So... You posted in the WWE thread to tell us you don't watch WWE? Nice. I think I'll go and post in the "My Ex-Roommate is a Porn Star" thread to say that I've never had an ex-roommate turn out to be a porn star.

As someone who has spent far too much time in the wrestling thread, yes.

Yes, I fucking did. Sue me.

I didn't say I don't follow wrestling, or I never watch wrestling, or I'm not interested. I said I'm trying to give up WWE. Which isn't like I'm missing any in-ring action anyway.

Besides, I'm more important than you'll ever be.

...seriously? One can not watch WWE and still have an interest in wrestling. Most people I know only do so to keep up with certain guys they like(Flair, Orton, HHH, etc.) but dislike the shows in general. Personally I stopped watching regularly quite some time ago, maybe 2-3 years I can't even remember.

Fair enough. You just sounded like one of those fanboys who likes to thread crap on things that they can't stand.

And you can go fuck yourself on this one!

Ouch, sometimes the truth can cut like a rapier.

Maybe next time you'll think twice before crossing Cags No1 Jamie Noble fan.

I hope you aren't being serious there. That's some "Narcissist" Lex Luger stuff right there.

You know, myke brings up a good point... there's obviously a fairly 'regular' group of wrestling thread posters, so I've got a pseudo-poll question for all of you:

We all post here. We all read about wrestling and talk about it to some degree. How many of you actually still WATCH wrestling on a weekly basis? This questions mainly pertains to WWE, but I'd be curious about TNA and ROH as well.

I read about it daily, come here all the time, yet I haven't watched on weekly basis in close to 8 years. The last beginning-to-end program I watched was WM20.

I watch Raw, Smackdown, ECW, Impact, and ROH on HDNet every week. I also watch the WWE and TNA PPVs, and any ROH shows on PPV or released on DVD. My mind is slowly melting.

I stopped watching Smackdown in 2005. Prior to a couple weeks ago, I hadn't missed a single episode of Raw in over eight years.

I still follow it, reading results and talking about it here. I just can't watch it all the time anymore. Most of it blows, to put it simply. This statement is coming from someone who has been watching for around 21 years.

I try to at least watch some wrestling every week whether it be WWE or TNA. It's more fun in person and I'll be at the Smackdown broadcast in Roanoke in a few weeks.

What is this ROH and TNA you speak of? I've never heard of them!

I actually tune into all of WWE programming regularly. It usually serves as background noise, but it's on nonetheless. TNA really depends on my mood. Sometimes I watch, and other times I forgo it and pop in a game.

ROH is an unusual case. If I could watch it on TV I would religiously, but since I'm stuck watching it on youtube I get lazy since I can watch it at my own leasure. Because of this I'm currently 3 weeks behind in ROH proramming.

Oh, myke, must you stir the pot? That bordered on cheap heat.
What is this ROH and TNA you speak of? I've never heard of them!
It's wrestling. You know, your pa used to promote it, remember?

007, here's my breakdown:

WWE: I stopped watching Raw almost 2 years ago with the exception of Punk's extremely brief run as champ last summer. Once he dropped the belt, I immediately dropped Raw again. I stopped watching ECW more than 2 years ago and haven't watched it since. I dabble in Superstars for now since it's primarily wrestling. I record SD and watch it later but usually in full. No PPV's, not even feeds.

TNA: I watch Impact each week and try to catch a feed for some of the PPV's. I enjoy TNA right now. It's not exceptional but it is entertaining and right now that's enough.

ROH: I started watching the Youtube uploads from HDNet and I like it. They definitely need to do more to promote their house shows via HDNet though. If you want to see good wrestling on TV you can't beat ROH right now. Danielson/Black one week, Aries/Strong the next week with a Danielson/Black rematch the following week.

I haven't missed an episode of RAW, Smackdown, or ECW in over 3 years. I usually don't watch TNA or ROH and I only order the "big" PPVs to watch. My wife & I will be attending "The (Great American) Bash" in a few weeks in Sacramento.

I watch WWE and TNA on a regular basis, but lately the main events for Raw/SD have been pretty boring, so I usually do something else once 10:50 rolls around.

TNA, as bad as it gets, is usually pretty entertaining, wrestling-wise.

I haven't watched WWE weekly programming since Wrestlemania. I get my updates from you all.

I still post here because I LIKE wrestling, and one day hope that WWE ceases to suck like it has lately. Also, we get into interesting old-school discussions from time to time.

TNA: I've probably seen about 3 episodes total, mostly trying to get into the product when I met Chris Harris. It reminded me of WCW's dying days, for reasons I just can't quite put my finger on...

ROH: I tried, but there's no easy way for me to watch it (Youtube's not "easy," sorry).

By title? No, it's 2nd-worst. Last thread was the worst. :)

Not to be this way because it REALLY doesn't matter, but hell... first Black World Heavyweight Champ, and all we get on him is the post-retirement gimmick?

Anyhoo. :)

Ron Simmons was NOT the first black guy to win a World Title. Do not disrespect Bobo Brazil.
WWE are planning ahead, under the impression, that The Bash will be Jeff Hardy's last match with the company. Of course, plans can always change.
.

We all know you've heard of TNA otherwise you wouldn't have put your new show on the same night as them.

Well, I try to catch TNA when I can and Smackdown but I don't normally watch RAW or ECW because of their time slots. I enjoy watching since I've been doing so most of my life.

Sorry man, damn.

Also, Hey guise, I'm doing this magazine cover for Computer Graphix and I chose to do mine on Puroresu. Jushin Liger makes the cover, but what else do you guys think would be good articles? I need 6, one more with a graphic. I was going to do Misawa, but I figured Misawa and Liger on the front page would be too much.

I don't think Bobo ever officially won a world title - although he did win the Sheik's version of the U.S. title. Iceman Parsons won the WCCW Title before Simmons won the WCW Title, so if one counts that as a world title, then he won one before Simmons did. No matter if he won a world title or not, Bobo certainly broke down a ton of color barriers, and Ernie Ladd broke some down as well years later.

Nah, I know saying "Damn" has little to do with wrestling, but let's face it, almost every wrestler of importance has already had a thread, so a catchphrase is all I could think of.

*edit* Ah, shit I should have done a Beautiful People Thread. Ah well....

Fuji-san is still displeased.

Anyhoo, I typically catch wrestling on the DVR a few days after it airs and even that's only if the spoilers say it's worth watching. Now that I've got HDNet, I'll probably start following ROH here and there, but I'm nowhere near the die-hard I once was.

With SD and ECW on Hulu, I can be even lazier about watching shows than I've been over the past few months. It's great not having to adhere to a strict schedule for shows that just take up a half hour of a your time, let alone 1 1/2-2 hours of it like wrestling shows can.

Agreed. That's why I record SD for later viewing. No way am I watching 2 hours of wrestling every Friday night. When it's recorded I'm usually done in just over an hour and on my own schedule.

I used to be a die hard fan around 1999-2001. I caught every episode of EVERY WCW, ECW & WWF show and watched damn near every WWF PPV. I would watch religiously, but ever since WCW & ECW folded my interest in wrestling started to diminish.

As of right now, I watch Raw here & there, Smackdown once every 3 weeks or so, ECW randomly and TNA / ROH never. I also catch every PPV since WM, since the local BWW hosts them and catch them with friends.

I watch wwe every week, even though it's terrible lately.

I miss wCw, but can't get into TNA. I think it's that Don West guy. I can't stand him.

I've never really watched ROH. Don't know any of the names. I don't get HDNet, and don't really want to watch them on youtube.

Oh, you're right, WWA world champ. So let me amend:
Not to be this way because it REALLY doesn't matter, but hell... first Black World Heavyweight Champ in any real sense of the word and in a federation anyone gave a fuck about, and all we get on him is the post-retirement gimmick?

:)

I don't know what happened, but in the last few months I just haven't given a shit for the first time in 10 plus years...am I outgrowing wrestling?

I watch Raw every Monday and ECW on Tuesdays. I work on Fridays so I cant catch as much Smackdown as a i like. I do catch almost every PPV. Going to the three hour Raw in Charlotte on the 15th

I've watched every show for years now. Raw, Smackdown, ECW, TNA, ROH, lucha libre, etc. Before, I recorded them on a VCR. Now, it's DVR.
WWE: I stopped watching Raw almost 2 years ago with the exception of Punk's extremely brief run as champ last summer. Once he dropped the belt, I immediately dropped Raw again. I'm close to being done with RAW for a bit here. Even as an Randy Orton mark its either stale or just outright insulting/dumb. I haven't watched Smackdown in eons namely because I tend to forget its on. I do watch ECW every week and really enjoy it. Its fun to see the new talent coming into the company as well. Record a few weeks neo and give it a chance. You might enjoy it.

TNA: I watch Impact each week and try to catch a feed for some of the PPV's. I enjoy TNA right now. It's not exceptional but it is entertaining and right now that's enough.

I'll be honest in that last week's Impact is the first time I'd watched an entire Impact from start to finish in over at least a year. And you know for the most part it was pretty fun. We got a fun X Division title match, a fun (but way too short) main event between Styles and Daniels, some fun plot developments... and some Raven guy returned.

I got my DVR set to record Impact since the last 30 minutes of this week's MLS game on ESPN2 overlaps into the first 30 minutes of Impact. Obviously MLS comes first here. But if TNA gets their weekly TV product to be consistantly good alongside the PPVs then I'll keep watching. I don't expect TNA to be 100% perfect by any means but as long as the overall product at least good (and consistant) then I'm happy.

Has it gotten better since the third show on HDNet? Honestly I got frustrated with the overall production of the show on HDNet since it just lacked the overall ROH vibe. If its gotten better then I'll have to at least watch the last few shows to catch up a bit.

I forgot they show ECW on there. I wanted to see the Hart Dynasty so I will have to take time during the weekend to watch it.

Y'know, I just saw " the wrestler " and I don't know whether I want to believe that the movie is an accurate depiction of how wrestlers from the 80s end up or if it's over exaggerated for the drama of the movie. Okay I don't want to believe that it's an accurate depiction. It's depressing as hell.

Other than that, it's great. Mike Rourke is a great actor. I love the way it's filmed, the general quality of it, and Randy the Ram is such a likable character but it's so hard to watch without thinking " why didn't he go to Japan?" or " Why didn't he go to WCW? " and wondering what the hell happened during those 20 years. That and it kind seems like it makes a point to make the entire professional wrestling business seem pathetic in itself while exposing it. I'm surprised that many wrestlers liked it.

I still watch Raw every week and sometimes Smackdown, ECW, and TNA when I have nothing to do.

Excited about Raw cause they're coming here in about 3 weeks and this will be my first WWE live.

WWE has re-signed Chris Mordetzky, better known as Chris Masters. He is expected to forgo developmental and debut on television soon.

Masters, who is now 26 years old, was released from World Wrestling Entertainment on November 8, 2007 after being suspended for 60 days for having violated the company's Substance Abuse and Drug Policy a second time.

Masters has largely wrestled overseas during his time away.

:whistle2:k

Haven't really watched hardcore since 2000. I usually stay up with wrestling news from this thread. I am starting to get back into wrestling though with the release of numerous quality DVD's from the WWE (Pre John Cena Era).
:whistle2:k
Yeah, I listened to his shoot interview. Supposedly he's been wrestling around the world and learning different styles. What if Masters is the next Steve Austin?
So they got rid of one guy who got caught with roids for another one?

Very smart. #-o
Well, he isn't as big and to some they wouldn't even realize its him when they see him. Hopefully, this time he has a better gimmick.
