The Official CAG June 2012 Pick-Ups Thread

DSC04902.jpg

Picked up DKCR at GameStop with the $10 off coupon. And then YES YES YES I FINALLY GOT VINCENT VAN GOGH'S EXPLODING TARDIS!

From a CAG's lowball and a trade on another site. The SP is beat to hell, and the DS has a bit of broken pixels that look like a 1/2 inch black line on the bottom screen. Any chance anyone knows a way to fix this or should I just replace the screen?

Someone's pawning their anime off on me... I wonder who?

I'd just replace the screen. They're relatively cheap.

You wouldn't happen to have a reliable site to order them from handy would you?

I already posted these first two pictures in the yard sale thread, but I might as well share them here too:

$16 for everything shown above.

And here is the package I've been waiting for. It was supposed to come on Friday, but they left a stupid pink slip instead even though I was home the entire day. It couldn't be re-delivered on Satuday like I had thought, so I went to the post office, but the one that had my package is apparently closed on Saturdays. Thankfully, it finally arrived today. I can't actually do anything with this stuff right now, but I'm happy to have it:

I'd just buy it on amazon from a seller with a lot of positive feedback, that's what I did and it worked out great.

Now on to all the money I've wasted in the past two weeks.

I played the shit out of Puzznic at my grandparents' when I was a kid. His copy has passwords scribbled on every possible surface of the manual.

Hell Yes! I was just talking about FPR R in the under rated games thread lol. I saw this cheap on AWD so I figured I'd pick up the mobile version. I have spent more hours on FPR R than any other game ever by far.

I haven't had a chance to play it with an actual group yet, but just by looking at the cards, it's easy to see how much fun can be had with this. I've certainly seen funnier games, but this is extremely easy and the randomness/variety allows you to play it over and over without it getting stale (and it doesn't require you to be stupid like Quelf). I love trivia games, but they're not fun anymore once you've gone through the cards. With a game like this, you don't really have to worry about it. If you can get the cards printed cheap, go for it, but the official version is currently available on Amazon for $25.

If you have friends that are gaming nerds, Metagame is another one you might want to consider.

Thanks for the input. Didn't realize it was finally back in stock on Amazon.

Several modes were taken out, the UFC-styled cage from the first game was removed, and the sound quality of the music was lower. FPW1 kind of ruined the GBA for me; it was so good that I didn't bother with many other GBA games!:lol::lol:

Super Nintendo Mini - $2:
I got a text from my Mom saying that she found a Super NES Mini with no hook-ups or controllers at a yard sale for $5. I told her to try to haggle it down to $2, but still get it if they hold firm at $5. They took $2. Hooked it up using some of my SNES cables, popped in Tetris Attack, and it came right up. I'm going to take the plastic tabs out of the cartridge slot so it can play my Super Famicom games.

Big one today!

A new Asus laptop - ASUS A53E-AS31 or something like that - just came.

Specs:
4 gig RAM
750 gig HDD
2.3 Ghz processor
$480 cost, $80 out of pocket because I got a $400 gift card from my school.

And it looks great! (It's red, BTW.)
Squarehard, how much do you spend a week on Anime? Cause, dude, holy shit you seem to buy a lot.
I'm almost at about $450 on anime for this month, and nearing $3400 for the year. So yes, yes I do buy a lot of anime. @_@

I've spent $1300 in June on games alone. Plus another $150 on anime and a little bit more for books. This month was ridiculous... lol

Ranma 1/2 - Out of Control Box Set
Tritton AX 120
The Walking Dead - The Complete first Season
Rival Schools United by Fate ( Complete )

I thought my pick ups for this weekend were going to be a lot more epic than they ended up being. I went to the Cleveland Classic Arcade & Gaming con. I brought a ton of money expecting to blow everything, sadly I didn't come close. I was really hoping to find a NES toploader. This year there was just a bunch of flea market quality games, though there were a few gems ( in the past they had mostly really cool things).

3DO longbox games and a controller for $20. One of the golf and the soccer games are still sealed if that counts for anything.

About the only thing I went in looking for. The KC Munchkin games are for the Odyssey 2. got all three games for $8

some odds and ends. Congo's Capers and Pocky & Rocky are just the boxes to complete loose copies I have. The Magic of Scheherazade and Q*bert are complete, got those for $7.50 each. The SNES game is Super Bomberman for $5.

random holes in my collection now filled

Plushes and my girlfriend's obligatory Pacman find.

And the coolest pick up. A bunch of repo carts for $30 each.
I wish i had that type of budget, I would complete my ranma 1/2 series in no time lol..
How much did you pay for Rival Schools, cuz that stuff ain't cheap usually, specially for what appears to be a complete one. @_@

I paid $37 dollars for it.
This is one of my favorite childhood games so it was a must to get no matter the price.. The funny thing is my brother told me a few weeks after purchasing the game that the game that i was actually playing as a kid was " Rival Schools 2 " lol... So i guess i was playing a pirated Japanese game when i was 6 years old..

I don't usually post my purchases and winnings on here because they aren't all that special or cool, but I had to post this package I got by surprise a day or two ago. Apologies for the poor quality, I don't have a real camera.

Oh geewhiz, neighbors aren't going to know what could possibly be in this shipping container.

WYc9t.jpg

And here it is all set up. It is over five feet tall and is totally not weird at all.

Saw one listing on eBay go for $120 plus shipping, while some guy had 10 BIN for $39.99 plus shipping.... People should pay attention lol.

Found the SNES games at a yard sale for $10, and the GBA Player at a pawn shop for $5 without the disc (of which I have one, so yay!)

2012-06-24_20-14-51_711.jpg

Some minty N64 box/manuals and cart only Mario Kart 64 that I received from a trade.

2012-06-24_20-16-00_678.jpg

I bought this off a fellow CAG for a superb price. I have been looking for a box for this for quite some time, and surprisingly that is the best shape of the 3 pieces.

2012-06-24_20-17-18_109.jpg

I bought these off of a guy on another site for $40, not too bad if I do say so myself.

I've fallen so far behind on pictures, but here's most of the past few months worth. I should be caught up now because I don't currently have anything in the mail.
photobucket-35450-1340668979311.jpg

photobucket-48064-1340668977796.jpg

Various Blu-rays, mostly from Best Buy and GoHastings. Aside from Chronicle and Sherlock Holmes 2, didn't spend more than $7 on a single one of these.

photobucket-1521-1340668979821.jpg

Few PS3 games, TDK steelbook, and Intelligent Qube. Intelligent Qube is in great condition and was only $1 at a garage sale a month or so ago.

photobucket-44322-1340668978295.jpg

Various 360 games. The entire bottom row is thanks to Best Buy's @Gamer coupons. Didn't pay more than $12 for any of these.

photobucket-35452-1340668977303.jpg

More 360 games, thanks to GameFly, Best Buy, and even Gamestop.

photobucket-36894-1340668978791.jpg

3TB external HDD on clearance for just $110. The 2TB was $10 more, so it was a no brainer. 3DS was an absolute steal, got it for just $50 at a pawn shop. Later found out it included a 2GB SD card and a R4i card. Oh, and the weird reflection is from the overhead light. Didn't feel like dragging the headset out, but there's the manual to the Tritton AX120 headset. And lastly, the PS3 vertical stand/controller charging station/headset from BB.

photobucket-970-1340668980337.jpg

Finally signed up for Gamer's Club Unlocked, got my Brave copy from Amazon to take advantage of the $20 credit and free movie ticket and Batman and Joker bobbleheads from a yard sale. Also, a couple cheap graphic novels from the GoHastings sale.

You over promised and under delivered! I was expecting a mountain of stuff, like so big there's a smashed animal under the pile. I want my money back! RAWRRRR!!!!! *flips table* ;D

To be fair, I left out quite a few things such as games that I only had for a month or so and then ended up trading/flipping/selling and some other things.

More pick-ups I finally got around to taking pictures of...

picture.php

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle - Wii:
A $2 K-Mart Clearance find. No I just need to finish the first one.

Tom Clancy's EndWar - PSP:
Another K-Mart clearance find. It plays very similarly to Advance Wars, but the game board consists of hexagons instead of squares. Should be good.

picture.php

Godzilla: Kaijuu Daikessen/Monster War - Super Famicom:
For some unknown reason, this was canceled and never released in the U.S. Being a Godzilla fan on a Super Famicom kick lately, I had to get it.

Sailor Moon S Fighting Game - Super Famicom:
One of my dream import games because of being a big fan of the series. Glad to have finally gotten it.

Sailor Moon S Puzzle Game - Super Famicom:
A Sailor Moon puzzle game for the SNES/SFC? That has "buy me!" written all over it.

A Bunch of Strategy Guides

At The Drive-In - In/Casino/Out:
Haven't listened to it yet.

Disgaea Custom Soundtrack: Being a Disgaea fanboy, I had to jump on this soundtrack CD when I found it.

picture.php

Hot Wheels Batman: Arkham Asylum Batmobile:
Checked out some Hot Wheels by chance and found this beauty. It was only $.89. I had to get it.

picture.php

Mechagodzilla 1974 Figure:
My favorite Godzilla villain monster. The figure finally got a second production run. It was sitting by itself on an end-cap shelf at Toys R' Us and it was the only one they had in classic silver.

Godzilla 1985 VHS: Found it sealed for $4. I wish it wasn't VHS, but it's one of the Godzilla movies that hasn't been released on DVD yet.

Probably not the right place for this but I just bought 4 game boy games off ebay and I wanted to know if I paid too much or not. The games are: Tetris, space invaders, the legend of zelda link's awakeing, and the legend of zelda oracle of ages. I paid $30 for them all.
