Shit. if you ever find yourself stuck in south Georgia (which I hope you never do), you can still see people dressing like that. Course, most of them still think it IS 1988...

As for my nostalgia:
1. Ecto Cooler Hi-C. Man that shit was good, though i will admit that i probably only liked it because it was Ghostbusters-related...

2. Release of SMB2. I was like 13 or so, and I had my mom drive me to a half dozen stores to find it. This was before stores took pre-orders on games, but i finally found a ma & pa rental place (this was before BB ruled the rental market with an iron fist) that agreed to sell me one of their copies.

Heh, just remembered the Crash test dummy commercials. Those guys take way too much punishment, I feel sorry for them.

Also about the Ecto Cooler Hi-C, HELL YEAH! I remember that stuff, had a picture of slimer on the front of the box, tasted great.
 
Oh yeah, POGs were great, I used to collect them. You used to have to buy these metal sort of pogs, and slam them or flip them and see how many you could do at one time or something. I used to love the old Double Dare show too, and that show... I forget what it was called but it was on Nick, and people would have to guess at something... What Would You do?? Plus the cartoons, Ren and Stimpy was good (I still say Inspector Gadget ruled even though no one's heard of it on here :))

And the old coca-cola polar bear commercials :cry:

Those were the best commercials ever. They should bring them back...
 
For TV shows I say, What Would You Do? that used to air on Nickleodeon. Had kids doing crazy stuff. woo!

Also, there was a show that had a Golden Weiner (read: hotdog) as the prize/trophy. Anyone know what that was? Weinerville or something... I can't remember.

In other news.
Yo-Yo's made a comeback for awhile. I thought I was the sh1t doing walk the dog. Then kids come out with crazy split the atom and spin the world or something trick where the yo-yo flys all over the place and it looks cool and stuff. yeah. I didn't feel so cool after I saw that.

Oh, I just seem to be full of memories today! Captain Bucky O'Hare, the green bunny from outer space. Had a crazy cartoon and a game on the NES. I always felt he was the inspiration for one of my favorite PC shooters, Jazz Jackrabbit!

I loved the NOID, I never figured out what he did, but there use to be a nes game where he ran around beating up all these other noids in a pizza card game, man nes was awsome!
 
The Simpsons, back when it first came out. I think that I've still got the old Burger King happy meal toys and dolls, and one or two of the bootleg t-shirts that were everywhere.

I'm going to limit myself to one memory per post...just so other people can bring things up too. :)

When you see the animated shor Boundin before The Incredibles, it features a Jackalope. And Dave Cooley(SP?) from full house is funny:)

Hey all,

I just had to post here because I am SUCH a nostalgic gamer. Some of these postings brought back memories I didn't realize I'd had. Like, I totally forgot about the Jack-a-lope from AFV. That was a pretty funny skit--in the same style as the 'ol Benny Hill re-runs. Oh and pogs--I still have some Simpsons pogs that I picked up, never played, though. And, sort of like pogs, do you guys remember the Slurpee coins that came embedded on the bottom of your Slurpee cup? The ones with the lenticular photos (and even rudimentary animation!) of baseball stars or rock groups. What about random collectible cards like E.T. the Empire Strikes Back and the Goonies? Man I used to love riding my bike to 7-11!

Speaking of 7-11, remember when convenience stores tried to cash in on the arcade craze back in the day? I used to go to different stores just to play their arcade games (like Rush'N'Attack and Ghouls and Ghosts).

Shoot, I reminisce over the decreasing importance of arcades. I fondly remember walking in with a crisp $5 bill and walking out with a slightly sweaty forehead and a smile on my face after playing such hits as the 4-player TMNT and Simpsons games, or the co-operative hijinks of Knights of the Round, Golden Axe, heck even Double Dragon and Gauntlet if you want to take it back. What about Bad Dudes, Combat Tribes, and Crime Fighters? Man, I miss Data East--R.I.P. Ikari Warriors.

Alright--here's something more for you guys: How about the Muppets (when they were good--Jim Henson R.I.P.), Labrynth, The Dark Crystal, Fraggle Rock, Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas? The old Transformers and He-Man cartoons? Drive-In Movies (I know that's a staple of the 50's, but we still had some around in the early to late 80s)? The Last Starfighter movie--man I used to love that one!

Remember the Pac-man cartoon? What about Thundar The Barbarian or the Dungeons & Dragons 'toon? Spiderman and His Amazing Friends. Superfriends (Eneck Chop)! I used to absolutely love The Real Ghostbusters. For you Star Wars fans what about Droids and the two live-action Ewok movies? Do you remember the cereal C-3PO's? And I can't forget the anime stuff like G-Force and Voltron. Some forgettable toons that I can remember (strangely) were: Teen Wolf, Rubie The Rubick's Cube, and Punky Brewster's Cartoon, The Shirt Tails, Galaxy High. Also, remember Land of the Lost?

I loved POGs, I had a Shaq POG board, might still have it. I had tons of those, but haven't touched them in a long time.

Ok, I do remember Godlen Axe at Meijers when I was younger and some arcade star wars fun at a local 7-11. I used to play the arcades at the movie theatres also... rad mobile by sega that was a sweet game back then.

The Last Starfighter.... Why has that not become a video game? I mean the whole movie was about the video game.... I used to love that movie.

Punky Brewster that was in 1985 or so when the Challenger went up. They had a special show on it.

What about the A-Team and Macgyver....

As many people that hate it Rescue Rangers and Duck Tales were both watched after grade school.

What the heck was that show about that little kid with the big head and he road a three wheeler. It had a real person in part of the show then went ...

Nevermind Bobbys world or whatever.

Golden Axe was awesome. For a decent period of time, every single quarter I could get my hands on went into that machine. Definitely my favorite arcade game of all time.
