The Ninth Annual CAG March Madness Contest - Georgetown Destroyed All Of Our Brackets

Been in the top 10 in the standings for the majority of things. It looks like the prospective Duke v MSU matchup is gonna be a very big one (If Duke takes care of business tonight). I still like Louisville to take it all, but I was impressed by Kansas' ability to come back and play some solid ball after going down by 11 multiple times against UNC, and Indiana is no joke either
So long Ole Miss and congrats La Salle!

IL has lots of fight in them!
Good riddance to Ole Miss. Rooting for Illinois now!

I was really hoping Illinois would take down Miami. That was one of those that I needed to pick up some points on. The earlier post mentioning that the Duke vs MSU matchup is key to separating our pool was spot on. That one will really help/hurt a lot of us. Great opening weekend for the tournament this year! Let's hope it keeps up this level of excitement.

Yeah, my bracket is awful but I can actually still win if I get the final four and champion correct, I think. Very low odds of that, of course.

Miami losing didn't actually drop me at all from #2. If the rest of my picks win tonight and Wichita State loses, that'll put me on top for tonight at least.

Luckily there have been so many upset that i think a lot of people's brackets are awful. Its been fun so far but I'm already dreading the week's wait after tomorrow's games

looks like if

lou and kansas in the final and LOU wins it all i wil take 3rd or better no matter who wins (if duke wins i take 3rd if duke loses i take first)

Ugh, I had Miami in the championship game. Apparently I can still come in second if everything goes the right way, though. I love that scenario generator.
back up to 4th.....

shit just think if indiana won would of had all BIG TEN teams in the final 4
Well ,if MSU beats Duke, then Lous, Ohio St beats Wichita St, Kansas beats Florida, and Indy then beats Marquette (after surviving Syr), so theres still some ways to go.

But best I can do is 2nd place (behind you Slidecage) and that would be if the favorites win, plus MSU beats Duke and Lous wins it all over Kansas

 Haven't checked my bracket since it started.

While I had a nearly perfect Midwest region (only 2 missed), I had Miami winning the whole thing. So, yeah, I'm hosed. Only 2 of my Final Four are still around... (My other one was Gonzaga - d'oh!)
Congrats TSUN! Moving onto the Elite 8 for the first time since the Fab 5. So, I guess the B1G was pretty tough this year.
It sure was, it was great watching Sir Charles backtracking on his earlier statements of the Big Ten being an overrated conference a few days ago.

It's crazy to think that if Michigan and Ohio each win two more games they would face each other for the championship. I'm sure many a fan from both sides imagined it as a possibility when the brackets were drawn up but the fact that it could actually happen is pretty cool due to the fact that it is the greatest rivalry in all of sports. (At least we Wolverines and Buckeyes think so anyway.;))

EDIT: I live in Atlanta so it will be hard not to sell my blood/plasma/body fluids to not buy a ticket if a UofM vs Ohio title game actually came to pass!

Might be a great rivalry for you, but it will be a snore-fest for many of the rest of us. I know I wouldn't bother watching that. But then my interest in the NCAA tourney usually wanes as it gets towards the Elite 8 / Final Four. I find all the early-round upsets and drama much more interesting. I couldn't even tell you who won last year.

Edit: Oh yeah, Kentucky. And I probably only recalled that because of all the hype about them not making this year's tourney (and then getting bounced in the first round of the NIT).

Ah yes Sir Charles eating his words is glorious.

It is crazy to think that. However, it could happen and it would be quite a game!

I remember the game in Ann Arbor earlier this year. That was an instant classic sans the result (for me at least). If I had the means I would definitely go!

Somebody tell Frisky to clean his PM box. I have prizes to offer and no way to PM him/her.

Try again.
I sadly still have a chance!
DUDE. No kidding. I was sure my bracket was toast and I just checked mine. How the hell do I have the #1 rank right now? It surely can't be for long!

Yeah, I just went from 21st to 2nd... but if Ohio State loses, I'm toast! Let's go Bucks, comeback time!

Edit: DAMMIT... DAMMIT ALL TO HELL!

Holy cow! I was starting to think that the Bucks were actually gonna' pull it out against Wichita St. The Shockers defense and rebounding looked great until the wheels started to come off. At least it turned out to be a close contest unlike the day's first game. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's games and am hoping for some solid play in both.

fuck

It was a good season and I honestly thought the team overachieved.

The future looks bright for this team. They will learn from this game.

Congrats to Wichita State they definitely deserved the win. Best of luck to them the rest of the way!
anyone watch the DUKE game and watch that dudes leg snap in half with the bone popping out of the skin.. did they show it or go to break
They showed it about 30 seconds after it happened, which they probably shouldn't have done. It was gruesome.

waits for the millions of UTUBE videos of it to show LOL

I forgot basketball was even on today. I guess I missed something there ;).

That's a pretty damn rare injury for basketball. Wow...

That leg injury was off the charts scary, I've never seen anything like it in a basketball game. Louisville sure locked the manacles down on Duke in that second half, their defense was simply stifling! Once it became clear that the Blue Devils were not going to be able to connect from beyond the three point line it was over.

As for our little bracket contest, it looks like moleman has the win all but locked up. There are only eight possible outcomes remaining for the tournament and the moleman's bracket entry takes first place in six of them, second on one, and fourth in the final scenario. Let me be the first to congratulate you on a well picked bracket moleman, getting 75% of the final four correct is impressive.

Personally, I only have two of the eight scenarios landing me third place and another that nets me second. More importantly though, Michigan is still rolling. Go Blue! :D

Here are the winning scenarios:

If Louisville beats Wichita St. and then wins the title game:

1. moleman
2. eLefAdEr
3. yakboy86

If Louisville beats Wichita St., Michigan beats Syracuse, and Michigan beats Louisville:

1. combatrhombus
2. moleman
3. chuckie88

If Louisville beats Wichita St., Syracuse beats Michigan, and Syracuse beats Louisville:

1. moleman
2. NastyNin9
3. Pasty

And I'm in none of them. Oh well, I made a helluva comeback going from 68th to currently 3rd in a week.

I believe winners listed in the outcome where Wichita St. beats Louisville, Michigan beats Syracuse, and Wichita St. beats Michigan are incorrect.

Unless I'm somehow doing or reading the scenario generator wrong (which is entirely possible), the winners would be:

1. moleman
2. combatrhombus
3. chuckie88

Not trying to split hairs or anything, I only noticed because it's one of the options that includes me. Great job running the contest Frisky! :applause:
