Reminds me of Jim Rome nearly getting his ass kicked by Jim Everett, God I wish the cameras had kept rolling.
God I hate Jim Rome. I wish Jim Everett would have took his helmet, shined it up real nice, turn that sumbitch sideways and stick it straight up his candy ass!

Also, I don't see how being wealthy means you should take shit all the time. So someone won life's lottery, whoopde damn do. All Batista did was say something back and walk away. He has everyright to complain after the match. Also, there is no way Batista could have whipped the fan's ass. It was 2000 on 1. You'd have to be a damn fool to start a fight in that situation (see Ron Artest). Plus, he'd get sued. It's a lose/lose situation for the wrestler.

Tangent...

Until HHH is assigned to ECW then every other wrestler in WWE has a right to bitch. We already have had Taker, Kane, Edge, Cena and Batista in a WWE ring and you mean to tell me that HHH is gold shy all of a sudden?

Also from LOP...

After the show Batista from one side of the ring start talkin trash to the Show an threw some trash at him. Then both big men got in the ring and then gave each other a hug. The brokeback chats started at this point. Batista then left the ring, walked around rindside and gave out hugs & handpounds. Show did the same... A little after Batista left Show got on the mic and said "from the bottom of my heart... you can all kiss my ass" but he started laughing when he was saying it, so that got a pop. Some guy gave Big Show a hat. He took a few pics wit the fans around ringside then he left...

Maybe all this is much ado about nothing. Looks like things may have been better handled than we gave credit for.

I saw a mockup "reserve now" box for Smackdown vs. Raw 07.. it confirms that "ECW Extremists" are on it.. apparently the storyline will bounce from Raw to SmackDown to ECW and who you'll side with or something like that.

Why do you hate Jim Rome so much? I always laugh at least once or twice during his radio show. His TV show is no where near as good though as there is no interaction with the clones. His radio show also has several interesting interviews as well, which are normally much more high profile than whats on TV.

Have you seen the Jim Everett bit before? He kept calling him Chris over and over, until he got attacked.

He's one of those guys that is in love with his own voice. You can literally hear it when he speaks. IMO his radio show is awful, he and his callers/letters try too hard to "out wit" each others "witty" comments too often. It's like watching an [Adult Swim] marathon that consists of nothing but the bumps. I know that is his gimmick, but it is a waste of time. It's a shame because in general his radio interviews with athletes are decent. It's everything else that is worthless. Plus, he was acting like a punkass to Jim Everett thinking that Everett wouldn't do anything because he was a QB and he got what he deserved.

Pretty much most of these sports radio guys suck. Dan Patrick is boring until he invites Keith Olbermann on. Then he tries to be funny on the same level as Olbermann and fails miserably. When that isn't happening he has long and awkward pauses during his comments. Dan is decent on Sportscenter though. Colin Cowherd is a complete ass (even before the Eddie Guerrero comments). The only ones I really enjoy listening to are Mike and Mike in the morning with Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg. They work great together and don't make a point of stroking their ego until they climax on the radio.

I know but that was well over 10 years ago (happened in 92 or 94 I believe). He does not do it anymore and a lot of people feel that was scripted.

Mike and Mike do nothing for me so I guess we are on the opposite ends of the spectrum. The clones trying to outwit each other is my favorite part of the show, but only when people actually do it decently.

Does Kornheiser still do a radio show?

I don't know. He probably doesn't have the time anymore with his Monday Night Football gig coming up.

A work?

Jim Rome must be a closet wrestling fan.

Raw tickets for Atlanta went on presale today. They want $60 for floor seats. $60 for that steaming pile of a show? Yeah, I'm gonna pass. This will be the first Raw I've missed in almost 5 years but I doubt I'll miss a thing. Atlanta usually gets a really good show but I don't see how that's possible at the moment.

I heard that he was up for the announcing job on RAW back when either the King or J.R. left around seven or eight years ago (at least I remember my dad telling me that around that time). Doesn't strike me as a wrestling fan though.

That was even better than I thought it would be. Big Show has always been a funny guy when given the opportunity and though he is supposed to be the bad ass, maybe they will let him crack on his opponents and crowd more often.

Ive never been a fan of the Big Show but lately he has been excellent. I actually look forward to seeing him on tv instead of changing the channel.

The youtube videos are fascinating for what they reveal. Some fans remained shitasses once the tv cameras were off, but the majority seemed relaxed, and they seemed (along with Batista and TBS) to laugh off the tv escapade. As if the crowd felt compelled to play a role of their own! (a hardly debatable point, given the notion of "ECW crowds")

Shaking hands, reaching out to touch the wrestlers, laughing, and not chanting - sure, there was still some garbage throwing, but there seemed to be a whole lot less malice towards the two guys on those videos. The crowd was a work!

Another thing I noticed is how much the crowd reminded me of marine life (the sea, not the soldier). Ever see those barnacles and bottom-dwelling creatures that curl up and hide when seemingly dangerous stimuli approaches them? Watch Batista's entrance again - all these fucks are jamming their hands out, just trying to get a handful of Batista's mantits, a high five, or something. As soon as homeboy said something that gave Batista pause, and he turned around to look at the guy, roughly a dozen pencil-neck wrestling fans cowered from him, curling up like the bunch of ninnies they were. That's funny as hell!

Here's some news on Brock -
--For whatever this is worth, the St. Paul Pioneer Press today claims Brock Lesnar's fight MMA fight will be in October in Las Vegas. Within the industry, the belief is Lesnar has signed with K-1/Hero's. I do know that UFC talked with him but believe they are not going to get him. Neither K-1 nor Hero's has a show in Las Vegas in October, so at least part of that story is false. There is a Hero's show in Japan in October, but if he's going to debut on that show, one would expect he will make an appearance to announce it Saturday night in Tokyo, so we'll know in two days or less about that one. If it is with K-1, for all concerned, it makes the most sense for him to debut on New Year's Eve. Lesnar's lawsuit settlement with WWE saw him for all real purposes win the case outright without an official verdict which would set a bad precedent for WWE's future enforcement of such clauses. He's allowed to do anything he wants to do at this point, at least as it pertains to anything he's considering or has talked about.

Impact has been great so far IMO. There has been a good balance in TV time devoted to all divisions, also all those old WCW'ers continue to impress me.

Edit: Hopefully the ratings go up this week because the show was quality all the way through.

You know if Spike TV wants TNA to be succesful then they need to get it away from those god aweful reality shows they have leading up to Impact. Either that or put it on at a more... shall I say.... better timeslot. Sorry but 11 PM EST is a horrible time for a wrestling show that barely had any adult content. Hell McECW is far more adult and is on an hour ealier.

Otherwise great Impact this week. The only thing missing was another Paparazzi segment. Those are comic gold.

This actually doenst look like a horrible popcorn type action movie.....
Oh boy.... as if See No Evil wasn't pushed in our faces enough.....
Sorry but 11 PM EST is a horrible time for a wrestling show that barely had any adult content. Hell McECW is far more adult and is on an hour ealier.
But the week that ECW was on at 11PM, it still pulled in a 2.2 rating. Shit, even AM Raw is pulling in near the ratings that TNA does, and at a 2AM Sunday timeslot. TNA needs another hour more than it needs a new timeslot right now (although I guess that technically would give it a new timeslot, now wouldn't it?). Even something from 10-12 until they prove they can work with two hours would be a lot better than what they've got now.

And now, some news, including one of the first good bits of ECW news since the relaunch.
All signs point to Trish Stratus taking a Chris Jericho-like hiatus from WWE when her contract expires in September. She's getting married and wants to take time off for it and comedy projects in Canada. Lita has been telling friends that she will also not look to renew her WWE contract when it expires in a few months. She feels she's peaked in WWE and wants to "try new things".

After the 8/1 ECW show from the Hammerstein Ballroom, those in WWE who have been against the ECW relaunch from the start even recognized that the ECW crowd helped make a mediocre show something special. It is expected that once the 12-week trial run on Sci-Fi ends, WWE will run Raw/Smackdown supershows weekly and do independent ECW tapings in smaller venues on Tuesdays.
And like every good wrestling show, you need a comedy bit:

Believe it or not, a 20-year old man was arrested for running around a New Hampshire town and spraypainting "DX" everywhere. I swear, I thought this was a joke when I first heard about it, but you can read the story for yourself by clicking here. The story has made headlines in local papers and on newscasts.

Jeff Hardy is returning to WWE:

http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/jeffreturn

After spending three years combating his personal demons, a refocused and rehabilitated Jeff Hardy is prepared to return to the place where he began his career as a teenager. WWE.com has learned that WWE officials have rehired former Superstar Jeff Hardy, more than three years after his release from the company. WWE.com has tried to contact Jeff about his rehiring for two days, but in typical fashion of the free-spirited Hardy, he has yet to return any of our calls. For this unique athlete, it has been a turbulent, arduous road back to WWE. In 2003, just as Hardy began to make his ascent to the top of World Wrestling Entertainment, he came crashing down as a result of a poisonous drug dependency. He was plagued by an addiction to pain killers and methamphetamine (crystal meth), a highly addictive stimulant.

After showing up late for several WWE events and demonstrating a deterioration in his in-ring performance, Hardy’s last match in WWE was on March 24, 2003. In May of that year, Hardy failed a drug test and after refusing to go into drug rehabilitation, he was subsequently fired from WWE. In 1993, at the age of 16, Jeff and his brother Matt, 19, started working for WWE, wrestling against contracted WWE Superstars. It wasn't until 1998 that the brothers were given full-time WWE deals. That year, the Hardy Boyz almost instantly became top-tier contenders in the WWE Tag Team division.

Both talented risk-takers with dynamic in-ring chemistry, the Hardyz revolutionized sports-entertainment, employing wild aerial maneuvers that did damage to both their opponents and themselves. Capturing both the WWE and WCW Tag Team Championships, the Hardyz made their strongest impact in their epic Tables, Ladders and Chairs Matches with the Dudley Boyz and Edge and Christian.

Shortly after the WWE brand extension in 2002, Matt and Jeff were split apart and Jeff found success as a singles star on RAW. After the split, Hardy began to display his most unorthodox side, adding uniquely colored body paint to his ever-changing hair color. Perhaps the highlight of his singles career was his Ladder Match with Undertaker for the WWE Championship in July 2002. In a match that no one believed Hardy could win, Jeff brought his abilities to a higher level unlike anyone had ever seen in him before. That night, Jeff did not walk out as WWE Champion, but he earned the respect of not only The Phenom, but of all who watched the contest. People started to acknowledge Hardy’s true talent – a talent that was curtailed and snuffed out due to his addiction.

Holding a number of championships, Hardy was en route to reaching the summit of his sports-entertainment career until it all came to an abrupt end due to his erratic behavior and drug use. Overcoming addiction is arguably the greatest victory of Hardy’s life. And as a renewed Jeff Hardy prepares to reintroduce himself to WWE fans, one can only expect Hardy to earn his greatest career victories and even larger triumphs when he makes his long-awaited return home.

Why didn't I guess meth?

Well, good news for Matt, who won't be buried - maybe. ;)

Bad news for TNA. They need to get homies under *contracts*.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Does this mean we'll see the reuniting of the Hardy Boyz, giving Matt the push he finally deserves -- only to the top of a dead division that no one cares about?

If WWE is looking to re-establish the tag division as credible, the Hardy Boyz are a good tag team to help do it though. Then again, so was MNM.
Dammit.

I am surprised they would allow a minor to wrestle back then. I had no idea Jeff was 16 when he started.

Time for a Pat Patterson joke?
Time for a Pat Patterson joke?

I don't really see this hurting TNA much. He may be clean right now, but he is still someone that you cannot completely depend on. Though he does sell a ton of merch so that might hurt.

Well, he hasn't wrestled with them at all this year, I don't think.

They have put other guys in just as high positions of prominence.

I was merely thinking of the tshirts dumbasses wear with his name on it that TNA pushed.
Jeff Hardy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scorch is a 14-year old girl.

This is gonna be a huge hit to TNA merchandise. Anything with Jeff's face was the top sellers on their website. And I believe they just released a Jeff Hardy Action Figure. Smooth Move TNA...

He wrestled for UWF, which was a partnership between Hermie Sadler and TNA. From what I read online, he was still selling merch like crazy at these shows.

Let's see, I fully expect Jeff and Matt to tag for awhile and then somehow split again of course. Then Matt will go back to getting buried while Jeff gets pushed as far as he wants to go.

I strongly believe that WWE always had bigger plans for Jeff Hardy, and looked at him much in the same light they did Shawn Michaels (while Matt was Marty Jennety to them), until Jeff started really going off the deep end with the bodypaint and drug abuse.

I hope he doesn't blow this amazing second opportunity. Up until his tragic death Eddie Guerrero set the standard for successfully overcoming addiction, regaining control of his life, and making it back to where he was in the WWE and beyond. Hopefully Jeff took notes.

WWE has NEVER provided health coverage for the wrestlers. TNA has, however. Jeff coming back could be good, but I don't have high hopes for his return given his TNA run. Hardy had a TNA contract, and it expired. Moore was the last guy they lost due to not having a contract. Meltzer has a writeup on his site on Hardy's return - http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/headlines/default.asp?aID=17017

There's also news today on Hogan being potentially injured. Whether this is legit or just his jobbitis flaring up remains to be seen. http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/headlines/default.asp?aID=17021

So I'm at the airport this morning going down the escalator and Marcus Bagwell is in front of me. I talked to him for about 5 minutes and he was really nice and friendly, a definite change from my last encounter with him several years ago. He also said that he's been talking to Vince and it looks like he will be going back to WWE soon. I didn't get to ask him what brand but it should be interesting (maybe).

I'm filled to the brim with muscle relaxers tonight - you could tell me that the main event of WrestleMania 23 was planned to be X-Pac versus Horace Hogan, and RVD would be competing for his spot in ECW in the next diva search, and I'd still be ecstatic.

I'd also like to say that I bet he's fulla shit about going to WWE. Good to hear he's a nice fellow, though.
So... who do you guys want to see get the next topic?
The Main Event, the Icon, the Showstopper...

My second vote would go to the six time, six time, six time, six time, six time, six time, World Heavyweight Champion.

With all of the people getting suspended, his statement has some merit if only for the reason that they need to fill some roster positions for a period of time. He said that it was both good and bad that he might be going back. Without actually saying it he seemed to imply that he's aware of how crazy Vince has been acting for the last few months but when you get an opportunity to get out of the indies pretty much anybody will take it.
