Oooh. I didn't think of comparing it to the HBK angle from awhile back. A very valid point - the worst thing about the angle with JBL and HBK was that it wasn't believable at all.

I could believe, OTOH, that Kip James ain't livin' high on the hog (to use the 'billy phrase).

I've always been a fan of Kip's, but never a fan of his gimmicks. I'm eager to see how this is going to pan out. Hopefully some good matches will be thrown in.

I haven't read that yet, but I just signed up for Twitter, and Joey styles is fucking annoying, constantly calling Obama a marxist.

I've been wondering 2 things-

1. Where's Kane? He showed up on Smackdown for 2 weeks and then vanished. JR said he wasn't injured, and that Kane was doing overseas promotion one week, but as for the rest of the time, who knows?

2. Why was Evan Bourne, arguably ECW's most popular star, off TV for 3 weeks? And ever since he's come back, he's been feuding with Mark Henry, a guy who's been treading water for atleast the last 6 months.

Watching ROH for the first time in forever. The four-way between Danielson, Black, Lynn, and Aries is pretty solid - I laughed when the commentator referred to the Camel Clutch as "humbling". My only question is why do people cheer for Bobby Dempsey?

Steiner rulz. Such an entertaining character. I read on the internet that Nash was actually feeding him stuff during wCw, but I don't know about that because Nash isn't as good as Steiner on the mic.

Eh. It's annoying, but it really makes me feel bad for the guy. A grown adult male making the kinds of arguments he does - that's pretty sad.

Might as well twitter "Obama is poopy," seeing as how it's about on intellectual par with the other twitters he's made.

You can hate Obama, you can disagree with his policies - but you can do that and make coherent statements like an adult with dignity and self-respect. Styles fails to even begin to approach the latter.

Cornette saying that political radio show hosts were heels cutting promos to get themselves over, and they couldn't really be stupid enough to believe what they say, has been something I've maintained for many, many years now.

I don't agree with everything Cornette says, but it's never a dull listen.
 
I've listened to all of the cornette's commentaries on the who's slamming who website. They have one on the particularly humorous " wwf brawl for all", which was a shoot fighting contest in the WWF. I'd suggest everyone give that one a listen.

Also, not wrestling related, but I think that everyone slightly interested in boxing should watch the documentary " Tyson" , which is about "IRON" Mike Tyson.

Went to the WWE "Supershow" last night with all 3 brands here in p'cola. Pretty decent crowd, Only the upper level was kind of bare.

Evan Bourne def. Kidd from the Hart Dynasty
Glamazon/Perez def. Bella Twins

Overall a pretty solid show, what surprised me is it lasted a full 3 hours 7:30 - 10:30, last couple house shows I saw only lasted 2 hours. I was also surpised Steamboat worked a house show. I haven't seen him live since a WCW TV taping back in the early 90s.
 
Impact thoughts -

This show ruled. The opener had some good X division action, and better yet, had Don West further treating Tenay like a fool. Foley noting the difference between the TNA Title and a menstrual cycle also got a laugh out of me, as did Sabin's promo. Shane Douglas' promo where he complained and yelled did nothing to make me want to see him face Daniels. I've never been a big fan of him on the mic, but I don't recall him resorting to YELLING REALLY LOUDLY all the time to make his point - he usually just cursed a lot and said he'd franchise someone's ass.

The Raven-Dr. Stevie-Daffney stuff ruled, and Taylor's new booty short attire is excellent. It's a shame she doesn't have much of a booty to show off in them. Victoria's brawl with the TBP wasn't as good as last week's, and I don't like the new name all that much. It's not the worst name, but if they could legally use the name she was known by on international TV for over five years, why not use it?

The Jarrett-EY promo was excellent - Young's character has some depth to it for the first time ever. They were starting to go down that road months ago, but didn't do anything with it, and I'm excited about the idea of him facing Jarrett - especially after remembering how much better the horrid Roode-EY program got with the addition of Jarrett as EY's best friend.

Jesse Neal's debut was...a match. The only thing memorable about it to me was his completely altered look from just a few months ago, or whenever it was when they took Rhino out of his main event-level position and plopped him into yet another go-nowhere mid-card angle.

The ODB-Deaner training video was the funniest thing on the show that didn't involve Steiner ranting about Joe being fat, FAT, HE'S FAT! Deaner's wacky faces combined with the Zubas AND fanny pack combined to make greatness. And ODB's cleavage didn't hurt matters either. Joe-Nash was fairly short, but also good, and kept the streak alive for Joe being rebuilt as a world-beater after months of this "NATION OF VIOLENCE" derailing that. Good show overall, although the only thing that made me want to see Slammiversary was the AMW-Daniels/AJ video package.

So far, Kofi pinned Regal to retain the US Title [Trouble in Paradise], Jericho pinned Rey Mysterio ti win the IC Title for the 9th time [Unmasked Rey as he went for the 619 and rolled him up for the 3... they didn't show his face and Rey covered up very quickly.] They are up to the ECW Title match now.

Is it just me or are they FLYING through this PPV? It seems like most of these matches are getting 10 minutes max. Granted, I assume they're going to give the ladder match a bunch of time and we've still got the Cena/Show snoozemission match to sit through, but with an injured Batista in your main event, I'd think they'd want to add time to the undercard so they can shorten his match.

Which logically shits on the World Title if that's not the biggest match of the night. Cena and Show have effectively squashed their brand's championship without even wrestling for it.
