What happens when Riley's on his own though?
The real question would be is he better off being with Miz, then being with Nexus? They could always get over Riley by having him turn on the Miz.
What happens when Riley's on his own though?
Drinking?
Driving?
Unemployment?
Not at all. Alex Riley is a great hype man for Miz.
Hopefully, he because a damn good heel, just like The Miz. So annoyingly good.
Sting has been removed from TNA's roster.
I really hope that's a sign of things to come.
I really hope that's a sign of things to come.
Or it could be TNA messing around with the IWC.... which would not shock me.

Don't read too much into Sting's removal from the roster.. his contract expired and he hasn't re-signed (yet). SOP.

Good points, guys. I guess we'll just have to be patient, and wait to see what happens.

Does anyone else follow JR's blog? It's usually a good read. Oh, and his beef jerky is actually really good. I try to order from his store throughout a year.

It's a shame that WWE has no real tag team division. Breaking up a team like the Usos seems like a real bad idea. They definitely could have done more with the 'smart-instead-of-savage Samoan' gimmick. However, I think Tamina is better off as a part of the Santino-Kozlov tag team.

So you mean that Sting and The Undertaker's storied feud won't come to a head at this year's Wrestlemania!?!?!?
Where's strongpimphand at now? It looks like his account has been deleted. I thought he just got a temp ban.
I'm not going anywhere near the mouth of that gift horse.

Hey, I was watching Raw, and notice,d when they announced David Otunga, there's something in the middle the dude says. Sounds like 'Pele' or something. They say the same thing in the Smackdown game, so can someone help me out and tell me what the fuck they're saying!?

The only pro wrestling people I follow on Twitter are Jim Ross, CM Punk, and Chris Jericho. I dig JR's commentary on random things, and Punk and Jericho are just hilarious.

I'm reading through what I missed of Punk's feed, and found these gems:

"'@Brewskie71: @CMPunk Did u really talk to Sting?' Yes. He has a message you all of you...in a bottle."

"@justinbieber hi justin. @AngelEmmz thinks we should be friends. OMG. EL OH EL."

"'@Chrisgarland1: @CMPunk its faeces, dumdum' This is America, not a prison colony. Go away."

He went through a period of using "dum dum" and "feces" in replies to WWE's more ignorant fans. 'Twas hilarious.

"'@Maryam87Rose: I'm NOT Following @CMPunk Anymore!!! HaHaa!!' But you tweeted me to say that. Feces. Dumdum."

"'@babycakes039: @CMPunk Apparently the ones that like u r weak, and the ones that hate u r strong. Your supporters got the message.'
Huh!? Feces. Dumdum."

"Sometimes I am overwhelmed at the stupid shit some people tweet me. I get nice ones too, but the majority is pure feces from dumdums."

I appreciate how Jericho, JR, and Punk actually reply to fans. JR is pretty chatty, and, as a fan of these people, I just find it neat when they reply.

That right there shows the allure of being a heel.

How much fun must Punk be having? He's essentially being paid to be an obnoxious troll. And lord knows that being obnoxious and pretentious is one thing most punk rock kids are great at.

Yeah, yeah, merchandising is wonderful and all that - but can you imagine having to force feed a smile not just at everybody you meet - but every WRESTLING FAN you meet? Being a pro wrestling babyface is living the life of the "customer is always right, so slap on that smile and eat that shit sandwich" mentality.

John Cena can't tell a 5-year old to take a hike, but it's in Punk's *job description.* Quite jealous.

DLC Pack 3 is up on the PSN store for SvR11. Hopefully that means it will be out tomorrow for 360. Can finally start my WWE vs WCW story.

Also that "It's still real to me dammit" guy is gonna be the Web Redemption for next week's Tosh.0
Nitro arena TOMORROW?!

:whee:

I'll compose a WCW theme pack tomorrow night for the occasion. Any requests?
I don't think a clear version of the Mortis theme has ever been found, but I can dream. :) My version sounds like the guy didn't have a dual cassette, but he DID have TWO radios...

Can I get DDP, nWo black and white, and Booker T (WWE version).
Can I get DDP, nWo black and white, and Booker T (WWE version).
the first two are definitely going to be in my WWE pack.. I'll do Booker T's WWE one at a later time (as in.. not in a WCW-only pack). DDP's going to be his "Self High Five" theme that goes right into the guitar riffs, not his later one.

Dean Malenko
Four Horsemen (the last version is, I think, the one I prefer)
Hollywood Blondes
Sting (Man Called Sting)

...honestly, I'm having trouble thinking of other classic WCW themes I'd like to hear.

I'm putting the 7th and 8th Horsemen themes in the pack because I like them so much.

man I love the 4 Horsemen.

Malenko's is definitely already in, one of my favorite WCW themes. I'll check on Hollywood Blondes. I have to edit Sting's down, but I'll put that one in too.

/edit: I love the Armstrong's theme too, and it will be included. It'll be a massive pack.

There is only one theme that you should want to hear.

I know people don't want it to be Undertaker in that promo, but it could be worse. There are far worse choices involving wrestlers with long coats.

Has anyone, in the last 10 years, been a better heel than CM Punk and Chris Jericho? I know it's subjective, but those two have just been incredible heels. For example, Jericho said he refused to put out merchandise during his mega-heel run. He said something to the extent of "Why would anyone want to wear a tee shirt of a jerk?"

Jericho played a classic heel. On Colt Cabana's podcast, he said that CM Punk plays himself on TV, for better or for worse, and that he hasn't changed since joining the E. Punk is also an example of a classic heel.

It helps that Punk and Jericho have incredible wit and personalities that translate well when speaking.

In my humble opinion, classic WCW music would be:

— Chris Benoit's first theme

— Brian Pillman's second track — http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Snk5Wrg-ziw

— Sting's Crow music

— The Hollywood Blondes' music

— I prefer Arn's theme to the later Horsemen themes

— I like to think that Rey Jr.'s WCW is iconic, like Dean Malenko's

— Chris Jericho's second theme

— Raven's music

I don't know who did those themes (Jimmy Hart?) but they did a great job regardless of mimicking real songs.

I think WCW had very iconic entrance music. From Lex Luger to Buff Bagwell, all the way down to Disco Inferno, Alex Wright, La Parka, Psicosis, and...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o12_TAanxQs

...Ernest Miller.

I've watched a few of the Cat's matches, in recent months, and they aren't as bad as I remember.

Update on DLC pack 3. Sheamus and Punk's alt outfits will appear under the normal roster. American Badass Taker and Purple Cena though will need to be accessed under the "downloaded superstars" section. While I can understand that Taker would fit under that section (so you can have the motorcycle entrance without screwing up the deadman Taker), dont know why they couldn't include Cena's outfit as an alternate outfit instead of being a totally new character.

Scorch, can you also add in ABA Taker's themes (Rollin and You're Gonna Pay) in the pack after your WCW one?

One step ahead of you JJSP. American Males AND Buff Bagwell's solo theme included. Raven's already in there. Anyway, I'm out for the night.. I'll be back to post the theme pack tomorrow night.

TheRock88 - I do have his Rollin theme, but I don't have You're Gonna Pay. I'll have to search around for it. I hated his ABA gimmick, that's why I don't have it. Which Rollin do you want? I have Rollin with the footsteps intro and one that just starts at the "Keep rollin" line.

Actually forget about the You're Gonna Pay theme, forgot it was on the Anthology cd so I'll just rip it from there. Rollin, I'd prefer the one that starts right away without the footsteps. Thanks.

hell fuck yes..heard something about that this morning.. waiting for the official news

Probably my favorite WCW theme, even if it's just a rock version of a Bach piece and there's not a CD quality version of it out there.

Come to think of it, Wrath's theme was awesome too, but every time I try to look that up I just get results that are his crappy generic rock theme he used after the Mortis/Wrath/Glacier BRC gimmick was killed.

Can sort of hear it here if you tune out Tony blabbering about Nitro parties. Motherfucking epic entrance, by the way. Weird that Wrath actually predated Kane by several weeks, since the initial presentation of both was very similar:

Tony Schiavone is a much better commentator than Michael Cole. Schiavone did a great job of hype man for the show. Sure, he'd talk over matches, but he'd still call moves, create stories, and try to link parts of the show to each other.

Bobby Heenan is just gold. He, perhaps, wasn't as comical in WCW as he was in WWE, but, man, could he weave stories better than anyone.

And I love that version of Mike Tenay. From Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, to Nigel McGuinness, and even Ric Flair: TNA just taints everyone they touch.

Regarding Kofi Kingston on any WWE product cover: Is Kofi as popular amongst the kids as WWE wants us to believe?

I miss the days of Gorilla Monsoon doing promos and commentary. It may seem weird, but back then wrestling did seem to have at least a little class, it still felt like it was treated a little like boxing. Now they don't even try.

I was looking on wikipedia, did anyone know that Muhammad Ali actually got in the ring once and got thrown around a little by Monsoon?

Ali also had a "match" with Antonio Inoki. Boxer/wrestler matches were all the rage in their day.

He does seem to be very popular with kids...though I think billing him from Ghana and not Boston actually hurts more than it helps.
