Pavement is playing Austin but I don't really feel like going since it's less than a week after the Pixies show. I need to go through their discography again and see if that changes anything.
Interpol has like 4 dates in the US and like 34 in Europe. Lame as fuck.
Probably for the best. A shitload of their US tour was opening for U2 before someone got injured and they ended up canceling/postponing it.

I'm considering driving to Vegas or Colorado to see Pavement. They were one of my favorite sets of Coachella. Hopefully the rumor of them playing with Sonic Youth in Vegas are true.

I'm thinking of making this my new controller. I'm not too sure yet on the Chrome though.

Ok, fuck the keyboard and fuck the harmonies and new set list, I'll eat my words and agree that this is fucking awesome and innovative. That controller will probably cost way more than I'd like to pay though.

If the training let's you pick a section of the song and slow it down and shit, that's fucking epic. "Today, I will practice verse 1 of my favorite song at 70% speed".

The only big question is "will they patch the existing library of hundreds of songs to be compatible"? Also, not that it entirely that it matters to most people, but if I'm shelling out like $300+ for a guitar that can double as a game controller, I'd prefer that it work on all systems -- this way, if your friend is like "I got RB3 for the Wii or the other system you don't own it for" you can still bring your REAL guitar over, plug in, and play with them, instead of having to switch back to the fake plastic instrument.

Count me in as looking forward to the new Interpol album and Rock Band 3. Why couldn't they put anything from Our Love to Admire as DLC?

New Front Line Assembly comes out next Tues.

WRT54GL w/ Tomato.

Though the guy who does Tomato seems to have stopped updating firmware... in fact, the beta I have on it is no longer available from his page... :(

I use a D-Link. Works for PSP, DS, Wii, 360 and mac.

I just found out in a meeting that an employee who was laid off a year ago will be coming back for 2 days a week on a volunteer basis.

More proof that it's toooooooooooo tough out there.

St Jude's? Boston Scientific? Medtronic?

That seems too simple. I was reading some reports online that it doesn't clear all the data out...was that pre-G3?

:whee:
I'll probably won't get mine this weekend but if the GS trade-in special is in fact true, I'll be upgrading as well. I'm almost out of space on my 120GB so it will be nice to have extra space, and I'm also having issues with my Ethernet cable that I was about to replace, but Wi-Fi sounds much better and cleaner.

Only problem is transferring the data...I don't know where I kept that damn transfer cable :wall:

I would need a pretty big flash drive, and I don't want to spend money on flash drives if I don't have to, so that won't work. I'm thinking I'll just hang on to my 120GB HD until after I get the unit, and once I transfer everything go into GS and trade the HDD in. Only problem is that I might not get the extra trade in value. Come to think of it, I don't even think they'll accept my HDD since the warranty sticker broke when I switched cases with my Halo HDD.

How the hell do you fill all 120 gigs? Linkin park mp3s and vids? If that's the case you should free up space now.

Like, I have 20 gigs left of my 120, but I could easily free up another 40 if I put my mind to it.

I have about 20GB of free space as well. I have a lot XBLA titles as well as a bunch of DLC that I guess I could delete, and I do have a few gigs of music on it. Surprisingly no videos.

Just called and confirmed at GS, no warranty sticker on the HDD so they won't accept it...damn!

Since you have to redownload everything for DRM license tool anyway, moving anything other than save games and themes/data that were gotten off OXM discs is kind of retarded.

Fyi...

Good news for those looking forward to the last guardian - sony has hinted to us that the game will likely be shown at tokyo game show later this year.

When asked about the lack of an announcement during an interview minutes ago, sony's ron eagle noted that there are "more events on the calendar than just e3" this year. "read into that what you will."

The last guardian is the next game from the sony computer entertainment development team headed by Fumito Ueda that was responsible for Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Its lack of appearance at Sony's press conference was one of the biggest complaints among 1up's staff and readers.
For the sake of clarification, the full transcript of the last guardian-specific section of our upcoming interview with two of sony's product guys is below.

Frank Cifaldi: I've got to ask - where the hell is The Last Guardian?

Scott Rohde: the best way i can answer that is something that sony does -- and we're very proud of this -- is that we're going to ship a game when we feel it's ready. When it's fully baked and when it's ready. And with everything else that we're showing at this show, we announced a million different things at this show, we just didn't feel that the timing was right to show that product at this show. We're going to show it when it's ready, and when we think that it's worthy to show based on everything else that that developer has done.

fc: When you say 'when the timing is right,' is that in terms of the other announcements around it, or in terms of the game's development?

sr: it's a little of both, but basically we want to make a big splash when we announce that title, and we didn't feel that the timing was right to do it.

fc: So that's going to be a big initiative? Is the game going to be a major focus of your marketing initiatives, is it a key title?

sr: absolutely. That's ron's [eagle, also in the room] department here. I think that we're always going to make a big splash when we announce a big blu-ray title, and certainly there's been a ton of anticipation about that. We've announced it before, we've shown it before, we want to do it right.

Ron Eagle: and there's more dates on the calendar than just e3. More events. Read into that what you will. There's nothing official that we can tell you other than the last guardian continues in production and we can't wait to show you what ueda-san has been up to. The game looks fantastic.

fc: So development's going smoothly then? No problems, nothing our readers should worry about?

re: it's strategic. Let's put it that way.
I thought the transfer kit brings over the license as well?
I doubt it.

Transfer kits were designed for upgrading HDDs. Run out of space on that 20gb? Good, go buy the 120gb for $160 and move your data. It's the same 360 and same gamertag, so yes, that works well.

But anyone getting a new model Xbox 360 will have a new serial number, so it's pointless. Copy it all over as much as you like, but (a) unless anything's changed, the installed games will need to be deleted and reinstalled and (b) all of your XBLA content will require sign-in to use, since the you're no longer playing on the "purchase" console.

Edit: Using the DRM tool I mentioned will fix the XBLA offline issue, but you'll still need to reinstall all your games.
