I loved tonight's show. JBL saying that "KLINGER WON ANOTHER ONE!", mentioning Paul Boesch numerous times, and then ripping on the "diva search" makes me glad he's the new color guy. King Booker ruled the world on tonight's show. I hope they give him the strap until at least No Mercy. I could see Kennedy-Batista continuing until Summerslam since it's now a blood feud, and that would give them plenty of time to buld Batista up to the belt again. Every match that needed to be good tonight was, and Vito's act is odd, but working for him. ECW... I've just about given up hope on. It's this weird mix of joy because new guys are getting a chance, and sadness because they're being wasted.
Actually I've mentioned MPW a few times myself - namely the one show I went to that I met AJ Styles at. :D

I doubt Matt Young has even heard of MPW since he's not from my area.
If the promotion is where its name would lead me in the direction to think, then yes Matt is in the area. From what I know, he lived in Springfield until he moved, and has moved back to Springfield (IL) since. What area do you reside in Demo?

This nWo DVD is actually pretty freakin' sweet. They say WWF instead of WWE, there's unblurred logos, and it includes Goldberg's first loss (Starrcade '98 to Nash) and a Hogan/Nash/Hall v. Austin/Rock where Hogan pins Rock 1-2-3, plus the entire Bash at the Beach matchup (with unedited entrance music.. muffled, yes, but unedited).

I wish they'd put old WWF In Your House shows on DVD.. specifically April '96. Hall and Nash's last PPV.. Shawn vs. Diesel (Shawn defends the title after his big win at Wrestlemania XII), Razor Ramon vs. Vader.. great PPV.

Anyone got any older DVDs? 2002 or before? I really want older ECW PPV's too.

I have a promotional VHS tape for ECW Hardcore Revolution. Got it with a pre-order. Have the original case and original tape, great condition. I wonder how much it'd fetch.

Try looking on ebay, a lot of the old stuff surfaces there.

I still got a boat load of old WWF vhs's. My Blockbuster Online queue has a bunch of "older" dvds too. Right now im watching WWF hardcore, sadly most of the extra features are of Raven getting his ass kicked >

Minnesota.

check eBay for "Tagged Classics." It's a line of European releases of WWF PPVs, *unedited* (no music changes, no logo blurs, no commentary changes) on DVD, two to a set. They're up to WM 11 & 12 in one set, and I think they're equivalent with Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series. They do have other, older IYH PPVs, but for the most part, the DVD releases are for the "big four" (RR, WM, SS, SurSeries).

...... not that he's being used better in TNA.
At least TNA gave Raven the title for a bit. Its a conspiracy i tells ya, they're just trying to keep him down cuz he's a jew :p.

Also, they could just be trying to bring the "younger" wrestlers farther up the chain (i honestly had forgotten than Raven was 42...). Though at 39 i guess Jarrett isnt much better (though according to Wiki, Jarrett is the "Triple H" of the TNA as far as political relations go).

Just tried out Wrestle Kingdom using HD Loader - it works well so far. It plays *identical* to the DoR series, so unless you like playing Puro games (the style is different - expect more 2.9 counts, longer matches, and many visual differences - though at the expense of coherent menus for the non-Japanese inclined), don't waste your time. I enjoy it, but the roster of playable characters is laughably small for a PS2 wrestling game (it's vastly fewer than the King of Colosseum games). I'd pass on it, at least until it's cheap as hell to import.

True true. Its too bad that Raven wasn't given a long enough of a time to hold the belt. Plus he was booked in a manner that made him look weak by having others do run ins to save the match for him. I just feel frustrated by the lack of Raven in the current product. Its not that I watch TNA solely for Raven as I enjoy the product for the most part as a whole. It would be nicer to see him a bit more than once in a great blue moon if you know what I mean.

Also, they could just be trying to bring the "younger" wrestlers farther up the chain (i honestly had forgotten than Raven was 42...).

That's very true as well. I feel that if TNA used Raven right he could help out a LOT in elevating a number of new people coming into TNA. Look at the ladder match he had against AJ Styles from 2003. Sure we all know AJ is phenominal, but watching the match as its own individual match even with Raven winning he still helped make AJ look great.

To me - if anything - that match is my Definitive Best Of match that Raven has had since joining TNA.

Though at 39 i guess Jarrett isnt much better (though according to Wiki, Jarrett is the "Triple H" of the TNA as far as political relations go).

You know as much as I used to rag on Triple H for his politicial position behind the scenes I won't deny that he's earned his spot on the card. He's very good in the ring and his mic skills/character for the most part are spot on. Same with Jeff Jarrett.

Some people out there get too worked up over what goes on backstage that they tend to forget that at the end of the day its a product that is there to (gasp) EN-TER-TAIN us. I know I used to be pretty bad at that myself. It wasn't until (the old fart) Myke said a few things that made me re-examine my stance on wrestling in general.

While I'm still ultimately a TNA mark I can still appriciate the good things that the WWE does. Yes I don't care for McECW. Sorry, but Big Show as champ. No no no. That's lame. If it wasn't for Angle's return and Punk's debut then I wouldn't even bother recording McECW this week.

Even with all the flaws on the Smackdown brand I've been enjoying it quite a bit lately. I hope for god sakes WWE doesn't use Booker T... I mean King Booker as a transistional champ as he's been long overdue for a real World Title run. And hell even if the crowd at GAB didn't show it I really enjoyed the Finlay vs Regal match. Definately one of my favorite matches so far this year in fact.

The only good thing going on RAW is the Flair/Foley fued. I was starting to get into the DX vs Corporation 2.0 fued but it seems to be stuck on first gear since... well... it started. And Edge vs Cena is getting very old. Hopefully after Summerslam then we'll see Edge finally move on to bigger and better things as the champ he is rightfully earned to be.

Sorry folks if this went on a bit long....

Those tagged classics are apparently just VHS masters thrown onto DVD, much like WWE's "Attitude classics" line. The NWO DVD came out either before the name change or during the grace period, which is why it's got unedited WWF stuff on it. Raven's being used very well in TNA given his health problems.

Orton/RVD tag team a go!

Orton revealed the reasoning behind his suspension in the September 2006 issue of WWE Magazine - which features Trish Stratus on the cover. Here is Orton's response regarding the suspension:

Why are you always acting like such an ass?

I'm not anymore. Not since my 60-day unpaid suspension. My problems came to a head when I decided to smoke a joint and someone smelled it and stooged me off. You know who you are, so if you're reading this, thanks. But I also had a few outbursts of anger on the road. I get loud and verbally abusive. But I've nipped that part of me in the bud.

How so?

I attended an anger management clinic in Atlanta. It cost 15 grand for a four-week stay. I had to live down there on the campus. The first week I was there, I was like, OK, I'll do what I have to do to get out of here." But then I started to realize, wow, I was wrong in a lot of these situations. I just got this reputation of being hard to work with, being a dick and everything in the book. But the truth is, I don't flip out anymore.

Orton also talks about his run-ins with Rochelle Loewen and Amy Weber, being "God's gift to women," getting "too much too soon," fines, and much more in the latest issue of WWE Magazine.

The "stooge" in question is the former Brother Love, Bruce Prichard

Flair's reaction to the 3 marriages and personal bits about his dad.. holy crap, his look scares me. He's still giving the look as I type this. I honestly thought he was going to beat the shit out of Foley.

Flair did an amazing job this week, making up for looking like a stooge (calling Foley "fat boy?" please.) the past few weeks. Why can't they do this kind of work with wrestlers who aren't ten-twenty years past their prime?

Myke, I don't even think Foley is much past 40, he just looks like it...

Edit: He just turned 41 last month, and I just saw you said TEN-Twenty not just twenty. Which brings up my next question, what is the prime years for the avg wrestler? I'd say the guys under 25 are too young to really give a fuck about the "biz" (orton, lesnar), but I wouldn't say that there aren't guys that can still get it done in the ring between ages 35-40 at a high level still (Kurt, Benoit, Sabu, RVD, Booker to name a few)
I swear Flair is going to have a heart attack in the ring one day.
Remember when he did (fake) in WCW? That shit was so damn funny, I don't care if you thought it was real or not at the time, it was seriously hilarious. Sure, I was semi-concerned with Flair's health, but with how long the WCW officials were letting him go into his "heart attack" in the ring it was obvious that he wasn't really having a one.

Well, the way Foley takes care of himself (both in terms of what he was willing to do in the ring and how in shape he was) both interacted to make him done with the business 5 years ago, well before 40. I don't consider Foley typical of how long one can last (consider that Batista is 36, so he would only have 4-5 more years if most guys stopped around 40), but merely, as an individual, someone who can't hold a candle to what he used to do. I don't mind that at all, but I merely wish they could teach the young dudes to get my attention the way Foley and Flair do.

Yow. That looks awful. Dude gets singled out to look like hell in all the Xbox titles, apparently. Let me be clear: his moustache looks painted on, and Yuke's fucking sucks with long hair. So much that they should be fired.
I just found out that Comcast in my area is *finally* adding WWE 24/7 on August 15th. Personally I can't wait. :D
i heard about that as well... fucking finally.. do u need digital cable for this?

i dont think hhh looks that bad above...cant wait for game

The crowd is gonna be the story here, not Angle or Punk. It'll be nice to see him finally. I'd like to see the crowd storm the ring during Show/Batista and stop what's sure to be the wrestling equivalent of explosive diarrhea. THAT would make me mark out.

Zomg, WWE HQ has been vandalized!

The police are still in investigation. those vandals must've had some good equipment to get that high up (and make a sign that big) without anyone noticing....

Yea, another stupid angle for DX vs. Corporation 2.0

Some Matt Hardy news:
In an interesting note on Matt Hardy, rumors were circulating on his message board yesterday that he could have been taken off the road for issues not related to his health.

Rather strangely since it was the Webmaster who claimed Hardy had been taken off the road because of health issues, all messages on the topic were either locked or users were asked to "move on" or not talk about the subject.

Word is that Matt Hardy has actually been suspended for 30 days and there are different reasons rumored as to why that is the case.
Uh oh, maybe someone started messing with Ashley... Hardy seems to have bad luck with girlfriends in the WWE...
i heard about that as well... fucking finally.. do u need digital cable for this?
Yes you do as its an On Demand channel.

I don't think I'm the only one who wouldn't be surprised to see the ring covered in junk from the crowd during/after the main event. I can't wait to see the show tonight!
Can anyone make out the chants? I caught "You suck dick" before they dampened it.
"You take steroids", was one.

I think "show your tits" was just chanted too.
I find it funny the Kelly put forth absolutely no effort in trying to get away from Dreamer when he had her over his knee
Kelly Kelly likes it likes it!
