How many copies of a game can I trade in?
​You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.
 
What do I need to trade in an older console?
The console, power cable, av cable, and controller. Sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3DS XL trade would be console, charger, and stylus. Some have reported being charged a refurb fee for missing the stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)

Does the Pro Membership B2G1 coupon apply to only games, or accessories as well?
The coupon applies to both games and accessories, per the wording on the coupon.
 
I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).
 
 
TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free. Typically refers to the coupon you receive when becoming Pro.
GCU/BB: Gamer’s Club Unlocked, Best Buy
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Do your bosses know you're on here blatantly shilling for them? Aside from how sad it is, you obviously love your job so you might want to spend more time worrying about keeping it rather than risking it white knighting on a forum full of people who don't care.

 
On topic, trade credit is fine in Florida. I've not heard anything about it going away, and I cleaned up on the Prestige sale.

No, some employees are just bad and have bad attitudes. I had to contact my dm to have the issue resolved.

I'm unsure how using a VPN is used for abuse and fraud but I have always used a VPN in general for privacy concerns and to dl porn torrents discreetly.

The same thing happened to me. The manager tried adding a $3 refurb fee for all my games even though I had literally just bought them. After going a round with him, he finally made a comment saying I stole them. I told him I have my receipt and he accused me of creating fake receipts (like wtf who even does that). Long story sort, he cussed me out, put his finger in my face and banned me from “his gamestop”. Ive never been treated so bad by anyone in my entire life.

I thought them being out of games after release was just a thing where I live lol. I've been waiting on a few games to be in stock for a couple months and still nothing new or used for me

refurbishing fees are only added if the disc is scratched. what happened is your disc had scratches or cracks and then they send them to the refurbishing center in grapevine, tx to make them look brand new again. you can't please everyone sometimes. they could do the customer unfriendly thing by not accepting them at all but instead they charge a small fee and then make them look new again. seems like a good system to me. as for the rest of the story pm me your store and manager that did that. if you have a receipt it will help the process even more.

the great thing about gs is that if you stores are sold out of a game you can buy it online even with store credit! so if you trade in some games you can then immediately order it with your gs credit!

They have been in STL since Monday. Just sold my Diablo Switch for $400 last night on Amazon now have to wait 2 weeks for the money to clear to buy my V2.

May be worth placing a call to customer service. I didn't get points for trades in late April/early May, called, and have once again been getting points. My Elite runs out soon though so we'll see what happens once I have to go back to regular Pro.

Don't worry. It's probably your fault or it's a feature of GameStop to get you to call customer service to get the best coverage of your needs. While we're discussing this, can you please give me your phone number so I can see if you have any coupons? Also tell us what item you ordered and your PUR number so gsdave can help you out and look into it for you.

GS is starting to do probably what they should have done long ago and limit the amount of games a store is sent to what they think will honestly sell there. The store I shop at still has new copies of Madden 18 they said they got for the 2017 Black Friday sale that never sold. Plus I'm told all of the stores locally are sitting on tons of unsold sealed copies of Fallout 76 and KH 3.

But then you have the Nintendo crowd that never preorders and then complains when the first/second party Nintendo title is sold out on opening weekend.

It's also new accounts, and potentially renewed accounts. I renewed an account (but he gave me a new card so I'm not sure if that was the reason) and have not been getting points for trades, but was still getting points for trades on my Elite account in the same stores.

had something a little like that happen with a couple of redbox games, without getting loud or nasty, shut the guy down real quick. we gotta take back control as consumers-some gs employees are good, decent people but the deceptive, arrogant, condescending ones need to be handled, if/when a situation like yours should occur, I'll get right on the phone from inside the store, gs Customer service 800-883-8895, press 1 at first menu to get to a live person, and then blast the guy on the online survey you can do anonymously so you dont have to worry about your account being messed with:

I was going to report him but I wasn't really sure if he was breaking any rules just because he works at gamestop. didn't seem like a good idea to have such a corporate suck-up here reading our plans to milk GS for every dollar though, lol.

I actually gave the employee a few choice words on my way out after he didn't want to see my receipt and he said something along the lines of "there's children in here" to try and make me look like the bad guy lol.

I did burn him on the survey (from a past purchase) and I haven't seen him up there since. Don't know if the survey got him fired or what. I've never had an experience like that at any other store.

I pre-ordered the Guacamelee 1+2 for Switch and went to pick it up today. It was open!? I didn't really realize it until I got home.  Why on earth would it be open? I'm going to call tomorrow and find out what the deal is.  Granted, I was going to open it at soon as I got home anyways but still, it doesnt sit right with me.
