Can anyone give me some info on Moon Knight?

The only thing I know about him is that he was one of the major players in the most recent Ultimate Spider-man arc. I'm not sure if he was introudced there or not but, man, that cover looks incredible.

As far as the Fantastic Four movie goes, I thought it was pretty horrible and completely agree that kids will love it though. The effects vary greatly between scenes where you can have The Human Torch rendered pretty realistically and yet have Reed Richards' stretching look ridiculous. The biggest problem with the film is that there is NO point to it. Dr. Doom presents ZERO threat to the city. He has no motivation (goodbye Latveria) and he has no big, bad, superhero plan.

Right now I'm reading:
Ultimate Spider-man
Ultimate X-men (I've gotten back into it after becoming a big fan of Vaughn and am now curious to see where it'll go now that he's left.)
Y: the last man (This is my favorite series on the market)

I tried getting into All-Star Batman but I just couldn't. Batman sounded way too off here and the first two issues just didn't capture me.

I read the first volume of Runaways and wasn't all too thrilled with it though I did enjoy it. I plan on beginning Ex Machina this week and I'm considering trying Fables. Anybody recommend it?

I find it funny that the Fantastic Four movie is kid friendly, but it I've seen more skin from Jessica Alba on the commercial for the FF DVD than I did in Sin City. The DVD comes out tomorrow. I'm just not sure if I'm going to pick it up or not.

Fables is very on and off for me. Some arcs are great, while others fall flat on thier faces. Overall id recommend it, but there will be some dud issues thrown about.
Ex took me a while to get into it, but now i make sure to read it every week that it comes in.

Keep reading Runaways. It gets better and better as it goes along.

Last thing is this: READ FELL. Its by Warren Ellis, It's 1.99, and its full of story. Each issue could be a standalone if need be. Its great.

I was debating about whether or not to jump into Runaways v2 but I guess I might as well give it a try. The characters were compelling enough for me to want to go back another go. Plus it's Vaughn. Did I mention Y: the last man? :D

FF2 is shooting for a release date of 7/4/07. Another movie already scheduled for that date...Spider-Man 3. Somehow I think Marvel might have something to say about this. I know they're from 2 different studios but there is no way Marvel didn't inlcude provisions in the contracts to prevent something like this from happening. Spidey will stay and FF will move.

Anyone hear anything about a Alias Omnibus edition coming out next year. Its one of those sets I have been meaning to pick up and read for a long time. If there is a suped up Hardcover coming out with all 28 issues I think I will wait it out a little longer.

Anyone into Walking Dead? I started picking it up earlier in the year and now its my favorite title. I always sort of ignored the B/W books, but this one has me hooked.

Shameless Plug: Updated my Tradelist with a few lots of comics for sale. Mostly runs from the past year JSA Classified, GL: Rebirth, Omac, Days of Vengeance, etc. Collection is starting to take up to much space again.

If you want your mainstream mixed with your Walking Dead, try Marvel Zombies that came out yesterday. Its written by the same guy, and is a nice twist on the whole zombie thing.

Its awesome. I never read the Ultimate FF storyline that this branches from but it was a great read. There's an awesome twist about half way through the first issue that had me going, WTF?

As far as Friendly Neighforhood Spider-man this week... wow.

And then there was Ultimates 2 #9, definetly worth the wait. Oh and when they decide they want a massive storyline, they really go all out.

Thats the best part of the enitire ultimates storyline...you never know who will live, who will die, or even if they are who they say they are.

And im trying to sell out of Marvel Zombie before the weekends over...too much fun for anyone to pass up

SPOILERS

No kidding, this arc of Ultimates has been kind of brutal, they're killing people off left and right. You had Hawkeye's family, then Jarvis?!?! (out of nowhere too!), and maybe even Quicksilver (although I doubt it). Then again, look at what they did with Beast in Ultimate X-Men, I thought for sure that he wasn't going to be dead but then sure enough, no more Beast.

Holy crap! Just finished Ultimates #9 and hot damn that was one incredible issue. The arwork is (as usual) incredible and the best part was how incredibly everything came together to form this story. I can't wait to read the next issue! (only about 6 months and counting...)

Loved the Marvel Zombies thing. I collected to the first two tpb for Walking Dead. Loved them and still reread them from time to time. I wish I had picked up the first appearance of the the Marvel zombieverse in the pages of Ultimate Fantastic Four.

Picked up the FF movie. My son loved it. Meh. I did like the bickering between Johnny and Ben. I think that is the only thing they picked directly out of the comic.

Ok, first and foremost I need to say that I am officially addicted to comics. It is evidenced by my journeying out in the snow that has been going for a day straight (we're at about a foot) in my rear wheel drive mustang. I almost turned back when I couldn't get up the hill at the entrance to my apartment complex but I ventured on it was TOTALLY WORTH IT.

SPOILER WARNING

EVERY comic I got this week was awesome and I haven't even gotten to Secret Wars #5 cause I need to reread the previous 4 issues. Although I'm still not sure what the storyline that just ended in Cable Deadpool was all about. Oh well, whatever.

I must admit that I'm a little pissed about the ending of X-men, so your telling me Havok is leaving AGAIN?!?! Not even counting his "death", how many times has he just picked up and left the X-men?

Uncanny X-men was really interesting, the whole issue takes place in 24 seconds and every single one of those seconds is BRUTAL.

I am a little disappointed with the spider-man arc at this point. Isn't this the exact same thing we saw a little bit ago in Sensational Spider-man while Avengers Disassembled was going on? We'll see how it goes but I'm a little disappointed that it seems to be headed the same way.

The last Marvel issue I purchased was House of M. I not really interested in anything remotely Marvel. I hear Ultimates was good. Might go back and pick up some of those issues.

I think some people are just inherently Marvel people or DC people. Sure you can dabble in the other side but they mainly stick to one side or the other. Personally, I'm a bit more of a marvel fan but I like some of the stuff DC does as well.

Wait, I take it back. I bought the Marvel Zombies book. I did like that. I love Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead.

I still have a stack of comics sitting at work waiting to be read...too bad im off today. Son of M, X-men, GLX-mas Special, DMZ, Action Comics...and about 15 others. It's gotten to the point where i dread catching up on the new stuff. With the exception of a short list of books (Y:The Last Man, Fell, Infinite Crisis, Defenders) im normally reading them "for the job" or "research".

Thats why i dont want to work at a video game store...dont want to get sick of my favorite hobby

Since I had already sunk the cash in 1-4 in Secret War I went ahead and picked up 5. I don't know about everyone else, but I felt the whole series was a let down. Once again the late book issue with Marvel has me swearing off Marvel for awhile again. With the quality of DC books lately and the upcoming twist in One Year Later I am taking a break from Marvel monthlys. I will just stick to the trades on the few worthwhile marvel titles Runaways, Powers, Astonishing, Ultimates, etc.

BTW Thanks to everyone who helped me twindle down the collection a bit. I lowered the prices and removed shipping charges for anything I have left on my trade list. Plus offering a free book with each purchase. Sample of what is left below....

Captain America Issues 1 - 6 $15 (Out of time storyline)

Batman 635 - 641 $18 (Return of Jason Todd storyline and followup storyline)

Days of Vengeance 1 - 6 $15

Secret war was a let down, much like House of M (My opinion), but both jump started other ideas or expanded on them enough where they werent total wastes.

But yeah...Ive tried to stay neutral...but im a DC guy now.

oh and BUY FELL.

Yeah, i do that at work too. "So you like Warren Ellis? BUY FELL" "So, your reading Archie? BUY FELL" It's all purpose really.

When I was young I was always a huge Marvel guy. Barely bought any DC. Now its the othey way around. Probably since I always get hooked to anything Johns is doing. Read the hints in Wizard about 1 year later the other day. I am stoked for the directions some of the series are taking and probably end up picking up several more series with one year later. Now if only Johns would have stayed with Flash.

After a couple of what seemed to be slow weeks. The lineup for the week looks great. Going to have to head over at lunch tomorrow to get GL, GL Corps, Inifinite and Justice...

Well it looks like we're finally going to find out what's going on with Red Hood/Jason Todd: http://www.newsarama.com/dcnew/Mar06previews/previews.htm The Batman annual will have the story and it looks like it should be pretty interesting. Its scheduled to be on sale for Mar. 8. I can't wait personally, this story has really gotten me interested in Batman and I can't wait to see where it goes now.

Crisis was great..you finally get to see who took out Martian Manhunter (No, it wasnt Power Girl nor Superman...either one). Surprised to see who all is behind it really.

Justice looks great...flipped through it, but didnt have enough time to read it.

Love the new Blue Beetle outfit

Adventures of superman was good too.

um....

Generation M, Deadly Genesis, Fantastic Four...didnt have time to read.

Ultimate Wolverine vs. hulk was weird as hell..but shows one of the most hardcore things Wolverine has ever had to do (yep, he DID get ripped in half).

If you like the Punisher (or Preacher) at all, read Punisher/Bullseye...fun AND violent (very welcome back frank like)

Wizard seemed interesting for once (Superman movie, more Blue Beetle news)

Thats all i can remember..now off to bed because i need to get up and deal with a huge new release day mixed with x-mas shoppers...shoot me now.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!

So was that Alexander Luthor and Earth 2 Superboy behind this whole thing? Those fuckers! My question though is how did they get out before Earth 2 Supes broke out in IC #2? They made it seem as if when Kal-L broke through the barrier that it was the first time those heroes were able to get through.

BTW, did anyone buy the Perez cover? How could you when you compare it to the Lee cover?

I couldn't believe that Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk, I mean I saw him getting ripped in half in all the previews but I figured, no way. I was wrong and that was hardcore.

Deadly Genesis was interesting but I'll be damned if each issue isn't just making more questions rather than answers.

Generation M is getting to be really boring, I mean so what if mutants are getting killed? That and the fact that there is WAY too much dialog, that issue alone must have taken me 1/2 an hour to read.

Skip generation M, go buy X-factor. Madrox fuckin rules.

And yeah...i have NO clue how the timing works in IC right now...but im pretty sure we'll find out next month.

Yeah I was thoroughly impressed with X-Factor last week. It was dark, but in a fun way.

Loved IC #3. Read it about 4 times already. Beautiful art and I was impressed with Kal-L pleading with Batman to help recreate Earth 2. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Okay, I'm totally geeking out over this, so please bear with me...

:bouncy: ADI GRANOV SAID HE LIKES MY WORK!!!!! :bouncy:

I posted over the jinxworld forums and asked if I can show him some of my stuff. He gave me a wonderfully helpful critique and said that my pieces "are fantastically well painted"!!!

Here's a link to Adi's forum over at jinxworld. http://www.606studios.com/bendisboard/forumdisplay.php?f=19

If you haven't ever visited the jinxworld forums you definitely owe it to yourselves as comic book fans to stop by. You can even read about Brian Michael Bendis and his xbox360!

Im no artist, but I think your artwork is aboslutely sick. How long did it take for you to make each of those? And congrats on getting props from Adi. It must've been such a thrill.

Thanks man! It took about 50 hours for Wolverine, and because of all of those tormented souls, it took about 70 hours for Cloak & Dagger.

Dude, the smile on my face is ear to ear, and has only faded slightly! Adi is one of the nicest guys ever. I'm unbelievably stoked! The only thing that can top this feeling will be if I can actually get work from Marvel. My fingers are still crossed!!!

I'd be giggling like a little school girl if my girlfriend wasn't around!

I actually never come in this thread, but clicked on it accidentally. Since I was here and saw the kind coment about your art, I thought I'd take a look. Great stuff, man. I especially like The Fool. Really nice work, especially your shading. It sounds minor, but the light and dark aspects of it are done really well.

I agree with his criticisms, and i'll throw in something about Dagger's face (not sure what's cathing my eye the wrong way) but otherwise im quite impressed. Reminded me of the Runaways first seasons covers. You've got talent, keep at it! :)

And yeah...IC #3... guess i was wrong about Powergirl taking out the Martian Manhunter.

I threw this idea out on Newsarama last week sometime, and they've just now gotten to the same conclusion...but anyone else seeing Earth Prime as thier new home in a few months? 2 things -
1. Nightwing Cover - Statue of Liberty. The real one...not some altered Gotham lady.
2. VERY coy clues on where Nightwing and other bludhaven/gotham people are going to end up...including a slightly different take on Gotham Central (NYPD capes?)

Thank you! That one is actually one of my older pieces, but one of the few that I still really like. Thank you so much for the kind words! :D

Hmmm... not quite sure what's throwing you in Dagger's face, but it may also be that the image I posted is rather small so there might be some distortion there. But that's still a valid point and I'll work on that! Thanks Nigel!

Just looked at the version with just her showing. Looking it over, i think its that the light bloom makes her neck look like old woman neck. I think the detail lines are a bit too prevaliant on the neck, making it look a little to wrinkly.

Mind you, i have no artistic talent and i only WISH i had your talent (im using your snowman as a small pic on my desktop :) ), its just after many hours each week of looking at comic cover art, i end up being a nit picker.

Ah, I see what you mean. And there's nothing wrong with being a nit picker, as I am one myself. ;)

I'll be posting those 2 pieces, as well as a Spider-Man piece, and a Hulk piece, in my deviant gallery in the next week or so. They'll be at a higher resolution and if anyone here is interested, I'll post to let you know when they go up. I'm really glad you guys like my stuff! Hopefully one day (soon) I'll be making covers for some of these books instead of just reading them!

All-Star Batman and Robin 3, Superman/Batman 23 and Daredevil: Father 5 all shipped in the same week. In related news, there was an early frost in hell this morning.
All-Star Batman and Robin 3, Superman/Batman 23 and Daredevil: Father 5 all shipped in the same week. In related news, there was an early frost in hell this morning.
The next issue of Spider-man Black Cat ships too...
The next issue of Spider-man Black Cat ships too...
True, but since 4 shipped on time I cut the book some slack. I'm still waiting on Iron Man 5. Superman/Batman is so late at this point that even though 23 just came out this week as of next Wednesday 24 is already 5 weeks late. And that's after at least 2 resolicits. Now that's bad.

Superman Batman actually kept with the whole Red Sun/Batman Beyond thing this issue too. The people behind all of it are shown...and unfortunately it kinda shows how far behind the book is.

Suggestions for the week:
Young Avengers Special (back story)
She-Hulk #3 / #100 (oversized and with reprints)
Batman (Black Mask vs. Jason Todd)
Catwoman (the Zatanna issue)

and not a personal recomendation, but i knew a lot of people liked it, so the new Fallen Angel is out too

When you mention Catwoman/Zatanna issue do you mean this is the issue where Catwoman finally confronts Zatanna as to whether or not she brainwashed her? IF so, I'm definetly picking it up.
This should be good then.
Oh it was. Along with just about everything else this week. Oh, and adding to the list of long delayed titles out this week, Hunter Killer #5 was every bit as good, if not better than the previous 4 issues.
