The Official 2007/2008 NBA thread
Yeah, thats what I thought. Right now I'm trying to decide between a Nike green or an Adidas white Paul Pierce swingman, I can get either one for under $50.
Got a Nike swingman throwback Pierce jersey I've for a good 4-5 years now. No signs of wear, the stitched on lettering is soooo much better than screenprinted.

I wasn't going to touch the new replicas even at ~$30, they're terrible.

I'm leaning towards the Nike because I want a green jersey, and I don't like how the new ones have the logo above the name. But I've heard the Nike's aren't as nice as the new Adidas's, I'm not sure. I'm also not a huge fan of the swoosh so close to 'Celtics' on the front.

The Adidas ones are more though, right? I've always thought Nike swingman is where it is at.

The white Adidas would be $43, the green Nike would be $47. The Adidas's retail for $75, the Nike's haven't been around for a few years now, but they were $70.

It's a win win situation. Take the color you want more, but honestly I avoid white jerseys. To stain prone.

I got a friend who has the green jerseys with the black lettering, those are sick.

LAKERS ARE IN THE FINALS!

Great MVP performance by Kobe tonight, he came in and took over the 4th. I also loved the way Farmar was playing tonight. He provided a spark that they desperately needed when they were down big. GREAT GAME.

Lakers win. All we need is the Celtics and the NBA will get huge ratings for the finals.

Only one man can make it happen. And it just so happens that that man is currnetly the NBA Commissioner.
Got a Nike swingman throwback Pierce jersey I've for a good 4-5 years now. No signs of wear, the stitched on lettering is soooo much better than screenprinted.
Yeah swingman throwbacks are the shit
i got two of them during a foot locker sale.
Sasha is an ass for that
Yeah WTF. As if I needed another reason to hate that European bitch.

MY roommates and I were all like "He would fucking shoot that"

I think I'll go for the green Nike jersey, thanks.

I'm not sure how effective Detroit is going to be with Rip Hamilton and Chauncey Billups both hurt. Hamilton might not even play. Plus Rasheed looked afraid of the paint yesterday.

They've been doubling Rasheed like 80% of the time he gets the ball in the paint. I really really really hope Rip plays tomorrow. Since its at home, they have a better chance, but still. He's the only guy Detroit has had in the playoffs that has been consistent.

They got Rodney Stuck-stuck-stuck-stuckey.

A part of me died when the Lakers won. It's like their's no good in the world, terrorists will always prevail, Bush will still be President when I wake up in the morning, and the Lakers will win another championship.

I was hoping against hope, somehow both teams would be disqualified because of a rampant gambling issue, and they'd be replaced by the Suns and Hornets.

In that trophy presentation speech, I was wondering where he was going when he started to talk about Kobe as a role model for kids :whistle2:#, but then he mentioned Kobe's work ethic. I guess that's OK :)

Boooooo on your post

How are the Lakers on par with Bush and terrorists?!?

>:O

I think we're just a little sick of seeing the same finals, i.e., Lakers or Spurs versus whomever.

you're just mad that the warriors didn't make it in the playoffs :p

i'm mad too...i was hoping the warriors would be in and dallas out, but whatever

p.s. that ending of the TNT show was the best NBA music video compilation i've ever seen...good stuff

Oh, I know I'm not tired of seeing the Lakers go all the way! haha! :p

I'm always pulling for Golden State every year, when they made the playoffs last year I was thrilled and was hoping they could actually pull it off. Of course, it's pretty hard when your pretty much a perimeter shooting team :whistle2:k

I like seeing compilations, kinda bummed I missed out on seeing that one. Was it just highlights of the Series?

I'm not mad the Lakers are going to the Finals because the Warriors didn't make the playoffs, I understand the Warriors are just a show team until they get a legitimate PF like Duncan, Boozer, Gasol, Garnett, Sheed.

I'm from NorCal so I just hate everything LA, Lakers, Dodgers, USC...shit like that.

The one major reason i'm really pissed, is to see that mother fucker Jerry West. If i'm Memphis, i'm setting that bitch on fire. I understand, you can trade Gasol, but the mother fucker, went to the love of his life Lakers, and got them Gasol for absolutely nothing. Just feels really tainted to me.

Best of luck to Kobe though, that performance was one of the best i've ever seen.

Oh...and by the way...who the fuck gives a shit about Women's Softball?

After the game is finished, I flip to ESPN, I love the TNT After Show, but the shit cuts to commercial after 5 seconds of them talking, and I see that I have to endure Women's Softball? Listen, I almost shot my television when I saw no PTI because of those mother fuckers.

Those Lakers are Awesome!!! Finally there are in the Finals!!! :applause::applause::applause:

Good Job to Kobe and his MVP performance! The Lakers down by as much as 17, in the 2nd half played incredible! Sasha was playing well tonight and came through with some big shots.. That was an Exciting Game and I hope the Lakers can pull it all the way through the NBA Finals to win the championship :bouncy::bouncy::bouncy:

Go Lakers!!!! ;););)

Hahaha, kinda funny cuz I was watching a minute of women's softball to kill time before the game started. I was trippin' out on how they pitch, that looks like it hurts :whistle2:k
HELL YEAH GRADUATION AND LAKERS IN THE FINALS!!!!!!!!

4 more wins baby!!
The coincidence, when I graduated the Lakers were in the Finals also, but then they lost there :/

At this point, I'd rather see the Pistons win it all than the Lakers or Celtics, and the Pistons are in the same division as the Cavaliers. It would just seem wrong if one of the worst teams in the NBA and a team with personnel issues and about to loose their star player would both turn it around and end up in the finals.

I thought I was the only one who hated Sasha.

'Grats to the Lakers, LA, and the fans for winning the division title.

I'd like to see the Celtics go to the finals personally. But I'd have to say they better step up their game a lot, they've just been playing like shit in the playoffs. Either that, or everyone has figured out their game. Now that I think about it, it's probably because most of them, even their star players, barely have any playoff experience. Never really cared for the Pistons that much.

I don't doubt any of the teams having talent and ability, however seeing any of those three teams come out on top just doesn't feel right. Basketball just isn't the same.

Let's go Lakers! :D :D Now what would make for a heck of a matchup in the championship would be to see Celctics in the Finals with us, but of course that's where we part and go our separate ways (to the championship baby!)

I had the same reaction today. Women's softball is probably the worst programming choice that ESPN makes its viewership suffer through. I can stand billiards (even enjoy it actually), I can take bowling (those trick shots are pretty cool, plus I gotta give props to anyone who can bowl better than me), I love poker, and can take pretty much any other fringe sport from them, but women's softball is pure torture. Why not put on some soccer or some women's basketball instead, something interesting.

I go to ASU, and work on the radio station here, and they just pick people to go cover different events around the campus and everybody wants to go to each whether it be concerts, sports games, student activities. Nobody wanted to cover softball, I have a thing against women with legs the size of tree trunks.
Rip Hamilton will play tonight. I expect to see a few hard fouls on that arm.
No doubt, perhaps Boston will return the favor by playing some hard defense of their own? More than likely he'll run into a screen with that arm and that might do him in

Maybe....

Screw you man. Soccer (my favorite sport and the sport that paid half my college) is the best sport on the planet. We are popular enough to have an afternoon time slot not a fucking 11:30 - 3 am slot. Girls softball is lower than Arena Football please not compare the worlds most popular sport with a mom and dad cook out sport like girls softball.

Umm...I actually meant that soccer was better than women's softball. Sorry for the misunderstanding. What I meant was that I'd have preferred to watch soccer, a sport not many seem to like in America, than have to sit through girl's softball.

Well isnt that fucking nice my comcast just went out due to rain.

I like how they always boast that since they are not a dish its not messed up by weather. This fucking thing goes out even if its windy. I hate their monopoly.
Amazing, Ray Allen is leading the Celtics in points, hell is going to freeze over :cold:
Hey now -- I told you he's back ;)

Man come on Boston win this and send the Pistons home.

I am simply just to sick of the pistons to allow them to win.

EDIT: How was that not a foul on Wallace? Be basically hit every part Perkins body.

By the way I like how Rajon knows his role. NEVER TAKE A JUMP SHOT. This guy passes up what is really easy shots by anyone else for a pass that wont really go anywhere.

In the off season this kids needs to get a god damn jump shot.

Pistons are getting a lot of home court calls already.

That was no foul on Billups and Wallace has been hacking all game long down in the paint.

Yet another really bad no call that favors the Pistons. They are really getting a lot of calls going there way. I would have to say that a good 6-10 points are all from bad calls.
Hey now -- I told you he's back ;)
Haha, I know, I caught the last game, I saw his gamebreaking performance, just thought I'd get one more crack at him before he comes out of his slump :p

I honestly think the refs are targeting KG. Seriously. It seems like they are targeting KG and giving him fouls for no reason at all. Thats great defense in the post. What are you suppose to do? Let them get the post with no pressure?

And the Tech on perkins is complete bullshit. Wallace is clearly yelling at the refs for about 2 min and no tech at all. Perkins says one thing and he gets a tech.

This game is looking fixed more and more. Sterin sells more tickets if there is a game 7.

Again. The pistons are getting a LOT of fucking fouls. Very subjective fouls. Tap here Tap there. Box out. They are picking up fouls left and right. And its not like Boston isnt driving to the hole....Perice has been smashed a couple times and having it a no call.

Also....as the announcer said. Rondo is getting charged like hell when people drive and is not getting that call at all.

Pierce was fuckin fouled there, no call... And on Garnett's 4th foul, there was absolutely nothing there. Nothing at all. I can't even see where they thought it might be a call.

They're not going to call a T on Wallace because he's one T away from being suspended. He's got a free pass unless he's really, really over the line.

Bennett Salvatore is giving Kenny Mauer a run for his money as the 2nd worst ref in the NBA.
