WRESTLEMANIA 27 BUYRATE
By Mike Johnson on 2011-05-25 16:05:48

WWE claimed that Wrestlemania 27 would top one million buys and they were right.

In the company's latest monthly business report, the company's official preliminary estimate is that the flagship PPV drew 1,042,000 buys worldwide.
Looks like The Rock being host and maybe Snooki really did help the buyrate.

I'm sure you did.

I'm honestly surprised that WM27 did over a million buys. I wouldn't attribute Snooki to any of those buys. I would be really interested to see the WM27 buy rates versus the next PPV, which I think was Extreme Rules. You definitely have to factor in the name of the PPV for the majority of those buys - I seriously doubt that many people bought it based on the card.

Zack's show is getting kind of lame.

What an awful show that was - this "WRESTLING MATTERS" bullshit is just annoying when you've got ONE match on a show that isn't a joke in some way. EY and Gunner's match revolved around recreating a company-killing storyline from twelve years ago and yes, they brought up EY swerving him. Then they showed a super-dramatic RVD-Angle video, which seemed slightly out of place. Hogan and Bischoff may or may not have power, the company's name may or may not be TNA, and the X division may or may not matter, but one thing's for sure - Kendrick is a loser who can't even beat Abyss after he's attacked by Kazarian in the back. Someone, Kaz is a face in this and Abyss is a heel despite him overcoming the odds and escaping with his title.

Velvet Sky and ODB's talking segment was awful. Yelling, bitches, whores, you know the score. Disco and Anderson's was even worse, and it wasn't because of Disco - he was actually great. Anderson just buried Sting six feet under here. Why was it the Scorpion Sitdown? BECAUSE STING IS OLD AND CAN'T WRESTLE. THE WORLD CHAMPION, THE THEORETICAL TOP GUY IN THE COMPANY, IS OLD AND CAN'T WRESTLE. THIS IS WHAT HIS TOP CONTENDER, WHO WANTS THE TITLE THIS BROKEN DOWN OLD MAN HAS, SAID. God, could Russo or Anderson or SOMEONE in TNA actually read Mick's first book where he talked about how stupid it is to bury your opponent like that? Now if Anderson loses, he lost to a guy who is old, can't wrestle, and can only do sitdown interviews, and if he wins, so what? All he did was beat a guy who's old and can't wrestle. fuck Russo, fuck Dixie for hiring her, and fuck Anderson for being so damned annoying.

Hogan and Foley's stuff was...I don't know. Foley tried to put over the X division, then said they'd all be able to fit into a single match, so...that must be one hell of a huge division then. Hogan babbled about stuff, called Brian Kendrick "Kendricks", talked about Abyss being X-rated, didn't list a reason, I'm not sure why. If TNA was a hentai, the reason would involve Janice (Abyss's weapon, not Dixie's mother - that would be if TNA granny porn).

Mickie-Winter had good intensity, RVD-Angle was theoretically a good TV main event, but it was killed by the commentary, which beyond being just loud because everyone kept talking over each other, also took over the screen because they decided to split-screen for seemingly half the match. WCW had an easier time covering the Spring Stampede '94 street fight than TNA did covering a wrestling ring and an announce table. I did like Jarrett at least putting Angle over on commentary AND having only one Angle slam get the win - made RVD look a bit like a jobber, but it did do something to at least undo the damage of OVER A DECADE of using the Angle slam as if you were in a video game and just maxed out your special meter to do it over and over again in a row.

Oh, and AJ got his revenge by spike piledriving Dreamer, so I guess that part of the feud is over and we'll get Bully-AJ at the PPV after building it up with two street fights. Also, Roode will apparently be out for Slammiversary so instead of a great Beer Money match, we can get ANOTHER MYSTERY PARTNER ANGLE. Which I'm sure will have the same payoff as the one they did...actually earlier this month because it's still May. Maybe now, instead of teasing Jeff Hardy and delivering Chris Harris, they'll tease Chris Harris and deliver Jeff Hardy. Or Devon. Or Scott D'Amore. OR VINCE RUSSO. BECAUSE NO ONE WOULD SEE IT COMING!

Quotes -
Tenay - TONIGHT IS THE FIRST EVER IMPACT WRESTLING MEETING BETWEEN KURT ANGLE AND RVD! ALSO, IT’LL BE THE DEBUT OF THE SCORPION SITDOWN!
Taz - I almost had to close my eyes during the spike piledriver - that’s how I broke my neck in ‘95.
Hemme - WELCOME TO THE SCORPION SITDOWN!
Tenay - OH NO, NOT THIS AGAIN!
Ander sting - WELCOME TO THE FIRST EVER SCORPION SITDOWN. Why a sitdown? I CAN NO LONGER WRESTLE so I’ll do what every wrestler does when they can’t wrestle - have an interview segment! I’d like to bring out my first guest, somebody from my past - THE ONE THE ONLY DISCO INFERNO!
Taz - WHAT?!
Ander sting - Not only did you see the crappy clown makeup and Liberace outfits, YOU SAW IT ALL!
Disco - You really are an asshole, aren’t ya?
Ander sting - Yeah, it’s kinda my thing.
Disco - You flew me from Vegas and you wanna know the truth about Sting? There’s 10,000 at the Omni…
Ander sting - IT’S SHOWTIME! WOOOOO!
Disco - Whatever you’re doing here, you flew me from Vegas AND YOU’LL LISTEN TO WHAT I HAVE TO SAY! THE ONE THING STING COMMANDED WAS RESPECT! You can’t pretend that when you were 10, you grew up as a Sting fan - that’s what we were! THAT’S WHY THEY CALL HIM THE ICON!
Ander sting - I’VE HAD ENOUGH! SEE THE CUTE SCORPION? AND THE FACT THAT I FLEW YOUR ASS FROM VEGAS - IT’S MY SHOW. I LEAD, YOUR ASS FOLLOWS. I DIDN’T BRING YOU OUT HERE TO SWING FROM HIS NUTS, I BROUGHT YOU OUT TO BURY HIM! BURY STING! SO WITH THAT IN MIND, DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING YOU’D LIKE TO ADD TO BURY THE ICON STINGER! WOOOOOOOOO!
Disco - If you want me to bury Sting, I’m not. I’d like to ask you one question - why do you call yourself an asshole when you’re really just a dick?
Crowd - DICK DICK DICK DICK!
Ander sting - EXCUSE ME!?
Disco - Did I stutter?! I SAID (dances) DICK!
EY - Hogan-Nash, Georgia Dome ‘99 - IT WAS AWESOME. I don’t know if you could afford a TV then, BUT IT WAS AWESOME. One finger, I’ll go down, you get your lowly belt back, and I get to keep my world title.
Velvet - ODB, THAT SNEAK ATTACK SHIT DON’T FLY WITH ME, SO WOMAN UP AND COME OUT HERE AND TELL ME WHAT YOUR PROBLEM IS! NOW! Now that I have your attention, you mind explaining to me face to face and not from behind what your problem is with me?
ODB - A YEAR AGO, I GOT A CALL FROM MANAGEMENT THAT I WASN’T NEEDED ANYMORE! Was it because I have no talent, a bad attitude, or no wrestling ability? Nah, it was none of the ability - NAH, IT WAS YOUR ASS THAT GOT ME FIRED!
Velvet - I don’t mean harm to your or the other knockouts. EVERYONE BLAMES VELVET I’M SICK OF IT. I’VE EARNED MY SPOT HERE IN TNA! I’VE EARNED EVERYTHING I’VE GOTTEN - I BUSTED MY ASS!
ODB - YOU SLEPT YOUR WAY TO THE TOP! SHAKING YOUR POOTIE TANG ON THE ROPES ISN’T WORK! YOUR LITTLE SILICONE, OR BIG SILICONE! I’LL GIVE YA SOMETHING TO CRY ABOUT YA BITCH! YOU LIKE IT ON YOUR BACK, DON’T YA!
RVD - I’m in Impact Wrestling because I was brought here because of what I do.
Angle - The one thing we have here that no one else has is the very best wrestlers in the world.
Eric - According to the doctor, you’re iffy - AND YOU HAVE TO DEFEND YOUR TITLES. You have 30 days, and you know the consequences…THINK ABOUT ME!?
Storm - The doctor ain’t gonna clear him in 3 weeks, Eric!
Eric - Yeah, well, we gotta find a replacement - we can’t wait until the last week! Now you, you look like a mystical hillbilly. Country Jesus mojo. Find some manure, spread it on him, and he’ll be healed!
Storm - I’M NOT JESUS, I CAN’T HEAL HIM, TURN WATER INTO WINE, BUT I CAN STICK MY FOOT UP YOUR ASS!
Eric - You could do that, but you’d never work here or anywhere else in this business again. So while you’re contemplating your healing power, think about that. Sorry about your damn arm!
Tenay - LET’S SHIFT GEARS! On Xplosion, there’s been an issue between the Pope and Devon! (a video airs with no audio from it)
Hemme - THE FOLLOWING COMPETITION IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL!
Earl - YOU HAVE TO GO!
Karen - NO, I’M SITTING!
Tenay - HULK HOGAN IS WALKING BACKSTAGE! WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT ON IMPACT WRESTLING?!
Eric - Thank you all very much AND I LOVE YOU ALL TOO. Each and everyone of you…fine people… You may wonder why I have such a big smile, but I have a lot to be happy about. Last week, I told you Hulk was busy and he had to sit down with some network execs and Foley and I described it as a handicap match if you will and unfortunately for the people involved, they were handicapped - you put two network execs and Foley in the room with Hogan, and I know who I’ll put my money on. THE NETWORK FIGURED OUT THAT FOLEY COULDN’T FIND HIS ASS WITH TWO HANDS AND A GPS, AND WHO WAS QUALIFIED TO LEAD IMPACT WRESTLING - HULK HOGAN!
Tenay - It looks like Immortal might be back in control!
Hogan - YOU’RE EXACTLY RIGHT BROTHER. ALL IT TOOK WAS A GOOD OLD-FASHIONED SITDOWN, AND IT WAS UNANIMOUS - AFTER THEY VOTED FOR A HALF-SECOND, THERE WAS ONLY ONE MAN TO SAIL THIS SHIP AND IT’S YOURS TRULY! HULK HOGAN! BUT YA KNOW WHAT BLEW MY MIND WAS THE SAME THING THAT ALWAYS BLOWS MY MIND - INSTEAD OF SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS FOR 2 HOURS, I WAS DOING IT FOR 10, AND INSTEAD OF BEATING PEOPLE UP IN THE RING, I BEAT THEM UP OUTSIDE. AND AFTER THE MEETING WITH FOLEY SITTING RIGHT THERE, THEY STOOD UP AND GIVE ME A STANDING OVATION! WE’RE BACK IN THE SADDLE AND IT’S CLEAR SAILING, BUT ENOUGH ABOUT ME, I WANNA TALK ABOUT YOU! WHAT YOU DID LAST WEEK, THE STRIDES YOU TOOK TO MAKE IMPACT A GREAT SHOW. YOU TOOK THE X DIVISION THAT WAS AROUND FOR 9 YEARS AND WIPED IT OFF THE FACE OF THE PLANET WAS SHEER GENIUS! THE FANS SPOKE THEIR PEACE AND SAID THE X DIVISION DOESN’T MATTER AND YOU’RE THE ONLY MAN WHO DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Nobody invited you out here, Foley!
Foley - I don’t need an invite - I’M A NETWORK EXECUTIVE! You may have fooled a lot of people, but after you walked out, all you succeeded in was pissing the network off. When you left, I took the network on a stroll down memory lane and showed them that the X division put this company on the map and what made this company better. I told them we couldn’t have a company where wrestling mattered without an X division. IT’S NOT GOING TO JUST BE AROUND, BUT IT’S GOING TO BE BIGGER THAN EVER. IN JULY, WE’LL PUT ALL THE X DIVISION WRESTLER TOGETHER IN A PARDUKY I LIKE TO CALL ULTIMATE X!
Eric - You spent your career bouncing your career off tacks and chasing people with a sock, which I guess make you an X division expert, but let me remind you of something - it’s a PPV. THIS IS TV and while you may be a consultant for TV, YOU DON’T HAVE SQUAT TO DO WITH PPV!
Foley - You didn’t get me. While it’s true it’ll be a PPV, the truth is, it’s the network that promotes our PPVs! SO UNLESS YOU THINK YOU CAN PUT ON A PPV WITHOUT THE HELP OF THE NETWORK, I’LL SEE YOU AT DESTINATION X!
Hogan - OKAY THAT’S REAL FUNNY. SINCE YOU THINK THE X DIVISION’S SO GREAT, WHY WAIT!? Why not tonight!/ WHY DON’T YOU DO SOMETHING TO HELP THE X DIVISION!/ I’M REALLY RUNNING THINGS, AND I’M GIVING YOU THE CHANCE TO GET IN THE RING TO FIGHT TONIGHT FOR THE X DIVISION TITLE!
Eric - I LIKE IT DO IT DO IT DO IT!
Hogan - YOU KNOW WHO THE CHAMP IS - MR. RATED X, OUR CHAMPION, ABYSS. IS THE HARDCORE LEGEND ALIVE OR IS HE DEAD AND GONE AND HIDING BEHIND THE NETWORK!
Kendrick - GOD IS TALKING THROUGH ME. TELLING US TO GET MOVING. TOWARDS OUR DESTINY! HE SAYS SONS DON’T BE NERVOUS, FOR NO ONE GETS HURT WHILE IN MY SERVICE. YOU ARE THE REPTILIANS WE ARE HERE TO ERADICATE! MY PURPOSE!
Hogan - KENDRICKS, BEFORE YOU SPEW THIS VOMIT, YOU AND YOUR THREE PIMPLES TO GET TO THE BACK! If you got something to say, SAY IT BEFORE I CRUCIFY YOUR ASS!
Kendrick - GIVE ME THE MATCH!
Hogan - YOU WANNA STEP IN FOR THIS NETWORK EXEC AND FIGHT ABYSS!?
Kendrick - IT’S MY PURPSE!
Hogan - Brother, this is gonna be better than taking that blackhead off the pimple in front of me.
Winter - Angelina, the things we dreamed about for centuries will come true. THEY WILL WORSHIP US! AND WORSHIP YOU AS THE QUEEN I ALWAYS KNEW YOU WERE! Things are about to change. We’ll fulfill our promise to each other, are you ready, my love? It’s almost time.
Tenay - Mickie says she’s a fighting champion, but this isn’t a title bout.
Abyss - IT’S NOT ABOUT WEIGHT LIMITS! IT’S ABOUT NO LIMITS!
Tenay - Abyss is the second competitor to become a grand slam champion - only Abyss and AJ have done it.
Tenay - WE HAVE A FIVE STAR MAIN EVENT ON IMPACT WRESTLING - RVD AGAINST KURT ANGLE!
Tenay - THERE’S THE OLE FINGER POKE!
Taz - ERIC YOUNG JUST SWERVED GUNNER!
Jarrett - There’s a method to the madness here.
Tenay - I wanna hear ALL about it.
Jarrett - The grappler’s gonna go down to the striker. It’s like my MMA career when I beat Angle in January.

You know what I think about TNA?

YESTERDAY'S NEWS, OOH YEAH.

I thought that this week's Impact was one of the best wrestling shows I've seen in a few years. *shrug*

I'll have to give Impact a view, this week. Now, I have watched Tommy Dreamer in TNA/Impact/That Company. Has he always worn the Regal-type vest-otard, or did I just forget that he did?

In all honesty, I'm interested to see Ken Anderson as Surfer Sting.

Oh, and more importantly:

Here we go again! I'm hyped! :D
I thought that this week's Impact was one of the best wrestling shows I've seen in a few years. *shrug*
I thought it was a really good show as well. Anderson/Disco was good. I liked the ODB/Velvet segment. RVD/Angle was good, if not a bit short. It seems to me the last couple of weeks they have been trying to do better. It's not going to happen overnight.

I still think that the "you really are an asshole", "yeah, it's kinda my thing" line was just hilarious and delivered oh so well. Anderson may be annoying and uninteresting for the most part, but when he nails his spots he's ridiculously funny. He should be used more as a comedic guy and less of a "get off my lawn" cranky kinda guy.

I may have just been really messed up last night, but the ODB/Velvet feud seemed super-hot. Why can't WWE do something similar with their Divas division? The Impact bitches actually seem like they want to kill each other!

The only thing that I LOATHE about Impact is the stupid audience sound effects. Venue filling boos and cheers, yet nobody in the audience is actually clapping, booing, or cheering. Horrible... and painful to watch.
From the press release: "TNA is the #1 wrestling company in the world, and their weekly show, IMPACT WRESTLING, on Spike TV is an especially strong performer with young men. "

I guess they can make that claim legally now since WWE is an entertainment company.
Has this company changed anything since their "Wrestling Matters" campaign started?
Has this company changed anything since their "Wrestling Matters" campaign started?
Unfortunately not. It's still the same dead end street it's always been.

They did have that mildly amusing sit down conversation between Ken Anderson and Disco Inferno. Amusing... yet I don't see how "Wrestling Matters" played into the segment.

I didn't watch it, so I'll ask here... was there an on-air explanation as to why Anderson brought in Disco Inferno for that segment? Was there some era of wrestling where Sting and Disco were close, personal friends that I totally missed?

I just can't figure out why Anderson would dress as Sting and interview Disco Inferno.

The June 6, 2011 issue of TIME features an article on the late Randy Savage written by Vince McMahon. A preview of the article was released:

“It’s important in sports and it’s important in entertainment to stand out. Randy knew that. Right away, he wanted to leave his mark, and to do that he was aware he had to make himself different from everyone else. One way he did this was concentrating on his outfits, those brightly colored costumes with foot-long fringe that became his trademark. He brought to wrestling a unique look and style.

“Randy, who died in a car crash May 20 at age 58, was one of the building blocks of what is now WWE (previously known as the World Wrestling Federation). He had…”

To read the article in its entirety, pick up a copy of TIME at your local newsstand or download the TIME iPad app.

I'm really interested in reading that. Also, Vince uses the word "wrestling".

Part of me still thinks that Vince loves wrestling but he has this notion that it won't sell in 2011. I mean, why else spend years as the president/promoter/boss of the WWE? Surely he could have unloaded it by now if he didn't have an interest in the industry.

If you needed any more proof that Brian Knobs is a piece of shit asshole:

According to multiple accounts, former WWE Tag Team Champion Brian Knobbs mocked Randy Savage's death at a wrestling convention last Friday in Newark, California.

A number of former WWE stars were on hand for Big Time Wrestling's annual Wrestlefest event last Friday at the Newark Pavilion including Bret Hart, Kevin Nash, Sean Waltman, Jim Neidhart, Jerry Sags, Greg Valentine and Jimmy Hart. News of Savage's passing broke Friday and Knobbs was cracking jokes about the deceased wrestler later that day in front of his longtime colleagues.

Waltman, who witnessed Knobbs' mean-spirited behavior, took to Twitter to criticize the Nasty Boys member.

He wrote, "There's no shoot brewing with Knobs. He's just an asshole for making jokes about Randy Savage dying on the same day it happened. He's pathetic."

Waltman also wrote the following to Hulk Hogan, a close friend of Knobbs': "I'm sorry to even bring you into Knobs BS, but he needs to be held accountable for once. You're the only one I know who can do it."

Apparently after seeing Knobbs doing that shit, Bret went over to him and just said "Hey Knobbs, what does Hogan's load taste like?"

I heard X-Pac talking about that the other day on the radio. Brian Knobbs has been on the show a bunch in the past. So they tried to call him to see what he had to say but he didn't answer. I get the impression he's just another fat drunk.

Hogan's going to be at E3 and I'm wondering if I want to take the time to meet him. Likely the only chance I'll ever have. I'm not much of a fan for what he is now, but what he was then is still in my head.
If you needed any more proof that Brian Knobs is a piece of shit asshole:
I pass this every morning, and I think this speaks volumes about the type of person Brian Knobs is.

Not really saying anything original here, but I randomly came across this and it reminded me how exciting established guys jumping promotions and/or debuting could be, and the absence of stuff like this is a big reason why it's nowhere near as exciting as it used to be for me.

Jump to about 5:45 in this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fQPNwfz5f8

This wasn't even a main event or sub-main event level feud - Tazz had already lost his luster (after having a fucking incredible debut himself, now that I think about it) and this was just keeping him busy, and Raven STILL gets a huge reaction when he shows up.

Things are blue instead of red.

SD thoughts -

Loved Danielson-Cody not only having a great TV match, but building up a program as well. I loved how intense Cody was with the crossface chickenwing, and how he's using more of Bob Holly's offense, this time using the hanging gut kick since it furthered Cody once again doing stuff as a reference to his own past without it being a huge deal. Enjoyed Cara-Chavo since we FINALLY saw La Mistica, although it wasn't anywhere near as pretty as it should've been, which I'll blame on Chavo since the move has looked stunning before. Loved Booker's banter with Cole, who really came off like an idiot saying that Chavo wasn't expecting Sin Cara to use high flying. I have no Earthly idea WHAT style he would expect him to use given that Chavo was at ringside for two of his most recent matches, but...yeah, that was just dumb.

Zeke-Slater was a perfectly fine little match and Booker's commentary during it was amusing. Zeke should use the Pounce as a finish - it's perfect given his build and limited skill set. Christian's promo told a nice David vs. Goliath. Very surprised to hear the pube reference during the TV-PG era. Kane-Khali was a nothing match, but I loved the post-match deal. Jinder looks like and carries himself like a main event-level star and I like that now he's got a giant monster as hopefully a bodyguard with some credibility to make him seem like a major act right away. Christian-Sheamus-Henry was good, and I'm looking forward to Orton-Sheamus. Hopefully it's booked better than their past matches that made Sheamus look kind of weak against him. LOLed at a fan in the front row taking a picture with his 3DS.

Screens -

He finally has a belt...but no pants.

DOUBLE GOLD FOR THE MACHO MAN!

Quotes -
Booker - Randy reminds me of what my brother used to say - IF YA WANT SOME, YOU BETTA BE BIG AND BAD ENOUGH TO TAKE SOME!
Orton - My name…is RANDY ORTON! AND I AM STILL THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! Now…(Christian comes out)
Booker - That smile tells a story if ya understand what I’m saying!
Christian - I don’t want to spoil your moment, but I just had to say that Sunday was one of the greatest matches of my career, and yours - I want to say thank you and congratulations. You are the world heavyweight champion and you deserve it.
Orton - But…
Christian - But, even you have to admit that on Sunday, the match could’ve gone either way. But it didn’t - you were the better man that night. But Randy, I know I can beat you! Which is why I’m out here. I’m here to issue a challenge for one more match for the world heavyweight championship! Hey, a guy can ask, right? (Sheamus comes out)
Sheamus - Christian, this is painful to watch. How many chances to ya need? You’re like a gambling addict - you bet your car, double down with your house, and now you’ve lost everything. Now you’re putting the kids’ college fund on the line because THIS TIME IT’LL WORK - and now you’re begging. It took you 17 years to become world champion, and it’ll take you 17 more. YOU’RE A TWO TIME LOSER AND ME, I’M A TWO TIME WWE WWE TITLE. I CAME TO SD TO COMPETE IN EPIC MATCHES WITH ORTON FOR THE WORLD TITLE. I’M THE STAR OF THIS SHOW! If anyone’s gonna be number 1 contender, it’s me! (Henry comes out)
Henry - Allow me to interject some good sense into this conversation. Christian, your buddy Edge is on a retirement golf course and is waiting on ya - don’t miss ya tee time. Sheamus, being the world’s strongest man means ya don’t wait in lines. YOU BUTT IN! Which leads me to you, MR. ORTON! I’ve just butted my way I the front of this line for that championship! (Teddy comes out)
Teddy - Wait a minute… Well, ya see, there seems to be a little bit of déjà vu out here with you guys arguing once again about the world title and who should challenge for it. Now Christian, I’m gonna be honest with ya - for once, I agree with Sheamus and Mark Henry. You’ve had your chance. But, what we say only means so much. What really matters is what the people say! So Christian, you know what I did when I made you defend the title 5 days after you won it? I’ll ask the live audience here tonight…
Booker - HERE WE GO AGAIN!
Teddy - DOES CHRISTIAN DESERVE ONE MORE CHANCE TO FIGHT FOR THE WORLD TITLE!? (cheers) Well, the people have spoken. Christian, you’re not home free yet. IF YOU’RE GONNA GET ONE MORE CHANCE, YOU’RE GONNA EARN IT! Therefore, I’m going to announce our main event - a triple threat match!
Josh - THIS IS HOW YOU KEEP FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN UNPREDICATABLE!
Josh - Sin Cara grew up in the worst part of Mexico and he says that he will represent those who cannot represent themselves. It’s why he chose the name Sin Cara, which means faceless and wise.
Cole - CHAVO TOOK SIN CARA UNDER HIS WING WHEN HE CAME INTO THE UNITED STATES, AND HOW DID SIN CARA REPAY HIM!? BY SLAPPING HIM!
Booker - Same old Michael Cole.
Cole - I’M ALLOWED TO HAVE AN OPNION!
Cole - Chavo wasn’t expecting the high-flying style from Sin Cara.
Booker - I talked to Sin Cara earlier.
Cole - YOU SPEAK SPANISH!?
Booker - Talked to his interpreter. I TOLD HIM ABOUT MY TIME IN Mexico. He’s a huge fan of mine.
Cole - WHAT!?
Booker - Where do you think he’s getting all these moves from?
Cole - Now ya sound like Chavo!
Booker - Put your foot in ya mouth. HAHAHAHAHAHA!
(after La Mistica)Booker - I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO CALL THAT, BUT IT’S SOME SORT OF DDT!
Cole - IT’S THE BAG BOYS!
Josh - They’re here to put bags on the WWE Universe.
Cole - And Booker.
Cody - If I didn’t know better, I’d be convinced there is no God! BECAUSE EVERY TOWN I GO TO, I LITERALLY PRAY THAT I WILL SEE AND EVEN MILDLY ATTRACTIVE FACE AND EVERY TIME I AM DISAPPOINTED! As a service to you and at great expense to me, I am providing you with these paper bags!
Cody - SHUT UP AND BAG YOURSELVES! I SHOULD BE YOUR HERO!
(Danielson comes out)Cole - Speaking of heroes…JUST KIDDING!
Booker - You coulda used one of those bags a few days ago, Cole. HEY MISTER BAGGER!
Cole - Cody’s men should give me a bag so I can throw up in it.
Josh - Daniel is a vegan who doesn’t own or watch TV.
Cole - HE WORKS IN AN INDUSTRY THAT RUNS ON TV! EXPLAIN THAT TO ME!
Booker - He’s eccentric. Bryan’s got a hell of a ground game.
Cole - Daniel Bryan is a great athlete - a former U.S. Champion.
Booker - CODY RHODES TAPPED OUT BEFORE HE EVEN HAD IT LOCKED IN!
Josh - HE WAS 98% INTO THE PROCESS OF LOCKING IT IN!
Booker - I think he knew he’d be in a lot of pain so he tapped out to save himself the pain.
Cole - Why wouldn’t you tap out to avoid injury and further your career?
Booker - IT’S ABOUT MANNING UP!
Ref - Cody, KNOCK IT OFF!
Booker - Zeke’s put together like a Mack Truck. Reminds me of the One Man Gang who was in a faction called Devastation Inc. He is both DEVASTATION INC AND A ONE MAN GANG!
Christian - When I was a little kid, I was the last one picked in kickball - but at the end of the game, I had the most touchdowns of anyone. CKC - CANADIAN KICKBALL CHAMPION! When I was older, I was the last one to get pubic hair - that’s not funny. Actually, it kind of is. And by prom, I had the prettiest girl and in WWE, I was the last guy people thought would be the world champion, but I did it. The odds may be stacked against me, but Captain Charisma will get the last laugh!
Josh - It was a bad week for Kane. The rapture didn’t come, he lost his tag team partner and the tag team title, but he won tonight.
Booker - I wanna invite someone to step into this ring, and that someone is Michael Cole. YEAH, YOU MICHAEL! I just need to talk to you for a second.
Cole - I’m not gonna do this.
Josh - You afraid?
Cole - I’M NOT AFRAID OF ANYTHING. Okay, I’ll go in. YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANTED!
Josh - Some think that Michael Cole is a pompous ass.
Booker - As you all know, he lost the kiss my foot match to Jerry Lawler at Over the Limit. Cole, can ya tell me the best way to get toe jam out? HAHAHAHA! LOOK AT HIM, MICHAEL! YO MIKE, I’m just playing. I’m not gonna let these fans mess with ya and say… KISS MY FEET! KISS MY FEET! HAHAHAHA. Where ya going, dawg!? I was just playing.
Sheamus - Mark Henry’s been here since the Clinton administration and has done NOTHING. One fluke title reign between two guys with a combined career of 43 years. IN MY FIRST YEAR, IT ONLY TOOK ME A FEW MONTHS TO DO WHAT THEY’VE STRIVED FOR THEIR ENTIRE LIVES! THEY NEED BUNDLES OF OPPORTUNITIES, I ONLY NEED ONE!
Cole - WWE.com is reporting that we will hear from Kharms live on Raw!
Booker - Nobody’s heard from Kharma yet, have we!?
Cole - No, it will be very interesting.
Henry - Sheamus said I haven’t been relevant since the Clinton administration.
Striker - Technically, he said you’ve been in WWE since…
Henry - SO I DON’T LISTEN WELL! I’M AN UNDERACHIEVER, AND I’M STUPID! GET OUTTA MY WAY!
Booker - Macho Man, the WM III match between he and Steamboat is what made me get into this business.
Cole - Start waving your pom-poms for Christian, Josh!
Josh - I’m trying to catch a glimpse of Mark Henry.
Cole - CATCH A GLIMPSE!? HE’S THE SIZE OF A HOUSE!
Booker - Sometimes, there’s just that one guy who no matter what, has your number. That’s what’s going on with Christian and Orton.

Hadn't watched SD in a while, but Orton's new beard thing he's doing makes him look less like a gay porn star than usual. Good for him.

Orton's beard is pathetic. I bet it eats him up inside that he can't grow a proper beard like a real man.
I get the impression he's just another fat drunk.
I have seen him a couple of times while out in Clearwater and this assessment is accurate.

I haven't seen that Ask Gary billboard. Where is it at?

I'm not sure where that photo was taken, but I can tell you that I pass one exactly like it on I-64 going into Downtown - Louisville, Kentucky every single morning.

Disco and Sting were in the Wolfpac. On the Raven debut up there, I remember watching one of Ravens shoots. He thinks that he got buried that last run because of his partying with Shane McMahon back in his Johnny Polo days. I think if Raven would have went back to WCW instead of WWF after his 2nd ECW run, he would've got the world belt.

Raven might've gotten a quick run given the lack of roster depth, but it wouldn't have meant anything compared to his hot U.S. title feud with DDP that got them mainstream exposure on MTV and led to him having a huge match that gave Goldberg his first singles title. Also, he left WCW due to being tired of the politics - there's no chance he would've gone back with things being even worse there than when he left.

"--There are rumors going around that it will be announced tomorrow morning of a new WWE signing. It is not a major name star as far as someone a lot of people would know, but it's fairly significant for a number of reasons."

-Dave Meltzer

Speculation is that it's Jay Lethal.
