er. I have an Intec PS2 aluminum case, similar to this one:
It's neat, but you can't really put anything in it except a PS2, because of the dividers. Duh, right? Well, I wanted to use it to store other crap.
I tugged on the dividers and found they weren't fastened into the box structurally, so I pulled them out and gutted all the foam, padding, and lining from the bottom portion. Turns out, the box is actually wood under the aluminum. Sandpapered down the inside to get rid of the remnants of the foam and glue residue. Vacuumed it out and wiped it down.
Measured the box and made some paper templates of the bottom and sides, allowing for the hinge arm, etc. Used the templates to cut a few sheets of black craft foam (looks like thin neoprene) and relined the box without the dividers.
Looks schweet, the case was free, the refurb cost a grand total of $2.50 for the three sheets of craft foam, and it took me about 3 hours, all told.[/QUOTE]
