The NFL 2012-13 Season Thread - Super Bowl XLVII is the Harbaugh Bowl!
Hey Jets fans: Is it Tebow time yet? :D
That's all they are talking about on the radio around here lol. Can't wait to see how hard he gets booed after one of those games where he completes 5 passes...

someone shut up gruden please.....

And whats with these flagrant face mask holding on Urlacher that's allowing Romo all this time in the pocket

Is all that time in the pocket doing the Boys any good?

How loud will the bloodcurdling screams for Tebow be once my Texans go in and mop the floor with the Jets? No Revis, no Holmes, no hope!

Depends on how many Texans fans are there. Some 49ers fans on a 49ers message board were saying that the Niners fans were the ones doing the Tebow chants. The Tebow chants were loudest at the end of the game and the stadium was pretty much empty of Jets fans by the end of the third quarter.

Gruden is so annoying anymore, I really can't stand most of the announcers. It's bad enough i have to listen to the Goose but do i really have to see his fat ass in the back of the endzone all the time. I'm still pissed he belly flopped on Gannon and basically ended the MVP's career.
Wilfork is such a beast.

I was at this game and you could feel this hit from our seats-- the crowd just *gasped* when he got leveled. It was a great tackle but man I would hate to have Donald Jones...

Separately. Holy shit was that the worst half of football I've ever seen. And being a Bills fan you get to see a ton of terrible football. But to implode from a 21-7 lead and lose by that many points. Wow.

This was a huge game for the Rams! I'm very happy because they now have their first winning record since 2006! :whee:

...It's a hell of a lot better watching this Rams team than the 2-14 team from last year...
I think Jeff Fisher has a lot to do with it.
There's that and many of those top round draft picks have seemed to work out. They've worked really hard at building their defense over the years and I think the offensive line is finally somewhat decent. I also think the new rookie running back is pretty good too.

Hopefully they're able to keep it up. I don't think they'll make the playoffs, but so long as they're competitive and continue to be fun to watch I'll be very happy.

Good start to the Browns/Giants game. For all of Osi's talk about Trent not being able to run on them, those were some huge holes he had in the first drive.

Edit: I'm upgrading this to a Great Start with that amazing Josh Gordon TD pass. I don't know when was the last time that they scored two TDs in the first quarter, much less the first two drives of the game.

Fantasy Football is always weird to me, as I have 23 starters and only five of them have won their games (two of which are Chicago's defense), but I'm winning by 49 total points right now. I do love that Yahoo has customized recaps for each week that give you all sorts of stats about why you won/lost that week's match-up.

Chicago's defense is my best draft pick by far even with Drew Brees, Trent Richardson, and a few others. Having a consistently great defense does wonders for my chances to win.

Norv Turner logic: throw the ball at the goal line instead of run.

Also nice to see the return of Brees getting 20 mins in the pocket because of holding.

I don't think I could have believed 2 months ago that this season would begin the way it has:

-Saints without a win in week 5
-Vikings and Bears tied for 1st in NFC North (they were supposed to be tied for last in NFC North...)
-Falcons and Texans undefeated in week 5
-NFC West being a whole ton of where the fuck did all this come from (minus the 49ers who we all expected to shine)
-AFC East being completely up for grabs

This season has been flat out crazy so far.

Wake me up when Falcons play someone that matters, otherwise its the same ol story with them, regular season warriors.

LOL Vick gets about 10 late hits all game long yet this pussy Brees gets knocked down once and draws a flag fuck you nfl.

It really isn't. New York is not going anywhere without Revis, and Buffalo has shown what they're all about the last two weeks. Miami is the only team showing any fight right now.

Meanwhile, the Patriots are a couple bad officiating breaks from being 5-0. I'm not saying they're the best team in the league, but there is still a wide gap in talent between them and the rest of the division.

Barring the most epic collapse i don't see how New England isn't the division champ.

Bills with that 100 mil defense letting everyone dropping 40 on them LOL
LOLJets um just no. Only thing they're good for is the eventually Tebow takeover
Miami not going anywhere.

True, I'm not saying its gonna end this way but the fact that those teams, those teams are that close is absolutely bonkers. I don't doubt at all that the Jets and Bills are gonna fall by the wayside (particularly after their showings this week) but there could be some actual competition between the Dolphins and Patriots. Ultimately, I'm not expecting anyone but the Patriots to win AFC East but still it makes for interesting watching.

yeah I dont see the Patriots losing the division either. Jets have no chance without Revis now, Bills have been awful the last few weeks and I just dont see Miami being able to overtake them.

I guess PIs are just not gonna get called tonight on the Saints.

As if Viewers didn't need proof enough that NFL and these shit ass refs don't want the aints to go down 0-5

And people shitted on the replacement refs?

Well, it was a decent Monday night game and my Texans roll on to 5-0. I was actually pretty surprised with the Jet's D and offensive line. But I guess that's to be expected with Rex Ryan after his team got embarrassed last week.

Next week I envision bad things for Aaron Rodgers. J.J. Watt can't be stopped.

Green Bay just does not look like a super bowl contender this year at all. They were not protecting Rodgers at all.

Last week? They've been struggling all year to protect him. Can't see them being a Super Bowl team. I'm having a hard time seeing them as a playoff team at this point.

Now with Cedric Benson being out for 8 weeks or more and the moderate success they've had running the ball now down the drain, I see Rodgers having to air it out even more. And with the Texans' secondary getting 2 INTs a piece in the last 2 games, things aren't looking to good for GB. God I fucking love watching the Texans. Besides my obvious favoritism, I honestly don't think there's a more balanced team in the NFL.

2 picks vs mark sanchez and matt hasselback, not exactly your pick of the litter starters there lol. not saying rodgers won't throw a pick when they play, but I wouldn't put him in the same breath as the other two.

I know Rodgers is a beast and is ridiculously accurate, but what can he do when you have J.J. Watt and the D-Line deflecting balls and letting teammates make plays off them? Both picks last night were off of deflections.

This is a huge win for the Browns, especially for that defense to bounce back from a horrid game against the Giants to make huge stops and turnovers down the stretch to ensure the win. Joe Haden's return brought stability to the secondary so that they could get much better production today.

Goodness, Green Bay players whine and cry on almost every other play for a flag.
Is there any sport that you actually enjoy watching without complaining about something the players or officials do? Every single sports thread on here has you somewhere in it complaining about the refs blowing calls, about refs calling fouls/penalties on only one team, about players always flopping or players always complaining to the refs. We get it already.

Packers are a bunch of babies though, I will concur on that one.

Well, awesome statement game from the 49ers. I don't understand how you can have that game at home coming off the NFC championship loss last year, and put up an effort like that. Not too mention in the last two games against the Giants the 49er defenders have about 6 INTs they literally let go right off their hands.

I really dont know whether this team is actually for real or just a bullying team.

That one ball that Carlos Rogers dropped was pretty awful. Manning and Cruz clearly had mixed signals, and Manning put the ball right into Rodgers' chest.
