The NHL 2007 Playoffs Thread - 2007 Stanley Cup Champions: Anaheim Ducks

Oh wow, how bout that... the Wings actually squeeked one in. Kinda pathetic how desperate they played, reminded me of the Cansucks. lolz

I'm gonna laugh when Detroit goes back to San Jose, Holmstrom comes back and the Wings go up in the series. Reading about Viptwat crying will be excellent.

Yet, EVERY espn analyst picked San Jose to win... what's up with that?

I honestly feel that the hockey world has labled Detroit as the underdog in this series. It's like 1997-2002 never even happened!

:shrugs: dunno... I'm used to not getting any respect here but at the same time if I was from a "real" hockey town I'd laugh too.
I don't mind the Sharks, really. I just like giving people shit :p
Ya und me too!

It's like Morbid & ZL vs VIP & Ram

The sad part is once this is over, one of our teams will be gone, and there's no one right now pulling for the Ducks.

That's because people wouldn't dare want to be called gay. lol Why do you think the Ducks changed their colors and went with an unrecognizable logo?

Speaking of those retards... did you see the wannabe Hos... ahem I mean Cheerleaders clearing the ice? Wow, are they that desperate for fans?

yeah, after this series the thread is going to die down.... if it comes down to wings ducks, well as bitter as ill be about the wings winning i fucking hate the ducks, so ill join in with you guys... but i think the series will be different in san jose, the crowd at the shark tank is always crazy, and we actually sell out

if it's San Jose and Anaheim you have the added in-state rivalry going. That series would be quite interesting, which is one of the reasons I wanted to see it happen in this round, and Detroit vs San Jose in the WCF.

I'd laugh if Vancouver ended up winning against Anaheim, after everyone has written them off.

One thing is for sure, both Game 3's should be very entertaining.

ive always thought that the road to the cup goes through anaheim, watching san jose play all year... well... to put it bluntly... we were owned by anaheim in the regular season. so ive pretty much waited for the matchup, whether or not we see it is another story. regardless of who wins i think the west will take the cup.

I'd never count out Jersey... apparently their goalie is pretty good at winning Stanley Cups

Seriously though, I'd say 6 of the 8 teams remaining have a good shot. Buffalo has been one of the favorites all year and they won the President's Trophy. Although, when you think about that, it isn't so great. I mean look at who our President it! Ottawa obviously has a good shot too, building upon the experience they gained last year.

The only 2 teams that I'd say have really no chance in hell of hoisting the cup are Vancouver and New York of course.

Yeah, I guess I was being a little too hopeful and unrealistic. I wanted my teams to win but it just isn't going to happen that way even though it would've been nice.

lol..the ESPN analysists know NOTHING about hockey

through the season the only time i even heard anything about the NHL was when sid the kid had a hatrick and 2 assists, or there was a fight. At least thats how it was here in the states.
You know he's right, guys like Barry Melrose, no hockey knowledge at all .

... get outta here ya schmuck.
maybe he can take VIPs crown
maybe he can take VIPs crown
I dunno... that'd be tricky. VIP is at least a hockey fan. I do like this guy's username though

 I love how someone who's played hockey, coached hockey, and analyzes the sport for a living...has no hockey knowledge!

Hell, he played for the Wings, I can't hate Melrose

Well... I've decided I'd like the Rangers to win. If everyone else is gonna have a long series then they should too. Otherwise, the team playing next won't have much of a chance. Besides, nothing has gone right this weekend. Good thing I don't bet on Hockey. xD

edit: Finally... Geez. Good, now were all even for the most part.
Wish granted.
Buffalo's goalie Miller is a fucking beast and I would rank him up there as one of the best goalies in the game for 2007. Hell even in NHL2k7 he is a beast blocking most of my shots lol. If it wasn't for him I would say the Rangers would be up 2-1 in the series easily.

I had more problems with Kippers and Kari Lehtonen in 2K7 then Miller
Sadly... for some reason I like playing EA's crap (NHL 07) more than 2K7. I'm thinking of getting rid of it.
Well hopefully online is better in NHL 08 (See CAGHL, It's fucking great with NHL2k7)

How does online work for NHL 07? I'm not much for going online plus the fact I'm not gold too. Anyway, I'd be fine with single player but NHL 07 is fucking buggy or something. See here for more details why.

Oh man! Oh man! Alright Sharks! Alright Sens!

I didn't follow that... Datsyuk came damn close to tying it right at the end of the game too. Very disappointing on this end, Detroit could've regained home ice, now game 4 is must win.

As far as I know It's simple one on one and even more glitchy then 2k7 is. Look at the CAGHL and tell me a league doesn't make a huge amount of difference online? Because it does. Stats are very well done on 2k's part, you get everything from PM to SOG, and you can set it where everyone has to play one game a week, etc. As long as the CAGHL exists I'll be buying 2k whatever for the 360/720 every year.

Anyways back on topic. Great job for the Senators, maybe this will finally be their year.
I don't know about you Ramstoria but it's bittersweet having Drew back. I miss him deeply.
yeah, i like randy, but drew is so much better. i wish the cbc didnt take him away from us. ah well. if was funny, they mentioned drinking games and hooters... randy and marty never talk like that. i recently saw a cbc broadcast and drew was talking about "his sharks" glad to see hes still rootin for us

on sportcenter last night they said that 73% of the time the team that takes a 2-1 lead wins the series. but i wouldnt count the wings out if it was 3-1.

Wow, both great games last night. Sens/Devils game was *tight*, both goalies were on top of their game (Emery at least after the first period.)

Hopefully the Rangers can win tonight, if for no other reason than to extend the lenghth of the playoffs and because the Sabres fans that came to Columbus were less than classy. A lot less.
Sabres over Rangers in 7? lolz you mean 4 right?
Time to eat those words. Rangers played well, and our goalie shined. Jagr 4 prez. We are giving the #1 team in the NHL a run for their money. Should be interesting from here on.

 Damn straight, laugh at me for picking that series to go 7 games. Who's laughing now?
