Beat up the Arab American guy looking for equal rights and cheer the Hispanic American guy who lies, cheats and steals?

Hassan should have owned a 7-11.
From that shoot that was in the other thread, Masters seems like a pretty cool guy. Turns out wrestling was his passion ever since his childhood and he got big specifically to make it in the WWE. He's working in different places around the world now because he realizes that he was just picked because of his body and he's trying to learn different things and get more experience. He implied that his release was because of the steroid scandal at the time and that he was actually clean.
He maybe a nice guy but him saying that he was clean at the time of his release is bullshit. When he came back, he was significantly smaller than he was before and than all of the sudden, a few weeks later, he was back to normal.

You can't get like that without juicing.

I put more blame on Vince's mentality that "bigger is better" than I do the athletes who want to appease their boss and get paid.

Regular people can be "superheroes" too.

Masters said he just stopped working out for 2 months, and that he only lost 15 pounds, but because he's so lean it shows more ( his words ). He DID admit to doing steroids, he was saying that he was clean on the days of the tests and was surprised that something that he did a while back showed up.

He also got caught for using pain killers.

It's been MANY months now, why hasn't WWE gotten the hang of broadcasting in HD? It still freezes, audio drops, etc.. maybe it's just Comcast or something, but it always does this. It started out doing it BAD at the opening of Raw, but maybe it's fixed now.

MICHAELS AND JERICHO ARE EXPLODING ON EACH OTHER!!! - Cole rules.

Never4ever, there was a TNA PPV, but Booker didn't win the belt - he just pinned Joe while Sharmell counted 3, although given that Abyss won the title via DQ, maybe that does count as a title win in TNA. Perhaps we'll find out after the results for the Impact tapings get out for Tuesday and Wednesday night.

Myke, I'd say they could release him right now and people would probably never care that he's gone - he's been given a higher profile as a flunky to a main guy, but so have Hawkins and Ryder - they're not putting him in a position where he's going to sell tickets right now, but hoping this role clicks so he can. They really haven't established Cade's new character all that well since he's been overshadowed by everything else on the show, so even if they wanted him to be a draw right now, it wouldn't work - he hasn't done anything to really make people care about him.

Yay, Kane "the Snake"!

LOL - Kofi's pants come down when he comes to save Mickie.

Santino is a pretty big guy.

Cena just shut up.

The members of Cryme Tyme have some big lips.

Cena's usually good on the mic, but DAMN was he ever on tonight. Very believable, passionate promo - a nice change of pace from TNA's melodramatic ones full of fake passion and exposition.

Sign of the night - Santino fears Luigi.

Haha, that Santino/Beth match was short but awesome.

That part where Santino was
stroking Beth's arm after being scared was hilarious.

Hacksaw was released by WWE a month or so ago, allowing him to do part-time work for WWE like this, and do indy dates as well. Cole saying that the WWE divas were the classiest women on TV before Kelly came out in short chaps was fine stuff. "Is he alive or dead?"...maybe it's a reference to the Old Kane - perhaps we'll see him don the mask at some point tonight, or at the PPV.

That's what I was thinking, mask in the bag seems like an obvious choice too.

'Love ya guys, but I'll catch the PST showing instead of discussing it live. I gotta attend to some things. Ugh. x[

Good stuff with Batista and Punk tonight - one simple spinebuster made that an intriguing match, although I thought Batista would've done the move to him on the chair. Given how overboard they're going with PUNK'S THE UNDERDOG THIS SUNDAY!! (yes folks, he's in greater danger of losing to Batista than Mark Henry is of losing to Dreamer), I expect him to retain at the PPV - it'll be interesting to see how though, or if they pull the trigger on a Batista heel turn en route to him winning and Punk chasing him at Summerslam. London running out in sneakers...yeah, not a great look for him. YAY, LIONTAMER!

BTW, the Abrams UWF is back on ESPN Classic - on Sunday mornings at 8 EST.

That promo with DiBiase/Rhodes was pretty good. Glad to see them teaming with JBL. I hope the parking lot brawl isn't just an excuse for JBL to retire again. :(

What was the point of Santino losing to Beth Phoenix? Is RAW that desperately in need of face divas? I know he's pretty much a comedy act, and doesn't need to win matches, but still.

RNN UPDATE!
Hi. Randy Orton here. The good news is that my recovery is well on course. The bad news is that.... well......... I was playing Mario Kart Wii this Saturday. The wheel suddenly slipped out of my hands while playing and dropped to the floor. As I went to pick it up I slipped on an banana peel that I had forgotten I left lying on the floor. As the result.... I was back in the hospital in severe and tramatic career ending... no make that LIFE THREATENING pain. But the good news is that Dr. Andrews says that I'm now at an amazing 9%. Which means soon that the Age Of Orton will return in no time. Please continue to send your Get Well messages to [email protected].

Whoo, gotta write something in here because clicking "subscribe" takes too long.

They used to call that "tagged" until people got upset. :p

Shad and JGG are beasts.

Anybody else notice the emotionless looking goth/ emo chick in the front row? Ghoul of the night?
Why do you even do those "Randy Orton updates"?
Because I swore others in the thread were wanting them done.... but if nobody cares then I'll stop.

Don't you dare stop.

They need to stop making these matches so predictable. I bet that "CTC" will get the win within a minute of Cena getting tagged in.

This outside the arena stuff reminds me of the Vince McMahon limo fiasco.

I don't like the end of Raw....

WHO THE fuck BOOKS THE END OF THE SHOWS???? THEY NEED TO BE FIRED, ASAP! IT'S ALWAYS THE SAME OL HEAD SCRATCHING CRAP.

Pretty interesting show tonight - much better than last week's, although not quite as exciting as two weeks ago when Punk won the belt. It opened off to a hot start with Shane and Steph being offended by things, then Jericho and HBK engaged in a good brawl, leading to Mickie and Katie having an alright match, which then led to Kofi coming out to save Mickie (and deal with a wardrobe malfunction as his pants fell down as he was trying to come off as a serious threat) and having a decent little match with Birchill for the belt.

Santino's challenge was hilarious due to his one-liners before and during the match, and facial expressions as he got his ass kicked by Beth Phoenix (who is seemingly being rebuilt as a face now). The stuff with Kane going insane was built up well, and I enjoyed his match with Punk, who had a better match with Kane than either JBL or (shockingly) Snitsky, who had quite a trucker's tan and gut tonight. The little burlap sack is an interesting new prop for Kane - I imagine it's either got his mask in it, and the person he's wondering is alive or dead is the monster within him.

Excellent promo work by Cena tonight regarding his match with JBL at the Bash, and I loved having the tag champs team with JBL - a perfectly logical move given their gimmick, and it allows for more six-man tags between the warring factions.

Noble was once again funny tonight wanting to be in a power couple, only to get his ass kicked by Snitsky. The main event was good, and had an incredibly hot crowd throughout that helped it a lot. I couldn't believe how hot they were for Cena tonight - his reactions have cooled since returning, but it felt like old times (early-'07) here tonight, with the crowd chanting wildly for him - only there wasn't much of an anti-Cena crowd chant tonight.

Very odd show-closing thing with JBL and Cena - while the idea of JBL smashing Cena's body into smitherines with a car is somewhat amusing, it came off as a bit too far-fetched to have Cena just magically disappear when the car hit. At least they didn't have the announcers yelling at the top of their lungs at what they'd just seen - the silence here allowed it to be an eerie segment, which worked in its favor.

While the show-ending deal didn't do much to make me want to see JBL-Cena at the Bash (especially with there already being a mystery-style angle ongoing), everything else they did for it tonight did. They also did a good job of building up Punk-Batista, and if they want to, Cryme Tyme vs. DiBiase/Rhodes would be a good, logical addition to that show's card as well. I was left with more of a desire to see the Bash after seeing this show, which is a good thing, although WWE should've done more to build up Punk-Batista. I liked that they had Batista attack Punk tonight, but do so in a completely justified manner, as it was enough of a heel turn tease to get me excited about it, but not enough of one to turn more fans against Batista.

ANYTHING GOES, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN! You will not find out who the best athlete is, we will found out if bones can be broken on concrete, if flesh can be shredded after going through pane after pane of glass! Todd, your question shouldn’t be what’s this match about, it should be why I’d ever accept such a challenge - it’s no breaking news, JBL, I DON’T LIKE YOU! You don’t like me, we got history, we go back to WM 21 - I know about that one! If we were to draw guns one more time, it’s only right if it happens at the Great American Bash, because you lousy Texas transplant, you consider yourself a great American and it makes me sick! So it makes me happy that I’ll pick up the body of a great American and bash his body and break some bones! I WILL TAKE GREAT PLEASURE IN PUTTING A CAR DOOR OVER MY HEAD AND SEEING A GREAT AMERICAN’S EYES COWER IN FEAR! You go find any two partners you want, and tonight, if ya got a pair, you’ll meet us in a wrestling ring for a six-man tag team match! You know, I ain’t said this in a long time, but tonight, I mean it - if you want some, COME GET SOME!
Santino - I’m very curious, let’s see who has the canoles to accept my challenge! Whoever it is, they’re death meat!

Lawler - Santino’s an embarrassment to his gender.
Cole - We’re on Raw - the home o the classiest and most beautiful women on TV! (Kelly comes out with her ass hanging out in shorts)
DiBiase - Kelly, we don’t, what’s the word? CARE that you’ve got a match. Leave. Go on.
Cody - Now then, lately Ted and I received undue criticism - people say we’re bad - we’re not, we’re realistic. We’re not our fathers - we’re better. We became world tag team champions in under a month of being partners…
DiBiase - And in 10 years, we’ll just be entering our primes. You can’t put a price on that. We are the future…(Duggan comes out)
Duggan - You know fellas, I came out here to talk to you from the heart - I’ve known you since you were kids. I know your dads, I tamed up with Dusty, and I competed against Ted DiBiase - they’re like me, old-school! But unlike you fellas, we always respected the people that paved the way. You know, Cody, you’re very talented. And as performers, you guys are at a whole ‘nother level, but as people, you got a lot of growing up to do.
Cody - Jim, let’s talk about this - you make some valid points. When you say grow up , yes, that could apply to Ted and I, but I think of a past his prime 54 year old man coming out in gym shorts trying to relive his glory days. Jim, they weren’t all that interesting to begin with.
DiBiase - I think of something Stone Cold said - unless you think you have what it takes to be a champion, you shouldn’t be in the WWE. Jim, do you think you have what it takes to win a title? Look at you - you still carry around the same 2X4 you did 24 years ago, and say the same chants you did, begging for a reaction (crowd yells “ho”) It’s pathetic - you’re pathetic. If anyone needs to grow up, it’s you.
JBL - Gentlemen, very impressive - you don’t have to pay any dues, which is why I’m giving you the opportunity to main event Raw and team with me and face Cena and his two thugs. I’m offering you the opportunity of a lifetime, it’s your call.
Cole - Which world champion is in the most jeopardy heading into the Great American Bash? Punk, HHH, or Mark Henry?
Cole - I’M SORRY KING, BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS MANIAC IS GONNA DO!? IT’S LIKE KANE IS STRUGGLING INSIDE HIS MIND! Superstars have said that he’s got a Jekyll/Hyde personality going on for the past week!
Cole - Last week, Cena and Cryme Tyme pimped JBL’s ride!
(as Jericho chokes London on the ropes)King - COME ON REF, GET HIM OFF!
Jericho - Paul London, take this loss and use it to your advantage - you can follow Jericho’s road, or you can follow Shawn Micchaels’ road that leads to cowardice. MAKE YOUR CHOICE WISELY! If you follow my path, you can become a legend, or you can follow Michaels’ path, which leads to nothing but disgrace and pain - SO MUCH PAIN! (Michaels comes out)
HBK - By now, Chris Jericho, everybody knows I can’t change your mind, and I can assure you that you will never change mine! You believe you have taken the path of righteousness and truth? I say you don’t know the meaning of those two words. But there is one thing we do agree on - this Sunday, at the Bash, the worst is truly yet to come!
Noble - Layla, you can I could be Raw’s power couple!
Layla - I don’t date short men.
Noble - I’m not short - google it - five foot six is way above average! Next guy I see, I’m gonna challenge him out in the ring! SNITSKY, YOU’RE ON A ONE WAY PAIN TRAIN TO NOBLE’S VILLE! I’M THE MAN ON MONDAY NIGHTS!
Cole - Tonight, it’s Wall Street versus the Block!
Cole - The acronym CTC stands for Cryme Tyme and Cena.
Cole - Shad Gaspard, the muscle for Cryme Tyme - former bodyguard for the likes of Mike Tyson!
Cole - Cryme Tyme told me that they don’t like JBL because of the way he came into their city of New York and took over.
Crowd - CENA! CENA! CENA! CENA!
Cole - LOOK AT THE POUND AND GROUND ATTACK OF JOHN CENA!

Re: Carlito's new look - I dig the new hair - Carlito's whole act has been stale for a while - perhaps this visual change will lead to a larger, more eventful change that leads him back up the card in a meaningful role in WWE. It's certainly a move that gets him away from being a fro-centric caricature like he's been for a few years, where the hair has overshadowed his potential and natural talent.

So, apparently Batista squashed Punk in the Raw dark match. Like, under a minute squashed.

... which brings me to my biggest issue with Raw, outside of that ridiculous ending.

This is the World Heavyweight Championship. I don't care who has it, it's a belt, and for Raw it's THE belt. I realize that we're lacking a compelling storyline, but THE belt should be defended in the main event spot. This namby-pamby 10 o'clock shit doesn't work for me. That, and let's see... we've got a young, agile champion, and we're throwing guys like JBL, Snitsky, Kane, and Batista at him? HBK barely pulls good matches out of these guys, and yet we're expecting people to care when they're against Punk? There's no hope there. I was excited when Punk won the strap, but this is becoming increasingly frustrating. If they want someone to get over, they need to PUSH THEM and LET THEM get over. I'm sorry, but taking on guys like Kane and Snitsky halfway through Raw isn't helping anything, guys.

Related note: Snitsky and Noble is around the tail end of Raw? Are you fucking kidding me? AFTER the WHC match? fuck off. No, seriously, fuck off.

I get that it's about the 'money' match-ups, but I really dislike that Cena/JBL is the focal point of Raw. Not the WHC, not the IC title, not even the actually ok Jericho/HBK feud... no, it's the incredibly drawn-out and boring Cena/JBL thing. I love JBL, I really do, but the man shouldn't be the focal point of Raw right now, especially in a warmed over feud that seems to exist only because A) they didn't know what to do with Cena if he wasn't chasing the belt, B) they had no main event heels left (whoops, guys?) and C) Cryme Tyme gets pops, but has never actually had a storyline... like, ever.

I don't know... it's just, it works both ways. The guy should elevate the belt, and the belt should elevate the guy. Since Punk wasn't ready, instead of MAKING him important BECAUSE of the belt, they're allowing the belt to get dragged down because of Punk. If he doesn't get a clean win over Batista, I'm ready to pretty much just write this off.

... oh, and CTC standing for 'Cryme Tyme-Cena Nation' is fucking stupid. I'm hoping that was just something that Cena did off-the-cuff at a house show and not the official thing. I mean, the abbreviation is sort of, um, lacking an 'N', right?

Looks like Legends of Wrestling, IMO. Yuck. But, of course, the moment screenshots of Demolition or Razor Ramon show up, I'll preorder it - I'm a mark like that.

EDIT: Also, those foam Hulkamania hands should be scaled down a touch. They're the size of humans.
It does look a lot like Legends of Wrestling. The smooth style looks weirder in HiDef than it did before. The developers said they were going to create a new engine for the game. I'm wondering if they're just going to polish-up the Legends of Wrestling engine. Hmm...

I agree. CM Punk, the World Heavyweight champion, wrestling, and losing, a dark match just reeks of disrespect to CM Punk.

I did like how WWE handled DiBiase, Jr. and Cody Rhodes. I'm sure Dusty booking and DiBiase being DiBiase helps matters. It's a shame Punk doesn't seem to have such help.

And I could have sworn I heard Michael Cole refer to John Cena and Cryme Tyme as "The Block." I think.

Oh, and the ending was terrible. It was too drawn out, lackluster, and ridiculous.

Last edited by a moderator:
I also think Punk as champion was handled ridiculously. CM Punk was doing just fine in that match with Kane, IMO. Looked like they were trying to show his strengths, but then they end it on a count out. I'm trying to figure out why they'd even move him to RAW if no one is getting over for this shit. It's not like anyone's going to give a shit that Batista sqaushes Punk because they make him look like such a fuckin' chickenshit. I'm thinking that they did this specifically to bury Punk.

Also, WWE RAW and SNME are coming to the Verizion Center, yo ( and I live in the DC Metro area ). Wish I could go.
So Cena's dead now?
No, apparently Cena can survive being hit by a car now and will good to go for his match sunday(according to WWE.com) :bs:.

As for the bag Kane had, the shape of it did look like the mask. Maybe they'll do something like Mr. Hyde(like they mentioned last night), where when he puts the mask on, he's a entirely different personality? Question is, which one will it be? The original one or the "stitched together" one with the mouth area cut out(the last one he had).

I suspect it'll be a new design that'll cover up his bald head.

Going back to the old mask will get...old...quick. Like the DX reunion. Nostalgia's great, but the high is short-lived.
