
Then he and Finlay could feud. England vs. Ireland fuck yeah!
That always seemed obvious to me, but it may be over the head, in terms of sheer history, of most wrestling fans. However, I've been wrong before, and I *do* recall seeing a crowd sign right around Finlay's debut (January? Was it that long ago?) that said "Finlay > Michael Collins."

Did they sew the seeds for a Finlay face turn last night? If not, it isn't too late to turn Regal face. They'd be better off with Finlay, since (1) Regal, while an *AMAZING* wrestler, has always been little better than lukewarm as a face, and (2) the crowds love Little Bastard. I hate him, but he is working to the fans' enjoyment.

But can you really have someone who cheats to win on a consistent basis be a face?

Also Finlay won by throwing Regal's boot at him after the little bastard pulled it off. Anytime I hear about someone using a shoe as a weapon I think of that episode of Impact where Konnan used his.

Regal was far better than "a little lukewarm as a face" when he had the crowd on their feet chanting his name during a promo standoff with HHH, when he said he'd pound him with every ounce of bile and venom in his body. Konnan used his shoe as a weapon for a while - not just on one show. Cheating to win can be used for a face, but it must be done right. It was done perfectly with Eddie, and for a very recent example, done poorly with Rey as an homage to Eddie.

Only push he'll get is out the door, he sold his soul to the WWE and he'll do what they want him to even if it means jobbing to Funaki.

That may have been one of the better matches I've seen on Raw in awhile. I never realized before that Carlito is actually a rather good wrestler.

wtf, spirit squad keep the titles?

I hope theyre not planning on giving the titles to DX....

Suprise Suprise, Carlito vs. Shelton Benjamin, and we have (once again) Carlito vs. Essa Rios, err, i mean Johnny Nitro to look forward too...
didnt rikishi used to do that move?
I don't think so. I know Rikishi used to do a press Diamond cutter though.

That was also one of the first times in a LONG time I've laughed at a Cena promo. Something was absolutely hilarious about Maria's reaction to his paint chips question.
