The gameplay in GGT #93 is awesome, but the story kinda sucks.

Sure it could happen. They just need to have a sub-1 frame video scaler, which is technologically possible, if the manufacturers would give a damn.

and Resident Evil 4....which is the only counterexample i can think of.
Another counterexample would be Splinter Cell: Double Agent, which is the worst port Ubi's ever done to PC. It was never a good game, but it was like... shitty beyond belief on PC.

Damn French.

Honestly, I don't think Crysis looks all that great ,even with the doodads turned on. Something like MGS4 looks a lot more polished overall, and I think even the PC version of DMC4 looks better.

can someone tell me how Valkyrie C just came out of nowhere of being good to awesome?

take note JRPG makers.

also, I think I'm going to ditch my copy of MGS4 finally. it's either going to ebay, GS, or Blockbuster...

Did Sega change things up for the US/UK release? I seem to recall Jap players saying the game wasn't so hot when it came out in the Spring or whatever. And it'd be nice if VC is good, because that would mean I'll be getting a total of 2 PS3 games this year instead of 1 (the first one, of course, being MGS.)
at least digital downloads this year for PS3 beat the shit out of the stuff that 360 has had come out digitally.
I dunno, Castle Crashers and Braid are pretty hard to beat.

I dunno about that either. PSN got Wipeout. 360 got Rez HD, Ikaruga, Samurai Shodown II, and Castle Crashers (which I still haven't played because I'm still on the fence)... which seems like a pretty clear victory for the 360.

But I really want Wipeout, honestly. If my PS3 were at school, I'd totally buy it like now.

Maybe I should take care of that.
This months EGM makes me want RE5 so bad. I can't believe its not a fall release.
Seriously. I'm just glad that Capcom's got 3 fucking awesome games coming out in February and March (SF IV, Bionic Commando, RE5.) They've either been absent for nearly this entire gen, or making crap (with the exception of DMC4), and it's sad to see my favorite dev. reduced to that... so finally, they're making a comeback.

Wow, Lions got screwed. Oh well. They are still a shitty team. But so is every team in the division.

Next week, you will all hear my wallet cry. 4 weeks straight of awesome.

I'm most excited for Far Cry 2, I think. This one really feels like it's gonna turn out.

Hoping Castlevania will be balls-to-the-wall crazy xtreme awesome, but I'm less willing to believe after PoR. Day 1 purchase, tho.

Well, there is no lame 2 character gimmick in OoE so thats a plus. I'm so hyped for it. DoS is my favourite handheld game.
God, Dawn of Sorrow was soooo good. That's what has me afraid of the disappointment.
Only Castlevania game I ever beat and with both characters too. That's just how good it was.

only castlevenia game I ever finished and liked was symphonia... I got my fill. I've played enough Metroid and Venia games that it will be a while before I get back into them.

Symphonia :)

Curses, thanks to the MGS games and SHH I am suddenly becoming sexually attracted to story in games. What's worse is I enjoyed the Eternal Sonata's gameplay. I think I have a massive brain tumor, it's the only explanation.

I'm bringing my PS2 to skoo wit me for now. I'll probably finish the Witcher on monday or tuesday, and I want to play through Onimusha 2 again. So I'm doing that. Those games were so obscenely good despite the RE-style controls and camera... I dunno why Capcom doesn't have a cool new franchise like that this gen...

Onimusha 2 is wicked good. I've beaten that game at least 25 times. I did every single story path in it.

As much as I liked Oni 2, I liked Dawn of Dreams even better. Was my GOTY when it came out. I really want Capcom to make another game in that series.

You know, I still haven't played through Dawn of Dreams. I played part of it, though not enough.

I liked Onimusha 3 quite a bit, as well. I remember being not that interested when it came out, but when I finally played it, I was like "holy shit, this is great."

And ReRo, I agree that Lost Planet can only get better...

Naw, but Bionic Commando really does seem like exactly what I wanted from LP.
Oh my god. fuck you kendal, for telling me to play Rhapsody. I played 5 minutes and grew a fucking vagina.

It's going to be goozexed. I'll either get The Witcher or TWEWY in its place.

Does anyone want it before it goes to the gooz?
Told ya so.

30 hours into Dragon Quest 4 and it's still good! Wow!

We're playing catch the motherfucking mouse that got in our kitchen. fuck that little bastard. He's gonna get his neck snapped tonight!

I liked Onimusha 3, but not as much as 2 and nowhere near as much as Dawn of Dreams. Btw, go play DoD now! Seriously, it's fucking amazing. Not to mention it has one of the best soundtracks out there.

Hey everybody! Let's ignore the guy with the tumor! It's not like anything bad can happen to him!

On a serious note, do you guys ever have a list of clearance games you want in the GGT just incase any one of us every finds anything the other wants? I know we have a thread for that somewhere but I don't like dealing with random douche bags who can't even date rape a man properly.

I do remember the soundtrack being great from what I played, and I also remember digging the storytelling in that game - felt sorta like each chapter or whatever was an episode of an anime. I'll get around to it... hopefully soon.

It's been 6 years since I've played Onimusha 2, so I guess I can't really remember how that ranks among the series for me anymore.

Good point. Same felt here.

as for Lost Planet, it's exponentially better if you look at it like a 3D metal slug more than a third person shooter.

Best track in the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8jS_OcO32A

Fukusawa outdid himself with the music in this game.
Told ya so.
Did you not like Rhapsody? I put 14 hours into it and enjoyed every minute. It is a light hearted romp, a fun story and a wonderful musical score.

Ima throw Kung Fu Panda in that Sexbox tonight or tomorrow. It looks terrible, but fun in a I can't believe this game is so bad but fun. Like Small Arms....but fun.

If you don't like Rhapsody then you have a cold, dead heart.

Warriors Orochi 2 is so good. Might even beat SW2 as my favorite Koei game!

I love how I posted on the NeoGAF that LBP is kinda meh to me and feels very shallow and all the user created levels are very samey.

Watch out for the Sony Evangelists.. fuck. That place has been fucking overrun with people claiming LBP to be the best thing ever. I wonder if it's a mandate if you work at SCEA to have to post good things about LBP on the GAF?

No, I didn't like the strawberry shortcake goodie gumdrops pantylined pink frilly sing-songy gayness of Rhapsody. That game was for babiz or little girls. If you played it sans-vagina, You probably wish you had one.

I'm mostly kidding, but you should really be ashamed if you're an adult male and enjoyed that game. lol.
Watch out for the Sony Evangelists..
Yah. GAF gaming is worthless. Great for lurking and keeping up on gaming news but as far as reasonable discussion goes it's a joke

GAF OT is a damn good time though. It's like the perfect mix of all the nerd types and there is some actual wit to top it off. Some. Good show.

It's like if you don't suck on Sony's dick and have a badass PC rig you play your games on, you're some fucking peasant around there. fuck that elitist shit.
hello GGT....
So basically this is like the OTT without the assholes?
No, it's the OTT without the fun. Oh, and it's full of wannabes.
