Thanks God that was captured on film.

Guys the ROH 'Driven' PPV is going up tomorrow. I highly suggest ordering it and supporting the company. Notes and reviews from PWInsider regarding the show.

At this point, they are ridiculously beyond the $10 price tag of this PPV in terms of quality...

ROH went into an awesome video feature on the recent Ring of Honor shows in Toko and Osaka, Japan with comments from ROH performers interspersed with the clips. An awesome feature that made the company look top notch and global. It's pretty interesting to follow the ROH storylines from both the usual show to show run and also how you can just watch them PPV to PPV without further knowledge, but still not be lost by the show.

From top to bottom, there is not one bad match on the entire PPV. Danielson vs. Nigel is as good as pro wrestling gets in today's generation. If you have given up on old school wrestling, believing that genre is dead forever, you might want to give this PPV an order. All you have to lose is $10 but I honestly believe you'll get ten times that amount in athletic wrestling action. Complete thumbs up. Order this show as soon as you can.

From ROH:

ROH "Driven" will debut on pay-per-view this Friday, September 21st, on The DISH Network and TVN cable systems. Check your local listings for channel and price. You will not get this much great, athletic wrestling for such an affordable price from any other form of combat on PPV. "Driven" will debut on iN DEMAND on September 28th.

This is one stacked lineup. The event is headlined by a bout that those witnessed live are raving about as Bryan Danielson battles Nigel McGuinness to be #1 contender for the ROH World Title. Catch a preview of this contest here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpGpK_O4k3c

The card features pro wrestling as a true sport from top to bottom. If you liked "Respect Is Earned" you will love "Driven" with all the skilled ROH athletes. Check out this "Driven" lineup:

-No Remorse Corps of Roderick Strong, Davey Richards & Rocky Romero vs. Delirious, Erick Stevens & Matt Cross in a wild Tag Team Scramble!
-Claudio Castagnoli vs. Matt Sydal in a state-of-the-art bout!
-BJ Whitmer vs. Naomichi Marufuji in a true battle!
-Brent Albright vs. Pelle Primeau in a brutal fight!
-Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Kevin Steen & El Generico for the ROH World Tag Team Titles!
-Takeshi Morishima vs. Jimmy Rave for the ROH World Title!
-Nigel McGuinness vs. Bryan Danielson in a match you need to witness for yourself!
-Plus more with Chris Hero, Larry Sweeney, Adam Pearce and others!!!

For an almost 10 minute preview of this huge PPV with exclusive promos check out:

Don't miss out. Watch the PPV everyone will be talking about when ROH "Driven" debuts this Friday on TVN cable systems and The DISH Network.

I can't wait to see ROH's PPV - it should be worlds better than tonight's Impact which was bad, corny, and worst of all, boring. Thank God there's 100% more of it coming soon!...

With the way Impact has been lately, plus the reportedly sub-par ROH show in Detroit, one has to wonder about the overall state of wrestling in general.
With the way Impact has been lately, plus the reportedly sub-par ROH show in Detroit, one has to wonder about the overall state of wrestling in general.
Detroit was sub-par because it was a filler show. All the good matches were held back for Chicago the next night because of the PPV, which everyone was raving about.

The same thing happens to Long Island matches and the Long Island fans always bitch about it too. They always get filler shows because the next night the show will be in NYC and the really good matches get saved for that.

Not to be a douche, but I hope everyone buys the ROH Driven show instead of just downloading it. I'll be putting up other shows from ROH like I said before, but when an opportunity comes where guys kill themselves for your $10 and its easily watchable in your bedrooms and televisions, I think it should be appreciated and supported. Legend this is just a general comment. It's not aimed at you.

... you're just now wondering this?

TV wrestling is miserable.

ROH has one lackluster show and you're ready to call it a day?

There's still good wrestling out there, but the writing of current TV wrestling, the emphasis on super-huge and super-roided guys, and the sheer lack of importance (and shittiness) of matches has helped kill wrestling.

And Rikishi's "Bootylicious" sash, along with Mike Tenay claiming he took the name "Junior Fatu" as an homage to his heritage.

ROH Driven Review from PW Torch. Again guys, let's support the company. Cheap as we may be, $10 is low enough that we can get behind wrestling of this quality .

Recommendation: (10.0) I’ll have more thoughts on this show in the coming week. You must buy this PPV and watch it. If you’ve never given ROH a shot, they deserve your money for this show. It is the best PPV I’ve seen since “One Night Stand” in 2005. This was simply an amazing show from top to bottom. The McGuinness-Danielson matches is one of those matches I’ll go back and watch from time to time as the years go by, as it will never get old watching the masterpiece they put on in front of a rabid crowd in Philadelphia where ROH was born.

Regarding the McGuinness-Danielson match:

STAR RATING: (*****) – This was the best pro wrestling match I have seen since Samoa Joe vs. Kenta Kobashi, which took place in 2005. The atmosphere for this match was among the best I’ve ever seen for a pro wrestling match airing on PPV. The enthusiasm from the crowd was incredible and both McGuinness and Danielson went to a level they had never gone to before. The entire match felt like a fight from start to finish. At one point, the crowd chanted “this is wrestling.” I agree. This match is the standard for pro wrestling in 2007.
Come on guys. Buy the PPV.

Yo Zen the ROH ppv you put up before has been good so far. You were right, Rave barfed pretty bad during the match, lol.

Colt Cabana (sp?) reminds me of Flair. Is he still hooked up with ROH?

Cabana's currently in OVW, awaiting his call up to the WWE.

I was there live when he hurled hah.

He signed with the WWE and is in the OVW development territory.

I bet $1,000 WWE "creative" changes Colt Cabana's name, because of Carlito's Cabana.

That or they have a fued over the Cabana name.

Funny thing about ROH. If you go and look at www.indemand.com you'll see ROH on the front page right next to UFC and Boxing.

Wow WWE huh. Hopefully they use him right. He is fun to watch.
Damned DirecTV = no ROH for me.
I've heard of quite a few people with this complaint. I'm not sure what the deal with them and ROH is. I know the guy ROH is working with who helped them secure the PPV deal had prior dealings with InDemand and Dish TV.

For $10 that is a mega steal. I can't see anyone not throwing down 10 for the quality of the ROH matches.

Randomly while looking through SNME results, it appears that Muta wrestled a grand total of ONE match on WWF television. He appeared as "Super Ninja" and was managed by Mr. Fuji, losing in a squash to (who else), The Ultimate Warrior.

People should hold ROH parties to open the product up to more people. Hell split the show 4 ways and it's $2.50 per person.

On a side note, I'm genuinely excited for Dragon/Nigel. :applause:\\:D/:bouncy: :applause:

Shit when you look at it that way, you can get the ppv and some pizza for less than ten bucks.

I'm excited for that match too. I can't wait until ROH comes back around my neck of the woods.

That's some high quality stuff. I still haven't gotten mine developed, but they will look like ass compared to those. Great shots!

Just watched TNA. Man Judas Mesias is freaky. And am I the only one who thinks PACMAN Jones doesn't quite fit in the wrestling scene? His acting sucks bad.

G-FUNK ANNOUNCES PREMIERE OF RING OF HONOR'S "DRIVEN"

Internationally Acclaimed Federation Boasts Match-Of-The Year Candidate On Second Televised Pay-Per-View Event, Sept. 21 & 28 Via Dish Network, iN DEMAND & TVN

Weston, CT—Ken Gelman of G-Funk Sports & Entertainment is proud to announce the Pay-Per-View and Video On Demand broadcast of "Driven," from the internationally acclaimed Ring Of Honor (ROH). Since the success of its debut TV event, "Respect Is Earned," taped May 12 in the Grand Ballroom of New York City's Manhattan Center, which played throughout the summer on EchoStar's DISH Network and on all iN DEMAND and TVN cable systems. ROH has been inundated with rave reviews from around the world for its brand of high-flying, hard-hitting intense competition that many are branding "Combat Art."

"Driven" will debut Sept. 21 on the Dish Network, TVN cable systems and Bell ExpressVu in Canada. September 28 is the launch on iN DEMAND and Canada's Viewer's Choice cable systems.

Taped in Chicago Ridge, Illinois and Philadelphia, PA, "Driven" succeeds in large part due to the inclusion of what many in the industry have already hailed as a contender for "Match Of The Year." Great Britain's Nigel McGuinness squares off against Bryan "The American Dragon" Danielson in an explosive exhibition of power and speed, with the match culminating in a spectacular climax that visibly shocks the sold-out crowd.

"I was there that night," says ROH owner Cary Silkin, "and I can honestly say that in all my years of watching wrestling, I have never, ever, seen a finish like that. Fans across the country are going to realize, when they watch `Driven,' that this particular brand of in-ring combat has no peer anywhere in the world."

Adds Gelman, "`Driven' is further proof that ROH is here to stay. Fans around the world are taking note of our brand of sport. We've capitalized upon the promise of `Respect Is Earned,' and now, with `Driven,' we've taken the art of combat to a whole new level."

"Driven" is part of a multi-show package available to approximately 60 million North American households via EchoStar Communications Corporation's DISH NetworkTM, iN DEMAND Networks and TVN in the U.S. as well as via Viewer's Choice, Bell ExpressVu and SaskTel in Canada. This series, which airs throughout 2007 and 2008 with a new show approximately every 60 days, marks the first time the critically acclaimed ROH brand is available on television.

Silkin and Gelman also announced the launch of a new affiliate website: www.ROHWrestlingAffiliates.com, which contains easy-to-implement marketing materials and all event information. Each show will also be supported by a range of targeted national consumer advertising and promotion which will be handled by G-Funk Sports and Entertainment.

ABOUT RING OF HONOR

A new entry into the American television audience, but long revered by a loyal underground fan base, the Philadelphia-based ROH—currently seen on Canadian, British and Japanese TV—appeals to the disenfranchised wrestling fan fed up with storylines which seem to take precedence over the kind of powerful ring competition that ROH specializes in. ROH, in fact, is seen to have the highest level of athleticism in its field today, which recently culminated in a sweep of the 2006 Wrestling Observer awards for "Most Outstanding Wrestler," "Best Brawler," "Best Major Wrestling Show" (ROH took four of its Top 10) and "Best Booker."

ABOUT G-FUNK

G-Funk Sports & Entertainment is a full-service agency dedicated to brand activation, strategic integration and driving maximum return on investment for its clients, headed up by Award-winning NHL and WWE marketing and television veteran Ken Gelman. G-Funk's strengths center on three primary areas, Marketing Services (consumer promotion, affiliate activation and events), Partnership Alliances and Content Management (including distribution drives and launch strategies). Clients include NFL Digital Media, Rainbow Media, the Arena Football League and Ring Of Honor. The agency is supported by an experienced team of talent from fellow Fairfield County, CT marketing/advertising agency, The Voice.

That fat Japanese woman in that picture sure is hot.

*not an insult, just a long running joke among me and my friends. Morishima kind of looks like a woman in some pictures.

.
According to a media source out of Mexico, Judas Mesias (who recently debuted in TNA and worked a match taped for tonight’s iMPACT!) is suffering from sciatica and will be out several weeks to rest and will also need physical therapy.

It is unknown how this will affect TNA’s plans for him; however, if the report is accurate they could have to hold him out of the ring at Bound for Glory. Mesias is the current AAA Champion in Mexico.

By the way, I mentioned this shot a couple of weeks back, praying that there'd be an animated GIF made.

I think you might've said that first.

My once a day reminder. Download ROH "Battle of the Icons" below. If you have any reviews of the show feel free to post here. If you have any notes to me regarding the editing of the show, just PM me with it.

Tomorrow, Fifth Year Festival: New York City will go up. I'm uploading these shows in chronological order so that everyone can keep up with ROH.

Along with the ROH shows, I'm going to start adding single matches for download once a week on Thursdays. I'm going to categorize them as MUST DOWNLOADS or SUPER MUST DOWNLOADS! That is also below.

SUPER MUST DOWNLOAD!

KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji vs. Ricky Marvin and Juventud "The Juice" Guerrera - 11/01/03

Great, great, GREAT match between the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions KENTA/Marafuji and Ricky Marvin/Juventud "The Juice" Guerrera with an ending that is insane. It's a SUPER MUST DOWNLOAD!

01. No DQ I Quit Match: Jimmy Rave vs. Nigel McGuinness
02. Last Man Standing: Jimmy Jacobs w/Lacey vs. BJ Whitmer
03. Mixed Tag Match: Lacey & Brent Albright vs. Colt Cabana & Sarah Del Ray
04. Six Man Tag Team: Shingo, Davey Richards & Delirious vs. Austin Aries, Roderick Strong & Jack Evans
05. ROH World Title Match: Homicide (c) w/Julius Smokes vs. Samoa Joe

Overall it was a decent show featuring Homicide's second title defense of 2007. Worth the download alone for the Homcide/Joe promos. It was the least exciting ROH live show I've been to, but the voice over commentary helps a lot. I've cut out three matches to help improve the pace of the show and it looks a lot better now. The six man tag is the best match on the card. It's also interesting because at the end you can hear Austin Aries exclaim that he hurt his ankle and is told by Roderick Strong to stay down.

Cut out were...

01. Adam Pearce vs. Pelle Primeau
02. Chris Hero vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Claudio Castagnoli
03. Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Rocky Romero & Ricky Reyes

Whenever I upload these shows, I'm always going to try and get each show to around 2 hours, essentially the same length as the PPVs. It allows me to cut out matches that may seem to be filler and overall improve the flow of things.

Also, I don't think people will have patience to sit for 3 hours. The total show length is 2 hours and 11 minutes. Original length is 3 hours and 2 minutes. You need to download all three parts and unrar them to watch this.

Oh you're back. You should have seen that impression Myke did of you. It was spot on.
What wrestlers are shown other than Styles/Joe, who are the only two we've seen thus far?

That .gif is *amazing*, Brak.
I don't have the issue with me at the moment but I remember seeing Christian and Angle. Like others have said, it looks incredible. If they can get it to play similarly to/as good as King of Colosseum, it'll be great.

Was it just pix? No hands-on preview?
ROH Driven Review from PW Torch. Again guys, let's support the company. Cheap as we may be, $10 is low enough that we can get behind wrestling of this quality .

Regarding the McGuinness-Danielson match:

Come on guys. Buy the PPV.
