Well in FFXII they have two modes, wait and active. Wait being that when you access your battle menu it pauses the battle. Active is like FFXI in that you don't have that wait time the monster continues to hit you while you access your menu.

[quote name='Zenithian Legend']That's a strange semi-double post there Mox-n-sox[/QUOTE]
It's a

double post.

And here I thought the whole Active Dimension Battle system was going to be a radical departure from the standard formula. Didn't past FF games have a similar thing? IIRC, X-2 had an active and wait mode as well. But, its good to know it won't be so different. Change scares me

Pity there's no way to use that cool NINJA graphic without using that word in a derogatory sense. I think just typing in Ninja should bring up the graphic too.

Or you can use the pic address and use the IMG tags around it! :D

[quote name='FriskyTanuki']Sure, the guy posts a pic and he's a racist.[/QUOTE]

The posting of the picture goes to intent, and thanks to the nice little list we have documenting what all of the smilies actually mean, we all know what you mean by Ninja.

Not only did you use it in that fashion, you used it in a rather derisive fashion, rather than the term of endearment that others have used it as.

Hmm. I kind of want to run a search to see how many times you used the term "Night Trap" before it was deprecated. :D

Not completely true... it could be use as a term of endearment in some subcultures, though even when used in that sense it may come of as offensive or insulting to someone.

Haven't played FFX-2 yet, but I believe XII differs with a more freedom in movement during battles, though I haven't tried the demo yet, so Lulu can enlighten or reaffirm my statement.

[quote name='Zenithian Legend']That's because those Taco Bell hot sauce things are the greatest thing since Arby's "Horsey sauce" ;)[/QUOTE]

Ninja = Ninja! Words are fun when they mean what they mean! How was it derisive? Ninja is a compliment, meaning he was quick and agile in double posting. If you feel so strongly that it was racist, then report the post and let the mods take of it. :shipfree:

Then its' rather a bad choice you made, isn't it?
Rather than using the exact same image the filter used to edit out an obscene word, you could have used an image of Naruto, a Ninja Turtle, a Arishikage Ninja from G.I. Joe, Albino Ninja, or any of a myriad of other images.

Without context, you don't come off looking all that innocent in said case. :D

[quote name='Zenithian Legend']Oh come now, all my fillies enjoy my horsey sauce![/QUOTE]

It comes from the horse, of course, of course,

Right, no random battles. But it really does stay true to the Final Fantasy tradition.

In that it has a powerfully effeminate main character, yes.

So you'll actually see the monsters in the field? It's gonna be like XI? :whistle2:s

[quote name='jaykrue']So you'll actually see the monsters in the field? It's gonna be like XI? :whistle2:s[/QUOTE]
Correct. There are aggressive monsters that will attack you when they see you and non-aggressive that you can choose to attack them but the non-aggressive will attack if you are fighting something else.

Also, I've come to two realizations today.

First, I really need to try chestnuts before I die.

And second, that hotty who's the daughter of a model on Food Network....

I figured out what's so wierd about her.

When she smiles, it s so large and so wide and so perfect it's almost cartoonist onn her face. And she does it every five seconds. So as she does the show she constantly looks like this.

Oh, and I'm talking about...

[quote name='Admiral Ackbar']The more I see of "Diddy" on TV the more I see what an absolute asshole he is.[/QUOTE]Why would you do that to yourself? :shame:

Hmmm, I dunno if I'd enjoy it then. Call me an old fart but I like thed ATB system. It was kinda like a rock-paper-scissors kinda thing. But if you're given the option, I 'might' change my mind. :whistle2:k

Do monsters repopulate? Or is it that when you clear an area, the monsters just stay dead?

I'd imagine it's like Chrono Cross. If only I could remember what that's like...

Trying to remember anything about Chrono Cross is hard, because it goes against the illusion that it was a good game we've all subconsciously decided to perpetuate.

I was flipping around and there were hot chicks dancing in midrifs.

I thoiught that would cancel out the diddy factor. then he treated them like shit. And I realized even "diddy" could ruin hot women.

Fcukin' A. I'm a spoiled bitch. I had sushi for the 3rd time this week and I can't stop! I've developed an addiction to eel & yellowtail

Little white girl: No.
Little black boy: It goes all the way to Africa.

I have no idea why, but I found that hilarious.

Oh, yeah, Giada or something...it really is an, um, unique smile.
Like you said though, I think she overuses it.

[quote name='2poor']mmmm sushi. i havent had any in months. sushi boats are the bomb.[/QUOTE]

I feel like that every time I go to my favorite restaurant (which seems to be almost every day now). The chef makes this special sushi I can't find anywhere else so I'm guessin' it's his own creation - spicy tuna with crushed celery wrapped in seaweed with a white tuna sasahimi on top with a touch of sweet unagi sauce. It's so good I never need to dip it in soy sauce. There's another one but I can't remember what was on it.

I liked this one:

Guy: Yo, that Hamburgler's a scary motherfucker, 'cause you never know what the nigga be sayin'. He be all "robble robble robble robble" and shit!

- 23rd & 6th

whenever i used to go i ordered a soft shell crab. theyre so salty, but its the good kind of salty. i should try eel sometime.

so my old roommate used to sing this song:

Big Women! Huh! Yea!
What are they good for?
Absolutely everything!
Uh-huh
Big Women! Huh! Yea!
What are they good for?
Absolutely everything!
Say it again, y'all

Big Women! Huh! Good God!
What are they good for
Absolutely everything
Listen to me

Warmth on a lonely night
And shade when the Sun's too bright

I said, Big Women! Huh!
Good God, y'all
What are they good for
Absolutely everything!

maybe you can sing it too now

[quote name='2poor']whenever i used to go i ordered a soft shell crab. theyre so salty, but its the good kind of salty. i should try eel sometime.[/QUOTE]

The unagi (freshwater eel) is tastier than the anago (saltwater eel)... at least for me. My friends tell me that they can't taste the difference but I can. I guess my palate is more discerning than most. Anyway, if it's good eel, it'll melt in your mouth as if it's disintegrating. But that disintegration only makes you want to eat more as the sweet taste fades with it.

[quote name='2poor']so if i goto a sushi place i should order the unagi? what are some other suggestions?[/QUOTE]

I don't like any of the rubbery textured stuff so if you're similar, stay away from octopus, squid (ika), & shrimp (ebi). I like them... just not raw. Yellowtail is quite good (hamachi) as well as shiro maguro (white tuna). Many places might not have shiro maguro though. They usually have maguro (red tuna) only. I also tend to stay away from the stuff that's 'fishy' in taste so I stay away from red snapper (tai), striped sea bass (suzuki) & mackerel (saba). If you like salty you might like the fishy stuff. You might also like the fish eggs (salmon roe=ikura, flying fish roe=tobiko). For more of a jello-y texture, try scallop(hotategai) or surf clam (hokkigai) although I think the clam is a bit on the rubbery side as well.

[quote name='2poor']i hope i dont sound like a jackass when i order these.[/QUOTE]

No, it makes you look well-informed and sophisticated. If you're worried about offending, check this out:

http://www.thesushibar.com/ssushi_etiquette.shtml

Also, if you're new, ask what the chef recommends and try at least one of his recommendations. Some chefs act like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld but the good ones will take into account your preferences and ask what you like.

EDIT:  Oh yeah, if you WANNA look like a snob, try saying 'O-ma-ka-se' and the chef will then decide what to give you a la Soup Nazi. But I'm finicky so I go [size=-1]'O-ko-no-mi' or my own preferences. [/size]

so its ok to use your fingers to eat sushi? even if everyone at the place is using their chopsticks?
