Now that I finally have my new computer all situated, I can post my recent pickups. Hopefully nobody minds a few from last month; I haven't had a way to upload pictures until now...
The most noteworthy thing here is the coveted (at least by me) Bionic Commando lunchbox. I've never seen it go for less than $25, but I managed to pick it up for $12.
14 sets of DVD's, blowup guitars, coupon books, stickers, and potty training stuff from the Pull-Ups House Party.
LBP2 stuff from the PS3 House Party and a Child of Eden code.
Now for this month's stuff...
Ram Racing was free from Storm City Games. For anyone not familiar, the black thing on the right is the GameBoy Player for Gamecube.
My new PC! (Feel free to ignore the gutted one on the left.) It's a ZT Affinity 7644Mi. I've never heard of the brand, but it's a great computer so far. This thing has the 3.4GHz quad-core Intel i7-2600, 16 GB RAM, a 2 TB HDD, a Blu-ray burner, and I just upgraded the Windows 7 to Professional 64-bit. I
hate Windows 7 (it took me quite a few hours to get it to a satisfactorily functioning state), I don't like that I have to open the left panel to mess with the hardware, and I had to get a DVI converter because it doesn't support VGA...but other than that, I am quite pleased with my purchase. It's not the most powerful computer, but it's a hell of an upgrade for me and I got a great deal on it. And thanks to the video card I got for a steal in a CAG lowball, there isn't a PC game currently available that I can't play on high settings.
And now for our second-biggest purchase ever:
2003 Chevrolet Venture. (Feel free to ignore the old man.) It's obviously used and it has a fair number of miles on it, but it's in great shape. I just have to replace a control panel on one door (which the dealer ordered for free), the sun visor on the passenger side, and a knob. We
might need to patch a tire, but my brother-in-law can do that easily if necessary. All in all, it's a great car...very roomy, has most of the features we wanted, and it's a nice smooth ride. And best of all, we got it for only $5700 because we offered cash in hand. I was hoping to do something a bit more fun with our tax return, but having the minivan is a huge relief for us. And now we've got room for our family to grow further.
And now, to end things on an anti-climactic note:
Can't stand AC/DC, but the track pack was only $5. Can't stand Gran Turismo, but it was free from House Party. Will probably trade it in.
Missing: Myst for PC.
