you made an assumption on that.
you should talk to the people who smoke and do drugs. they say they're in control but are they really?! hmmm??

Those things have physical addictions rather than just psychological....
I get the point you're making, but mine was just that people shouldn't be so weak as to get so addicted to something like games.
"I Hate Gamestop" gamers. Half of them judge the company based on one store; the other half do it to be cool.
It's an extremely successful business, so obviously they're doing more things right than wrong.
Meh. I don't bash them to be cool, or judge them based on one store. I've had several bad experiences, and lot of it just comes from the fact that most "hardcore" (for lack of a better term) gamers just rub the wrong way, as do little kids running around unattended. The store is pretty much staffed and shopped by those two crowds so it just annoys the hell out of me every time I go in there.
Add in shit like selling opened games as new, paying shit on trade ins, overpriced used games, hawking preorders, etc. etc. and it's just a miserable place.
Yes, they're making money so they're doing something right, but that doesn't mean it's a pleasant place to shop for everyone.
