How many copies of a game can I trade in?
​You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.
 
What do I need to trade in an older console?
The console, power cable, av cable, and controller. Sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3DS XL trade would be console, charger, and stylus. Some have reported being charged a refurb fee for missing the stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)

Does the Pro Membership B2G1 coupon apply to only games, or accessories as well?
The coupon applies to both games and accessories, per the wording on the coupon.
 
I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).
 
 
TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free. Typically refers to the coupon you receive when becoming Pro.
GCU/BB: Gamer’s Club Unlocked, Best Buy
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

They definitely can refund points for unusable certs, it just takes a rep that knows what they are doing and follows through.

 
My Assassin’s Creed gamecoin disappeared today, glad I took a screen shot that showed the expiration date as 12/7...guess I gotta call later and try to get the points...
 
Never read the fine print, but the $30 game coin was for combined purchases of over $300? Wasn’t expecting anything but got the email yesterday evening. Nice surprise, be sure to check your email or active offers. 

 
Are GameStop's emails getting worse or is it me? I'm getting at least 5 emails a day "Still interested in this product you viewed?" Most times it's stuff I've never viewed or been interested in.

Ok, could be true, but the reps responses for the same question are so varied, I think in many cases they are just making up anything to end the call. I guess if you don’t hear back within a week, I would probably call back. How I finally got mine, the rep said they were submitting an escalated request, I said I’ve already had a few of those and never hear back. They said they will check with their support specialists, put me on hold a few times, about 20-30 minutes later I finally got them back while still on the line. You have to make it clear you have tried everything to use the certs, that it’s not an in store cert, or any other way it could be your misunderstanding, they will probably come back with that question 3-4 times. I had all the cert numbers written down.

 
Does Gamestop still sell Amazon gift cards? I know that certs, store credit and gift cards don't work. I need to give it as a gift to someone and could earn PUR points in the process. TIA

The ones near me in CT now only sell $25 and $50 set value cards last time I checked a couple months ago and no variable denomination ones. At least one of my locals will not sell more than $200 of gift cards in a single transaction/day.

Just bit on yoshi when I noticed almost every copy in my city was gone. Also got resident evil 3, trials of Mana and Dragonball z kakarot at best buy. Pretty happy with my purchases

You gotta use it right when you see it or it will vanish. I had to call support and they gave me 30k points to replace it. I didn't apply it to anything. It was just in my active offers for like 3 days.

And I've been eyeing that pop display case for a while and nice to see it a daily deal! The reviews say the lights are crap but I just need something for my Zelda amiibas.

Edit: Oh boo. Looks like rewards certs don't work on it. that's dumb.

Is that the issue with the $30 game coins? I've now got two of them in my active offers but I can't get them to apply to my cart. I assumed I just had items in my cart that weren't eligible, but if the codes aren't working that would make more sense.

 
What can I use the gamecoins on, got them today, wanted to buy The last of us 2, but to no avail it just wouldn't work .. or is it in store only?

 
First part of order arrived today. All Switch titles. Mario Tennis, Fire Emblem, arrived new and sealed in wrap. Used Marvel Alliance and Xenoblade 2 arrived with case and artwork in great condition. My Yoshi Crafted World was supposed to be new, but is pre-owned. Not GameStop "new" but an actual stickered pre-owned copy. Complete with European pegi art. And FedEx left the bubble mailers on the front stoop in the rain (and not inside the garage door like the fine folk at the USPS), thankfully nothing soaked through. GameStop online orders are always a fun ride.

Today I went to another GS. I already got a list of four 14.99 ps4 games and just want to check out. But one employee doesn't know the deal at all. After some discussion, I successfully got 2 DMC5, little dragon cafe and lego dc villain for 30 dollars. All pre-owned but only one case is scratched. I will take that. Also, the cert is not working with the deal. I gave the wrong answer yesterday. :bomb:

 
My four "new" games arrived today. I read earlier posts about the circular clear stickers but I prayed it wouldn't happen to me. Lo and behold, my copies of Concrete Genie (PS4 -- with clearance stickers all over it) and Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age (Switch) arrived with the stickers and really weathered cases. No ty. Guess I'll be making some returns later. At least FE3H (Switch) and Collection of Mana (Switch) were shrink wrapped. This is what I get for being greedy for Gamestop's 10% back offer through Chase Freedom.

 
Has anyone tried the four 14.99 for $30 with 360/PS3 games? I have a $14.99 360 game on my wishlist, and one of the local stores finally has it in stock with case & artwork. If the four for $30 doesn't apply I guess the B2G2 is more or less permanent at this point and a workable option.

I had it worked on 4 ps4 games in store. But u can wait for the b2g2 because it is still 30 u know.

 
Do the Early BF deals carry over once the regular BF deals drop around 9pm EST this evening? For example, will the prices for FFX/X-2 (S), Trials of Mana (S), Star Wars Squadrons (X1) stay the same to take advantage of the B2G1 Pre-owned?

Was noticing this as well. All the items just show as not in stock soon as you search and if you try to check out you get errors - I had a copy of fire emblem: three houses in my cart from yesterday and it now errors out and says there is no stock at any store anywhere. Poor way to do this (I mean I get limiting it to online only but say so - doing it this way seems like the site is broken and like there isn't any stock of these games. Either way, they took away the only reason I might have gone into GS this week which is for the best.

I'm wanting to know this as well. I've tried it on 2 online orders now (one for used games one for new hardware) and haven't gotten it to work but haven't tried in store.

Works without any issues in store when you buy any game that is over $30. Don't think it works online no matter what you try it on.

Some people mentioned it wont work on anything that's $29.99 or less. Used mine on Crystar for the PS4 which was $36.97 before the coupon made is $6.97

Does anyone know if the buy 2 new, get 50% off used promo is active in stores? It's still on the site, and I remember seeing someone mention it a few days ago, but I don't recall if they used in store or not.

I called my store and she said it wasn't in her promo list and seemingly couldn't get it to activate when testing, but I just never know what to believe anymore. I plan to swing by and try after work but would love to have some evidence before going in. Thanks!

Edit: she called me back and said it didn't work because the new game is one that's already on sale

Yeah, normally, I would've. I was trying to use rewards points and game coin on this since I'm out of trade credit, and we all know those don't work on the site. The other caveat is that the site shows the store out of stock of one of the games, but they confirmed they have a copy.

I appreciate the response though.

 
A good friend of mine was allowed to preorder two PS5 consoles from a local GameStop the day preorders were opened. Right before launch, the store called him to say that they would only allow him to pick up one on launch day, but a “second phase” would take place the following week, so he could get the other console then.

The week after launch, the store told my friend that the second phase was consolidated into launch day, and they no longer had his second console. The store’s solution was to hold a Black Friday console for him, guaranteeing him one this Friday.

My friend touched base with the store this afternoon, and now they’re telling him that it’s first come, first serve.

This whole time my friend has had an active preorder in the GameStop system, and they have not refunded his initial deposit. I told him to burn the store on a survey, but I think he’ll be out of luck on a PS5 for awhile...
 
BF sales are live. I got NSMBD and FE. My PUR $5 monthly coupon also worked.

Doorbuster Switch games are even cheaper pre-owned AND they work with the B2G1 pre-owned deal!

I just got NSMBU Deluxe, Mario Tennis Aces, and Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (not a doorbuster but still cheap) for $52.98!

 
I don't know what's going on. I just picked up Super Mario 2 Deluxe that was listed for 26.99, but with some random 5 dollar off coupon (I already used my 5 dollar November pro certificate) knocked it down to 21.99...then I went to pick up WWE Battlegrounds, which said it was 14.99....but then I was charged 19.99 for it...paid through Paypal, and now the order isn't showing up in my history.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. What a mess.

Yeah I've been seeing prices and in-store availability fluctuate.

Great. Got the confirmation email and the email included the name of the 5 dollar coupon, which WAS my November cert.

Except...I already used it in store a week ago.

Great. Now they'll probably cancel my order and accuse me of trying to scam them or something.

Picked up Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Yoshi's Crafted World and New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe for $54.09 used. On my second order I picked up Sakura Wars, The Last of Part II and Yakuza Remastered Collection for $60.60 used. I want Ghost of Tsushima tho I don't know what to pair it with for b2g1.
