Parks and Rec was pretty touching. Reminded me of an Office Christmas episode, with a good mix of comedy and emotional layers.
Office seems to be in one of its transitional phases. Hopefully once they settle into being a Sabre property, the usual antics will kick back up. They had to do the same last season.
One problem that they can't really get out of - or, at least, have shown no ability to get out of - is putting Jim into awkward situations and being dumbstruck. When this happened before without Pam, he had nothing to lose, so he thought on his feet and generally came out ahead. Now he's in this situation where he has to be more forgiving/understanding in order to solidify his status as a father and husband, and that just makes the whole thing fall flat on its face. He can't deadpan out of it anymore, and seeing him behave strangely just looks weird. Michael can still be clueless, which is why he pulls it off better.
That's one take I have, anyway.
