I agree with the article 100% ...
What exactly has Halo done for shooters? Absolutely nothing. It's a basic, but fun console shooter. Nothing to get so hyped up about, and far from one of the best games ever.
How a game like Halo can get so much hype and a much much better game such as TimeSplitters 2 (3 looks promising) can get so little hype is beyond me.
Some people would say that TS2 is a very basic shooter, and its not as good as Halo. While I agree with you that Timesplitters is a a great game, I think that its single player is much worse then Halo and Halo 2's, but I feel that the Halo and Timesplitters multiplayer are about equal. Im also looking forward to TS:FP and Im sure it will be a great game.

he says it could possible be overshadowed by Half Life 2. Half Life 2 is Godzilla compared to halo 2 which is a midget.

I like the reference, but I dont think that Half Life 2 has as much hype, or as many fanboys as Halo does.
Also, in the review it says: Although multiplayer is addictively fun, the absence of a co-op multiplayer is painful
What does that mean? Are they talking about Campaign Live Co-Op, because there are lots of team modes you can play.
Give it time. Half-Life 2 has one HUGE advantage over Halo 2: expansion. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think there's any way for gamers to modify Halo 2 maps and share those. Half-Life 2, on the other hand, will probably become the new darling of the mod community soon. It won't be long before there will be new versions of Counter-Strike and the other mods that are still popular; there's going to be new ideas too, and possibly some brilliant ones.
Score another point for Half-Life 2.
True, but you have to own the game to play the extra maps and mods. Unless a major mod thats as popular as CS was when it first came out, I just dont think that as many people will buy HL2. Of course, I could be dead wrong, Im sure we will find out in a few days when we hear early sales numbers for HL2.
