Night OTT

Going to the ballgame Sunday. I'm going two hours early so I can walk around the park and take pics. Then going next week to put in applications again. This time I'm not going to do only food service. I'm going to try everything.

Morning OTT. I imagine the big deepdiscount price mistake(?) on games caused a stir around here yesterday. I discovered it late in the day and the site was just too crippled to get an order in. Figured it wasn't worth struggling with it for an hour on something that probably wouldn't ship anyway.

NBA Finals start tonight. The NBA playoffs are so fucking drawn out that it's hard for me to really keep interested in them over the entire haul. I believe they hard code the final series dates before the playoffs start so they don't have much room to push series up when one ends early. Feh.

I've been just DVRing the 4th quarter + an hour or two (in case of OT) and watching the games the next morning.
Wow.
Quackzilla is back eh? I'm still curious about what happened on his wreckless driving charge. (He was going over 100MPH IIRC.) According to my sources he was likely going to spend a few days in county jail.

yeahh, I checked it when everything was in stock, I started adding a few things then I refreshed and everything was out of stock... apparently it got FW'd, highly doubtful it woulda gone through to begin with.

it was worth a shot with rogue galaxy, ffxii, and oblivion collectors edition for like 12 bucks total.
I believe it is the case that the Spurs havent lost once they've made it to the finals.
I think that's right. And they are a better team than the Cavs so they should pull another one out.

Just took a look at the schedule and there isn't a single finals game on a Friday or Saturday and they all start at 9PM. W.T.F. Game 7 (if needed) will be June 21st, which I believe is over a full year after the season began. ;)
Wow, my allergies haven't been this bad since last month. What the hell is bothering me now?
air.

I know that's what I'm allergic to. I tried to limit my exposure, but that hasn't been working out so well...:lol:

Hardy har har, ya big jerk.

I'm thinking it's pollen, but who the hell knows.

(an allergist could help, but I keep forgetting to call)

Always glad to provide an alternate point of view.

If you do go to the allergy specialist, let me know if you think it's worthwhile... I've been debating doing it since I moved to this God-foresaken valley, but I'm not quite sure whatever is bothering me is allergy related.

Well, I was going to see one a few weeks ago because after moving into my new house, I could barely breathe from whatever was in there. Turns out it was just musty since it hadn't been open for nearly a month. After I aired it out and shampooed the carpets, I got a lot better. The past few days have been bad, but not as bad as then. Claritin doesn't really help that much so I think I better go see an allergist. I'll let you know how it goes for sure.
Say what now? Details. Please?
The latest CAGcast (#78 I believe) basically started with Cheapy reading an email from Graystone. And not too long after that he took some phone calls and one of the callers was Zewone.

So I ordered Odin Sphere from Frys how long ago now and a week ago I sent an email requesting my order be cancelled. I finally purchase the game last night at Best Buy (along with Prey collector editon) and not only do I get notice that Fry's just shipped the game and never cancelled my order but I also get a 10% off coupon in the mail from Best Buy Reward Zone. :bomb:

(and thats the third time in the past month in a half that I've literally gotten that coupon in the mail the day after I buy stuff at Best Buy :bomb: :bomb: )

Return em. Then repurchase using coupon.

Didn't morbid and some others not want the Ducks to win? Something about Chris Pronger never touching the cup?

Damn that crotchrot Paris Hilton. Why couldn't she just get shanked while in jail? At least it would've given her a real reason to get out early.

Curious to see if anything happens to it. Unlikely that it'll go anywhere. Still shows as open, though with no confirmation email and no auth on my CC.

Oh I would have definitely ordered some DS games and probably some 360 games (plan to get one some day) as well if the site had been responding for me. Always worth a shot. I was looking at the 5 hour old thread on SD and figured even if I did get an order in and DD actually ships some, the tons of copies of anything priced under $4 ordered before me would most likely exhaust their supply. I put a game in my cart, went to checkout, then it took me to a blank page when I logged in. Then I refreshed and got the login in page again (each click and load was taking about a minute) and this time the browser threw up an error code on the login. At that point I figured it was time to go back to enjoying my evening.

Of course I didn't expect Overstock to ship the games they had marked at $2 way back in the day (remember that one?) and my order did ship. That's why it's always worth a shot.
Found this page linked from the thread on the Deals page with the OP asking if he overpaid for a vacuum cleaner (dude bought a $1600 Kirby model...) Very entertaining read.

http://www.cockeyed.com/citizen/kirby/kirby.html
Pretty sad, really. Why would anyone think that a traveling vacuum salesperson isn't there to try and rip you off. And if they're so good, why wouldn't they be sold direct from the website or via retailers? :whistle2:s

On the thread on CAG about it, some idiot claims that the Dyson doesn't work worth a damn. Having owned one for multiple years, that guy is full of crap. It works fantastically.

yeah... I think there's a reason they're expensive as hell, they work magically.

Morning.
All this vacuum talk reminds me that I need one.

The little piece of shit I use now does nothing.
Personally, my little piece of shit vacuum works just fine for my needs. It can handle dorm room (now apartment) carpet once every week or two.

I need to go out and apply for a few jobs with the city today, fun stuff like park maintenance and cleaning the public pool's deck. That said, if they'll take me and pay me, it'll have to do. I've also got to explain again to my mom that there's no fucking way to get a 4.5GB ISO onto her external hard drive because the file system won't allow me to. She keeps insisting my sister can do it, so this is going to be a challenge...
No. Probably not.

The book is worth a read, because it was written by a man. The film was directed by a woman, and was adapted into a film about male vanity. (The book was about female vanity.)
Huh... I don't do well with hidden meaning. I just giggled when he killed people. I always hated the interpretive reading tests. "What was the author thinking when he said X?" How the fuck should I know? Do I look like the author? Ask him.

There are a lot of books I'd like to read, just not enough time and concentraition.
He's Bateman, yes. Kill anyone? No.

Just like how his shitty little Glock didn't blow up a cop car. ;)

The murder spree was all in his head, and I expect it was helped along by the cocaine he was doing. I don't even think Detective Kimball exists, personally, and that all scenes with him, along with the hooker and girls Bateman killed, was dreamt in his head. I expect he did so while listening to music, and his thoughts and fantasies stemmed from that (as well as his monologues concerning the music). The scenes where people saw him with evidence of murder (like the girl in the dry cleaning shop, and the gay guy from work seeing Paul Allen's body) was also a dream sequence, that could show that he WANTED people to see that he was murdering people. As you'll recall, Paul Allen did indeed go to England, and the closet full of women did not exist. Further the people he killed, aside from Paul Allen, were all characters that wouldn't be missed, so to speak- mere aquaintances or minor friends and a hooker, so they could easily not even exist.

Most of his anger came from yuppies like himself, and was helped along by drugs, his easy job, shitty friends and transparent lives. The music and murders were an outlet for his frustration with his situation.

At least, that's what I think. :]
So... what about the lawyer calling him Marcus? Was that in his head as some kind of representation of him questioning what his identy really was?

What does 'shed have to say?

Mine works fine, but with my allergies, I like to get the house as cleas as possible.

Good luck on the job hunt.
She have FAT16 on it or something....?
Isn't the max file size 4GB in FAT32? I've always thought that FAT16 had a limit of 2GB. :whistle2:s

The dyson chika bought eats everything... only downside is the brush deally likes to get hairs twisted around it and proves to be a bitch to clean. That and the fact that it runs on human souls. It has to... a deal with the devil is the only way a vacuum could operate as this one does.
She have FAT16 on it or something....?
Oh. my. word.

Where's Strell with some snappy wit? That's an opening the size of the gap in Jorja Fox's teeth.

Damnit, new UNKLE is on OiNK and I won't be home until 6 p.m.

Autolux, Josh Homme, Massive Attack's 3D, Jeordie White and others = great or huge letdown.
yeah... I think there's a reason they're expensive as hell, they work magically.
Magically to suck money out of your wallet.

FAT16 partition size limit = 2GB
FAT32 partition size limit = 32GB
NTFS partition size limit = 16TB

If it's a drive larger than 32GB, it's formatted in NTFS or split up into 32GB-sized pieces. As long as it's not FAT16, which would make sense for drives larger than 2GB, you shouldn't have an issue.

Which reminds me, it might be time to clean that beater bar out.

The problem he's talking about is the same problem I had before I upgraded from Windows 98. He probably has a FAT32 system that'll let you hold a large HD, but the max file size is only 4GB. So you cannot copy a full .iso onto the HD unless you do it in to smaller files and link them together somehow. It's a huge pain and the easiest way to deal with it is upgrade your OS (or if it's an external HD, convert the file system to NTFS).

ZIP/RAR/somethinglikeit would be the best bet to slice it up into 2 pieces, then it should copy without issue.

Converting the drive to NTFS would be the best way to do it.

It would be...or I can just make her wait for a few hours because I can't delete the crap my sister's got on there without her permission.

I choose the path of least resistance. :)

In what? Either way, thats fucked up.

You'll survive, though.

Ran acrossed Nightmares on Wax last night while messing on Last.fm. I got one of their albums(In a Space Outta Sound) and I'm liking it thus far.

Oh yeah, forgot FAT32 had the 4GB limit, I though it was slightly larger than that.
Never mind.

Man, thank goodness for NTFS.
