Now I don't know what to believe! :whee:

Indefinitely?! He's got 3 weeks left! wtf?
I'm just happy they didn't murder the moment by having that part air.
They had Cole get up and say Punk is suspended after the show went off the air.
Only to have Cena come out next week and demand punk not to be suspended so he can get that match and ''defend'' the company he loves and vanquish Punk from the E whats and for all:roll:.
If it was a shoot, they wouldn't have bleeped "douche bag," because they've never bleeped any word accurately in the history of Raw.
WWE has a way of making some good shoot style angles but then it just goes to shit .. lets see what happens
yeeeeeah, maybe. I mean, I agree with you, but the answer is not more "shoots" and "breaking the 4th wall." The idea that the fans care about what goes on behind the scenes is Vince Russo's forte.

What Punk's doing is noteworthy because (1) what he's saying has a degree of the painful truth WWE has long avoided and remain commonly known critiques of the company. He's not bashing something or someone fans don't know, and also (2) it doesn't happen very often in WWE. They're smartly reserved in how often they do this, so that it's more effective when it does happen. Look at the activity in this thread. fuck, I have posted more times tonight here than in seemingly the past month. That says something about how effective it is.

I remain cynical about the long term of the WWE, but I am now paying somewhat attention. Good on them.

Enjoyed the Punk-HBK banter, especially Punk saying "anymore!" to HBK saying he doesn't drink, smoke, or do drugs. Didn't like them teasing HBK-Punk and delivering Punk-Kane, who was able to wrestle on Raw despite this not being a 3 hour show. Match was boring and helped neither guy. So yeah, the first half hour of the show wasn't exactly starting it off strong.Thankfully, Bourne-Sin Cara saved it. Not a four star classic, but a very fast-paced match by WWE standards and was a lot of fun to watch. They put Sin Cara over super-huge and put Bourne over as being about his equal on commentary, although I wish they had a name for the La Mistica bulldog he's been doing as his finisher. Dolph-Kofi was good, and I loved how smoothly Kofi countered a gutbuster into a small package. Kofi won, no title changed hands, oh well - he'll just win it at some other point in their best of 9,000 series. Maryse made her Raw return in glorious return. Alberto had her spin the wheel so he could check out her ass, clearly wanting her on a pole, and then he got all pissed when "steel cage match" came up, and Booker ranted and yeah, this ruled.

Alberto-Show ruled. The match itself was fine, and was heavy on Alberto attacking the leg and had a highspot with a superplex by Show, then Henry tore the cage door down, allowed ADR to win, AND THEN MARK HENRY KNOCKED SHOW THROUGH THE CAGE WITH THE DOOR AND SENT HIM TO THE FLOOR. This looked awesome, got the first holy shit chant on WWE TV in a while, and will be part of the Mark Henry highlight reel for quite some time. Kelly-Nikki in a submission match was hilarious,k and not too bad of a match since it only lasted a couple of minutes. I laughed that Kelly had better luck with a Boston crab here than Jericho did in years. Loved the DDP cameo and hope it leads to something new, like a tag match with Booker against Drew and...Swagger, I guess. HBK did a great job burying the DVD set without actually burying it. Very odd. It's been A DECADE since the company died and Vince still harbors a grudge. Enjoyed the Jarrett/Sting mentions.

Tornado match was very good. It had some awkward parts, like Riley just standing around forever for seemingly no reason leading to...a hiptoss off the top. Looked fine, just seemed a bit underwhelming after all the standing around he did to set it up. Aside from that though, it ruled. Rey was definitely the glue, and the match was much better for it. He kept the pace nice and fast, and the show up until this point was really damn good in-ring. The only real bad part was the opener, as the women's match wasn't long enough to be good or bad. Truth bringing back IS FATBACK GREASY!? ruled. However, because of their past bad matches, I expected this Cena-Truth match to suck. it didn't. The table match was the best one they've ever had. I love that NOW that his feud with Cena is seemingly over, NOW Truth gets a clean-ish win. Even if it was with the help of a SCSA shirt-clad Punk.

Then he cut the best, most real-ish promo in a long-ass time "shooting" on WWE, Vince, politics, Brock, Heyman, and plugging NJPW, ROH, AND Colt Cabana. I loved this. It was just perfect. He managed to not only do something that seemed real, but also manage to make a good case for himself being better than anyone - even Brock. He also logically explained why he hates the fans who cheer him, because they cheer him to have an excuse to bug him at airports at all hours just for an autograph they can sell. Beautiful stuff. Just incredible work here by Punk. And hey, maybe his ROH plug will actually help them out in some way. This was the best ending to a Raw since the Nexus deal, and Punk being so...honest with the promo reminded me a bit of Vince basically admit the product was lame in '97 and it was time to do something new.

HBK - GOSHDARN IT, I MISSED YA! I mean let’s face it, no matter what anybody says, it was each and every one of you that made this guy from Texas the headliner, the showstopper, the main event. MR. WRESTLEMANIA, and Mr. Hall of Fame! One of the things, I don’t wanna imply that I’m just a dude showing up, on that note, one thing that’s bothered me is that those hosts are out to plug something. Punk - He is the champion, HE’S ALSO THE PERSON I BEAT ON RAW 2 WEEKS AGO! MITB PPV, CHICAGO, I’M LEAVING WITH JOHN CENA’S WWE CHAMPIONSHIP! One of the reasons I’m leaving is ALL OF YOU! It really is sad that you’d rather get on your feet for a hall of famer, THE PAST, rather than beg the future to stay!
HBK - At the end of the day, the reason they cheer me is they know I’M BETTER THAN YOU!
Crowd - ONE MORE MATCH! ONE MORE MATCH! ONE MORE MATCH!
Punk - I’m not gonna lie - Shawn, you WERE better than me. The thing is, there’s no one back there who can hold a candle to me. Just like how when you were around, there was no one better than you. WAS THAT A CHALLENGE!? I knew you used to be rebellious. We’re a lot alike…
HBK - We are not alike - we’ve got similarities. We don’t smoke, drink, or do drugs…
Punk - ANYMORE!
HBK - Fair enough, but at the end of the day, you’ve got your style, and I’ve got mine (super kick)

Booker - Bourne and Sin Cara STRAIGHT UP ROCKED IT!
Alberto - Maybe you’ll bring me good luck.

Henry - DON’T EYEBALL ME! I’LL DO WHAT I WANNA DO!
Crowd - HOLY SHIT!
Cole - This has almost become
DDP - The Best of Nitro triple-DVD set is flying off the shelves! And ya know who the host is? IT’S ME, IT’S ME, DDP!
Drew - Booker T and DDP, LEAVE THIS BUILDING WITHIN TEN MINUTES OR YOU’LL BE LEAVING IN TEN MINUTES ON STRETCHERS!
Booker - Ya mind spinning the damn wheel?
Truth - IS FATBACK GRISSY!?
Cole - IS TRUTH WEARING A VERSION OF A STRAIGHTJACKET!?
Punk - Cena, while you lay there, hopefully as uncomfortable as possible. Digest this - before I leave in three weeks with YOUR title, I have a lot of tings I wanna get off my chest. I don’t hate you John, I like you more than most guys in the back. I hate the idea of that you’re the best. Because you’re not - I’M THE BEST. I’M THE BEST IN THE WORLD! THERE’S ONE THING YOU’RE BETTER AT THAN I AM - KISSING VINCE’S ASS! YOU’RE AS GOOD AT IT AS HOGAN WAS! I don’t know if you’re as good as DWAYNE though - he’s a good ass-kisser. Always was and still is. UH OH, I’M BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL. I’M THE BEST WRESTLER IN THE WORLD! I’ve been the best since day one when I walked into this company and I’ve been hated since that day because Paul Heyman saw something in me that no one wanted to admit. I’m a Paul Heyman guy, AND SO IS BROCK LESNAR, AND HE SPLIT JUST LIKE I’M SPLITTING. AND THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ME AND BROCK IS I’M LEAVING WITH THE WWE TITLE! I’ve grabbed so many of Vince’s imaginary brass rings that I’ve realized they’re imaginary. FOR SIX YEARS, I’VE PROVED THAT I’M THE BEST ON THE MIC, IN THE RING, AND ON COMMENTARY. YET, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I PROVE IT, I’M NOT ON YOUR COLLECTOR CUPS, THE PROGRAM, I DON’T GET TO BE IN MOVIES, I’M NOT ON ANY CRAPPY USA SHOWS OR ON THE SIGNATURE AT THE START OF THE SHOW! I’m not on Conan, Fallon, BUT I SHOULD BE. THE FACT THAT DWAYNE IS IN THE MAIN EVENT OF WM AND I’M NOT MAKES ME SICK! Lemme get something straight - those who are cheering me - YOU’RE AS BIG AS PART OF ME LEAVING AS ANYONE, BECAUSE YOU’RE BUYING THE COLLECTOR CUPS AND THEN YOU COME UP TO ME AT 5 AM TO GET AN AUTOGRAPH TO SELL ON EBAY BECAUSE YOU’RE TOO LAZY TO GET A REAL JOB. MAYBE I’LL DEFEND IT IN NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING OR GO BACK TO RING OF HONOR. HEY COLT CABANA, HOW YA DOING? WHEN I’M GONE, YOU’LL STILL PUMP MONEY INTO THIS COMPANY! VINCE WILL MAKE MONEY DESPITE HIMSELF. KNOW WHY VINCE ISN’T A BILLIONAIRE!? BECAUSE HE SURROUNDS HIMSELF WITH YES-MEN AND I’D LIKET O THINK THAT THIS COMPANY IS BETTER WHEN VINCE’S DEAD, BUT IT’LL GET TAKEN OVER BY HIS STUPID DAUGHTER AND SON IN LAW. LEMME TELL YOU A PERSONAL STORY ABOUT VINCE, WE’RE DOING THE BULLY CAMPAIGN…(mic is cut off)

Spoiler:

Punk is out of Money in the Bank, Truth, Mysterio, Del Rio triple threat for the new #1 contentder.

Wait, that can't be right.

I remain cynical about the long term of the WWE, but I am now paying somewhat attention. Good on them.

Same. Depending on how this angle plays out, I would put this segment up there with some of my favorite moments in wrestling.

Punk has been pulled from the PPV now?!

CM Punk's official Facebook fan page is gone
Spoiler:

I like how WWE is trying to make it more believable, they also took down CM Punk's official Facebook page.
Demo, you're going to be pissed that you're missing this. This is, by far, the best Punk promo ever. I think this is some degree of a shoot.

This is fucking amazing

Holy shit. That was the best Raw ending ever, the best Punk promo ever - the best everything ever.

He tore into Cena, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Triple H, Steph, said he hopes WWE might be better when Vince is dead, named NJPW and ROH by name, and waved to Colt Cabana. Holy. Shit.
My Facebook lit up right when the promo was happening so I turned on my HDTV to see what was happening. Yeah it was obviously an scripted/worked shoot but damn you couldn't ask for a better more entertaining one to happen. Especially given that ROH is coming right off of that amazing iPPV they couldn't ask for any better of an advertisement then for Punk to say their name like that.
I like how WWE is trying to make it more believable, they also took down CM Punk's official Facebook page.
So they're giving him the ol' Chris Benoit.

Say it, Punk.
If they even let Punk ALLUDE to Chris Benoit, the top of my fuckin' head will blow off.
Why not? He's on the Nitro DVD. I'm still beaming from him calling Johnny Ace a douchebag yes-man.
Punk's Tweet from about four hours ago:

Take that for what you will.
Cole quoted that tweet on-air. WWE's going to some great lengths to make this all seem legit. Wouldn't be surprised if they do a release angle for him on the site, real name and everything, let him do some indy dates, and then have him come back.

I posted the full version above :)

Some tweets from Colt Cabana

Love Ya @CMPUNK. Just watching you make HISTORY!!! This is soooo fucking amazing...AMAZING!!! #IWantWrestling

Colt Cabana's Trending but @CMPunk should legit trend FOREVER. Coolest thing on wrestling since 1998. Can't believe theyre gonna let'm walk

Should I be taking advantage of this?!? uh...um... coltmerch.com?! art of wrestling on itunes?! ROH, Extra Polar Ice Gum, Diet Coke, Hugs...

Tweet from Joey Styles

Holy crap! I thought I was bad when I was shooting on Vince and the company. OMG! Holy crap!

People are giving WWE way too much credit. It's a work, but there's no way that they approved him shitting on other USA shows in the process.

I will be updating this post with Raw spoilers for next week (they're taping right now for next week)

WWE Raw (Airing July 4th, 2011)

At the start of the show they had a graphic announcing that Rey Mysterio, Alberto Del Rio, and R Truth will be in a Number One Contender Match for the WWE Title at Money In the Bank. They also announced Alex Riley versus Miz.

John Cena comes out for a promo and he mentions that CM Punk has been stripped of his right to challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship in Chicago. He mentions that is why they are going to do the Triple Threat Match to determine a new number one contender. He also says that they are going to treat things as if CM Punk never existed in WWE.

Cena says that he is not happy with the decision and he believes that Punk was saying what he believes in, but he does not agree with Punk. He does agree with Punk’s right to say what he did. Cena says that he wants answers from Vince McMahon and he wants those answers tonight.

John Cena says that he wants to face CM Punk at Money in the Bank.

Match Number One: Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres defeat the Bellas when Kelly pinned one of the Bellas.

R Truth is interviewed in the back by Scott Stanford and Truth says that he already beat John Cena so he shouldn’t have to win a Triple Threat Match tonight to face Cena at Money in the Bank. Truth talks about how there is a conspiracy.

Truth bumps into Alberto Del Rio and Del Rio tells Truth that it is his destiny.

Match Number Two: WWE Tag Team Champions Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga defeated Vladimir Kozlov and Santino Marella when McGillicutty pinned Santino after a neck breaker.

After the match, while everyone was still in the ring, Zack Ryder came out onto the stage and said ‘Woo woo woo you know it’ and left.

Miz was interviewed by Scott Stanford in the back and Miz says that he should be in the number one contender’s match tonight. Miz says that he isn’t in that match because of Alex Riley. Miz says that he brought Riley on Raw and he is going to take him out tonight.

Match Number Three: Jack Swagger over Sergeant Slaughter with the Swagger Bomb. After the match, Swagger puts Slaughter in the ankle lock until Evan Bourne comes to the ring to make the save.

Slaughter leads the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Match Number Four: Alberto Del Rio defeats Rey Mysterio and R Truth with a cross arm breaker on Mysterio to become the new number one contender for the WWE Championship.

WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero come out. Vickie says since it's the birthday of the United States that the United States Champion deserves a birthday party too. Dolph says while he is champion the US title is the only one that matters. Kofi Kingston comes out and says Ziggler can't beat him without Vickie. They brawl and Vickie gets pushed into a cake.

Match Number Five: Alex Riley beat The Miz. The crowd was dead for this match. The fans here aren't buying Riley, who won around 15 minutes in with a backslide when Miz was going for a reverse DDT. Not a bad match, but the fans weren't into it.

After the match, Miz attacked Riley. Miz threw him outside the ring and slammed him into the barricades and stairs. Miz gave Riley a big kick over the announce table and looked emotionally distraught.

John Cena's music played but he didn't come out. It stopped and out came Mr. McMahon to a decent reaction. He said that the C.M. Punk suspension has gotten out of hand and the camera man fixed his tie. He said Punk deserved to be suspended for what he said. He said this was about what was right for the fans. McMahon said he really suspended Punk because he wanted limo service and wanted to be on DVDs and such and he wasn't worthy. He then said he fired Punk because he deserved it and he is a punk.

Cena came out to a big reaction even in his third appearance tonight. He asked Vince if that was it? He accused Vince of kicking Punk to the curb and Vince said Punk kicked himself to the curb. Cena said Vince believes in free speech and Vince confirmed it. Cena then made fun of Vince's walk and said that Vince took everyone down because he's a fighter. He wondered why Vince wasn't a fighter now and said he wants to fight Punk. He said if Vince doesn't feel like fighting, he should hang it up.

Vince said he really suspended Punk because be doesn't want to take a chance on Cena. He doesn't want to risk Cena losing to Punk and losing the title and taking it to another organization. He said he will not be embarrassed. Vince said he's afraid of Cena not beating Punk. Cena said he wanted this match regardless of Punk's status. Cena said if he was a fan, this sounds like the match of the year to him. He asked if Vince would suspend him for saying something Vince didn't like.

Vince told Cena not to piss him off. He said not to be Hogan or any of the guys before him. Vince said he doesn't believe Cena can beat him. Cena said to take a chance and give the people what they want. Vince said he doesn't give a damn what the people want, it's his company and he does what is right for them.

Cena said he gets it. He then said it's not what he signed up for. He said he busts his ass for Vince and he believes the belt stands for something. He said Vince is worried that the belt is meaningless, but by sending Punk away he made it meaningless. Cena handed the belt to Vince and walked out. Vince stopped him and followed him up the ramp. He stood face to face with Cena on the ramp and said Punk is reinstated and he has the match.

Vince said that if Punk walks out of Chicago with the title, he is firing Cena.

I know it was posted that he was suspended, but WWE.com makes it sound like they won't follow up on this at all, that Punk is done.

Monday Night Raw’s abrupt conclusion last night was not due to technical difficulties. The decision to suddenly end the broadcast in that manner was made by WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, who gave this quote to WWE.com:

“CM Punk was suspended indefinitely for his unprofessional conduct as soon as Raw went off the air.”

With his WWE contract expiring on July 17, one can only assume that this suspension effectively terminates CM Punk’s tenure with WWE.

The new number one contender to face John Cena for the title at MitB has been determined. Check the Raw spoilers in my above post.

Indefinitely = Two weeks.

Now that there's an open spot in the MTIB, CM Punk claims it, wins the match, cashes in on John Cena, trashes the spinner. Count on it. Or not because I just made it up.

That was awesome!!! I could totally see CM Punk take a couple of indy dates to play this out, and show up unexpectally for the Money In The Bank match. Seriously for the first time in years, I found myself looking for spoilers for next weeks show. I haven't done that since ECW folded.

I posted spoilers like 4 or 5 posts up.

tl;dr: (boring) business as usual next week

Here's TNA spoilers for this week:

* Samoa Joe beat Devon in what was a Bound For Glory Series match

* Segment with Mr. Anderson and Hulk Hogan. Sting interrupts, hit Hogan with the bat and played the Joker role.

* The returning Low-Ki beat Jimmy Wang Yang and Matt Bentley in a three-way.

* The British Invasion turn face on Mexican America and a match is announced for next week between the two teams.

* Six Knockouts Elimination Tag match ends when Mickie wins for her team of Miss Tessmacher and Tara against Angelina Love, Winter and Madison Rayne.

* AJ Styles and Daniels sign their contract for Destination X. Jerry Lynn came out which brought out Rob Van Dam. A four-way is announced for next week.

* Sting beat Scott Steiner. Bully Ray and Mr. Anderson attacked Sting after the match. This brought out Hulk Hogan to join in. Kurt Angle made the save to end the show.

CM Punk's profile has been removed from WWE.com

This is one time I wish there were no spoilers at all. The mystique of this entire angle would be enough to keep interest going for another week, at least.

Tweets from WWE Magazine (continuing with my CM Punk updates)

(1 hour ago)The mood backstage is...edgy, to put it mildly. @CMPunk is in a meeting with a lot of the people he just called out...

(56 minutes ago) He's still in there...

(42 minutes ago) He's been in here for 25 minutes. And the rumors you're hearing are true. http://yfrog.com/hszwbmoj

(38 minutes ago) these rumors www.wwe.com

HOLY SHIT! That was absolutely awesome, Punk is the man. Best promo in years and the best segment on RAW since the original Nexus showed up

Spoilers fully posted (I think). Heavy spoilers below.

So Punk's reinstated due to Cena threatening to walk out. If Punk wins the title, Cena's fired. If Cena wins the title, nothing happens, Punk will still be gone. Gee. I wonder what'll happen.

Just when you think they'll do something outlandish and shit will be interesting, Super Cena and company to shit all over it

regarding the spoilers:

You know, I've been reading about how Cena's been working hurt...maybe Punk wins, Cena gets fired, and Punk loses to whoever wins the MitB match?

That seems like the most likely scenario. I don't understand though, why did they
have the triple threat match for a #1 contender if they were just going to reinstate Punk later that night?

Tune into REACTION to find out!

That was one of the best things I've seen since I started watching wrestling. Just incredible. Worked shoot or not, who cares. Punk was being completely honest and I was surprised at some of the things they let him say. Just a great segment.

yeah it was a really well done worked shoot.

i think next week's Raw is fine and that's where i expected them to go. I'm just going to continue watching as the buildup has been GREAT.

Re: Next week's spoilers -
I love how they're taunting the smarky fans with the ultimate win-win scenario of Punk taking the title to ROH and Cena being off TV.

That's the first time since I gave up cable that I'm sad I didn't get to see Raw. Best thing WWE has done in years.

I'm still really happy about last night's promo, but after the whole Nexus debacle from last year, I know better than to get my hopes up that anything game-changing will come of this. This worked angle will go on for a few more weeks, MitB will roll around and they have their match, Punk gets some offense in, 10 minutes into the match Cena's merch powers will kicks in, 5 movies engaged, AA, 3-count, rapadoo, back to business as usual.

The wheel in the sky is just gonna keep on fuckin turning.

It is the obvious business move for the WWE and probably the correct one. They are running a business and the fact is our opinions don't matter. Cena will be on top because he makes money, and if anyone on this board was in charge of the company they would come to the same conclusion. With that being said you can take risks on guys like Punk, and I would argue that the WWE has actually given him quite a lot during his tenure. Punk doesn't fit the mold for what the WWE wants (he is not tall, muscle bound etc.) and yet he has been world champion twice and is treated like a big deal. It is obvious that they see something special in Punk and view him as a top heel, otherwise they wouldn't have let him cut that promo last night.

It's not all about who draws money, though. This company has gone out of their way to ignore Zack Ryder. Ryder has gone out of his way, demonstrating a wry wit and a great sense of humor, to build up his persona and "get over." He has dozens of signs each week at Raw, yet he's not on the show at all (to the best of my knowledge). WWE went out of their way to avoid putting him on Raw when they were in Long Island the other week.

So let's not pretend this is a simple equation of promoting guys who draw and not promoting guys who do not. Because that's a fairy tale.

The more I watch Punk's promo, the more I see the brilliance in it. His words flew a million miles per hour, and he used a lot of transition phrases. In doing so, he did not allow the crowd to voice their opinion very loudly during his promo, which seemed to go from mostly boos to half applause at the end. By the time he was cut off, the crowd boooed tremendously. Perhaps they were booing that he was cut off and they wanted to hear more, but the effect was that he was posturing and the crowd was booing - reinforcing him as a heel character. I think it was brilliantly put together.

And he went out of his way to make sure people booed him by calling out the people cheering in the crowd. In 1998 it may have been the norm to get cheers as a heel, but the ultimate goal of a heel is to make sure everyone hates you.
"UPDATE: As of Tuesday, June 28, WWE and CM Punk have reached an agreement that Punk will fulfill his non-televised live event obligations for the remainder of his contract, through July 17. Furthermore, both sides have mutually agreed not to disparage one another."
Thoughts? I'm not sure how I feel about an angle designed to have him suspended still allowing him to work house shows (though it makes sense considering they're embarking on the Australian tour and those tickets have been on sale for months).
