Why do I get the feeling the guest host didn't show up for Raw.
You're probably right

Thanks, guys. I appreciate it. :)

That Alicia Fox-Ashton Kutcher-Zack Ryder segment was pretty bad--but no where near as terrible as Buzz Alderin's segments.

The best thing about it was the Goldust appearance.
Why is Evan Bourne in the main event?
Because he's a good wrestler? No, wait, that would make sense and we are talking about WWE.

I wonder what he did to merit this treatment. I mean, let's be real, this guy has been a jobber for years, and all of a sudden he gets put in a opening segment with Edge, and then pins Sheamus in the main event.

Evan Bourne/Matt Sydal as John Cena's "little buddy" could do wonders for Bourne's development as a WWE character.

But I think this was a one-shot main event push. :(

I don't know what has changed--but I like it. :D

Who knows, maybe he was being real when he said he wanted to take a shot at the big time. Considering the Daniel Bryan angle has been straddling reality, I wouldn't be suprised if Bourne actually complained and management told him "ok, cut a promo about that and we'll give you a main event match with the big boys."

As far as I can remember, he was pinned by Triple H twice (Elimination Chamber and WM). Other than that, lots of wins or disqualification losses.

I could see Vince getting pissed off about McIntyre's push shitting the bed and just trying to push someone the crowd already likes regardless of how much they lose.

i was actually liked evan being in the main event, it was nice seeing someone else for a change.

hopefully its a chance for him to move up, maybe taking rtruth's belt...

first live raw ive watched in a long time, since all primetime shows are off atm.

Indeed. I thought the Uso brothers did a good job tonight as well - the one in gray (Jimmy?) seemed very comfortable on the mic. Also liked the 2 man version of Umaga's toss Samoan Drop they did.

I guess we can all agree that Kutcher is the worst guest host so far. For all the other hosts and their stupid/boring segments, at least they actually showed up to the event.

I was hoping for the sheer awkwardness that would ensue from Liam Neeson co-hosting Raw, but should be alright with Rampage, Bradley Cooper, and the 3rd guy I can't remember the name of.

The Edge and Evan opening sure was different, even if it did lead to the same old routine of guys coming out leading to a match announcement. Ashton appearing on-screen with Ryder was weird. As was him appearing with Bret. And Orton. And everyone else who is a much bigger star than him. Miz and Ashton's stuff was pretty funny, and I loved the announcement of Daniel vs. Miz. It wasn't the U.S. title match I was hoping for between them as their first match, but this wound up still being pretty good.

Truth-Jericho was pretty long for a mid-card Raw match, and also pretty good aside from a scary moment with the hat rack crack where he couldn't quite get him up for it fully. Aside from that, it was a well-done match that at least attempted to Truth over to a higher level. Jericho's ability to go up and down the card on any show in any title division and put guys over and still remain over on a main event-level is astounding.

Bret's backstage deal with the Hart Dynasty was a good way to setup the Usos as major deals and establish that he won't play favorites. Santino and Eve vs. Regal and Maryse was better than the usual divas match due to Regal being incredible. Santino was funny in his pre-match bit, but I expected more from his post-match celebration after learning that Kozlov chose him as his partner. Maryse's red outfit was incredible.

The viewer's choice announcement seemed to be code for "our writing team is exhausted", but if done right, it could make for a nice show. Vince coming out at all was a surprise. I thought for sure they'd wait to bring him out for the Drew storyline, but him coming out on the live show was a bit more exciting. Vince and Bret have incredible chemistry together, which makes everything they do on the mic impossible to turn away from. Lots of weird stuff here, with Vince playing both face and a heel and trying to weave their real-life history into this GM storyline while referencing their awkward WM match and hoping that Bret's run now has a happy ending. It all made sense in a way, but was really weird to see unfold. Beautiful though - it's like Vince has come about as close as he can to letting bygones be bygones and the salute by him to Bret at the end was sweet.

Daniel Bryan vs. Miz was the best two minute match ever. Bryan debuted his swank WWE gear that he wore in his Lance Cade dark match for the first time on WWE TV .The crowd was hot for it, these two had great intensity with everything they did, and they got the umaplata crossface over instantly by having it nearly win the match for Bryan via submission but for the first time that I can recall, a submission move being turned into a pin ACTUALLY RESULTED IN A PIN. Then Miz beat him, but was beaten up AND THROWN INTO COLE. Bryan killed two birds with one stone. Then Cole bitched and moaned afterwards after already going on a glorious bitch-rant during the match. Good God this ruled. They've screwed a lot up with this feud, but it's recovered nicely.

The Usos/Tamina promo was way better than I expected since they just got called up. I expected them to be awkward, but they were naturals in every way and pull off the swank attire really well. The crowd got into them too, which is good since the company desperately needs new acts to get over, and the faster that happens, the better. Then the Harts came out, but got beaten up again - as King said, this gave them more credibility than last week since it wasn't a sneak attack this time. Great booking here, and in one week, they've taken something that I thought would die on the vine and hurt the tag titles into something that the crowd seems to care about and should help get new guys over.

The Zack-Ashton hitman discovery thing went on a too long, and the ending looked terrible as Alicia's axe kick looked terrible. Edge's re-injuring of Orton worked well at giving Cena an opening for a new partner and once again allowed for a new guy to get over on a main event stage. In this case, it was Evan Bourne, which makes logical sense given the attack from Edge earlier, but is quite a surprise since he's, well, Evan Bourne and hasn't been booked very well since coming to Raw. Not exactly the first guy you'd suspect for a main event push, but sometimes that works really well. Bourne as Ricky Morton made for an awesome tag team match, and the crowd was incredibly hot for it. They were hot for pretty much everything, but really dug this match. Sheamus and Bourne have always had great chemistry, with Sheamus as the bully and Bourne as the victim, and it worked perfectly for the RNR Express formula tonight. Bourne pinned Sheamus with the shooting star...Holy crap. This reminded me a lot of the 1-2-3 Kid pinning Razor out of nowhere, just built up longer. As far as one night pushes go to get over a guy as a main eventer, this went about as well as could be expected. Cena put him over huge on the mic, and his opponents did their best to do that in the ring.

What an awesome show this was. Aside from the wacky Ashton-Zack stuff, I loved a lot of this show. Now, they need to follow things up properly for Evan. I don't expect them to have him replace Orton in the PPV main event, but they absolutely need to follow up on this and not just have him go right back down the card.

Cole - Usos. Usos.
Cole - Regal and Kozlov have teamed since the days of the old ECW.
Santino - FOR THE LOVE OF GEORGE LUCAS, PLEASE STOP PLAYING THIS WANNABE DARTH VADER MUSIC.
Santino - Vladimir, why do you team with Regal instead of me?! It would be the irremovable object versus the unstoppable force. Plus, Eve will make love to you.
Eve - NO!
Santino - I meant to say that Eve would love you to make me your tag team partner.
Maryse - BACK OFF! BACK OFF!
(to Santino)Regal - YOU’RE PATHETIC! BLOODY PATHETIC!
King - Who thought they’d not only see Bret back in WWE, but as the GM of Raw?
Bret - HELLO AUSTIN! Long time no see. Anyway, I’ve been the GM for about a week, and man I’ve been having so much fun! You wouldn’t believe how much fun I’m having. In fact, I got together with Teddy Long and we decided we’re gonna do something special next week. We’re gonna have all the superstars from Raw and SmackDown there! ALL UNDER 1 ROOF! This is gonna be a special night. So special in fact that me and Teddy made sure to make it 3 hours! Next week on Raw! The best part about it, Teddy and I were talking, and if you fans have ideas as to what you’d like to hear on Raw, let’s hear him. Same with the Superstars, if you’re listening back there, then bring your ideas out. Next week’s Raw is gonna be one to remember.
Cole - Here comes Ted DiBiase with VIRGIL.
Ted - Bret, well, if you and Teddy truly are accepting suggestions, I have one. GIVE THE SHOW TO ME AND MAKE ME GM FOR THE NIGHT. Not guest host - GM - I WANT COMPLETE CONTROL AND I am willing, and able, to pay you and Teddy whatever it takes.
Bret - Is that right?
Ted - That’s right, and don’t look at me like you’re not too good to be bought - cuz you’re not. My Dad said EVERYBODY’S GOT A PRICE, well Bret, that includes you.
Bret - If you and your dad want to take it up with Teddy, then talk to him.
Ted - No, you’re the one who thinks he’s above things and too good. I know why you came back to WWE - it’s the same reason you accepted this role as GM - you need money, Bret. Don’t let pride get in the way - I can make your problems disappear, just name your price.
Ashton - Bret, before you give that kind of power to Ted DiBiase, I HAVE AN IDEA. What if, instead, next week we do the first-ever Raw viewer’s choice, where the viewers get to pick everything across the board. Give the power to the people.
Bret - I think that’s a good idea - Raw is gonna be a viewer’s choice night!
(Vince comes out, gets a massive pop)Cole - THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE’VE SEEN MR. MCMAHON SINCE HE WAS AMBUSHED AND ASSAULTED BY A HUNDRED MEMBERS OF THE HART FAMILY AT WRESTLEMANIA!
Vince - LET’S HEAR IT FOR VINCE MCMAHON. And Bret Hart. Just messing with ya Bret. Look at you man! God you look 10 years older than you did at ‘Mania. Then again, look at me. Never looked better or felt better. I wasn’t feeling too well at ‘Mania, when you and your family just bashed me with that steel chair over, over, over, and over, and over, and over again. How many times did you hit me with that chair?
Bret - 18.
Vince -THAT WOULD HAVE INJURED A NORMAL MAN! Did you get all that out of you then?
Bret - Most of it.
Crowd - YOU TAPPED OUT!
Vince - Well… I didn’t really. You must’ve gotten that out of your system, because you jumped at being GM. And here you are. Bret Hart - GM of Raw. I’m sure you’ve been asking yourself why would I okay that? Maybe it’s because there’s a plot here!? Maybe I’m setting you up - I’ve been known to be vengeful from time to time. Maybe it’s the old keep your enemies close thing, or maybe I just think you’re the man for the job. It’s an easy decision you’ve been making so far. Going down the line though, you’re gonna have to make some tough ones, and they won’t all be popular. You do have to treat these people here as children - I mean that in the most complimentary way! When you’re mentoring children, they can’t make the right decisions for them, even if they don’t like it. Are you ready for that? What if they start booing you out of the building, you ready for that?
Bret - I’m ready for anything.
Vince - I’m out here to wish you luck. You believe that?
Bret - No.
Vince - Yes you do. You want to believe it. I think it’s a wonderful story that the man banished from this show 13 years ago returned last week and became its GM. I hope that your story as GM has a happy ending. LET’S HEAR IT FOR VINCE MCMAHON AGAIN! LOUDER!
King - Here comes Daniel Bryan - he’s on a one night contract!
Cole - DANIEL BRYAN’S USING A CLOSED FIST - THAT’S ILLEGAL!
Cole - Go back to the minor leagues - YOU LOSER. GO BACK TO THE INDIES AND YOUR INTERNET BUDDIES! HE’S SUCH A NERD, HE DOESN’T EVEN OWN A TV! AND HE’S GOT A HERCULEAN PHYSIQUE! AND HE’S GOT A DANIEL BRYAN MANLINESS METER! HE’S GOT RABBIT EARS - CAN’T HIT, CAN’T HIT - DIDN’T LIKE WHAT I WAS SAYING ABOUT HIM!
AND WHAT’S A VEGAN ANYWAY - HE SAYS HE’S A VEGAN!
King - A lot of people are vegans…
King - DANIEL BRYAN WINS!
Cole - That might be the biggest…
King - Don’t say it…
Cole - THE BIGGEST UPSET IN WWE HISTORY!
King - Miz was thrown into Michael Cole! GET UP - YOU LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT!
King - Are you okay?
Cole - I WAS ASSAULTED! NOTHING SHORT OF IT!
Uso 1 - Who are we? Where we coming from? We got to thinking - the only way for us to make a name for ourselves…(crowd boos them massively) was for us to come out last weekend and put the unified tag champs on their backs. Who was standing tall bro? JAY AND JIMMY USO ALONG WITH OUR GIRL TAMINA!
Uso 2 - Your family ain’t the only deep blood in wrestling - our blood goes from the Wild Samoans, and we ain’t the old Samoans, we fashionable and we getting your scholarships!
Uso 1 - FROM LAW SCHOOLS!
Tamina - THAT’S RIGHT BROTHAS! Hart Dynasty, we absolutely respect where you guys come from, you come from a great line of competitors that the WWE Universe respects. A respect that our family doesn’t have - just like my father Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka! He was put in the corner at the first Wrestle Mania - the main event. And you don’t think he has something to offer? No no no, that’s not gonna happen no more. Know why, WWE UNIVERSE? BECAUSE WE RIGHT HERE WERE BORN AND CREATED FOR ONE PURPOSE!
Usos - DOMINATE!
King - It’s Rikishi’s twin sons and the daughter of Jimmy Snuka!
Cole - Zack Ryder has 23,000 Twitter followers.
King - So what? Ashton has five million!
Zack - ASHTON WANTS TO PUT A HIT OUT ON LONG ISLAND ICED Z!?
Ashton - You wanna know? K. I’ll tell ya.
Cole - IT’S THE PUNJABI PLAYBOY! At least he’s not in a tuxedo this week.
Ashton - It’s not the Great Khali either…(Goldust comes out)
King - Movie star, movie…freak.
Ashton - Not him…
Zack - I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE. I’M SORRY I CALLED YOU OUT ON TWITTER!
Ashton - Just like In my movie, you’re never gonna see it coming!
Alicia - I’m tired of this little joke…(drops the mic, Zack picks it up, she scissor kicks him)
Ashton - ALICIA FOX, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THAT’S WHY YOU DON’T MESS WITH THE FARM HAND OR MY TWITTER FOLLOWERS! WOO WOO WOO! YOU KNOW IT!
Cole - LOL
Sheamus - Alright fella, I saw what ya did to Orton. I liked it. If you take advantage of me, it’ll be the last mistake you ever make. Got it? Good.
Cole - QUINTON RAMPAGE JACKSON on Raw next week!
Cena - I have some unfortunate news. Due to the actions of Edge, Randy has re-injured his shoulder and will not be able to compete tonight! Brilliant plan, Edge, leave me with no time to choose a partner. ONE PROBLEM, EVERY WWE SUPERSTAR HATES YOU GUYS. THAT MEANS I CAN CHOOSE ANYBODY! SO my partner tonight is a human wrecking ball who defies physics and gravity, and Edge, he’s unhappy about what you did to him earlier on Raw. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, MY PARNTER, EVAN BOURNE!

Because he's a good wrestler. Just because they were foolish enough to make a him a glorified jobber for so long doesn't mean they can't finally correct that mistake. Sydal was good well before he signed with WWE. Bourne/Sydal is someone who should have been receiving a good push for a while now. Hopefully the use of Danielson helped someone realize the mistake they'd been making with Bourne,

Kutcher has to be at least one of the worst. What a bastard.

The Uso brothers performed quite well. The two-man Samoan drop is a neat move. :)

I appreciated how Lawler mentioned their relation to Rikishi and Jimmy Snuka. That's one more branch than I thought they would acknowledge. Now, if they/he had delved into the Rock and Yokozuna, that would have been a special moment.

Apparently Michael Cole comes to the ring to JR's music before Raw now :D - that shows a bit of commitment to get the crowd behind Danielson.

anyone know of any good dvd's or youtube videos of Bourne/Sydal, before he was in wwe? would like to see how he was before all this.

im wondering if they wanted to push bourne as a new face in case they have to pull orton out of fatal 4way, but man was it nice to see him on RAW in a main event scene

That's true. Another thing I was thinking was them wanting to impress the UFC fighter/whatever fans he brings next week with someone who has convincing looking moves. (See: Sheamus selling the fuck out of Bourne's leg kicks, Danielson's submissions)
anyone know of any good dvd's or youtube videos of Bourne/Sydal, before he was in wwe? would like to see how he was before all this.
He's had a number of good matches in Ring Of Honor prior to the WWE. Check around YouTube for a few of em.

...Except that it happened literally the match before with Truth and Jericho.

Hahaha
Just letting you know that we revealed details of the Tony Chimmel / CM Punk NHL Stanley Cup bet on "Right After Wrestling" last night.

The bet is that if the Hawks win the Stanley Cup, Tony Chimmel has to announce CM Punk hailing from "The home of the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago IL" and if Philly wins the Stanley Cup then CM Punk has to cut a promo where he says "this city is not nearly as good as Philadelphia."

And take this however you want.
CM Punk is finally with in the good graces of Management after Over the Limit this past Sunday. The reason for this is during the blood spots were paramedics tended to both Punk and Mysterio the crowd started chanting boring, so on a whim CM Punk attacked Mysterio which led to all the stiff barricade spots from Punk. He did this to get the people focused again and back into the match. After the match was over he was met with many thanks and praise from Management for "saving the ppv"

Punk is great. I'm disappointed that he's not likely to get too many (if any) more World Title/main event runs but he's obviously someone who's been around long enough, and is smart enough to do the right thing.

As much as I like them, I can't imagine guys like Miz or Morrison having the situational awareness to "save a ppv" if things went terribly wrong.

That's the problem with "homegrown" talent. They've been trained into submission to do things one way and one way only. When a situation arises that they haven't been coached for, they don't have any previous experience to draw on for a solution.

Very fat. His pro is Cody Rhodes, who should do a great job teaching him how to be fucking boring.
