Yes, yet another indie bundle, but like the Humble Bundle, you can set your own price and donate to charity as well. The games only register on Steam, but that won't be a problem for most here. You get a key for each individual game, so you can gift whatever you do not personally want if you feel like it.

Happy Hour guidelines:

*Happy Hour happens at random times: sometimes as early as 4 days after the bundle going live, but most often during the second week of sales.

Happy Hour! Double Gifts! During Happy Hour time New buyers for every gift purchase get a 2nd bonus gift for free (2x1)! All gifts are doubled! Remember to check 'IS IT A GIFT'! *If you have not purchased the current Indie Gala yet, you can buy two for one during happy hour

And if you are an early buyer the deal is EVEN BIGGER!

Yes! If you already bought the current indiegala bundle, you get 2 bonus gifts for free for every gift purchased ( 3 x 1 ) *If you have already purchased the bundle, but you did not purchase it in the first week, you can buy three for one

And if you bought it in the first week you get 3 bonus gifts for free for every gift purchased ( 4 x 1 ) *If you already purchased the current bundle and did so in the first week of the current bundle going live, you can buy four for one

Remember to check 'IS IT A GIFT' ! if you want to take advantage of Happy Hour. You have to check this also if, after purchasing a bundle for yourself with your own email address, you want another additional bundle for you. If you don't, transactions amount will sum on your original email account and you can upgrade your purchase, obtaining more bonuses if you previously didn't unlock it, or more galapoints.

REMEMBER: (Gift purchases are not upgradable and don't contribute to upgrade your personal account for unlock new content.)
***For Happy Hour, you MUST use the same e-mail you used when buying your first bundle, and you MUST check the gift option below the payment method. You have to buy again during Happy Hour to receive gift copies.

CAG Group Buy Hosting FAQ

Q: I see all of these CAGs hosting group buys for people. What's that all about?
A: It's a way for CAGs to help each other get the best deal. One person will buy the bundle during the first week, then they will buy four gift copies at the highest tier during Happy Hour. This person is referred to as the host. They then try to sell these to participants for a fraction of the price of buying the "beat the average" bundle individually, plus some extra to distribute the cost of the initial bundle purchase in the first week. The host gains money back, and the participants get the full bundle for a fourth of the cost. Everyone wins.

Q: How do I host one?
A: To host a CAG group buy, you must first purchase the Indie Gala full BTA (beat the average) bundle in the first week (this has been changed since the previous bundles). This will allow you to purchase four additional bundles for the price of one during a Happy Hour, as stated in the Happy Hour post above. Now, it does matter how much you initially spend, as you must purchase the full bundle in order to purchase full bundle four-packs during Happy Hour. Then, once Happy Hour starts, you buy a gift copy for the current "beat the average" price, which will be listed on the Indie Gala page. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK "IS IT A GIFT" TO GET FOUR GIFT COPIES.

Q: It's asking me for multiple e-mail addresses. What do I do?
A: Just skip that part. The links to the gifts will be added to your account page (which is another reason why you must always use the same e-mail address when ordering from Indie Gala). Most hosts will send out the gift URLs to their participants in a PM.

Q: Is it hard to do?
A: No, it's very quick and easy. Just keep track of which gift URLs you have sent to which people, and you will be fine.

I'll be the one laughing when you've got jack shit for Galapoints and I'm spending mine on European call girls

I'm probably gonna pass on this one. After looking at the games, the only ones that I'm interested in are Great Little War Game (which I already own thanks to the big android market sale a few months back) and maybe Pitiri 1977. If I were interested though, I wouldn't know what to pay to beat the average. There isn't any indication on the website right now.

lol!!!!

Is happy hour working correctly? Not sure if I want to risk it. They've still got the old happy hour info up from the last bundle.. lol

Here's what I did: I bought a bundle for $1. Then in a following, separate transaction (with the same e-mail) I bought a gift expecting to get 4 bundles. Well, I only got 1 extra bundle.

It's probably best to wait until the kinks are worked out.

Edit: Also, I didn't get any keys for the first bundle I bought. The DRM-free downloads are provided but no Steam/Desura keys. So I guess that's proof that you have to BTA to get keys.

Ouch, yeah.. I was afraid of that. I guess I'll wait, sucks that the time limit for the bundle is set to 4 days.. unless they extend it. I'm willing to buy one of your bundles if your problem ends up getting fixed though.

I suspect that the display of Happy Hour on the website is a glitch. They had a similar glitch just as the bundle launched. You can see it in a screen shot that I took of the bundle just as it went live. It's behind the spoiler tag in my last post on the previous page.
Now they're including Desura keys, too?
Well for those of us who prefer a client, for games that are not on Steam it is better than nothing. I don't want DRM free because it would get completely lost and forgotten among the sea of games and I'd never remember to check for updates.

Anyway, I kinda want Pitri but I will wait for a (real) happy hour I think.

Also, what a shocker. No use for the Gala points yet.

Yeah, the main game I want in the bundle is Pitri.. wouldn't mind paying $1 for that whenever a real happy hour occurs.

It wasn't a negative thing, as I have a ton of games on Desura. Just a bit of a surprise.

Also: I'm sticking with European sex workers for the Gala points.

I'd bet the rent money that Pitiri 1977 (and possibly the other Desura games too) will end up in an Indie Royale bundle sometime down the line.

First Indie Gala I am going to pass on. Nothing really looks like I want to try it. There really isn't that star headliner.

Then again I don't mind, means less money I have to spend .

Astoundingly, Gala contacted me 10 minutes after I sent them a message about my plight. Here's what they said:

It was a mistake of ourwebmaster, he left the text for 2 minutes. If you want we can give you 2 additional gifts.
Astoundingly, Gala contacted me 10 minutes after I sent them a message about my plight. Here's what they said:
If you end up taking the 2 additional gifts, I'll buy one from you. I don't understand what they mean by "leaving the text for 2 minutes"?

The Steam and Desura icons got added where applicable. Your Gala points bonus is for the first week. I'd wait at least until tomorrow morning for the kinks to get worked out.

I can never understand wtf is going on on indiegala webpages. At least I can rely on them to introduce me to games I've never heard of before, though Cardinal Quest and GLWG have looked interesting in the past.

How does this work? Do they have an app like HIB, or is it just direct links to .apk's that you sideload?

Are all the games Android, or just the don't-beat-the-average ones?

I guess I would pay $1.50 or so for a steam key for whatever a "turba" is.
Now they're saying on Twitter that you will earn "Galapoints" for doing various things like buying early, gifting, etc. They won't say what you can do with them yet.
A new site to use gala points on, eh? My prediction is that it'll be a store with Shirts, Hats & Coffee Mugs with the Indie Gala logo on it. For every 1,000 points that you have, you get 1% off the purchase price.

Hm, GLWG doesn't want to work on my HP Touch pad with CM9. Never mind, just had to redownload a couple times. The games all run just fine. Tried Cardinal Quest, it's a smooth, accessible Roguelike. Pretty fun.

Also, couldn't help but notice Legend of Yore uses the same open-source graphics as Hack, Slash, Loot and Realm of the Mad God...getting a little tired of them tbh.

lol sounds like something they'd do, take your order then just order everything from cafe press.

Or a drm free copy of bad rats

Meh so no updates or else you have to hope the devs give the updates to Indie Gala and then hope they get off their butts to post it and then check back every so often to see if there is an update?

This is exactly the kind of nonsense why I refuse to game without a client of some sort. I don't care of it's Steam or Desura or Google Play or even Humble's little mini client, I just don't want to have to always feel like I am missing updates or I have to keep going back to check if there is one for multiple games.
I just don't want to have to always feel like I am missing updates or I have to keep going back to check if there is one for multiple games.
It's possible for the games themselves to check for an update; I know at least one of the Humble Bundle apps did that before they developed their client.

Google Play doesn't have promo codes. You can suggest they add that on this site:
https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/bin/static.py?hl=en&page=suggestions.cs

It doesn't look like Amazon Appstore has promo codes either. Not even SlideME has them. So the only solution would be to develop their own client, like Humble Bundle.

FWIW, I've been playing Fruit Blitz since Indie Gala 2, and never thought to look for an update to it.

I'm optimistic about Gala going the Desura route.

If they continue with this then, at the very least, the games will be more interesting than the boring mediocrity they've been peddling lately. I'm looking at you Gala 5.

Indie Gala sent out an email stating there is only one day left on this bundle. Checked their website and it's 1d+17 hrs so more like a day and 3/4 left.

Though I'm not all at convinced they will stick to their guns on this, thought I would put it out there as an FYI.
