The Official CAG May 2011 Pick-Ups Thread "May Flowers" Edition

Looking through everyone's awesome pickups, makes me curious about something...I own a PS3 and 360 as well, and was just wondering, what makes you decide to buy a multiplatform game on a specific system? I've always been a sucker for how boxart looks better on PS3, but the 360 community is just better to me simply because of Party chat, more people have headsets, and my connection doesn't randomly just drop out.

I have been usually just sticking to buying exclusive first party titles on my PS3 here lately, but I do have a few multiplatform ones like Bad Company 2, Super Street Fighter IV and things like that. Just curious.

Everything you listed and with the exception of portal 2 most games are developed on the 360 then ported over to the PS3, The graphics are also usually better on the 360 also.

I prefer achievements, xbox live >>>>>>>>>>>>> PSN, more people with mics, all my friends are on it. The only reason int eh world to get a multi on PS3 is for 2d fighters. If I'm playing Street Fighter or Blazblue, it's with a Playstation controller. That's the only exception though! lol

So far in May I got:

PSP 3000 (mint condition), Resistance, MLB The Show, SW: Elite Squadron, GTA Chinatown, Avatar (Game), 4gb Stick, PSP Zipper Case, Midnight Club: $85

Traded in all the games, and picked up an 8gb card and Peacewalker.

If you don't mind me asking where exactly did you get those deals?

Crackdown 2 & Dante's Inferno (both 360) for 6.29 a piece new.
Call of Duty 4 (360) for 17.99(Not the best deal, but I was already at TRU, and decided to grab it)

Some treasure hunting scores.

These were pretty cool.

It was pretty funny. I was saying to myself in a Goodwill, how I've never found any of my classic 80's toys ever in the entire time I've thrifted. No Transformer's, no Thundercats, no M.A.S.K, no nothing. Two seconds later, I shit you not, I saw this on the shelf. So awesome and full of nostalgia. Most are in pieces but there are some salvageable ones in it and the pieces should sell as a nice lot.
IMG_1698.jpg

Next were these two cool games for .98 cents each.
IMG_1700.jpg

And finally.... never in my wildest dreams. It was .98 cents and then the shitty little store I found it in was having a 50% off sale on everything. .49 cents out the door.

Mass effect LE is from Amazon along with the GoW2 CE,
the bioshock LE was bought off of half.com

IMG_0460.jpg

If you have any interest in Alice and/or artbooks, I would highly recommend picking that one up. It is absolutely fantastic, around $20 and it is a hardcover one. I only glanced through tonight but man it is getting me quite excited for the game too. :D

Other various pick ups via CAG TF, ebay, a local place (for the blus) and Zavvi for the P3P LE. :)

After seeing the amazon prices for mass effect 1's le i have to tip my hat to you.

Found a projector clearanced for $45 at target, grabbed the last one they had and it works great. Then I stopped in to gamestop, and after a bit of looking around found a copy of Xenosaga III, absolutely mint for $20 :D

It isn't a badge. It is a UMD case. It was a pre-order bonus with Crisis Core.

!

Brb, eBay.

Thanks.

Picked up a Super Nintendo with 2 controllers, all hookups, six games with booklets (Zelda Link to the Past, Paperboy 2, Starfox, Super Mario Kart, Flashback, and Aladdin), a cleaning kit all in great condition for $20.

Add some more games to my PS2 backlog from the local Play N Trade:

iconps2_r2.gif

Max Payne 2
iconps2_r2.gif
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
iconps2_r2.gif
Genji Dawn of the Samurai
iconps2_r2.gif
The Getaway
iconps2_r2.gif
Smuggler's Run 2

Total came out to under $11

I went to Frys before going to the movies tonight since Dissidia 012 was on sale for $20, I got there and decide to check the clearance section, picked up Lord of Arcana for $20 and Hexyz Force for $20. I guess Hexyz is somewhat rare, I was surprised to see it since on Amazon it costs $40+ new. On top of the SNES, I had a great day finding stuff.

good GOD man, how much did all that run you?

Im waiting to see if he says it all costed $20. A lot of people seem to be posting these huge lots of games w a lot of rates & saying it was ridiculously cheap...
good GOD man, how much did all that run you?
Definitely not $20, I can promise you that. The NES plus games ran me about $60. The DS games about $20. The 360 games.....I would guess about $150 to $200, but I'm not totally sure.

I also just got a package today with Bayonetta and Bioshock 2 Limited Edition in it, so you can add those to the group too.

Well it's definitely been a while since I've posted anything, so here's my haul.

DSC00259.jpg

Socom 4 I got for free, the rest were purchased through various promotions, or at a really good deal.

DSC00236.jpg

Couldn't pass up the Mass Effect guide and artbook for $20. It's sealed besides the tear in the front.

DSC00230.jpg

Tactics Ogre I won from Bradygames on Twitter :D The SE members prize is from ebay for $30, all the internal contents were pristine.

Since I'm going to E3 this year, I really wanted the 3DS so I could make use of the Street Pass function. I was planning on buying one this weekend, but my boyfriend just gave it to me early since my birthday is on the 19th :)

I was pretty much against the 3DS concept and the system itself, but there's actually quite a few games coming out that I'm really interested in. And once you have the system in your hands and you can play around with the settings, it's well worth it. I've played a couple hours at a time and didn't get a headache, yet when I tried the system out at Gamestop I got one immediately.

I get a headache when I'm in Gamestop as well....regardless of time spent on a DS. I can't figure out if there will be enough games to ever justify buying one, although the tales game and zelda would be cool.

It will have an incredible library. Why even doubt it? Look at the last 2 n\Nintendo handhelds, EXCELLLLLLLLENT libraries. The 3ds already has some good stuff going for it too with Zelda/Tales/DQ Slime/Kingdom Hearts/Paper Mario/Devil Survivor and all the other countless awesome games that will surely come! Most of those aren't out yet mind you, but the near future already looks bright!

Your deals transcend "good finds" and are sitting in a puddle of "fishy". That may just be the cynic in me, but still.....lol

i had a $10 off coupon for gamestop and they're currently selling it for $14.99 power up card basically covered tax, :D
The Medal Gear Solid 4 LE was bought off ebay. another $10 gift card paid $12
just reminded me i also grabbed 2x Final Fantasy 13 at $10 a piece.
:D :D :D :D

I suppose it was more the Mass Effect LE that got me on your trail =P To be fair, I got the MGS4 LE new for $35, so there are definitely deals out there. Mass Effect though....=P
