LOUSY day. Went to Wolff's Flea Market in Palatine IL. They have another one in Roselle which is supposed to be much better but was closed today. I hope they're better because this place was crap.
Saw games at exactly five booths:
One had two N64 games. 1080 and WCW Mayhem for $2 each. Meh.
Another had a TON, everything you could imagine, 3DO games, Turbografx games, SNES games, everything. But insanely terribly organized and all over the floor. Plus, prices were HIGHER than eBay. No good deals to be had.
Another had a bunch of NES games and the one good deal I saw! An N64 with expansion pack, 2 controllers and 4 games (all sports but who cares) for $10! I grabbed and went to pay and he says it isn't his but his neighbors and he can't sell it today because they aren't there. I remark that its with his stuff and clearly priced, I'm not trying to haggle. He says no, he needs to make sure with his neighbor... I asked how much for the (common) NES games. 5 each.
Then I found a guy with a few crappy PS1 games for 5 each. Pass.
Now my stupid mistake which makes it worse. There's one other retailer gith absurd prices. N64 sports games for $20 each. Insane. But she has some $5 PS1 games. I grabbed three, one of which was marked 10 and I offer 10 for the three. She counters with 15 and I counter with 12, she wouldn't meet me and so I passed. The games were Metal Gear Solid (marked 10), Croc 2 and the one I'm kicking myself over, Silent Hill black label complete! That one marked 5. I should have at least done $5 on Silent Hill, I could have easily gotten 20 or 25 for that... I can't believe I passed. I completely forgot what it goes for. My bad and it makes my crappy day all the worse.
I know exactly who you're talking about!
The guy who runs it can be a jerk, his prices are outrageous,
and he charges sales tax on everything!
I actually live right up the road from the Palatine market and was out there selling last weekend.

I've gotten a handful of decent games there over the last 2 years but it's really a crap-shoot in the warmer months, as most vendors opt to sell at the outdoor market in Rosemont.
Speaking of Rosemont, I had plans to head out there this morning with my Dad but ironically enough today was the one day it wasn't open due to a stadium event.
