I post here every other three months but I lurk a lot, mostly cause you guys are pretty hilarious and poignant in regards to wrestling. And back to shadows it is!

Actually, when did Tyler Black debut, or is he debuting this Friday?
Zen Davis comes to mind when thinking about members who were future endeavored.
Despite the fact that he went totally nuts towards the end, I did appreciate him keeping us up-to-date on ROH news.

Edit: I think Zen Davis went off his medication, or something.

Random notes from today.

Jillian has apparently been given trainer responsibilities for new talent in FCW. WWE definitely employs worse female talent than Jillian, like Alicia Fox, and the Bella Twins.

Luna Vachon's death has been ruled an accidental overdose of painkillers and anti-anxiety medication. While it has taken WWE a while, and progress is slow, WWE is heading in the right direction regarding the handling of substances. One aspect I enjoy of present-day WWE is that you can tell the talent is taking less steroids. And I have to praise WWE's recent ban of Soma. We'll never knew what happens behind-the-scenes, until years later, but hopefully these developments lead to/have lead to a healthier WWE roster.

Freddie Prinze, Jr. has returned to WWE's creative team as a producer and director. His first night back was this past Monday. So, if you liked the "direction" from last Monday's broadcast, go out, and buy one of those god-awful Scooby-Doo movies, or the Wing Commander film, which ever doesn't make you want to kill yourself.

Bobby Lashley wishes to fight again for Strikeforce, or another promotion. Hopefully, he has worked on his cardio, and one of the other many problems we saw in his game in his fight against Chad Griggs. I actually hope Lashley continues to pursue his MMA career. I want him as far away from a WWE ring as possible. A Lashley return to WWE would be a setback for younger talent.

I read the spoilers for this week's SmackDown. There is something of specific note I wanted to briefly discuss:

Low Ki won a match, and was given a spot on Team SmackDown. Then, and I'm still somewhat confused as to why, Tyler Reks appeared from the asshole he dwells, challenged "Kaval" for his spot, and dominated "Kaval" to victory. Who did Low Ki piss off to receive such poor treatment? Good god. I mean: Chavo, Jr., for fuck's sake.

Lashley showed no heart in his fight against Griggs, he was dominating and then just fell apart after seeing his own blood, he'll never be a legitimate Mixed Martial Artist, Christ's sake his biggest win has been over Wes Sims and he didn't even really look impressive doing that, they just need to set up Lashley Vs Batista already because they are both jokes and those are the only type of fights they're really good for.

I swear, this is what Lashley says, in his head, during every fight: "I think I can I think I can I think I can I think I can I think I can I think I can I think I can I think I can..."

;)

I had high hopes for Lashley when I first heard he was coming to MMA, After what Brock accomplished in such a short amount of time, but it turns out that Bobby Lashley is definitely no Brock Lesnar, Bobby has shown a complete unwillingness to take any sort of punishment in a fight, he was terrified to exchange punches with a guy 2 weight classes smaller than him in Jason Guida, looked utterly unimpressive against Wes Sims and QUIT the second things stopped going his way against Griggs, as both an MMA and Professional wrestling fan I am so disappointed in the way Lashley's career is playing out, I had really hoped to see him do well but I just can't see that happening.

thanks, I think. ;)

God*DAMMIT*.

EDIT: Bobby Lashley has underperformed in damn near everything he's attempted to do since his wrestling career started. Dude couldn't draw if he headlined an indy show in Bumfuck, Iowa.

"Bumfuck, Iowa" I think Bobby Lashley would draw more if he hailed from Bumfuck, Iowa. ;)

Yeah, Jillian's always been on my "Ugh" list, but at least it's not Kelly Kelly. I wonder why they didn't assign the role to Gail Kim. At least Kim's experience would be put to better use.

After looking at WWE's roster, I'll just say that I wonder how much more over/successful Heath Slater would be if he didn't sound like he'd ask us to squeal like a pig if he had a chance. :whistle2:k

Gail Kim? We want those tarts Divas™ to learn about bust size, not busting a suplex on their opponent. Don't you know anything about the wrestling business?

I mean, he's even out-douchebagging Tyson Kidd in this picture, and Tyson has that haircut.
I think they should have kept the cock rock gimmick for him with the blonde hair and Sebastian Slater name.
I do prefer the "Sebastian Slater" name, and his gimmick seemed pretty over, from what his FCW work shows. For Slater, it's hard to be a good heel, when he sounds like he's experiencing puberty. :whistle2:#

So ROH is doing two tapings in Louisville in mid-December for ROH TV. WGTT is going to be appearing on both shows, I haven't ever really followed ROH but I have seen a few matches. I get the feeling I know the answer, but do you guys think it would be worth the time and money to go?

I've always thought the fight with Jason Guida was one of the biggest guys that exposed him going to a decision against a guy out of his own weight class with a losing record and nearly getting tapped out in the 3rd round. The biggest clue should have been his unwillingness to fight top competition or even mid-card competition instead it was always cans that probably should have retired like Sims or Sapp.Although he was always being compared to Brock from his WWE days there wasn't really much to compare with both in MMA and Brock although new to the sport just jumps straight into fighting the best there is.

I didn't really care for him either in pro wrestling. For a guy that was getting the push that he was he sure didn't show any real promise except for being a big guy.At least Brock actually had some good matches and feuds as to where I can't think of a single good match with Lashley or a good feud.Just too easy to resent him when there's other much more deserving guys out there.

I do hope he continues in mma though just because I found it a lot more interesting then he was in pro wrestling. As much of a freak show like match Batista vs. Lashley would be I'd absolutely love to see it just to see two former pro wrestlers in a real fight :D.Lashley TKO round 1 if it'd ever happen.

I liked last monday.Actually had some good matches going on like CM Punk vs. Evan Bourne and surprisingly not squshing Bryan Danielson again for the 2nd time in a row and making him at least look strong in a losing effort. If Freddie Prinze Jr was behind those two matches and letting the 2nd mentioned match get some decent tv time more power to him.Have to refuse to buying one of those god awful Scooby Doo movies though :(.

Don't pay for the first two rows. Too expensive, and the show's at Davis, yeah? Buy a GA ticket, grab a bleacher seat, bring three friends, tailgate and kill some beers, then enjoy not only big time excellent wrestling, but also enjoy mocking the living fuck out of people who take it far too seriously.

Last time I went to ROH, at the ECW Arena (and admittedly my first ROH show in 2-3 years), I went with a friend and like 5 kids from 7-12. fuckin' had a blast watchin' those kids enjoy themselves.

I say go for it. GA tickets are cheap and if you get there early enough you'll land great seats. Don't pay the high prices for the first rows. You can get just as good seats with GA tickets. The wrestling will be top notch and you'll have a blast. Guaranteed.

I'll give TNA some credit. At least they're bringing in celebrities who are actual celebrities that those in the mainstream would know about it. Hate Jersey Shore all you want, but most people know who the people on the show are. How many times have they brought in some hick Nascar driver, country singer, or B/C rate sports star expecting a ratings pop?
Apparently, Mr. Anderson got injured again.
Have to feel bad for the guy.Great charisma and can cut a promo but just can't seem to stay healthy even in TNA's lighter workload. With as often as he seems to get hurt its no wonder hes on the juice.

Xpac was never near a main eventer... i like how he's there saying that crap too... i never liked him... i always liked nash.
i think nash has a good mind for the buisness

Sting is apparently gone from TNA. His contract is only through the end of the year and he's going to undergo shoulder surgery next week.

NXT is worth watching for the interaction between Michael Cole, Josh Matthews, and Matt Striker. I have the latest episode playing in the background, and nearly spit out my water as I hear Striker make a hilarious, understated Craig's List sex joke. I skipped back a few seconds, and you can see, and hear, Matthews and Cole in the background, bursting with laughter.

Earlier in the show, you can see Michael Cole dicking-around, and twisting back and forth in his chair.

Also, it should be noted that Cole calls Raw, NXT, and, now, SmackDown. He works a ton. I've grown to love Michael Cole. All he needs is someone to play off. You can tell that Cole has a real sarcastic sense of humor, and I like that.

I hope he headlines the HOF at Wrestlemania next year.

They're saying it was just a gash and he's still going to the house show he's booked for, just not having his match.

I like Sting and I do hope that he headlines the HOF in Atlanta next year (please god not Goldberg). But I've been really unimpressed with his wrestling since he lost to AJ last year. I guess the injury might have something to do with it (he still looked better than Nash though). But I heard that the reason he never took off his shirt was because he was out of shape. No reason for a guy who has been around as long as him to come back if he really shouldn't.

I liked Cole best when he was the butt of jokes from Rock.

While he really is better as a heel, he still isn't all that impressive. Just think what someone like Chris Jericho or Kevin Nash could do behind the table! Now that would be entertainment! Of course WWE wouldn't want guys like that as announcers because they can think fast on their feet and would be successful without the need of following orders through the headset.
I hope he headlines the HOF at Wrestlemania next year.
The Great Muta, Vader, or RoboCop, should induct Sting into the WWE Hall of Fame. Ric Flair would also work, but, well, he decided to work for TNA. Damn those hookers, and their money thievery.

Well, Michael Cole is certainly no Jerry Lawler. Lawler is the example by which all heel commentators should strive to be. But, Cole's the best WWE has right now.

CM Punk is great, as is the Miz, and Jericho. However, I'd prefer to see those three in the ring than sitting at a table. ;)

Nash should honestly replace that retard Tazz as color for TNA. Seriously, on the mic he is a goddamn genius...

Sorry, its been 5 minutes and I am still laughing at the "Alabama Hot Pocket".....

On a side note, has anyone made the goddamn Flairtongue.gif yet? if so where the hell is it? If not, wtf is taking so long?
Well, Michael Cole is certainly no Bobby Heenan. Heenan is the example by which all heel commentators should strive to be.
Fixed.

I love Kevin Nash as anything outside of an active wrestler. Manager? He's great. Commentator? He's great. Not sure if I'd trust him as head booker. But, as a guy sitting around the creative table? Sure.

JR or Luger would be fine with me. Or even Tony Schiavone :whistle2:#
Fixed.
That is true. Heenan used a smarter sarcastic style, and I loved it. What you heard with Lawler that you didn't hear with Heenan, is that in Lawler's tone, and the way he phrased what he said, you could hear what sounded like genuine hatred and disgust.

Heenan is definitely the superior commentator, though. :)
JR or Luger would be fine with me. Or even Tony Schiavone :whistle2:#
I thought about Lex Luger, but didn't list his name as I really did not like him as a wrestler. Yeah, he and Sting had a great on-screen friendship, but, man, having to sit through some of his matches, to get to better matches, was torture.

Jim Ross would work. Tony Schiavone would be interesting.

I still prefer RoboCop, though. ;)

Edit:

Interesting commentary by Booker T on some Sirius radio show.

Whether He Would return To TNA or WWE: "I’m a free agent… It’s about making a phone call. I left on good terms. I’m pretty good friends with Terry Taylor. I left on good terms with Dixie Carter. But I don’t want to get back on that WWE schedule… I would be willing to do commentary. I’d be willing to work behind the scenes (with WWE)."

Why He Went To TNA: "I went there to make those young guys a lot better, guys like A.J. (Styles), (Robert) Roode, Black Machismo, and the list goes on and on… The Main Event Mafia could still be going today… The wrestling business is all about the young guys coming up and taking those spots."

TNA Rehashing Old Angles: "I feel the past should left in the past. You cannot recreate WCW. TNA was in a great position to move up to the next level."

Rumors of Him Leaving a Live Event and Not Putting Over Matt Morgan: "It was one live event, overseas, and there was not any security. The fans were throwing full cans of beer. I felt unsafe working in that environment… I did not want to put over Matt Morgan that night because I had never had a segment with Matt Morgan."

While I think he's horrendous as a commentator, I would like to see him work behind-the-scenes for WWE. He seems to have a very good mind for the business. I love his logic regarding putting over Matt Morgan, TNA's lack of originality, and properly putting over younger talent.

Mid-90's WWF era Lawler was great, especially during his feud with Hart. Then he transitioned to the pervy old man persona during the Attitude era and his dickish heeldom kind of tapered off from there.
It was posted earlier in the thread. I forgot which page though.

EDIT: Found it! I posted it way back on page 9.

Thanks Beef.

Also, for those of you that dont know, Robocop, aka El Gigante aka Giant Gonzales from his run in the WWF passed away about a month ago I think it was. So The only hall he will induct Sting into is the one he would go to when Sting does a clean job in the middle for Jesus.

Booker T on commantary... Nah, I would have to pass on that one. He barely cuts a decent promo. He has a great mind for the business, but that doesn't qualify you for an announcing position. Want proof? Look at Tazz..... Ugh... I seriously get angry when I hear him shout "Let the pigeons loose!"..... /shudder
giant gonzalez was robocop?
The "Robocop" that Sting was supposed to show up to the ppv with in Washington DC when Luger faught Flair for the title after they had attacked Sting and kicked him out of the horseman and Sting had to have knee surgery was an over 7 foot tall hispanic man dressed in some weird ass metal armor. He became known as El Gigante in his time in WCW. When he went to WWF he was put into that freaky ass bodysuit and named Giant Gonzales.

God... I fell old as I was like 11 oe 12 when that ppv happened lol.... I think it was called Capital Combat, but i could be wrong on that part of it.
Man this thread got to 500 fast. Who's got the next one again?
