The Office - Season 4 - Discussion [possible spoilers]

Hilarious so far.

I am the cruise director, and my name is Captain Bruisin'.

Another word for that is "fraud." The real crime is the beard.

"Do you have your own car too?"
"Mr. Andrew Bernard. Has a nice ring to it."
"I can see him proposing to Angela. I can also see him proposing to Oscar."

Ah good lines.

And I like how human Dwight was after the proposal.
"Well..... it was my fault."

I've never see him that humble.

I wonder if Jim's failure to propose will lead to Pam resenting him for it and ultimately causing a break-up.

'Cuz that's just how bitches do.

i was thinking the same thing. Maybe they will do something w/ how roy never actually married pam, jim will never propose to her? this was by far the best post writer-strike episode. Can't wait for next season. :applause::applause:

Great episode--the Kevin/Holly stuff was definitely the highlight of the season for me. Absolutely hilarious.

This
Angela/Dwight
thing may be how they get Andy off the show and onto the spinoff.

Oh, and SUCK IT Ryan. BJ Novak does such a great job with that character that I actually hate "Ryan." Seeing him get hauled off was classic.

Jim's telephone calls to Ryan were great as well.

Michael just gets worse and worse. It's sad how at the beginning of this series, I looked forward to his camera time. Now it's just tedious. He needs a new direction or some sort of change.

Agreed with the others, fantastic episode until the end.. didn't end the way that I thought it would. I like the
new HR
and I really hate that they
brought Jan back
. Loved the outro. Can't wait until the webisodes in July!

Holly is Micheal, but a little nicer and (as Micheal would say) "with boobs."

It's kind of scary how they found a way to transfer his total lack of comedic understanding into another character, and then even scarier that she could pull it off deadpan so well.

I'll miss Toby. I hope he shows up here and there or calls or e-mails or something. It would be funny to see him occasionally living it up like a pimp in Costa Rica.

"And what do you do here?"
"I do the numbers"

I like how they didn't center the episode on Jim/Pam. Good stuff. Having Andy's parents there was great, possible spinoff characters? I predict the engagement may take place off camera and Pam may just be wearing a ring next season. Come on Jim, take Ryan's job.

They're going somewhere with Jim calling Ryan twice, I just can't figure out where.

Also, where the hell was Andy the entire episode until the party?

And they managed to shoot these last episodes without showing Angela's stomach at all, that's a feat in itself.

This is such an odd reference but........ Toby leaving to Costa Rica reminds me of when Howard Sprague left Mayberry to a tropical paradise, but found it wasn't all it was hyped up to be after too long.
Great episode. The Kevin and Holly bits were hella laughs. Also at the end I thought is was them going at it.
Same, I was relieved to see it wasn't.

This bugged me a lot too.

I think it goes to his corporate blackberry and somehow David Wallace gets the calls. I think it shows Jim has a passion for his job. And since there will be a time skip when S5 starts and they emphasized Scranton to NY is only 2 hours, Jim may take the job and Pam will be back in Scranton after having a great time in NY for school. Flip flop!

They probably wanted Andy's proposal to come out of no where, which it did. Too bad Angela wasn't pregnant. Schrutes make thirsty babies.

I dunno if I think that. I mean the first two seasons are him trying to slack off as much as possible, even though he points out in the Olympics episode that even with the goofing off, he closes two clients and thus "is about as productive as any other day."

I thought he was calling to tell Ryan he was serious about sticking around because he wants to stay near Pam. Plus, Ryan really tried to move in on Pam this season, so maybe Ryan is just nursing an agenda/vendetta. Or, possibly, he wants to get rid of Jim and then try to get Pam.

At any rate, not really anything to worry about right now. Ryan is gone and it feels good.

Well just this season he's not necessarily serious about the job itself, but more for the financial security he wants for him future with Pam. Big Tuna has changed his whole attitude on the job the past 3 episodes. I don't think he feels the need to work with Pam, they're already together. Its more for the money for Pam plans.

I don't think Ryan is after Pam as much as you think. I take his dislike of Jim more because of the whole Wallace/website thing. Theres a really good deleted scene of how its risky for him to go after Jim. I also don't think its the last we've seen of Ryan. He'll be back with Michael and Kelly visiting at whatever rich people prison he ends up at.

Probably my favorite episode of the season. I was complaining after last week's episode that Michael was becoming too one dimensional, thankfully the new H.R. rep and re-introduction of Jan fixes that. I'm curious to see what they'll be doing with Ryan though; losing two good characters would hurt the show too much.

The storyline with Kevin tonight was classic.

We have definitely not seen the last of Ryan. However, if it is.. wait!

If Ryan's gone, there's an opening for his spot. Who's got passion for the job? Where are the corporate office jobs located? And who's significant other will also be in that same city for school?

..hmm.. like Courageous said, I think that Jim will land up in NY and Pam will go to school, but I think she'll stay up there with Jim and that'll be the end of that..

Where in the hell will they take this Jan/Michael thing, though? I really wanted to see him and Holly hook up.

//edit: And it was great seeing Mose back, he was hilarious.

it was a great episode,
i actually thought jim might get fired. i still think with that whole two message thing that either something really good is going to happen or really bad to jim. and i certainly think the pam in NYC thing is finally going to make their relationship less than stable.

the kevin/holly scenes were definitely the funniest thing in the episode.

the angela/andy thing was pretty unexpected, and so was the angela/dwight thing. that should make things interesting next year, and whats this about an andy spinoff?

and the michael thing... i know thats hes supposed to be a dunce, but really. they are just ramming this michael/jan thing into the ground. we know he likes holly, why the hell would he go with jan and kind of be a father. stupid writers.

and ryan getting arrested was funny, anyone find the video on youtube? i tried a couple searches but didnt see it.

Awesome episode except for the ending with Michael and Holly. I really hated that. When he first brought Jim in to talk to him about Holly I kept thinking it would be funny if she were actually like Michael and they really hit it off so I was especially disappointed with him going back to Jan. The Kevin/Holly stuff was hilarious though.
Maybe if they were on Blu Ray........

When is FotC coming back? :whistle2:0
Pushed back to 2009 due to A) writer's strike, and B) because FotC don't think they have enough material to float another season.

Which - as much as I hate it - I have to respect, since both of them seem more focused on delivering quality material instead of quantity.

I'd happily wait another year for a full season with great songs like the first one contains.

Anyone know what happened to the Office spinoff rumor that was going around? They had said they were going to introduce the cast this season, obviously didn't happen.

Man do I love this show. I can't wait for next season. I'm interested to see what they do with Jim and Pam because now that they're together they have no reason to stay.

I liked the Jim and Ryan dynamic. Both start off as regular guys. You see Ryan kinda succumb to the darkside when he leaves Scranton whereas Jim stayed the same when he left and returned. It's fitting that Ryan was the antagonist of this season.
